We arrived, and there was nobody in the office, which was basically a converted mobile home with sagging steps. We went over to the tire place and the guys there told us that the truck guy was around somewhere. The guy who helps with the UHaul trucks was located. He said that he had the key to the truck, but nobody had called him about our reservation. He handed his phone to me to speak to someone who said we needed to upload a driver’s license. Several folks arrived to pick up tires, so the guy who had been helping us started working with them. After we finished the driver’s license thing (nobody told us this was needed in advance), we had to wait until the truck guy was done working with the tire customers (but nobody communicated that to us, so we were just standing around waiting). The location overall was poorly maintained, with tires stacked up on most of the lot and poorly maintained signs.

I got over charged by $127.00 , waiting for my money back
Ashley SI was charged extra $10 for gas after returning the truck. However, I took a picture of the gas gauge before and after my trip and made sure to fill it to the same spot. I should have been charged extra.
CHRISTIAN GWorst UHaul experience I've ever had. If I could give it negative stars I would. I will NEVER come back and use UHaul as a company again.
Jimmy CDon't use that location ever
Bobby RReceived the truck with less than 1/4 tank of gas. Had an empty liquor bottle in driver seat. Pick up was confusing. Smelled like a wet dog inside. No one came to look over truck with me which felt super weird. Horrible experience but needed the truck in an emergency
David LI wouldn’t recommend this one because it was confusing as you have to do everything online, then wait for a code then wait for the worker from tire shop to be free to get the key.
Kimberly BDo not rent from this location!!
Nicole LThe vender inaccurately reported the mileage I drove on the truck and I was unjustly charged an extra $80. I spoke with a representative and the issue has not yet been resolved. I believe this looks very back on U-haul for partnering with such a poorly managed vendor.
Daniel HDon't allow them to rent your trucks. Customer service is unavailable unless you speak spanish, or they decide to call the boss at home. They don't check trucks or contract terms and overcharge you because they're too busy doing tires.
Chuck TCurrently in the middle of a dispute, this location has attempted to charge me for 28 extra days because they never contacted me or went out and checked if the truck was returned. Based on this experience I’ll probably be looking for alternatives to Uhaul for my next move. If you’re moving to Richmond, I would strongly recommend finding a different drop-off location.
Alex AI mistakenly dropped off truck at wrong location. The U-Haul manager quickly corrected my documentation, picked up the truck and closed out my rental. Their customer service was excellent!!!
Trudy HThis has been a nightmare. I rented the truck on April 20th at around 10:30 am and dropped it off with a full tank of gas about an hour and a half later. I got a charge for $50-some on my credit card and all seemed okay until six days later when I got a new $349.00 charge out of nowhere. The idiots at the facility said I never returned the truck and charged me rental and insurance for every day up to that point. They also said that the truck was 5/8 full of gas which was an outright lie. They charged me $55 for gas alone. These people at the hole-in-the-wall location on Laburnum Ave are either 1) THIEVES 2) IDIOTS or 3) BOTH. I think it's option 3. Someone call me back and fix this issue.
