I like U Haul facility because it nice and clean. I don't particularly like the spot this unit is in because it's far in the facility. But other than that..its ok.

The residential garage door to my parents garage shoots back up if a small paint can is left at the base, but this large industrial sized door to a location supposedly designed to accommodate large trucks goes down on my 12 foot rental?

When trying to contact them via phone, the phone rings forever. The Gm is never hardly in the office to speak with. Very frustrating, and unprofessional ran.

ROBERT M | First ImpressionsI had no problems throughout the entire time that I rented a storage unit up until move out. On June 11th, I completed the online move out process after I had cleared out my unit. I periodically checked my account and it always said that it was pending approval by the site manager. Finally on 6/22, after not hearing anything from Uhaul about the move out, I gave the 1-800 number a call. The next day I received a call from the site manager/staff and was told that there was a small lock on the unit and that they can’t close it out until the lock was off. I returned that call and was greeted by one of the rudest workers on the phone. Right from the start she had a bad attitude. I explained the situation and notified her that it wasn’t my lock on the unit and that I moved out on June 11. This woman proceeds to tell me that they will check the lock on the unit and insisted that if it was a Uhaul lock that it had to be mine. I explained over and over again that ITS NOT MY LOCK and that I was literally staring at my lock sitting on my kitchen counter. She continued to get more attitude and restated that if there’s a Uhaul lock on the unit then it’s my lock. I proceeded to tell her once again that it’s not my lock and if the unit isn’t closed out, I will dispute all charges. I’m not sure how dense someone has to be to not understand that when I’m telling you I moved out, I moved out and that it wasn’t my lock. It’s not my problem if Uhaul didn’t secure the unit and some opportunistic person took over the unit after I had moved out. I waited all day Monday 6/26 and didn’t hear anything from Uhual, so I called them. I was told that the lock was cut off the unit and there was stuff inside the unit. I was questioned again whether it was my stuff or not and at this point it’s exasperating. After telling the man on the phone, who was much more pleasant to speak to, that it wasn’t my lock, wasn’t my belongings, and that I do not care what happens to the stuff inside the unit because it’s not mine, the unit was finally closed out. I’m not sure if this is common practice, but the lack of notification of an issue with the move out process, as well as the poor customer service and accusations really turned my opinion sour about Uhaul as a whole.

One worker saw one of my sons name on a piece of mail and told them to stop and call me because that's his cousin. They told me I just took a storage unit...so unreal. Then when I recently took my items out, they charged me anyway. I called a few.times and he corrected it. Workers obviously wasn't working together. ...Bad experience.

You do have to purchase a Diskus lock from them and not your own which kinda is different than we’re used too but it was nice they have it to us for free. Nice place! Huge drop off and unload area! Elvis N | First ImpressionsWhile the staff was friendly, the lack of instructions was not helpful at all. I had a reservation for a first floor unit that was made on 11-25. When I arrived on 12-3, I was informed that I did not have a unit on the first floor. Not convenient and rather annoying. If someone makes a reservation, shouldn't there be a unit available? Once we arrived at the facility we were unable to use the elevator because the code process of checking in and out was not explained. We had to use the intercoms to have a staff member explain it to us. In my opinion, this should be explained at the store. After loading a couple of carts, we proceeded to the unit, which had a lock on it. I had to call the store, again, and wait for a new unit. This was frustrating as I had a group of people to move us from out of town and we had to wait for a new unit. This after not holding my initial reservation and not being given instructions. The store did follow up with me which I appreciated. The facility is nice and what we were looking for, but the lack of information about how to check-in, use the elevator, not holding a reservation, and giving a unit that was already in use and waiting for a new one was not the service or expectation that I had received at the store before when renting trucks. I would rent a truck again at this facility, but once we are done with this unit, I will be thinking twice before using again.

It appeared like the original unit was actually cut in half to make a unit (3316) and a maintenance room and was therefore only 5x7x10 when we measured it instead of 7x10x10

Also, they always have more staff then other locations in the area too so, the wait time is better. I highly recommend this location to anyone.

In the end, it worked out, but when I first went to the office to get access to the 5x7 unit I had reserved and put a deposit down for, I was told that there weren't any. The only unit available was a 10x10 for twice as much. When I mentioned that I had a reservation, and the emails to prove it, one U-Haul employee actually said, "I don't consider them a reservation, as much as a request for a unit, if it's available." I respectfully disagree. After refusing to leave the office, I was finally given a 10x10 unit for the 5x7 rate. In theory. It took me almost two months to finally get the 5x7 rate adjusted in the system, as I kept getting billed for the10x10. I was on the phone with multiple people multiple times, and it was a bit of a nightmare. It finally got figured out. I would probably rent from them again, but at least I am forewarned.

