Pat’s, at the pick-up location, favorite respond to all my questions was ‘I don’t know anything, I just rent out the trucks.’ He could not even answer basic questions such as checking my confirmation. It took over 30mins just to pick-up because he did not know how to access my reservation on the computer; I was the only customer. He did not check the truck prior to my arrival to ensure the mileage and gas reading match the system paperwork. The system claimed the truck is on ‘Full’ tank of gas when the truck was half full. Luckily I was smart enough to show him the gas reading on the truck prior to leaving the lot. The town is small, business is not abundant, he could have been proactive during the time I was gone (3hrs) to call the Uhaul distribution office to figure out what he needs to do at check-in when I return the truck regarding the gas reading. This lead me to spending a long time to return the truck waiting for him to call somewhat to figure out what he needs to do; this could have been a simple and quick process. My only positive comment is that he ensured I did not get charged for gas due to un-matching record of the system. Nonetheless, the whole time I spent picking and dropping of the truck was a third of the time I used it. I have rent from Uhaul many times. For sure this was the least smooth experience.
