Even though this was not a UHAUL dealership location we picked up a truck and a few hours later picked up a car dolly. Picking up the truck was fine, however, when picking up the tow dolly no one would help us or answer questions on how to use the tow dolly. I ask for help several times but I was told we are not trained on how to use the equipment. We ended up driving the truck and dolly across town to have a UHAUL store help us.Ron E.

I tried two other locations here in Hattiesburg to get what I needed. One place had the trailer but we're not open at 9am on Wednesday morning and did not answer the phone. I made the reservation for one location and when I went there I was told my reservation was at a different location. I reviewed my reservation and it was for the original location. Lost valuable time because the second location didn't open as early.Ricky M.

First, one had a location where I was suppose to pick up then was told I had to go to another location. Guy is old me the â€œguysâ€ in the back could show me or help me use the tow trolly. They were really no help at all. He halfway showed me what should be what but didn't help at all in hooking up or making sure it was done right. It was me and my 28 year old trying not I move her stuff for college. The guy at the counter said he didn't know how to hook the trailer b/c he had never hooked one either 🙄Laura L.

Worst experience ever. I've used U-Haul for over 20 years and I've always been happy until this one. It was so bad that we will never again use U-Haul the reservation was bit what I booked. I booked for 8 am with a dolly. 1) my app said 4 pmâ€¦who moves at 4 pm? The location is closed so we call the 800 to be on hold for 30 mins the first time, while driving to other U-Hauls to get help with the time change only to be told they couldn't help us and we would need to call customer service. Again back on the phone for over 45 mins to fix it. Then we get to the location and the app says we aren't at the correct place because the app says 98 west when it's 98 east. We had to cross the highway and check in across the road. All while pouring down rain we get to the truck and it's backed up to a block wAll with a piece of sheet metal lodged between the truck and space to walk behind the truck to get the key. Almost getting cut in it. And guess what??? No dolly. Made our move 1000 times harder. I will never again use U-Haulmichelle B.

Horrible hook up by the worker. the trailer flew off while i was driving, i hooked everything back up and realized he had stuff set up incorrectly. after i fixed it, i had zero problems. Would definitely recommend workers knowing how to properly hook up trailers for safer travels. :)Ceilidh D.

You could have a business who knows how to rent u-hauls. This business kept saying " I do not work for uhaul" but would not give me info or a number to call to discuss my problem. Then they need a course in customer service....yelling at a customer about "we are ruining his day!" And telling us to leave .... My complaint was that additional charges were billed to me and they forged my husbands signature on the contract (because a contract or receipt for charges was never shown, discussed, or given to him at time of rental). This business kept saying they did "not work for uhaul!" But.... I couldn't get a number to call from them.... And I'm sure they get paid for providing this service! Please, if you need to rent a u-haul, use a U-haul store, not a side job business, and especially not Sound Advice of Hattiesburg. I would hate to know how one is treated if they have a complaint about a sound system put in!!Robert H.

Provide assistance hooking up the trailer. No one came out to help. I could not lift it high enough to put it on the ball. I went and asked for help and was told someone would come and help. After waiting 30 minutes, no one came to help so I raised it with a jack and hooked it up.V Wayne L.
My husband went to drop off the trailer. The guy was not friendly. He kept asking him if he was sure he was at the right place. He kept saying that they had been closed for 2 weeks. He finally find the reservation information and then told him to go park the trailer. When my husband went back to the office, the door was locked. He finally found the guy again and he asked for something indicating we had delivered the trailer as expected and on time. He just told him that something would be emailed to us. We have never had a bad experience with U-Haul before, but this experience may prevent us from using U-Haul ever again.sandy L.

First of all, it was supposed to be a mobile pickup. I got to the location and my vehicle was still not assigned. They were wrapping up for the day. When the guy came to the door, he wasn't wearing a mask. He even made a comment asking me â€œDon't you hate these masks?â€ Out of the 3 workers there nobody was wearing a mask. I'd like to think it's because they were closing but I highly doubt it. Finally after the oldest guy called someone and took my ID (which he didn't need because I was supposed to do a mobile pick up) and asked for my partner's ID, he realized he didn't need either of those things. Finally he handed over some keys. I got to the vehicle (unlocked) and tried to crank it only to realize he gave me another customer's PERSONAL keys to a completely different type of car. Then, we had to go back up to the door (after they were closed) and wait another 10 minutes in the heat for him to give us the U-HAUL keys. I'd suggest choosing another location if you can for sure where the employees are a bit better trained.Abbigail S.

