the uhaul drove terribly, the steering was completely off, making it scary to drive the ac would shut off and not cool down. the ramp was a pain. I told the person when I returned the vehicle and I feel like i should get a discount cause I was terrified to drive this rental.DALTON L.
Loud, very very loud, while driving. It's been decades since having to roll a window up/down manually...no cruise control, well, the only current day vehicle automation was the seat belt warning. Felt like I was back in the 60(s). We had a very long ways to go and we got hoarse, noise, yelling a simple comment the entire trip. Next time I'll hire a moving company. GeezzMonte R.

Easy rental. In and out in no time at all. The only complaint I would say I had Is that I was told that the fuel was at a quarter of a tank but when I got into drive away it was almost on empty and had to go to the gas station immediately to put fuel in. But that wasn't really a big deal compared to how easy everything else was for the rental.Trina L.

Always carefully read the contract. We were told 4 bucks per gallon if the tank was low. We did not go very far and it looks the same when we checked. They charged us 30 bucks for having to put gas in the tank and 24 for gas we drove 29 miles.MATTHEW D.

Was charged a bogus cleaning. I was accused of not sweeping the truck and not putting away the blankets. I have 2 witnesses that can attest that I did sweep. With regards to the blankets I was never instructed to put them away, with Coronavirus I assumed they are washed after every use since each customer is using them...but I guess they are not. Note to self next time you use their blankets...who knows how long it's been since they've been washed.Sergio M.

It was rated average because it had no vehicles on the premises. One has to call in advance to schedule a vehicle that comes from a larger location nearby. But the fact that I didn't need a vehicle for at least a week and that the distance from my home to this location was short, it best fit my needs. If had needed a vehicle that day, i would have had to have gone to another location with greater inventory on hand.Michael W.

Online check in/pick up process is horrible. â€œDue to high amount of requestsâ€ it took 40 mins to get approval. It's awful when the days are 100 degrees and you try to get the move done early morning and have to wait that long. Also, an appliance dolly was requested but not received in the truck. i didnt order the blankets and dolly , they were in there and if i broke the seal im pretty sure I would have been charged for them , which is strange because im pretty sure I could have used that space for ...my stuff.... my only other criticism is that I wasn't able to pick up my uhaul on schedule , which is irritating, BUT Austin at location was 100% on it advising me hours earlier of the delay which was helpful and then calling me as soon as the uhaul was available which was great. Also got me the keys once on location MUCH faster than usual uhaul service. Made the inconvenience feel less like an inconvenience.Aaron P.
The over the phone U-Haul customer service was terrible. I was first lied to by a representative telling me I couldn't walk into this location to make a reservation. She insisted I make my reservation over the phone with her. I did not appreciate the pressure to make a reservation with her. She also told me they closed at 6 pm, but they closed at 5 pm. She was not nice or helpful. When I actually drove to the location because I had a feeling they were closing at 5 pm, I found out I could reserve a truck sooner than the lady told me. However, since my preferred location was an affiliate U-Haul, the employee couldn't find my reservation since U- Haul assigned me to a different location. I had to call customer service, I was transferred and then hung up on. I called again and was told my reservation couldn't be deleted or edited. After finally reaching a manager, it took a couple minutes to change my reservation so I could rent at the preferred location where I was at. Overall the customer service representatives did a horrible job of helping me. It shouldn't have taken 45 minutes of being on the phone. The employee at this location should have access to my reservation to help me. Being assigned to a different location was not what I wanted and it shouldn't have removed my reservation from his access. Austin, the site manager at Towne Storage West Valley did an AMAZING job! He helped us out, let us wait in his office while on the phone with U- Haul, and even stayed past closing to make sure we got a tuck. This should not have been such a hassle. I will never deal with U-Haul directly again.VICTORIA F.

Don't rent the van with a quarter tank of gas! The tank should be full at time of pick up. It made it very inconvenient when we were on a time table to have to fill up with fuel before even starting our day. In addition what a difficult situation you put your customers in to attempt to return it with exactly a quarter of tank. Otherwise the online checkout and return made the process easy.Trina J.
I was charged 29.99 for a truck that says on the side that it is 19.99 a day, but I was charged 29.99. I only had this truck for two and a half hours to pick up a water heater and take it back home. This location is not the one I originally wanted. It was about 30 miles from where I wanted to pick up the truck, so I would have appreciated them not counting the first 30 miles toward total mileage. Also, this location was much closer to our drop off point and I could have just switched the reservation to drop it off at this location, but the personnel didn't tell me about the $39.95 plus mileage rate (which would have saved me about $50) until after putting the original reservation on my credit card. Also, I reserved a dozen moving blankets, but they didn't have them at my pick up location. I had to drive to yet another location to get blankets. It seems to me if I've bothered to make a reservation for equipment, my reservation should be fulfilled at the location I'm supposed to go to. I was told I had to take the blankets back to their original location, but when I took the truck back, they said I should have brought the blankets back with the truck. It seems there could have been better communication between the three different places I had to go.Rebecca A.

Very clean, easy to access & drive. This was the first time I've used UHAUL myself. The only thing I would change about the experience is if the person would do a quick walk through w/the vehicle. ie: lights,signals, emergency break, lock for back. Etc. I called five different UHaul locations. I was told there were no 10ft trucks anywhere in the SLC valley. I had to rent a 15ft truck which cost me more and only 1 could be found (I was told). Yet as I drove to a far away location to pick it up I passed two UHaul stores with plenty of 10ft and 12ft trucks sitting in their lots. I was told that they checked everywhere in the valley. Very frustrating. Also had to wait due to the UHaul web site an extra long time when trying to pick up the truck.joyce F.
