ED P | Overall ExperienceThe service associate made mistake after mistake and seemed to need help processing my order. I was there for over an hour trying to rent a unit. I had a reservation where the lock was not in place. I went to the office and the same unit was rented to me but the lock wasn’t removed. Then I was advised I had to rent a different unit and it was also not the same size promised when I placed my order. At this point, once I arrived to the unit I just used it cause I had no time to go back to the office to make the change. I have to go back there again today, rent out a bigger unit as I originally needed and move my stuff from one unit to the other. I’m addition, I was charged multiple times for the same unit cause he couldn’t process my payments correctly. I hope there is a manager today cause yesterday he was not available.

When I first arrived, the storage had no lock, which it stated on the website there will be one inside, so I called to and let the front office know and the the storage had no light bulb & I had to call to let the front office know that the storage came without one. The associate came and replaced it, in which he said “you have to use a flashlight until we get the storage fixture fixed”. I was in disbelief due to the fact I will need to access my storage at night & the online there was no notice of the storage unit not coming without a light inside! I had already started moving my things inside. I drove up to the office to request a new one. The new storage has major damage to the door, as if someone tried to pry it open. There could easily be rain or inclement weather damage or critters that could creep inside! I asked an associate for a manager to have a different storage. After waiting 30 minutes outside, the manager never came! When I went back inside for the third time, the general manager CJ was sitting there on Facebook and I requested a refund! He was no help. This entire ordeal took an hour and 30 minutes! This entire ordeal wasted my time, money & I am Still in need of a storage! I need my refund to process as soon as possible because I am out of money due to this inconvenience. My belongings are packed inside of my car instead of a storage unit because it is held up! I ordered online to by-pass going to the front desk and I had visited 3 separate times and the customer service was absolutely horrible. I’ve attached photos for reference. I am extremely appalled with U-Haul as I was a loyal customer in the past! I also need a truck to move this weekend but I am he hesitant based on the bad experience and reviews from this location!!

So the gate wouldn't open. Tried to call with no success. Now I have to try to get the help I had to move in the storage before 10:30am, which is unacceptable. Adjustment needs to be made.

MERNA I | Overall ExperienceCurrently I have been working with 4 other storage facilities and finding them extremely stressful. Losing sleep stressful. Hoffman Estates UHaul is far and away the best. Staff was not only friendly but repeatedly helpful, even though they have a help-wanted sign up in the window so you know they must be strained to some extent. This does not prevent them from running a top notch facility or from helping their customers.

MACKEILA R | Overall ExperienceBut first of all it's sad when you have been with U-Haul for over 3 years in a storage unit and yes you have made your payments of several times late but always paid the late payment and then you get a new person in there and they badger you for over 45 minutes and threatened to sell your unit letting you know that they have been in your unit and letting you know that you had quite a few very nice things that would sell off and overly pay your unit and you're trying telling her that you called in to tell her that you it would be Thursday before you could pay your unit and she still tells you that's too bad your unit will be going up for auction and there's nothing that you could do about it you can't stop it and so then you literally lose control and then you get put out I think you're a slime scum and I would never recommend anybody to rent from U-Haul ever again due to the fact that I just two or three of your employees and management to boot that's sad very sad
marcie m | Overall ExperienceJerry was awesome and even shared a better solution for us as we really needed a ground level backup offload to store our goods and that was with his colleagues at Irving Park near Carol Stream where we are moving temporary so this need to store goods easy in and easy out with ground level. At that location Angie Ortiz couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Both locations are top tier in my book. Concierge Level Service (is TM by employer AIG Private Client Group) but fitting and of that standard none the less. Best service I have ever received in a move and have had Armstrong relocation handle domestic and international moves for me and you blow them out of the water!!!

The facility is wet and filled with vermin, I had rat droppings everywhere. Please let me touch on the fact half of my stuff is missing out of my unit, and I have someone else's. I closed my unit in April of 2021, was charged every month there after until they auctioned my empty unit and tried to charge me with a 2,000 bill. There are so many issues. Thats just a few problems! Do not recommend the Uhaul in Hoffman Estates on Pembroke! Disgusting!

They emailed me and never called or left an auto voicemail and I didn't get the email so thats that. Then I see they moved around my stuff damaging a few items. I figured not worth the hassle filing a claim. Lastly I forgot to close out my account and called in 1 week later when I saw I was charged for the next month. Apparently I can't get a refund if I close the account at the begining of the month because I should of closed out a day sooner before I got charged. Im livid.

I was told by Tyler that he would be standing by and cameras would be on the mover. If this is true I want to see the video of them moving my things out. Because someone stoll a lot from me. the attatude was more like 'oh well" here's the number to file a claim. Like the insurance really was going to replace all my things. Please!

Eric W | Overall ExperienceLeft messages back during the sprinkler install about moving to larger unite and about when i would have needed to move stuff out of the way and never got a call back also during repainting of the door had left a message about the door hinges on how hard door opened and after paint san d blasting the whole inside was covered in red and then came to access my locker the lock wouldn't work you had replaced it with a lesser heavy duty lock because once i got the keys from the person at the desk that had no idea why but they were hanging somewhere in back garage once i opened everything inside had been moved and stacked to install the sprinkler head better communication would have been nice ended up moving to larger unite for the same money your larger unite was much higher sorry but thanks

It had to be a bigger animal since the amount of pee that was on the blanket was no small creature. Thankfully that was the only thing damaged but the whole unit did smell terrible as we opened it up.