I booked a truck less than a mile from where I was moving to. That way when I was done I only had one more mile to pay for. This was 10 miles from where I was staying but was in between there and where I was picking up my things. I drove the 10 miles only to find out that my truck wasn't at this location. It was 8 miles back towards where I came from. I drove there frustrated that I just burned my time and gas. Now I was going to have to drive the truck 16 more miles at $0.99 / mile. I get to the location only to see the truck was parked in an extremely tight space that it took 10 minutes to get out of it safely. The app was being finicky as I was in a cell signal dead zone. When I approached the first employee of the facility for assistance, he rudely informed me that uhaul no longer rents truck from there. I said my app specifically sent me here and is telling me to pick up the exact truck number as what was sitting in his parking lot. He continued to be rude until another worker came out and helped me finished getting the truck. Also I rented a large dolly so I could move my VERY HEAVY freezer safely. There wasn't one in the truck and the facility didn't have any. All of these issues added 45 minutes to my day and made me 15 minutes late for the movers who were helping at the end of the move. If there was an actually practical alternative to uhaul, I would never use it again, but alas there is no real choice.Robert S.

The rental location was excellent. I did have an issue with a lock being placed on the back door of the truck. I called the customer service number and was basically told sorry there is nothing we can do. I then reached back out to the rental location and they handled it very quickly. Very happy with rental location but very disappointed in lack of concern from customer service.David H.
The website did not work correctly on my mobile device. I had to download the app the get it to work. You should recommend that customers get the app or fix the location problem for the browser (it said I was not allowing location services, although I was, and I even tried on two different devices).Blake H.

My original designated dropoff place in Brunswick would not accept my rented large Uhaul truck nor tow trailer I brought to their location because their parking lot area was too small and could only except small trailers and small trucks. So they sent me to Uhaul By the Sea in Brunswick and I drove to that location to dropoff truck and they didn't offer storage. So I couldn't unload the Uhaul truck there. So they sent me to Savannah Uhaul storage 73 miles north of Brunswick. I arrived at that location and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I am a senior and 68 1/2 years old female, drove all the way from Prentiss, MS in the uhaul truck by myself, and had to deal with the frustrations of not knowing where to take my Uhaul truck, nor where to unload my belongings. This was a horrible experience for a senior woman to go through. I am an excellent driver, but enough is enough! I was tired and upset, and had spent a lot of money for renting the truck the tow trailer, and buying gas and driving for 2 days, and having to back track north to Savannah. ????ella M.
The young lady that checked me in was so helpful and pleasant to work with. I thought I had done the pre check in but it had not completed successfully. She was more than helpful in completing my transaction and got me on my way quickly even though the lobby was closed due to covid-19 restrictions. No communication allowed due to Covid, I understand that. Trailer hitch was not on blocks nor a stand making it near impossible for one person to pick up and connect to alone. The workers refused to come out to help. Has always been a rude business to deal with, not just UHaul.Jimmy T.

I had problems with the truck shutting down a few times and it would cause my gas mileage to drop to 8 miles per gallon. Also I pd in full when i returned truck yet the 53.00 that i was told was just being held until I returned truck yet I have not had it put back onto my Visa. I want to know whyshannon S.

I was told the vehicle needed to be clean and full of gas on return (just like I was picking it up). But the gas was not full and the vehicle was not clean inside or out. The windshield was full of bug splatters, so when I was doing the check-in, I missed a chip in the windshield. I am not sure if I'll be charged for that, but I had purchased the insurance. When spending almost $700 to rent a vehicle, it would be nice to have a clean vehicle with a full tank. Otherwise, the service was fine.Theresa V.

Do NOT rent from here. I picked up at 0821am and returned at 5pm. They accepted the return and told me they would â€œsend the invoice to my email tomorrow morningâ€ as the computer was â€œshut downâ€. The next morning when I went to review the emailed invoice they charge me for not only a full days rental but for two consecutive days ! Disputing the charges was a nightmare... I called Sound Advice of Hattiesburg, MS (the rental dealer site) to review the charges and after literally 20 minutes janiyah (one however you spell her name), the uhaul representative (the exact one I RENTED FROM THAT MORNING), denied the charges and said she â€œdidn't know whyâ€ I was calling. Again, after approximately 20 minutes (or longer) she finally agreed to return a portion of the money taken from me for the 2 day rental I was charged however she would not give me an estimated time for reversal nor would she say when to anticipate the invoice. She then abruptly hung up on me. To UHaul- there are plenty of educated well-deserving individuals whom need jobs. Why would you waste your time, effort or pay on someone who clearly poorly reflects the company such as Janiyah. NikkiNikki H.
