Vehicle had intermittent check engine light. Dash lights for the Tachometer and speedometer were burned out making it very difficult to know my speeds at night. Powertrain making some whining noise, especially at lower speeds. Suggest thorough test drive and maintenance follow-up. Truck was clean.

I was told the price and fees of the week long rental and got charged additional when I returned it in the same condition. They told me when I paid the first time that, that was all I needed to pay. Why the upcharge??? The guys on the phone do not explain all the charges upfront. Did not like that.

Attendant was unkind when we expressed confusion over pricing. We also accidentally drove to the wrong location to drop off and while trying to exit the lot were continuously honked at by an employee, probably 15 consecutive and aggressive honks.

Vehicles don't appear to be inspected after returning. I was initially rented a truck that still had the previous customers locks on it and it was not cleaned , inside or outside. Then, after switching to a different truck, IT had the lock cut off and was also dirty and very low on fuel. Unsatisfactory

I wasn't instructed on how to return on Sundays. They were closed but did not tell me how to properly check out. The sign by the key drop gave what seemed to be outdated instructions and I wasn't able to navigate the website to return the truck as the sign instructed. I dropped the keys and left, hoping that would be enough.

The truck was very dirty at pick up. However I did not say anything because I picked up the truck at 5:30pm and it had rained heavily that day and several days before. I am not sure if the trucks are normally cleaned in between or not. This isn't a complaint, but more of an observation and just making you aware.

The cab was dirty and dusty, probably because your have to take a dirt road to get to the U-Haul rental place. The person at the desk was very nice and helpful. Everything else was great.

The Uhaul representative at this location was helpful and efficient, but the cargo van that I picked up smelled very strongly of gasoline inside. The rep warned me that it smelled like gasoline and said that the previous customer must have somehow gotten a little gas on the passenger seat, but in reality, the entire van reeked strongly of gasoline, and it looked like gas had been spilled over half of the cargo bay floor. I was in a huge hurry to move out of my apartment that day, and there were no other vans available, so I used that van but kept the windows open the entire time. It didn't help to lessen the odor. The exyterior of the van was also covered with a light layer of dirt as if the previous customer had driven it on dirt roads. I told the rep in advance that I would be returning the van after hours, but I wasn't aware that I had to use the Uhaul app on my cell phone to prove that I had returned the van that night. The app asked me if the van was clean enough for the next customer, and I answered "no" because it was dirty when I picked it up and it had the strong gasoline odor inside. The app then automatically tacked on a $25 cleaning fee to my account. I was very annoyed and frustrated that I couldn't get it to undo that even when I completely went through the "return" process a second time. However, I called and spoke with a Uhaul Customer Service rep a few days later when my receipt arrived by email, and she was very kind and helpful and gave me a $25 credit for the cleaning fee. I have had many positive experiences with Uhaul in the past, but overall, this was NOT a positive experience.

I responded earlier as I rented two trucks over the course of a week, and would only say that anyone renting from U-haul should consider the following. The company is worthless! The management is extremely weak and uncaring. The local folks on the ground from your community... They are the only thing holding this dumpster fire together! Be patient with them, know they are from your community. And they want to help, but their hands are often tied. Try not to take your frustrations out on them while knowing they are hosed just like you by a company that is failing to maintain any standard of customer service!

At the coprorate level, U-Haul is worthless! Your website and rental section specifically is designed to "trap" customers with additional fees. Your contracts and policies do not refelect your advertising! Rates for $19.95 a day my ass! Add mileage, that will change by the day of the week, hidden fees, answer this text or we will charge you fees and fuel charges that do not reflect actual refill amounts. Management at the local level, all the way to the top should be made to attend mandatory customer service training! With all that being said... The nice folks trying to keep this rag-tag company functioning are working hard and doing it with a smile! Echo, the nice gal that rented me my truck, took great care of me. If there is a silver lining to U-Haul, it's the local folks who actually make things happen. Unless I have no other alternative, I will not rent from U-Haul again!

Southside storage was amazing!! Christine went above and beyond to help us after the Old Seward location told us they would not honor the reservation we had for a 10x10 storage unit, which had been confirmed at the time we rented our $3600 truck rental. They told us we could have a smaller unit.......and what were we to do with the rest of our stuff? Employee gave us the manager's number and told us if we wanted a 10x10 unit, we could go to the Boundry location. We went to Boundry and after almost an hour we got a storage unit on the 2nd floor, far away from the elevator with no carts anywhere to be found. The building had one elevator and we waited nearly 10min to go up one time to our unit. There was no way we could hand carry in a 15 foot truck's worth of furniture and boxes. This is where Christine came in and saved the day! She drove back to Southside after they had closed to get us a unit. She was amazing. I called the toll free number to express concerns on the fact that our reservation was not honored and was told I would get a call back from the manager from the Old Seward location within 3 days. To this day, still no response. I did get a call from the Boundry location to verify why I had not used the unit, which I had told the clerk at the counter, and they wrote down the cancellation of the unit the same day I had signed up for it. I explained to the person on the phone what happened and was told I would get a call back about the reservation not being honored, but have not heard back. We wasted 3 hours of our time trying to get a storage unit we should have already had, times 3 people......that is 9 hours! We then had to pay for a rental unit when it was supposed to be free for the first month with our uhaul rental. We would like management from Uhaul to call us to discuss our extreme dissatisfaction with the Old Seward location. I can be reached at 907.242.6708. The excellent rating is for Southside Storage. The Silverton location would get an average rating (they forgot the pads and dolly and truck was not accessible as another truck was blocking it.) The Old Seward location is the reason for the poor rating as I am highly disappointed with their service and their care less attitude that they did not have a unit for us. They could have offered us two small units to make up for the size we were supposed to have, but they did nothing but send us off to the other side of town.

We were fine but I was worried about breaking down. Renting a vehicle without warning lights on should always occur in my opinion. Lester exhibited great customer service

Add windshield fluid to the vehicle or buy the one that is -30 so it works. Was a little hard to see through glacier silt on the glass.

The check out was great, very easy. However, when we went to return it, we called to find out how much gas to put in, the representative told us to fill it up, which was inaccurate. We filled it when we had barely used a gallon. Appropriate clarity would be helpful when called about gas fill up. This added $50.00 to the rental unnecessarily. The question we were asking was where the gas gauge indicated when we rented, but the information we received when we called was that we had to fill the tank. Not helpful or correct.
