I was so disappointed to find out 12 hours before my move that I would have to travel an hour away to get my u haul truck. I am able to take the bus from Basalt to Carbondale to pick up my truck, but learning 12 hours before my move that I had to find a way to get to Rifle, CO was pretty unsettling. Also, after the guy checked me in at 8am, he disappeared and I couldn't ask any questions.SAMANTHA S.

Once again, this is the second time, u-haul has not had the truck that I have requested. This is the second time i have had to drive a long distance to fulfil my own request. After driving 4 hours from Loveland, CO to Rifle, CO in another u-haul can that I had to rent to get the equipment that I requested to be picked up in Fort Collins, CO, I found the rifle facility to be under construction and the computers were down. I was unable to obtain a U-Haul Contract until two days after I had the 26' van in my possession. Once I received the contract, it was incorrect and did not match my reservation and to the very end I was unable to get the U-haul Equipment Rental Contract to reflect accurately. The U-Haul cargo area had not been swept out and it had not been cleaned for COVID. I got to clean the truck in addition to the 9 hour drive...I found a mans sunglasses and a womans t-Shirt along with loose change and dirt scattered in the cab. To date, I still do not know what I was charged or credited. I drove the u-haul (4 hours) back to Loveland, between the two u-haul vehicles involved in this evolution, I spent over $100.00 in gas just to pick up the vehicle (26' van) I needed. I was never able to get the moving blankets I requested but did receive a $10.00 refund for them which were never taken off of the contract. The return date on my original reservation was correct, it was not correct on the equipment contract. So many things wrong with this experience. I have rented four times with u-haul in the past 18 months but I'm not likely to ever use u-haul or its services again. I have a dispute pending with U-haul through the Colorado office Mike (303) 286-2650 but I still have not received a phone call or any other communication from this office. The Corporate Office in Jefferson City, MO was somewhat helpful. What you can do to improve for the next customer: To the Colorado Officer, Get the reservation correct for starters. 1. Don't make promises over the phone. Customer beware. 2. The manager will make promises over the phone but there is never anything in writing and when you go to pick up your equipment, the next rental office has no knowledge of what the manager promised. 3. Do a proper walk-through with your customer, get the correct fuel level, condition and cleanliness established before just handing over a key and saying "its okay, go". 4. Be clear with the customer on what he/she is being charged. This experience is not necessarily the Rile, CO locations fault, the poor guy did not have computers or even a decent work spare to conduct business in. This was a sorry, sad experience.Kenneth P.
The facility was under construction, the computers were down. I drove a van from Loveland, CO to Rifle, CO just to pick up a 26' U-Haul that U-Haul could not deliver on at a Fort Collins, CO location. No walk-through, no proper check-in of the return vehicle that I drove from Loveland and no walk-through at all of the 26' van that I picked up. I was handed the key and told to go, I did not have a rental contract for several days and only obtained one by contacting a corporate office in Missouri. The rental contract never matched my reservation and to my knowledge was never correct. I have a complaint filed and I am still waiting to be contacted by U-haul to resolve issues.Kenneth P.

I dropped the truck off at the location and the staff told me that the internet was down. I gave him the key to the truck and he said he would give me an email after he did the intake. I returned later that day and he assured me that I didn't to do anything else. I left and the next day I saw a charge for an extra day. I turned the truck in at the appropriate time and with more fuel than required. I asked about the charge and the attendant told me he had a death in the family and his district manager had done the intake for the vehicle. I asked for a phone number or email and he gave me one for email@example.com. That email came back as undeliverable. I was charged $65.49 for a day that I didn't use.Eric M.
Making the choice to use this U-Haul in Rifle , Co, was the best choice of all , from ones closer to us and farthest as to where we had to go ,BY FAR THIS WAS AND IS THE BEST CHOICE , SO GRATEFULLY THANK YOU RIFLE U-HAUL.Virgil T.

I was given a trailer with a non functioning turn signal and the trailer was being hook up to my pick-up. Attendant told me he wasn't allowed to fix it (needs a bulb) and that I â€œmustâ€ call U-hauls' roadside assistance. I spent 45 mins on hold and was hung up on before I ever got to speak to anyone. It's was awful and stressed driving a fully loaded trailer with only one turn signal. The only assistance I was offered was a refund: How does that help me? By delaying my work to come back later and HOPE that they inspected their equipment BEFORE the customers. Try Carbondale for your rentals, they care about your safety and have never let me drive away with unsafe equipment..RUBEN S.
Make sure tires on trailer good, not slam windows on costumers faces wile they are on the phone with corporate, Be available on site they were never there, Try to give me the wrong trailer because they knew the tire was flat, Made me connect the auto trailer myself. The online check-in process was deplorable. It was supposed to be simple and instead it took half an hour waiting on hold and another hour and a half just to get me checked in and the access code for the key. I had to finally speak to a manager in order for it to happen. My suggestion is to improve the app obviously, but also to allow access to online help desk people so that they can help you get your code. They had to reset my account quite a few times. Then after I FINALLY got access to the key to the uhaul, I had to walk quite a while in order to access it. When checking everything before I used it, I ordered a dolly and it was not even in the truck. I went to a nearby truck to see if they had one, they did and so I took that one to use it. During all of this my 60 year old father had to wait in the cold just for me to get this all done. Then the dolly that we used in order to move the furniture was a little unstable, had not straps and because of all of that it took twice as long and was way more physically demanding for my 60 year old father who has heart conditions anyway. The man who worked there came out just to tell us that he can't help us in any way, even though we never asked for it and didn't even know he was there because the building was closed. Never thought anyone would be there so he came out just to be rude basically. Normally I do not complain but I hope that these issues get fixed.Cassandra W.

I didnt like that online I could reserve for more than 24 hours but he was cool that. Check in and check out was awesome. I returned the truck with correct fuel level and cleaned to the Rifle CO. . Uhaul shop. The Uhaul computer system was not functional at the time but the Uhaul guys said they would check it in when the system was up again. Very helpful as the cell phone link sucks at the uhaul shop in Rifle.Brian M.
