While my experience with the staff of the Uhaul in Glenside was 5 star/excellent, my experience with Uhaul reservations and customer service was subpar. I reserved a 20 ft truck over a month ago. The day before my reservation, I get a text with the incorrect pick up time. I called to tell them it was wrong (I have the email from my initial reservation which had the correct time) and the issue was fixed. However, later that day, I get a phone call from someone at the Uhaul in Andorra saying that I was picking up my 20ft truck at their location and not in Glenside. Apparently, the Glenside location didn’t have a truck for the reservation I made over a month ago. UNACCEPTABLE. Glenside is 5 minutes from my home, Andorra is 20-25 minutes away— inconvenient on many levels. That being said, I had to downsize my truck to a 17 foot one so I could pick it up at the Glenside Uhaul. I asked for mileage reimbursement considering I had a smaller truck and had to make 2 moving trips instead of the one we had planned. I was told they couldn’t do it and I had to call the customer service number. I find it ridiculous that you can’t do mileage reimbursement on site and that I had to call the 1800 number. This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Even though I’ve used Uhaul for every move since college, I intend on using another company the next time I need truck rental services.

The manager at this location should be fired and/or receive customer service training he was extremely unhelpful in every way imagineable. He did not have the correct equipment, he never notified me in advance, he pretended not know the $50 credit existed for not having my equipment, I had to go to another location, he lied about it's distance, when I dropped truck off here he tried gouging me for over $200 additional and was completely uncompromising or understanding in the least. Horrible human being, will never use this specific location again and will advise others to avoid like to plague.

The Mirrors on my truck were too loose to hold their position. I could never properly see what was behind me on my entire trip. Each time I was in a parking lot where I had to reverse, I would reposition the mirrors so that I could back up, but as soon as anything vibrated the truck, the mirrors would flop into a useless position.

Drop-off of the truck online was CONFUSING- we tried to return it by taking pictures, etc. but didn't realize there was also a nighttime procedure for returning. Wasted a bunch of time, just to end up only having to drop the keys in a drop box. Would make that clearer for the customer!

I was accused of damaging the truck. There was apparently a dent in the roof above the cab on the outside. This did not happen while I was using the truck. Fortunately I purchased insurance and did not have to pay. Perhaps the dent was missed doing a previous inspection or maybe it occurred due to vandalism after I dropped the truck off. There was no reason to confront me with this issue since I had the insurance, but it took over 20 min on hold or talking to somebody in the corporate office who couldn't help, then finally talking to somebody at the location only to find out that the insurance covered the damages.

The manager is fantastic - the van was brand new, clean and perfect for us, antique dealers. I think this is the best van rental experience we've had in 20 years, thanks to the manager, a great asset to uHaul.

When I arrived at my scheduled time and the renter before me had not come back with the van I was supposed to use the 3 staff members on site had no idea what to do. This seems like something that would be addressed in hour number one of new employee training. It was embarrassing how unprepared and incapable the 3 staff members were. The two guys could not care any less about my predicament. One of them offered me a 26 foot truck when I was there to use a 9 foot van. I graciously declined because I was taking the van into some tight residential areas but this does not seem like a comparable swap and I was not really amused by the offer. I could tell that the third member of the crew did feel bad but could not offer any sort of help. Later when I was finally able to leave with a van the drive sucked because it smelled. It didn't look dirty but felt and smelt horrible. The rental experience was really terrible. It is a good thing for u-haul that they have cornered the market here locally otherwise I believe they would be suffering to competition.

Also, I'm pretty sure the hours on the odometer were exaggerated because I tracked how far I was going re: GPS and was charged 20 miles more than my trip was. One of the people was really helpful, but overall I had a pretty substandard experience.

I was extremely disappointed in the experience I had at the U-haul location on Mt. Carmel, Av. located in Glenside, PA. I thought the experience would be great based on my starting point. The website reservation tool is excellent. One of the best I've used. I also thought it was easy picking up the truck. Although I thought when the attendant asked for a contact number of someone other than myself in case I couldn't be reached was odd. Note that I had already given my mobile and home phone numbers. This was the one of two questions I was asked. The other question I was asked was when did I think I would be returning the vehicle. The attendant also informed me that I should bring the truck back with the same amount of fuel that I received it with because U-haul will charge $4.25 per gallon to top off the fuel to the as received level. From there I received a very new GMC 1500 Sierra truck that was clean, other than having a collapsed box in the passenger seat. I completed my task, added $7.00 (2.389 gallons) of gas to bring the fuel level back to what I thought was the same level of the truck as I received it. By my estimation (Google maps) I went approximately 16 miles. Based on the GMC's stated fuel economy at 18 MPG (city), 2.389 gallons of gas is good for more than 40 miles. The fuel gage registered slightly over 3/4 full when I returned the truck. Prior to returning the truck I noticed the box for the damage waiver protection had been check for the insurance coverage. When I reserved the truck I turned down the damage waiver protection and all other additional extras like boxes, wrapping, and dollies. However I signed the agreement without reading or reviewing it. That was my mistake. I trusted that what I selected on the website would be reflected on my rental agreement. I was wrong. I was also wrong about the estimated mileage I had driven as well as the as received fuel level of the truck. The odometer registered 460 miles upon my return. The contract stated the odometer had 441 miles at pickup. That's 2-3 additional miles I can't account for. I was sure the as received fuel level was 3/4 full however the contract stated 7/8 full. None of the above is an issue because I should have read the contract prior to leaving the lot. However the combination of the above as well as the reception I received when returning the truck is the reason for not recommending this location to any of my friends, family, or neighbors. Upon returning the truck I mentioned to the attendant that the damaged waiver should be removed from my bill to be consistent with my reservation on the website. The attendant (I didn't get his name) was dismissive of the issue and tried to sell the merits of it to me. He also stated the U-haul website reservation tool was for reservations only and not for selections of the damage waiver or other tools/services that I had not selected. It took about 20 minutes before the manager came over to

