I was supposed to drop off at a different location on El Camino and Howe but the operator refused. Stated he didn't have room even though there was only one truck in his lot. Rude and indifferent to me. You should consider more stringent guidelines for your franchise's

The manager and the gentleman who checked out my rental truck were very professional and helpful but glitches with the computer system made the process take quite a while. When returning the truck, there was an extremely long wait. It was a busy time and they seemed to be short of help. Once the manager was able to take care of me, he apologized and quickly checked me out.

I have rented from this location before and it has always gone smoothly except when U-Haul has transferred my rental to another location at the last minute. I have learned not to rent from U-Haul on the last weekend of the month - you might not get your truck! Or, you might get a smaller one than the truck you thought you reserved. Or, they might move your pickup location to another U-Haul, texting you about it at the very last minute as you are driving to where you thought you were picking up the truck, and then, now that your truck is at a location further away and not so convenient, they have the nerve to charge you the extra mileage!! Not to mention the extra gas you have to use and pay for. This location does a great job as long as it's not the last weekend of the month (and that is a corporate issue for letting people reserve more trucks than are available), not an issue with this location.

Yeah, so I had a small mistake on my receipt, or contract, when I dropped off my truck. I called the next morning, the front desk was extremely helpful, problem solved. I recommend this location to all of my family and friends. Thanks U-Haul

When I return the trailer, one employee was busy helping customers and six were inside the building. Doing what I have no idea. The lone working employee radioed for help, but no one responded, so I had to wait until he helped four other customers. Management needs to improve their customer service policy and enforce it.

- The box security was questionable when it was dropped off. The bottom tab barely worked and then screws on the door were not mounted well. - The lock was in tact when it arrived in Alsip bit the bottom tab lock was open and the hardware next to the lock looked like someone tried to enter forcibly. Nothing was taken but the screws basically all fell out when I opened the container yesterday. It was clearly not maintained. - Only one thing has a bit of damage. It was in the front where the box appeared to be tampered with. - The blankets were all very useful as I wrapped the boxes and the few pieces of furniture. They were EXTRTEMELY dust and dirty and I was coughing when I packed the box and all last night after the brief encounter with them. They really needed to be washed. Anyhow, overall good but several concerns. How do I file the claim? Thanks, Sandra

I am most upset at corporate uhaul. They called me and said I could pick up the truck that night using the 24 hour pickup app. However, when I got there the app didn’t work and I didn’t receive the email I needed until the next morning. I was PISSED OFF and I had to pay for an extra cab ride. I viewed the instruction manual so I don’t think it was user error. I also called the uhaul help and they reset the time, but the email still didn’t get there in time.

There were 6 people in.line and 1 person working when I went in to pick up my key. I used the little human interaction option and thought getting my key would take less than a minute. 35 minutes later I walked out with the key. Completely unacceptable. Drop off was simple and efficient.

When you put a hold on a credit card for the money to purchase the truck rental if all the money is not spent you should take the hold off right away on the credit card very important for the customer

we have moved 12 times in the past 11 years using various truck rental companies and this was hands down, by far and by a wide margin, our best experience!!!

The pickup had mud that had already dried on the hand grip of the passenger seat. The dashboard apparently was cleaned with some unclean piece of fabric or sponge. The truck seemed like it was driven through some mud before arriving back to the H-haul station.

I rented a haul truck for a few hours to move from here to Folsom. as I picked watched the individual clean and get the mileage on the truck I noticed he was pressing the odometer button way too many times. I figured it was nothing.. So after he turned over the truck I did my move 14 miles here and back total mileage I did was 56 They overcharged the shit out of me. Charged me for a full 24 hours and 101 miles. I turned the vehicle back a few hours after I rented it. They sucked all my money from me. I was due $33.00 which they only reimbursed me $2.50. I talked with the general manager on 2 occasssions which he stated over and over paperwork don't lie it says you did 101 miles. I turned the vehicle in a few hours they were closed at 5 pm dropped the vehicle keys in the slot. Went the next day the truck was not in the same spot. How do I know they didn't rent it to someone else that morning let them use it and charge me for the mileage.. I tell you I will not be using haul ever again. I would not recommend this place to no one.

