The woman who received the truck was nice & helpful but said the person who handles the U-Haul services had already gone home. It was about 6:30 pm. I am disappointed at being charged for the 6 gallon shortage. I had rented 2 trucks for this move. The person I had drive the 26 foot truck messed up when he put the gas in minutes before returning the truck. I should have had him take a photo of the dashboard gas gage but we were sooooo exhausted, I forgot. The drop-off location for this 1 large truck was very narrow, very dark and almost hidden from the road. Even though we returned the truck and rented items clean and a day early, that isn't considered for a credit while I get charged almost $4 a gallon for the lack of 6 gallons.

Michele OWhen I picked up th vehicle I opened the doors and was overwhelmed by a stench of deodorizing cleaner. I had to let it air out for about 10 mins. Even then I had to drive with the windows down (in winter in Colorado) and the AC on full blast in my face in order to drive it. I assumed the smell would air out. The vehicle was so unstable as I drove away from the location that I wouldn't take it on the freeway. I had to drive surface roads to find a service station to check my tires. The Front Passenger tire was 30 psi BELOW recommendation. The Front Driver tire was 20 psi below recommendation. The rear passenger tires were 10 psi below. I could not even check the rear interior air on the driver side or put air in it because there was no stem extension on the valve. Same with the exterior tire on that side. I then had to drive to someone who could air up RV's. He was able to air up the exterior tire and all others but could not reach the interior tire due to the missing stem extension. I finally called roadside assistance and got all tires to spec. It took hours to get this resolved. Meanwhile, even though the windows had been down for hours I had to wear an N95 mask and leave all windows down to drive the vehicle because the smell was overpowering. At this point the truck was partially loaded. I let it air out overnight but had to depart early in the morning. I had to drive it over a high mountain pass in the cold with windows open the whole way. By the time I got to NM I was the smell was making me ill and my throat, nose and sinuses were inflamed and raw. The truck remained at my house for 3 nights with the windows open and even when I turned it in, 5 days after picking its up, I had to drive with windows down and air on full to survive the smell. This truck was poorly maintained and then carelessly cleaned and sealed up. I have rented many U-Haul's and have NEVER had this problem, never had a reaction to the cleaner. It's possible they used too much, or they used a concentrate and didn't dilute or they spilled it inside the cab. It was unbearable. I called the location and they said the people who clean it use Regular Strength Fabulous and dilute its 50%. Whatever they used it was noxious. The tires were dangerous in the condition I pickup the truck up in. I was NOT happy with this rental.
Courtenay MIt was very hard to find where to park the UHAUL here. There was no signage visible from the street and I had to circle the block and drive the truck through alleyways to figure out where to park it. It was at night so it is possible I missed the sign but it was not at all visible. The personnel were super sweet and helpful though, I just wish it had been easier to find.

Kitty SThe location is a little hard to find. The listing is for Sniper Towing but the actual business is Mama Bear's Flowers/Florist so not clear if you are at the correct location. Also the sign for U-haul is in the window (low) and is maybe only 2ft x 3ft so not obvious for anyone travelling at 35-40mph on Union and only if going northbound. The staff were very helpful and great once we knew we were at the right place.

Teresa GI called the drop-off location about mid-day and they were nice. I actually called because it appeared to be a flower shop. I arrived at the location at 4:22pm and found that they had closed. I called customer service and they wanted me to go to another location. My friend told me of a night key box so I placed the keys in it.

Then, I dropped it back off…never having seen the man that rented it to me…and today he charged my card another $37.37 without ever telling me why. I text him and asked why and he never responded. This location…the one on Cucharras St, right off 8th street in Colorado Springs is a rip off.

Bruce HTruck worked fine, very few options at this location. Arrived with an online check in but was not sent a code for the lock box. Called the number on the door of the building since no one was staffed at it. Wait on hold. Rep tells me she can't give me the boxes I bought because no one is there and that location and she doesn't sell boxes from there. Well online let me buy them no problem...and still waiting for her to refund me. Cab of truck was dirty with crumbs, mud, and dog fur, I don't care, but not clean. Luckily the rep on the phone sent me the pre checklist because apparently the online link didn't submit. Return the truck with 12 miles round trip to the same location with the correct amount of gas. At the end of the online (self) return I am ready to submit, and then it is going to charge me $82 for a fuel charge. The entire truck, mileage, gas, and tax cost $57...so wtf is that for? Have to call the number again, wait on hold, get called back. Rep handled both calls professionally and was able to get the additional charge taken on. Nothing about this was convenient. After this experience I will probably never use the online check in feature since I'll just need a person to do everything anyway and I don't have to waste my time. If you just need a truck or trailer and are ok with compromising the size this location is ok, but expect to call someone.
KEVIN RLooking into the cab for cleanliness. There was candy, empty cans, gloves and a pocket knife left on the floor boards. The cab also smelt like smoke.
Stephen KTrim wires on safety cables; make taillights operational (blinker and brake lights functioned properly). The car dolly was waiting for me, however, no associate was present at the pick up site at my agreed-upon time.
