Jonathan MThis has nothing to do with either location but is about Uhaul as a company. I reserved a 10 ft truck almost a month ago in Syracuse and a couple days before picking it up was told I had to drive to Oswego to pick it up. After driving 47 min out of my way I was told that the truck had never shown up and that there were no trucks in the area and there was simply nothing they could do. I had to be out of my apartment the next day so took a trailer instead and the whole debacle took 5 hours out of my day, being hung up on with Uhaul, driving around Oswego, purchasing a ball for my hitch, and towing a trailer back. I did not want a trailer and was terrified of driving it on the highway-at 45-50 mph it began to sway and I instinctively tapped on the brakes and tried to steer. Due to inexperience I jackknifed across three lanes of traffic and ended up facing oncoming traffic. I may have mentioned this, but I had reserved a truck in Syracuse, not a death trap from Oswego. I will not be using this service again if there are any other options.
Elizabeth VVery good experience. The personnel were very helpful,courteous and very professional. Very definitely glad to do it again . I will be moving into a permanent residence 8-1-22 and will most likely rent a unit again at that time from Tinkertown Hardware.

evellia bWhen we dropped off the U-Haul the person who took the keys told us that had no knowledge that we were dropping of the truck. When it was explained to him that the U-Haulnin Jamestown told us to find the nearest one to drop it off the person working was like we don’t have the paperwork. We were like we were told we could drop it off anywhere, you accept and rent out uhaul a so it is perfectly ok to leave it here.

My only complaint was how slippery the inside of the truck got with the slightest bit of snow. I might install some grip tape or something to reduce this, luckily those cloth throws were available to help this. Otherwise, a very great service!
Ryan MI was really happy with my experience at Tinkertown Hardware. The truck was clean, drove well and was ready and waiting for me when I got there. Returning it was fast and easy. 10/10 would recommend to a friend or use them again.
CHALLICE RTinker Town Hardware is the best. The staff are so helpful. The equipment is always ready to go and in good working condition. They even helped me problem solve a hitch and lights issue. I try to use them whenever I need a uhaul or anything hardware.

Greg WI certainly would have preferred to have the equipment I reserved actually at the U-Haul facility I requested over a month in advance, instead of more an hour and a half away from me! IT WAS EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT.
Duane BRoger at Tinkertown Hardware was great as well as his staff. The bummer was availability in Westren NY. Original pick up was at Rochester Airport but had to drive 3 hour round trip to get trailer - a big time suck. That's it.

LISA MMake sure the have everything they rented. I rented 2 dozen furniture covers and when I got to my apartment and open the back. No furniture covers, but a appliance dolly was there that I didn’t rent.
Tina HTrailer was not good. It shook my GMC all the way from Florida to New York. Tire blew out in Columbia causing 2 extra hours on our trip. I will say your emergency service was excellent in replacing the tire.