The first trailer I took had brake problems and I returned it in about 10 minutes and they quickly exchanged it for a good trailer. The express check-in was super! I filled the tank up with gas right before I dropped it of at night . The customer service representative told me they charged me because I didn’t put gas in it . I explained I did and his answer is the truck isn’t here so I can’t check it . Very poor customer service and tried to over charge me ‘. I will never rent from here again .

This was not the location I had selected. When I made my reservation, your website asked me what U-Haul location was closest to me, in this case, my mother-in-law's house in Rancho Murrieta. I selected U-Haul Moving and Storage of Mather at 10161 Mills Station, Sacramento from your menu. I entered my credit card and printed a receipt. Using that receipt with the address on it, I drove to that location to pick-up my truck. It was then I was told that my truck wasn't there and that I had made a mistake. I showed the young lady my printed receipt and the words "PICK UP" and her complete address. It was then she pointed to the fine print and the words "This location is preference only." What the hell does that even mean? Your website gave me a list of locations near me. I selected one. You confirmed it and gave me an Order/Confirmation#. My only duty at that point was to show up at the appointed time with my driver's license. I was quite shocked to find out that U-Haul of Mather didn't have a truck for me. (I counted seven in the parking lot.) For some reason as this was happening to me, the entire U-Haul computer system went down. I found this out after driving another 20 miles trying to find U-Haul of El Camino. A location I would not have selected as it's was too far away and located in a very bad neighborhood. When I arrived I was told there was no way to rent me a truck because the computers were down. No back-up plan? No carbon-copy forms like the old days? Every location relies on the one system? I'll bet this location lost 10 customers just while we waiting there. Oh, and we had to wait. We had no other choice! If that was where the truck was going to be rented from, why didn't you tell me that in the first place? What if I had come from the airport? Taken a cab or Uber to U-Haul of Mather as my reservation indicated? I would have been really stuck! As it was, I spent nearly an hour trying to get this resolved over the phone. (I was cut off or dropped three times!) As my luck started to change when the computers came back to life and we were able to rent a 20' truck and be on our way. In all, I was delayed two full hours and exasperated beyond belief. I checked on Yelp when I looked up the U-Haul Mather location and saw many other upset customers who had experienced the exact same thing. They made a reservation for that location only to find out their rental was somewhere else. How can you do business like this? If I landed in Phoenix and went to pick up my rental car only to discover it was in Tucson instead, I'd never to business with that company again.

The truck either smelled like urine or antifreeze, I couldn't tell. Also, the gas ran out quickly. I went 23 miles and a whole quarter of a tank was down to empty. I don't know if there was a leak in the gas line or what but to get it back where I got it, I had to put $23 in the tank at $2.70/gallon. So basically $1/mile or 3 miles per gallon. There was traffic when I got the truck and mostly freeway, not many hills so it was definitely excessive.

Phone support made mistakes on the changes that i asked. The original pickup location was closed on the day of pickup. The dropoff location changed without any notice.

Counter help or customer service was very good until return. Their were two clerks and two customers Colin was on phone young girl finished with the customer and then walked away. Colin did finish transaction once off the phone. I mention that it is not nice to leave without a hellow or be with you in a moment . Again not I am sorry she rolled her eyes and looked away. I feel renting out a truck with only a 1/4 tank of gas is bad customer service. Trucks should be required to come back with at least 1/2 tank. It is not fair to a customer to have to possibly get gas twice - while still using the truck and then again, before returning it. Also, although the gas gauge for our rental was originally marked as 3/8 while I was in the store, when the agent went out to the truck to double check, it was actually 1/4. Then, when I got into the truck, I felt it was actually just below 1/4, but I just had too much to do and too much other stuff to worry about to go back inside to argue about it. Still, 1/4 tank is poor service.

We are being charged for miles we did not drive and could not have driven. We only drove at the max 40miles and they are charging us over 100 miles. We filled up the gas to the line that the truck was at and are being charged extra money for that as well. We are very disappointed that the manger is not listening to our problem and treating us with total disrespect. It is just awful experience. I truly think that Uhual does cheat people out of money.

