I booked a 20' truck on September 30 for Saturday, October 17th at 8:00 AM. On October 13th I received a call from a Uhaul rep saying the 20' truck was unavailable, but there would be a 26' if I wanted. I was asked if I would like to pick it up any earlier, to which I said sure, I could pick it up Friday evening at 5:00. When I went to get it on Friday i was told that the truck had to be back by 10:00 Am on Saturday as it was booked to go to Portage la Prairie. The guy at Kal Tire gave me the number to call at Uhaul and said they do this to us all the time. Double booked. So I called the number, the lady I spoke with assured me that the 26' truck would be ready for me to pick up at 8:00 AM Saturday. When I got there Saturday I was told that I would have to down size to a 10' truck as that was all that was available. I was also told that I would get a reduced rate on the kms used from $1.43 down to $.89, however when I read through the contract I saw that the $1.43 rate was per mile, not km, so there was no discount. Very disappointed with the entire experience.Chad A.

Overall great experience. One thing I would suggest especially for "after hours" drop off is make sure the "drop off keys box" is visible. I went around the building several times looking for it but failed to find it.ANGELITO D.

This was my third location to pick up a trailer and they were excellent. However my first reservation was in Selkirk MB, 40 mins north of my home.when I got there I found out the wheel bearing on the Left wheel were loose . True North Motors were helpful and nice, they found another trailer for me in Winnipeg Beach location,30 mins further north. When I got there and grabbed wheels to see how bearings were both had quarter inch play and clinked.the one tire was bald. I have a mechanical background and know these trailer's would not make the Trip to BC . Your dealer rep in Winnipeg Beach was very rude to me and told me good luck and enjoy the ride to Ericksdale 3 hours further North to pickup a trailer and drove away thanking me for wasting his time. I called U-Haul again and only traler available was in Steinbach MB 1 hour 45 mins south of Winnipeg Beach. When I got there all 3 trailers were in excellent condition and the guy who served me was awesome ( didn't get his name but he's a tall man around 50). So to wrap this up I was gone for a 6 hour trip to get a trailer. Your area supervisor up north was not helpful to the guys at True North Motors and does not have his local dealers back. Place is big and clean. It doesn't open on weekends so I can't really comment on the inside nor staff. The only thing is I wasn't sure where the key drop off was. Took me a few minutes to find it. I thought it be at the front door but was at the garage. If there was a bigger sign that'd save me sometime. I also wasn't sure if I'd be able to drop it off on the sat because I couldn't find the key drop off area.Benjamin K.

Fantastic company cant believe how great you get treated..had a problem with geting the truck I wanted becouse sombody the day before had a mechanical failure (nobody fault shit happens) and had to make to with a much much smaller truck..but I got a truck had to make few axtra trips but great experience and fantastic service...Manuel G.

I had arranged the use of a car dolly. They had the choice of 5 but only 2 were accessible. I hooked up to one and checked the lights. No lights worked except the left blinker did. I went to tell the worker and he tried a different wire connector. Nothing changed so he said to take the other accessible dolly and he went back inside the building. I hooked up and nothing lit up for lights. ( My truck works on my trailer that I recently used). I went back to the building to tell the worker and while I was on the yard working with the 2nd dolly they closed the store. Posted to close at 5:30 but had the doors locked already at 5:15. I did not take a dolly home to use. I am not impressed.GREG K.

Should not make a customer wait 40 mins to pick up a truck when Uhaul had sent an email saying, "We have a van reserved...and guaranteed Wednesday, 10/30/2019...STEINBACH. Uhaul needs to confirm everything is 100% confirmed before sending an email with the word "guaranteed"Yap L.

I reserved a 20 foot box truck a week in advance at my nearest location (Winnipeg). The afternoon before the planned move of a 3 bedroom home, I received a phone call advising me there were no box trucks available within 8 hours of my location, and I could have a 12 x 6 trailer, which was located an hour away. This was originally offered at full price. (Good thing I own a truck to pull it with and not a car) Did you know a queen size bed will not sit sideways in a 12 Ã— 6 U-haul trailer? Did you know a Fridge will not stand up in that trailer? Did you know a Fridge takes 4 people to lift into the back of a truck over 2 feet up, compared to the ramp one would have with a Box truck? So instead of a single 2 hour drive trip, and being able to do the move in 2 day, it took 2 full days and 4 trips with not only my personal truck and Uhaul trailer, but the girlfriends car. Good thing my helpers were available only on Saturday, as the plan was for the box truck. (By the way only 2 people can be in the trailer loading at a time). It isn't the lack of equipment, as if I had been informed the day after reserving that the equipment was not available I could have made alternate plans, or enlisted help for longer.Brad M.

I'm not very impressed as the how clean the truck and blankets were. My couch and sofa are very dirty it now has black spots on it which it never had before. My sister put the blankets on and when we delivered it to my new place we noticed that the couch had black marks. I will not be renting a uhaul anymore to move.Betty D.
This very old 15' truck gave us no real troubles mechanically, though it is really inclined to wander all over the road---it has the worst handling of any vehicle I have ever driven. And, inside, the cab was filthy. It appeared to have not been cleaned for years---not vacuumed in a very long time (if ever), with all interior surfaces sticky and disgusting. No customer paying $2,000 for a five day rental should ever be given a truck in this condition.ted O.

The staff at Kal-Tire was wonderful. My complaint is with U-Haul, the past two times we rented U-Haul trucks, we received a call confirming our rental. This time I had to call to confirm the rental. On the day of the move, we did not get the equipment we requested (furniture dollies and a 2-wheeler) because the location did not have it available, even after speaking to a U-Haul representative (1-800-468-4285) to make sure the equipment would be there.Elaine L.
Please tell me that this trailer was not the only trailer in Manitoba. I tried to reserve a trailer in Dauphin and it was a 2 week wait time. I went to Winnipeg and was only able to reserve a trailer at this Kal tire location. Then I was charged 30 dollars for insurance on the trailer but on the web site of Uhaul it was zero because I agreed to pay 5000 for the trailer upon any damage. So WTF?garth K.
We were very disappointed with the unit we received. U-Haul knee we were driving long distance across the country and yet we revived a very old, basic truck that didn't have a working radio, the mirror shook none stop, no cruise control, and very bad on fuel. We dropped off the unit beside another 26 foot truck that was nearly brand new, with every feature we would expect for a 16 hour drive. We really feel we deserve some money back, even more so seeing what you could have given us for the money we spent.Michael B.

The fellow that gave me the truck could not answer questions about money he said was owing. I had paid for my rental in full at the time of my online booking. I still don't have answers to why an additional amount was owing above the online booking amount. A charge has appeared on my credit card, but no one I ask will tell me what it is for.