I was extremely disappoint in the face that I asked for a van but ended up with a box truck when I got there. I got past that but I noticed that my mileage rate was different than contracted and when I made mention to that she stated that it could not be changed until I brought the truck back. I should’ve know not to trust that information. I noticed a foul oder while I was driving and figured I just needed to air it out a bit so I rolled down the windows, in the cold because it was pretty strong. Not until I reached my destination and opened the back did myself and a Technician realize that the back was dirty and smelled like far animals. Unfortunately because of distance and deadlines I couldn’t return the truck as I would’ve liked to but I did make a call to the attendant and to her credit she apologized and offered to refund me a portion of my final cost for the unconvince. Again I should’ve known better than to trust that. After bring the vehicle back I was met with a different attendant and there was no record of any of the information she stated other than what I wrote down. It took a while but he finally looked up and changed my rate to its original number but did not refund me any money for the inconvenience. He stated that it would cause him to have to redo the entire order. That did not deter me because what’s right is right. He put the refund in at $25.00 and emailed it to me but I have yet to see that amount reimbursed on the credit card. Contract Number: 20682192 Reference Number: 1739716.

I was never set up with an account and password or told anything about insurance in Glenside. I asked if my son needed my AMEX to pick up the truck and was told he didn’t-that it was in the system. If he hadn’t had it, he would not have been able to get the insurance. Could be improved.

I am very unsatisfied with my Uhaul experience. Firstly it was not explained to be that i would be charged for an additional day of accident protection for bring my vehicle back later that expected, although i picked it up later, so it was still within the allotted time frame. Additionally I was charged an additional fee five days after my rental, and after speaking to the store AND customer service no one can figure out where my money is or why it was taken. I will NOT be using Uhaul in the future, and will not recommend them.

Process for drop-off after hours was terrible: apparently you're supposed to register and create an account to drop-off. Use the Contract # as our identifier and let us sign in/return the van using this. I was charged an extra day because this system is awful. The location was great, and people working there were friendly. They were able to reverse the extra charge without an issue for me once I called to explain what happened.

I first went to the location on Ogontz for a 4*8 trailer. They told me they had two but when I got there each one we hitched up did not work. They said I could not rent a larger one. I called U Haul from the parking lot. They told me someone would call me back in an hour. No one called back. I then called around my self and found the Glenside dealer. He said that my car could take the larger one. I went over. He was great. Very helpful. Equipment worked well and when I dropped off he was quick to release and let me go on my way. Service level much better. I almost used budget and might with a truck rental. Their prices one way for a 16 foot truck are much better than yours

I kept detailed records of the mileage. When checking out they said their printer was broken so they would e-mail the receipt. While the man was at the computer checking me out I confirmed with him that the mileage was from 11080 to 11140 for a total of 60 miles. When i got the receipt it said 67 miles driven and i was charged for 67 miles., I called the store twice - both times - an hour apart the employee said the manager was busy and couldn't talk with me - and they transferred me to a National customer service line - I held for about 20 mins. each time and no one answered the Nat'l customer service number. This location is adding miles - hoping they won't notice. I will never use this location again - and most like will avoid U-Haul all together.

When I arrived at the location I waited five minutes I was the only one their. An older guy then looked up asked me my name and if I had reservations I replied yes I was there for a 645 pick up he then told me I was to do everything online I asked him if he could sign me in register me to a truck so that I could be on my way he paused didn’t seem like he wanted to help me at all. Never Ask me any questions pertaining to the rental if I wanted a dolly pay nothing write me up immediately told me The location of the truck. Wasn’t friendly at all didn’t seem like you want to help. I returned the truck for 45 the next day when into the same location same gentleman never said a word to me. I proceeded to do what he has to do I sit there for 15 minutes just to see if he would ask me if I had a reservation or if I was returning nothing. I finally said to him I’m returning the truck had to have my receipt. He never said I’m checking you and if anything he went back to counting his money. He didn’t told me I needed to do self check out pointed at the door told me to drop my key handed me back my paper told me I needed to do everything on mine. Very poor customer service skills very unprofessional individual he does not need to work in the public if he can’t be friendly.