My Uhaul experience was horrible! I reserved a cargo van for a particular location and somehow the system routed my requested to a location I didn't request. I received two confirmations, one was for the location I requested and the other not. I called the location of the one I did not want to pick up from due to distance, and the gentlemen answering the phone could not explain to me why my request was sent to his location. He said that he would cancel it since I have a reservation at another location. A few hours later I go to my selected location and they have no van and no reservations on file. The Uhaul team on Auburn Blvd was very rude and pretty much told me oh well. I left pissed as I was moving long distance that day. I called in frustration, the gentlemen was very helpful and transferred me to someone does out of town moves. The gal was not able to get me a cargo van, but she was able to secure a small truck (at this point I'm happy to get something, but pissed it will cost more in gas). I get to the location of reservation, which was at a convenient store. It was very hot inside, the gentlemen made me wait for approximately 7 minutes as he continued on with his personal conversation over the phone. He asked me to write my name and drivers license down and I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing that. When he asked what location I was going to, he told me he didn't do one way trips. I'm complete frustrations at this point, I called Uhaul back, and was transferred to a gentlemen who had poor customer (not surprised at this point) service. He placed me on hold to call that Uhaul location and got back on the line to say that he would file a compliant against that location because he could refuse to do a one way trip. He then was able to find another truck on El Camino. I went to that location and much to my surprise I was able to get the truck. However, because I elected to pay for everything up front with the original reservation, the funds were tied up with my bank so I had to come out the pocket again when I was already on a tight budget. When I spoke with the gal she reassured me that wouldn't happen but it did. Also, I was told that I would receive a credit of $50 for my reservation that was not completed due to Uhaul's representative refusing to rent for a one way. I'm in complete disgust with Uhaul and their lack of communication and ability to follow through with their promises. I would never rent or deal with this company ever again. Stay way!!!!!!!! Their are many other options.

rented this same trailer last weekend. they fixed the flat tire but did not rivet back the bent plate on the tail gate. all lights passed befor we left in daylight . when we turned on the running lights they worked until we were driving and then we blew a fuse. there is a short in the wiring when under motion and flexing. left a blue tape note on the trailer dropped off after hours. called in am.

To be clear, the gentleman at the site was great. The lady at the phone was speechless. I called several times to try changing my drop off location to somewhere closer to my place, including the drop off office, online chat, customer service number. All the calls ended up forwarding to this drop off location. I spoke with this lady who claimed to be the manager at the office. I have to say it was the worst customer service I ever had in my life. I would not recommend anyone to call this location, especially speaking to this so-called manager. The return experience was great. The gentleman who assisted me returning the vehicle was awesome. He was so friendly that he deserves a better recognition. Perhaps "someone" should learn customer service from him .

I arrived one hour early. They only had 2 staff working the counter and the line was outside the door. My order was wrong, the contract total was incorrect and I had to do the math for her to prove it was wrong. When I came to return the trailer the next day the doors did not open until 9:05. Slow and later seems to be the standard for this location.

i was charged $103 for being late because my trailer had a plate (license) that was missing more than half of it. Broken off. I was stopped at Arizona/california check point and told to return it but was told by u haul to use it anyway. The whole situation was very unprofessional by Uhaul in Sacramento. Was told they would take care of it, When I asked about Extra charge. They did, they charged my credit card after I left without even telling me. I did not authorize the charge or sign for it and never recieved a reciept. Still waiting for a call back from them.

I reserved a truck online, but I still had to stand in line for about 20 minutes before I was able to pick up the truck. I had reserved a furniture dolly online, but they failed to provide me with a furniture dolly, but still charged me for it. I called customer service and was told I'd vee refunded for the dolly and being overcharged for three mattress covers. I was still charged for them. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN.

I had problems finding the location because MapQuest had me exiting from Interstate 80 when the location was off Business Loop 80. When I called to get directions, the employee couldn't tell me where they were located. When I finally arrived and mentioned the issue, another employee told me it was a common complaint. If it's a common complaint, UHaul should be addressing the issue with MapQuest and the employees should all know about this issue in order to help people who are misdirected. It really made me feel like they didn't care.