It seems so improved since the last time I visited buying supplies a couple years ago. It seems in has expanded, the signage is better, the parking lot is better and staff was helpful in every way. The young man explained everything to me and even asked if I needed a lock. He was very good and deserves credit for his demeanor and ability. It was a good experience. The storage facility is easy to enter, exit and use.

Nancy B | Overall ExperienceWhen I was checking in for the truck there was confusion about the dolly and so I paid the extra $10. My storage code won't work. The worker there was talking back and forth with the office to get it right but they didn't get it to work. They tried the managers code and it git like 2 carts of items up the elevator then it wouldn't work and one of my helpers was just stuck up there with my items for about half an hour or so. Then the worker had him bring the items back down to get a bottom storage unit. But we had to wait about another 30 -60 minutes because we had to wait until another customer cleared her unit to a smaller one. Then the worker mopped that unit and we waited til it dried. This situation took up too much time. Then we could put my items into the first floor storage unit. That was a terrible experience.

He gave us wrong directions because he could not say what he wanted. Next he sent us on a wild goose chase to try and find the uhaul storage facility. Next we get to the storage area, and the storage unit was too small. I get back to the uhaul store in Peoria, IL and we tell him what happened, that we couldn't use the unit because it was too small and that we needed to keep the truck another day, he said OK. This was good, but then he said he would take care of the free months storage, and make sure I didn't get charged for another month. My friend and I didn't have any confidence that he would. The triton v10''s are junk, they have no power. I hated the performance, and yes it got the job done, but it was slow and powerless. Will I rent from uhaul again? Probably, but it will be a long time before I have to move again I pray.

However, it's looked over according to his supervisor because he's has been working with them for 20 years. They gave me the wrong code did not coincide with the hours for my cold will allow me to move versus the help that I had there to help me move. That he's had people who have covid and because I do not respond the way they did basically scorned me. And because they gave me a faulty code I was locked out and my personal belongings that was left in the hallway as it was over there were thrown away more than a a qt of my items all the way. I wouldn't refer this location with that manager training bad stuff with that attitude that's it public serves him, I wouldn't recommend that. And that's why according to his boss leadership reflects employees. It's the good old boy system that said in place until it's not.

It was very difficult to cancel the unit, and I could not get any help in the multiple times I called. Instead, I kept getting late notices and lien notices. I called twice in Jan. to try to fix the issue and never got the promised call back from the actual site.

Stephen F | Overall ExperienceThe storage facility needs to I stall an elevator that is large enough to carry tall items and more space for more than one cart, it also needs to have an elevator on both end of the storage units so the customer does not have to walk so far to their unit and finally you need to have automatic doors to open for customers who have to push their belongs through other corridors that have doors separating the storage units. The size of your storage units verses pricing not reasonable.

I immediately paid the arrearage and future months in advance and requested a waiver and refund if the late fee, but received no response to my emailed request.

The AC units for the interior units appear to be in a pretty bad state of disrepair. The storage unit also had a very strong stench of smoke. I would not store anything in it that could possibly absorb the unpleasant smell of the storage unit. The elevator to get to the unit is also pretty small.

Didn't matter that I made a reservation. Apparently it was first come first serve. Not sure why you guys take reservations if you don't honor them. The staff was very accommodating and apologetic so I don't blame them.

The key system didn’t allow me to go down at one point & had to wait for about 20 minutes the try again. Was frustrated & ready to throw my things away at that point. Very inconvenient trying to get my sectional on the elevator.

Very difficult to move my equipment into my unit. Exceptionally inconvenient. All the storage facilities of the size I reserved were given away prior to my arrival. Not sure why you have reservations if its just really first come first serve. We ended up finding a space that met our needs thanks to your staff but I will be hesitant to book with you again.

Tim D | First ImpressionsSecurity system was lacking. The doors will open for any car that approaches, regardless of access to security card. The initial visit is confusing. Since you can get in without a card, you need to know to go back outside to swipe to gain access to your locker. The swipe card boxes should be marked on the map. Staff helpfulness varied. Nice sized unit. The take it and leave it section was a nice idea.

When I arrived at about 2:30pm, the elevator had fresh paint inside it and they had a fan on to dry it. The paint was still wet so we were unable to even load anything on the elevator. It was very frustrating. The carts were helpful though.

Online advised 24 hour access, signs on site list 9:00am - 7:00 pm access. Price Paid on line was different then rep was trying to collect. Checkin in at offsite office, was told By representative that he had watched me on video attempting to access my online purchased unit and online advised ready to move in. I Wasn’t happy that he was aware of my difficulty and didn’t answer the phone!

If one person says something positive it will go as far as two more. Quite a few reviews were negative about the staff. I found them totally unfounded. Tony and his staff have great customer service ethics. I'm glad I chose this center.

On getting there, I found the units were arranged (numbered) in no particular order and wandered for 10 minutes seeking ours. I finally came across people who'd reserved their unit in person and had been given a map. Such a map should be placed on the wall near the entrance door. Other than this, the communications were clear enough.
