Ashlynn ONever have I had such a messed up experience with Uhaul. I've been renting trucks & storage space for probably 20 years. Granted this is the first time I've had to rent a truck in Illinois. I live in Missouri & love the Uhauls here. Apparently in Illinois they take no responsibility for anything. i originally called Uhaul 1 week in advance to reserve my 10' truck & dollie. I was told they would call me back in 3 days to go over my rental. I never received a call back so I called them on the 4th day & was told they don't have a 10' truck for me or a dollie! What is the point of reserving a truck if they don't keep your reservation. Never has that happened to me in Missouri. I will never rent a uhaul vehicle in Illinois again. When I was asking them why they didn't have my rental they proceeded to tell me that they aren't really a Uhaul!? Excuse me? Then on top of that after being rerouted to 2 other places we finally go to pick up our truck & at first he couldn't find the dollie & when we finally get our keys we walk out to the truck & it's buried under 6 inches of snow!! Then he takes his time coming out with a broom & only clears off the drivers side windshield. To add insult to injury, I'm handicapped & theres a pile of snow in front of our rental truck. The guy says to us. just gun it over the hill of snow! This is a complete & utter nightmare. We were late getting to our destination because of all the craziness we had to go through just to get the truck. You would think they at least had the common courtesy to unearth the truck for us!! Returning the truck in Missouri was pleasant & easy, no problems as usual & we were on our way within a few minutes. Illinois is a bad representation of Uhaul, they don't care!!!

EARL REveryone @ the store was helpful and courteous. I feel confident with the skills they had about using UHaul rentals. However, the tow dolly we got did not have a second chain for both tires. It all turned out fine but we were nervous about it and had to check the car and straps often since we were traveling 2000 miles. I think that should be a priority check BEFORE picking up the rental. I would advise doing that for your renters going forward.

NANCY TCar was dirty and smelled terrible. I only continued with the rental as I absolutely had no other choice. Completely disappointed. My previous experience with was was great but this was disgusting.

matt dThere was no key in my key box when I showed up at 7:30 am for pickup. This delayed our move 2-hours. The pickup requires the app usage and the app requires more info and ID that I was not aware of upon showing up. This needs to be told to users BEFORE they show up so they can bring the required info/IDs needed.

ROBERT CThe people working at this location did not offer to unhook the trailer or even explain how to do so safely. My step-father almost hurt himself very badly because the trailer started to roll when he finally unhooked it, and it pulled him off balance. He’s 60 years old and a fall like that would have been detrimental
Haley CI rented a new vehicle at one location, was directed to another vehicle at a second location, and turned in the UHaul after normal business hours. All went well otherwise.

Brian FHowever, the check-in and check-out process was complicated. I am not sure we would use this "remote" process again. Next time we will wait until we can do this process in person.
John PThe location was fine. However, The process to pick up the truck before opening hours was completely ineffective and a waste of time, and I had to wait until the store opened to get assistance.

Chris CNice employees. Only caution here is the tight back in location in the rear of the building, the front lot also is a little tight. Not really a problem for the driveable trucks, but renters should be confident about backing in the trailers.

Kyle KHave equipment road ready when a customer with a reservation arrives. Don't do temporary fixes to equipment that prevents your customers from being able to safely drive at night or during a storm.