Took me 25 minutes to help me when I got there and then another 20 minutes to get the uhaul. I requested it from 4-8 and didn't even get to drive out of there before 445. Because the staff was chit chatting about personal drama. Additionally I turned it in 30 minutes early and filled it up to (3/8ths) of a tank which is what it had when I got it. And they charged me an additional 13 dollars saying I only turned it in at a quarter of a tank. Bullshit. Worst service ever.

I was told that the truck was inspected by an employee before it was released to me. When I got home to load my truck there was garbage and bullet shells left behind. They had me drive the truck back to the store to switch it out, which was very inconvenient for me. Upon dropping this truck off the u-haul employees I dealt with seemed to have an attitude as if it were them who had been inconvenienced. I wasn't offered anything. Not even an apology for a mistake that was on their end. I wouldn't recommend this location.

I reserved a Van 2 weeks in advance at my local U-Haul Center in Elk Grove (master order #29733488 ), which is less than 1 mile from my home. I had only one full day to take care of this move. On Saturday morning 9/16/17, a day where I feared that there was not going to be enough hours in the day to do what I needed to do, my local U-Haul location let me down and did not have a van for me to used! Their reason... the previous family had not returned the van. This branch gave me no other options... I.e. a larger truck as an alternative. Instead, they said they would call me with options. I ended up having to drive an additional 22 miles round trip (which I was charged for) in order to secure a cargo Van . My day started way late because of U-haul and the Van I was issued was not just dirty, it was filthy! Come on guys, you can do better than this. I reserved a van in advance. Gave you my credit card and still got an attitude from the folks at Elk Grove. Their answer...."The people never brought the Van back last night... not our fault." So I guess it was MY fault for choosing U-Haul . I guess it will be Ryder or Enterprise in June when I move my daughter back home from University.

So I rent from the West Sacramento location all the time, but this time they did not have the equipment available to rent. So I saw the El Camino location did. When I arrived there was 1 customer ahead of me. When it was my turn, I got my paperwork pretty quick. But I noticed that the trailer that they game me was missing bolts and just all around bad shape. I feel that this trailer should not even be one that customers can rent. It was in bad shape. Even the employee that I talked to when I brought it back said something about it.

The original UBox reservation was made for loading at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Mather, but on the day the week the box was to be loaded it had been switched to this location. The staff at this location made it clear that they could not have cared less about giving us access to the box or being helpful in any way. I had to get on the phone to arrange for payment and spent an hour and a half being transferred around before the payment was made to the card the was ON FILE WHEN THE RESERVATION WAS MADE. Again, the personnel at this location could not have cared less and were not only NOT helpful they were antagonistic. I would have given then 0 stars and I will tell anyone that asks me about the U-Haul UBox experience to not use this facility - U-Haul at El Camino Ave.

Hire more people and properly staff this location, and ensure the vehicles are clean. The vehicle I rented came "from Burning Man and the cleaning crew is supposed to clean it but they didn't do a good job". Also, we waited over 15 minutes in the morning to rent it, and 30 minutes to return in the afternoon. The location had one man outside to inspect vehicles, one lady tried to buy propane and waited 20 minutes only to be told no one could help her, and the inside had one staffer to process a very long line of customers. My husband also watched a drug deal go down right next to the front door, and was asked by multiple "customers" to give them rides to various parts of town. Very poor experience, and I will never rent a UHaul again if I can help it, and definitely will never return to the El Camino location.

