We were moving from a large (1075 sqft) 2-bedroom apartment to a 3-bedroom house. I opted for a 20' truck, per the uHaul website guidelines for the apartment and square footage. At the counter, when I explained the situation, the clerk tried to sell me a 16' truck but I knew that would not be large enough. We had hired a moving company just to load and unload the uHaul so we could save on the transport fees from the moving company. This shortcut backfired on us badly, as they got the truck 75% full and told us we were quickly running out of room...and they hadn't loaded a lot of our goods yet. At that point, they still had a king-size bed and a piano, among other things. We should have gone with the 24' truck! We ended up paying almost $2000 more due to time lost and the securing of another truck (NOT uHaul) to finish the move. I accept responsibility for a bad decision, but I am also upset for uHaul for not listening to my stated needs and trying to talk me into a 16' truck, rather than asking square footage of our apartment and what we had to move. We have never had a bad experience with uHaul prior to this but because this move was botched so badly we will not use uHaul's services or products for any future moves.David V.

Horrible experience with UHAUL. Original location was changed for pickup. I went to new location and couldn't do self pickup. I got sent to original location I had selected and truck was behind a locked gate. No hate on any of the 3 boxes. Could not verify me. Claiming alternate contact was not answering his phone when he was right next to me. No calls incoming. Got sent back to a different location to get truck. I'm never using uhaul again.Ilse S.
Very nice service. I get a truck for moving . Once I got home truck was not starting , then I call there help line no . They respond me within 20 min to send the mechanic and then resolved my problem. Truck is fine neet and cleane easy to drive. Very nice service. Ride share was setup on my end but at the site it was not setup for me to receive keys. Was very unhappy waited over an hour to get my key sales mgr showed up to give me key. Very unhappy....all I was supposed to do was pickup and go. But delayed my move by a whole hour.Orlando G.

They were not doing their job and didn't do things correctly. The truck didn't have a full tank of gas and I had to let them know. They also didn't know if they had a dolly which I had reserved and were ready to send me to another location. They didn't write down my mileage either when I started.Kathleen C.
First thing they want us to go to other area cause he said they are full in space,which is not. Good thing we insisted, and we prevail. They should have told via email/text ahead of time if they cant accomodate it, so not to waste time, in the first place its should not be the problem its just a matter of quality customer service.Rafael H.

Landon was a pleasure to do business with and is very polite and made this the best uhual experience I've had. He really went above and beyond for me today and made sure all 4 of my tires on my personal vehicle were aired up to the right psi. The "U-Haul" personnel were not on sight, no idea if they ever showed up. Business owner was helpful on another matter. I have rented U Haul car hualers several times. This units hydraulic brakes, despite being relatively new, seemed somewhat ineffective. I was not able to relay this to a U Haul rep because none was available at the drop off location.TOBIAS A.

The owner of the car place told me the uhaul guy was there and would try to get him to "work" and talk to me even though it was 15-30 min past opening. Then he had no idea how to use the reservation system. He promised to email a receipt, but then he forgot. Terrible experience.Scott S.

The person did not inspect the truck and told me I was good to go. Then a surprise fuel charge showed up. I filled till auto shutoff at a station less than a mile away and have the receipt. The truck was absolutely on fuel. Very dishonest business to tell a customer everything is good then charge them a surprise.Ryan W.

I reserved my uhaul for 2 days, I returned it after 1 day by placing the key in their drop box in the middle of the night. I called to verify the next morning that the truck would be checked in and was told it already had been. I never received my rental paperwork when I checked out the truck. I only received my paperwork from turning in the trucka week later after receiving a phone call from uhaul asking when I planned on returning the truck to the location. At this point I called and re-visited the location informing them of their mistake. I asked for a paper receipt because I had not gotten anything emailed. The receipt had extra charges on it and I had to return again to ask for them to be refunded back to my card. I have rented several uhaul trucks over the last 20 years and this was my worst experience ever.Kathryn B.
Five days after I rented the U-Haul truck I get a email invoice stating that I owe $800. On the invoice that shows that I use 30 miles which that is a lie because I did my calculation and it was only 19 miles, under the estimated 20 miles, that I had given him when I picked up the U-Haul. I have yet to get any phone call but I emailed with this invoice. I will not be responsible for $800 when I return the truck on the fifth and drop off the keys and I envelope The drop off was a secure box. I even call the next day verifying that they got the keys and the guy that answered said yes...Amber A.

The truck was not ready for us at the reserved time which in turn cost me 2 hrs more ($115.00 extra) for movers since they were on time. A credit was given for $50 and no mileage costs, yet we weren't told what level of gas to bring it back with. Biggest issue is that it seems that the system the reservations are taken on doesn't integrate with the system the actual UHaul locations are using so when I picked up my UHaul the guy said he couldn't see my reservation. One, this wasn't my problem. Two, this should probably be re-evaluated.TJ M.

We were supposed to pick up truck at a certain location at 7 a.m. Got an email the day before saying we could pick it up after 9 a.m. at a different place I called and talked to some girl who totally did not know what she was talking about because she kept insisting over and over that I was wrong even though I had an email. The trailer was not safe to be used on the road. Both tires were nearly bald and were cupped all around the circumference. There were wires hanging down almost touching the pavement. I refused to rent the trailer offered. I was directed to another location, where they had more trailer options. They were helpful and switched out the unsafe trailer to a safe one. However, when I returned the trailer, they could not figure out the paper work because of the trailer swap out. It took from Sunday to Tuesday to get the bill and receipt settled. Overall the trailers in the fleet are just extremely old and worn out. There does not seem to be any quality control in the system to check rentals from one return to the next rental. What can we do to improve for the next customer???? Introduce new trailers into your fleet on an accelerated pace. Provide a quality check after each rental is returned to provide a safe vehicle for the next customer.Robert S.
Train people hooking up equipment. They did not know how to move the trailer and did not hook the chains or tighten to the ball. When loading vehicle the trailer disconnected and lifted in the front. You guys are pretty lucky no damage was caused to my truck.Bryce S.

The first 2 locations were horrible. The 2nd on Vance Jackson the man was rude when I questioned the truck size( uhaul chged my size wo asking) sent me 45 min across town. Very difficult to deal w. Thanks for the Summitt location where the service was outstanding and efficient . I received many emails w location chges, confirmations, and at the end they were all wrong from what I ordered online. The Summitt location was the only good part of the experience .MITZI S.
