The location has short hours 9:00. am.-4:30pm
carl gAccessible location. A gravel pad to set equipment on instead of sand would be ideal as the jack mechanism sank in the ground a couple of inches. Overall satisfied with the experience.

Daniel LNot charge so much for a couple extra hours. Got charged for a whole day when I needed just a couple extra hours and I dropped off the trailer at the scheduled time. Never the y'all itself for just an extra hour sure to the storage into not opening until 9 am on the day of drop off.
Tiffany MIt would have been nice to have a chair to sit down on while waiting while the gentleman finished up another reservation on the phone and then did ours. It is a small place, though, so maybe not room fir some kind of seat. Other than that, everything was good.

Adam MThis wasn't my first rental, I originally started in NC where my lights went out and had to deal with a catastrophe. I'll say for the record that the 3rd party vendors are great. It's UHAUL that's the problem. I felt so alone and helpless on the side of the road; had to sleep at a truck stop in Asheville because the lights quit working (yes they were working before we left).. i wanted a refund for the original trailer and for some reason "roadside" thinks I wanted it from them personally but me as a random customer calling "uhaul roadside" presumed I was dealing with... well UHAUL... duh. I wanted them to transfer me to whomever I needed. Nonetheless a random guy came the next day & figured out the trailer in fact had a problem and backed up and just took it... no replacement, nothing. So I continued driving... Here I am renting a different one. I was able to get a receipt of refund but can't confirm I've received it yet. The area field manager in High Point NC was on point as well as the uhaul location I got the first one from. The Michigan dealer in Shelby MI was also great with a smooth process and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately I will not rent from uhaul ever again.

CRAIG RTruck rented had just been returned to location. It was not dirty but mechanically it had not had a chance to be checked out and serviced. As we found out the power steering had a big problem at stop and low speeds and the fan motor for heater and A/C worked only at times, would not run continuously when needed. The gentleman at the pick-up location was very friendly, courteous and very helpful getting us checked out. I would highly recommend Straits Auto Sales for UHaul needs.

MICHAEL RThe self checkout was horrible and a VERY broken system. DON'T DO IT. From U-Haul "Well if you have trouble just call our 24/7 help line" who PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR OVER 45 MINUTES. We also tried online chat who gave us a different # which was CONSTANTLY BUSY. After driving 9 hours for this truck and then an hour trying to check out, this was absolutely not acceptable! We had to give up and drive another hour round-trip in the morning to use a real person. Oh, and that was because "we don't have a truck at your location" which they waited until the day before we were leaving to inform us!!! Seriously?!? Totally lousy service which they get away with. Another thing - they also said the 2 dozen blankets we rented would be in the truck, BUT THEY WERE NOT. Look at your other options for truck rental and DON'T use the self check out. The owner in Shelby was actually very nice.
Chistopher SWe tried to reserve a truck from one of your dealers in Whitehall, Mi., but, the UHaul employee there was unfriendly and almost rude when quoting rates with such a manner that it was almost a dare to rent truck, sort of a take-it-or-leave-it air.So we tried the office at Shelby, Mi. The UHaul employee who answered, Tailor. was positive, friendly. knowledgeable and efficient. He quickly assessed the places we were going, mileage, etc., and determined we could rent a truck the following day. His attitude was so good that although going to Shelby was out of our way, we reserved the truck on the spot. You need more Taylors who know how to treat customers with respect and forthrightness. ROSELINE GThought the equipment would be available near my home esoecially since I reserved several weeks in advance. Not a huge deal, but. The car haulers are outstanding! Track well and don't sway/swerve. Very solid.
Michael BThe truck had been self-returned by the previous customer and was not clean, but it was well-maintained and worked fine. The dealer did his best to clean it up in the short time he had.

Michelle LBuy more U-Haul equipment and have a little extra on hand at all U-Haul locations. This makes it easier and more convenient for customers to drive to closer locations to pick them up. It’s a win-win scenario. No numbers to make that justification. It just makes perfect sense!
Ashok ZWe had originally scheduled our equipment pick up in Hart, MI. Fortunately, I stopped by a day early to have my vehicle pre-checked and discovered that a trailer was not available. He provided me some numbers to call to solve the problem, which was helpful and I was redirected to Shelby. The Shelby location was great. He was very thorough with the hook up and light checks. I will use him again when needed.