I stopped at this location early in the morning with to get a uhaul there was a lady there with a very poor attitude already treating customers poorly there was a long line I waited 20 minutes just to get to the front the lady aked me if I had a reservation and before I even finished my sentence she rudley interrupted me and said they don't have anything available at that location and didn't offer to check the surrounding area for the one I needed... why should I have to wait so long if there is nothing available just tell the customers in line that there currently isn't anything available besides reserves vehicles so they don't waste the customers time I got up walked out and she screamed "next in line"... being so frustrated with youre employees poor attitude and poor service I drove to the next location just to find out if they had anything which they did not but the nice gentleman helped me make a reservation for one nearby unlike the rude employee at the previous location so I go to the next location to pick up my vehicle just to find out that there is no uhaul representative available to help me just some guy sitting in the office telling me that the representative isn't going to be in today and there was lockboxes on the wall and I have to have a code to get into it and get a key for my vehicle being so frustrated with the service I had been provided throughout 3 HOURS of running around trying to find a damn uhaul I called the customer service number and got one reserves at the first location I stopped at in the morning I had to reschedule my move for a later time wich threw everything off and angered me very much the least uhaul can do is either reprimand the employee who rudely blew me off in the morning or credit my card back with some of the 91 dollars I paid for an absolutely horrible experience I would definitely not recommend any of the locations I stopped at today to anyone

everything single dealings I have had with u haul has been horrific!!! from you losing my containers, dropping me out of your computer, not taking your payments with autowithdrawl, not billing me correctly just sending me a late notice fee and preliens and liens on my storage units. I have made numerous calls trying to rectify accounts with you & have it all documented as who I spoke with and what was said and date. I called and called on a weekly bases. I really am angry with your company for charging me all this extra money when it was your company that dropped the ball. You really need to refund me my money!!!! I called a week ahead of time as to when I was going to get my u boxes and was told I would get a text the day before to say if I was to el Camino location or the Arden location, never got a text. I had to wait 4 hours for you guys to get them transferred from Arden to el Camino, because you only store at Arden. Mean while I am paying two guys to help me unload and reload to a truck, hence so I wouldn't have to deal with you incompetent people again!! I will never deal with U Haul again as will nobody I know.PS you need to train your staff better nobody knows what the hell is going on, that includes managers of the store, that's pretty sad. Pc. This location was hard for me to get to unlike three other locations there were close to where I live where I was supposed to pick up my trailer. Waited in line with no apologies or anyone letting us know they would be right with us, for about 15 minutes (after the 11:15 am reservation). Then was told we didn't have a truck available and that the call center was overbooking . This is also all after I had called the day before getting the run around , having to speak to three different people after being hung up on as well. Would speak to one person have everything set up just to speak with scheduling and they didn't even have the truck the person made me a reservation for two separate times. Finally made another reservation for the next morning and this happens. Finally at around almost 12 pm ,45 minutes after our original reservation we got our truck wth no apologies or friendly service .

Your company recommended 5 boxes and we had to order 2 more which caused a delay and Alot of extra money. When returning the uhaul I went to the gas station to fill it up to the level the gas was before. I had to fill up the gas tank three times because it wouldn't show that the gas level was going up and of course I waited on between all those times to see if it would go up. When I have gotten to the uhaul drop off location the gas tank showed that it was full tank when I needed to only fill it up to 3/8. I should have received a refund for the over payment but till this day no one has called me back. The guy there told me to call and speak with the manager. I called to speak to a manager for 5 days straight and every time they would tell me that the manager will call me back. I would not use this uhaul place again. Costumer service here is the worst and this was my first time using uhaul. I am not even sure if I would ever use it again!

I went to two seperate locations (Loomis, ca and Lincoln, ca) with emailed guaranteed pickup of a truck and trailer respectively prior to visiting this location. Neither location had in stock either of these rentals, Loomis did not even rent trucks out. Needless to say I was very happy to talk with someone who could put eyes on my rental and confirm it existed. I spent an entire day (started at 7:30am) confirming, chasing, and trying to pickup a truck and auto transport trailer between Auburn, CA and Jackson, CA and was very happy that by 4pm I finally got a truck and trailer home. Worst uhaul experience ever, but at least the place on El camino has their system worked out. Figure your system out uhaul, I shouldn't have to drive to the pickup site to find the don't rent trucks there, waste of an entire day!

I'm being charged for fuel even though I filled it back up to 3/4. I was told I only had to fill it up as much as I started which was under 3/4 a tank. I am also being charged for an additional 62mi on top of the 30mi I already paid for. I went only 32 miles over what I paid. So I should be only charged about $34 not $67. When I called, they gentleman who answered said a manager would be calling me within 15minutes... two hours went by so I called back, but by that time the location was closed and won't open until 7am tomorrow.

