I realize staffing might be an issue but it was long to check out as the poor pleasant clerk had to check out other people

Staff was quick and courteous during pickup and drop off, no complaints whatsoever with them. Only problem was We had an older truck that needs to be retired. The radio was very staticy/cut in and out, the ABS light was on, the steering is loose allowing the truck to wander, it could vibrate the teeth out of your head on the highway and had various rattling noises so loud it was hard to carry conversation. We would gladly return to the location we worked with provided we are able to get a truck in better condition.

Roof of 5 X5 trailer had a lot of duct tape patches blowing in the wind. I rented an enclosed trailer that I expected to be water tight. There were signs of water damage inside the trailer. I had no choice. The rental agent expected me to provide the labor for trailer connection to tow vehicle and balked at missing connection components. The rental agent also suggested connecting the trailer with incorrect methods.

Pick up went pretty smoothly, so I have nothing to complain about until I returned the vehicle. Employee that was dividing his time between working the busy counter at a gas station/convenience store U-Haul rentals in returns. 45 minutes to return the vehicle frustrating. Experience returning the U-Haul Baldwin location last week. Inns are grossly understaffed and it has a seriously negative impact on the customer experience.

Staff said they weren't trained to help with Uhaul returns. Long lines and waits for no service. Staff gave phone number for store manager who did not answer phone.

They nit picked where the gas was. The gauges are not exact like the paper. Said i didn't have 5/8 in the tank but there is no mark on the gauge for 5/8. Only 1/2 and 3/4 i had it as close to in between there as I could get and he want me to put another $4 in or be charged $8. Whatever. Charge me the 8. And the link to say what was wrong with the truck would not work. I also had to drive 13 miles out of my way to get the truck. Thats 13 miles i had to pay for, well an additional 26, on top of what i was using it for. I didn't wait til the last minute to reserve a truck. I was staying local. UHAUL could have set up something close so I didn't have to pay that extra mileage. Wont happened again. I'll rent somewhere else next time.