15 minutes after leaving the rental location, I arrived at my home to load the van. After loading, the van would not start, aka, dead battery! Service truck took 30 minutes to arrive, and after 30 minutes, we were able to get the van started. I was not able to "use" the vehicle as it was intended, but U-haul charged me anyway. I was inconvenienced and now will not recommend this location.

The gas filling issue with your trucks need to be fixed. All the pumps in California are fitted with collars that made it beyond inconvenient to fill up. I had to hold the handle with just enough pressure or it would pop and turn off. It filled up by the PENNIES! And then sometimes would spray gas all over me. It took almost 40 minutes for me to fill the tank the first time because it was down to a quarter tank. Every subsequent fill I would have to stop every quarter tank so I didn't have to stay at each station so long. My finger has a bump under the skin where I had to hold all the pump handles and my trip was made miserable because of this situation. It needs to be addressed asap!!!!

I had reservations for a place much closer to my house in Natomas. They were confirmed. Two days before my move my reservation was changed to El Camino. It is only a 5 mile difference as the crow flies but a huge inconvenience in Sacramento traffic and way out of my way. I asked if I would be credited the mileage since it was farther from my reservation and was told no. Then when I dropped the truck off I was told I'd be charged if I didn't fold the blankets. Very petty if you ask me.

Every step of the way of my UBox order was messed up by UHaul. Every time I would call it would take 45 mins or more, getting transferred to 4 or more people, before I would get a simple yes or no question answered. It seems like they should have only specific people answer questions to make the process quicker. Besides that, I booked 3 months before my move and they never actually made the reservations. Luckily I called a month and a half before my move and realized this, and booked my move. Than two days before my UBox was to be delivered UHaul calls to tell me they can not deliver the UBox on the day I requested (months ago) and it had to be changed. Then when the day came, it was supposed to show up at noon. We waited all day, and when I tried to call for an updated I got transferred around without anyone actually giving me an update until 4 hours after the scheduled delivery time, and then was told that it would arrive at 5pm. I had to waste an entire day just waiting for the box and no one could actually tell me what time it would arrive. Then, come to find out from the driver, that my scheduled pick up date was actually not available and I needed to change it. I scheduled this way ahead of time, WHY DID NO ONE FROM UHAUL TELL ME? What was the point of actually scheduling anything? Then they billed the wrong card for the drop off and I had to spend two days just trying to pay with a check instead. While trying to figure out if I could pay with check, I noticed UHaul had change my delivery date to two days later than originally scheduled. Meaning the movers I had hired through Uhaul now wouldn't work because the delivery date had change. I planned my entire move around this. Only Chris the owner of the store in Gold River, CA was able to help me at all. He was the only saving grace in this entire experience. He changed the delivery date back to three days before my scheduled movers were supposed to move my stuff into my apartment. Then in the middle of my trip to my noew apartment I find out that my Ubox is delayed two days!!! without any notification about it. Then when I called to figure out where my Ubox was it took 4 phone calls, 7 transfers into different departments, and two days to get a yes we know where it is. HOW COME NO ONE COULD TELL ME WHERE THE UBOX WAS? Also UHaul gave me the wrong estimate for the movers THEY hired and I had to pay more once I got to my destination. This entire experience was way to stressful and ridiculous for me to ever use UHaul again or recommend the UBox system to anybody. I will also be posting a review on YELP or anywhere else I can, in hopes of preventing this same experience for any one else. There was more that went wrong that I did not even mention.

Everyone was absolutely delightful. Winters helped me with my contract, and was very quick and professional. I felt confident the I knew the exact charges before I left. Patti made sure to do the walk around with me and always had a smile on her face while ensuring the equipment was clean and in working order. Finally when I later came for my U-Box for storage there seemed to be some miscommunication and they weren't ready for me, but once I was at the counter Collin rushed to get the box prepared and had it ready and waiting before I finished my paperwork at the desk. Phenomenal work at this U-Haul location, and I would always recommend this again.

The second location, on Northgate Blvd, did not have any signage indicating where the office was located (inside a sofa warehouse factory). causing confusion that ended up with my reserved trailer being unavailable. I did have a 26" truck that had an odd "bucking" intermittantly at 55 MPH.... but it wasn't constant and I didn't feel afraid to drive it. I made that known when I returned the truck. Sacramento was 8 hours late deliverying the boxes, and promised all day on the phone that they were on their way. They forced me to pack overnight saying they could not pick up on Sunday as I requested. They could only pick them up the next day, despite late delivery. They charged me for three boxes, when I used two. My many MANY phone calls to correct did not resolve the overcharge. They did not bring the promised number of furniture pads and forced me to drive to the Roseville location to pick up. Despite three customer objections filed on the overcharge of three boxes, I NEVER received the promised phone call on the objections. I scheduled a mover through move help and was assured on uhaul's customer service line that they would unload the uboxes. The company refused to unload, saying they would only deliver the uboxes to my home.

Boxes arrived 13 days late, just in time for $75 per Box prepaid "rent" that must be paid before releasing. Objections or complaints were "investigated" with each division blaming the other - scheduling, transit, shipping, and local stores. People are friendly, but I get different policies and stories each time I call. Have spent hours on the phone with 4 different offices trying to reconcile overchatging me $300 to $800. A nightmare!

This is a review for the U-Haul location at 2830 Broadway Street in Sacramento, California where my original reservation was. U-Haul called me on the phone as I was on my way over to the Broadway Street location in Sacramento on Saturday morning July 8, 2017. I told the person on the phone I was coming to get the van. When I get there, I was told the agent on the phone changed my reservation pickup time to 11pm as I was on the way at 11am and my original reservation was cancelled. There was no other van available. I came from out of town just for this and was not at all happy to have this happen. Fortunately, the El Camino location had some vans but I was still unhappy this very inept mistake happened.

I later I received a text along with the confirmation neither stated that the place would be closed, and the new location would not be open until 9:00 am nor was there another email with this information. All of the staff I've dealt with has been WONDERFUL. However, my U-boxes arrived very late, and I have yet to receive a refund for that, in addition, they were so late that I was charged for a new month, and though promised a refund of THAT cost, I've not received that either. I do not want to give poor reviews when I've had such lovely people working with me, but there is clearly some problem when these dedicated, excellent people do not have the power to accomplish customer service needs in a timely manner. Similarly, I found that the people at your 1-800 number seldom had the information needed to help me. Your organization is large, and that is good, but my experience has been that you need some more effective systems to make you run like ONE business. That is what your customers need you to accomplish. I need to repeat here, ALL of the UHAUL staff I've worked with directly has gone far beyond the call of duty to help me - from the CA staff to those here in Oregon. They are some of the most dedicated folks I've ever worked with. Tony in Sacramento and Jennifer in Eugene deserve special mention - AMAZING dedication. For other customers: even with the stress of this delay, if you are in a situation where a delay doesn't mean living in a hotel, or some other huge expense you can't afford, I'd highly recommend this way of moving. I was moving into a place with working appliances, so other than some small replacement costs, the delay was not financially crushing for me. Not one item was broken or damaged, I found the packing and unpacking FAR less stressful because I wasn't having to cram it all into a day or two, and I felt much more comfortable doing it myself, with my things under my own lock and key the whole time.

Manager was very unfriendly and came across as though my rental was an inconvenience to them. She never smiled and rolled her eyes at every question. When the roll door on the first truck didn't work, she yelled loudly at another employee into her radio and just disappeared. The other employee, a young man, was polite and much more helpful. However, the behavior of the manager was nothing close to that of someone who should be in a leadership position.

The center was very busy when we went in, as they were understaffed, but despite that the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! The entire process was incredibly easy and fast. The brakes were very weak and required brake fluid when we dropped it off in Portland OR. Also the passenger window did not roll up within the track (didm;t notice this until after the rain) so there was water all in the cab. We were traveling to OR from CA with many hills and summits the brakes were very frustrating required us to pump many times to get them to activate.

I rented a truck for 4 hours. I pick up it at 6:00 pm and returned at 9:30 pm. I left the key in the drop off box. However the next day they sent me a receipt (by email) charging me for two days. I try to call them and they transfer me to customer service and told me that the manager (Stephanie) will return my call. She never did so I was recommended to go directly to the store. So I had to make a trip to the store to fix my bill, which was fixed because "it was an error". This is my worst experience with customer service by phone !

We were billed for two days and two hand trucks. I sent an e-mail to no response. Tried to call the actual rental site and they kept placing me on hold. I had to take my lunch time to go over and have them credit my account. Had to stand in line for that too. Not happy. I have used this U-Haul many times. It has never been this frustrating. =(

There was a major safety/liability issue with the vehicle that put my goods in danger, and most importantly, the health and safety of my passenger and I. When a customer picks up a vehicle, they are required to be given a well-maintained, functional, and safe vehicle that can be operated on the public roads and highways in a safe manner. When both headlights are totally inoperable, by law, that is illegal to drive on the road. U-Haul put us in that situation. Further, when we went to return the truck (gassed up to the proper level) to the location on the contract, we were turned away and told to go to another location. We drove there and so the fuel gauge was slightly below the proper level because of the extra mileage. I explained that to the manager and she was adamant about charging me the $30 service fee, which was utterly inappropriate to me. Only because I pushed back did she not end up charging me. That's an example of a lost customer service opportunity: if the manager had treated us courteously, we would definitely have had a positive end to stressful weekend. Instead we left with a negative overall experience. We'll think long and hard before using U-Haul again.

when I arrived I gave U haul a copy of my reservation paperwork and I was hooked up and on my way in 10 minutes. When I turned the trailer in I was met in reception yard. Didn't ever need paperwork. every thing was registered, I was expected. The tech disconnect the trailer after inspection and I was out in less than 5 minutes. Quick, efficient, To the point. Great service. I'll use you again!

Trailer had litter from last customer inside. I am not pleased that U-Haul trailers are so easy to steal. I had to provide an extra chain and lock for security. Simply unscrewing the safety chain links releases the trailer. Locks on the safety chain do no good. Also, I am not pleased that you choose to include Spanish in your instructions. This AMERICA, speak English!!

The trailer lights all failed within an hour of leaving the uhaul location. When we reported it upon return it was common knowledge to the grunts checking in that everything had broken. They also had a very harsh vocal back and forth with the owner/manager. If I get motivated, I'll submit a case to better business bureau. It's just kind of par for the course here in California...

since i did not have a reservation they rented me the biggest unit on the lot. said everthing else was reserved. i notice 10 small trucks left in yard when i left.same ones there when i got back. i asked about those oh those are cancellation.i got ripped off. they seemed indifferent. came back the next day those trucks still sitting there. They only told me that I would be charged for the gas per gallon. I was never told there would be a $30 charge if under 1/4 tank. We got the van with only a 1/4 tank so if I knew about the service charge I would have put gas in it myself, but since I had rented 3 other trucks/vans in the past 30 days and never got charged that fee (and was never told about the fee) I didn't put gas in it. I'm very upset that they would not adjust the fee.

This was my second time at this location and it unfortunately was not like the first. Getting the truck was simple and went smoothly. During the walk around of the truck i noticed that the fuel was not at the level that was on the contract. It was at a quarter tank rather than a half so i pointed it out to the the staff who was with me. I returned it that night after hours. When my lady went in today to collect my deposit she was told we owed $20 because the tank was not filled to a half tank. So now i have to send her back woth the paperwork to show them it was not at half a tank

I'm a loyal customer. If you look up my rental history you'll see that. When I was giving my information I was asked for an additional phone number. I told the woman that I've never been asked that from uhaul in the past. I told her I'm a regular customer with never having an issue. She insisted in order to proceed I asked for the manager and she said I'm the manager. I expressed to her my discontent. I feel if i was a first time customer sure why not. But i felt not trusted by the establishment if uhaul will treat every returning customer in that fashion. For being a manager i feel she should be more respectful and not act like if i didn't provide can additional number that my business did not matter. Feel free to contact me.