I was proactive and rented a 10ft cube truck 4 days prior to my need. When I came to pick up the truck they had reserved a cargo van which was totally unacceptable. No apologies and no offer of any kind. I had to ask if any other locations could service my needs and found nothing. I was forced to use the van which added many more trips to my move. Even though my confirmation stated a cargo van I wouldn’t know the proper identifying names of your trucks. Very dissatisfied with the service.

The company states that a customer will be charged 4.40per gallon if under same or equivalent should be provided to a customer who leaves more in tank than it original.

Good morning, Prior to picking up the 15' Truck on Friday 10/13 I called and spoke to Alexandra Love at your 3040 Mount Carmel Ave Glenside PA location. I asked her about using a specific credit card when I picked up the rental and using another card to pay for the rental when I returned it. She advised that the initial card would have a "hold" in the estimated amount of the rental and would NOT be charged. When I returned the truck on 10/15 the card was charged in the amt. of $394.09 on 10/13 whne I picked up. A remaining balance was owed in $50.88 and was paid. I want to have the $394.09 refunded to the card that was only supped to be used to "hold" the vehicle and pay the amount with another credit card. When I picked up the truck and Alexandra went through the contract I asked her at least two times that the card would not be charged and she assured me it would not. Can you assist in crediting the card I was told by UHAUL employee that would not be charged and apply the charge to another card that I can provide, thanks! I rented a van based on the web site information that it would hold furniture for a 1 bedroom/studio apt. All my furniture did not fit in the van.The van held a couch, bureau, full size bed box spring and mattress. I wasn't able to fit in a chair, small dining table, two dining chairs, night stand, tv and tv stand. I really needed the small truck.

The systems were not working properly, and the person at the pick up had difficulty managing the transaction. I had an issue with the phone reservation which was done previously to expedite the process at pick up. My reservation was some how crossed with someone else's reservation and I couldn't use the online check in or return w/o issue due to this cross of accounts. I was assured by the agent that everything was fine. However, I discovered differently upon drop-off.

When I stopped to refill the gas, I did not know where the tank was. I had a cargo van and the tank was within the frame of the driver side door. Not a real problem but as a courtesy to customers, just let them know where the gas tank is.

I went to this location to get wiring done for a trailer that had been contracted to me by a different location. They said that they could not wire my car to the trailer correctly and to go to this location. I went and was given attitude about an appointment that I had scheduled because the guy didn't want to do the wiring (it was Sunday so he mustn't usually wire on sundays) I explained that I had been at 3 uhaul locations since 11 AM (it was now 3). They finally did it after feeling sorry for me about my experience thus far. I left that uhaul location and to go to a different location to pick up my trailer. When the guy at the other location hooked it up, the wiring didn't even work. He had to play with the wires a bit more until it finally worked. Terrible experience. I will never use uhaul again in general after today.

Not sure if it's the location or policy but if I didn't use equipment and also brought the truck back before the time I said originally then I shouldn't be charged the same amount or more than my ex wife who drove 2 hours away and had the truck for two days . I will not be using uhaul ever again and will tell everyone i know about my experience . Penske and Budget will be getting an awful lot of business from my friends and family . Not to mention that I filled the truck way past where it was supposed to be ... go fuck yourselves , you fucking whores

I rented a van for two days. Picked it up on Sat. 29th of July. Returned it on Sunday, July 30th at 6:15pm One day earlier. I did not leave the van there on Sat/ night as I was not informed about your night drop off system and never unformed of the system to drop off. I returned the van on July 31 at 9:00 am. The sales person behind counter told me I would be charged for a full second day because I did not drop van off the night before. The sales clerk was bellicose and just plain rude. There was nothing he could do that its store policy and continued to repeat this script numerous times as i tried to point out to him that I did not know I could drop off night before. The charge was another 83.00 plus taxes and insurance for time I never used. I have used your services many times in the past, never had anyone speak to me in this manner, like I was a child and couldn't understand.. I am a 65 your old woman with college degrees. I called your customer service line to speak to a live person and was repeatably put on hold which I waited on an average of 22 minutes each when Life called and had to get on with it. I am an irate customer and will never use your facilities again. I want compensation for second day of non use. The fellows name was William who I spoke with. He evidently did not care about his job or otherwise he would taken care of this issue at the shop. I am looking eagerly for your response.If I get one. Marlene Verdecchio

make sure that you keep proper records. I was double charged for my rental and my contract had the wrong equipment number. I returned item within rental agreement time and received a call the next asking to return. this is not the first time this has happened to me at this location. I now want to go back and check ALL my rental contracts to make sure I was not over charged!

This location has their act together and I would recommend it to someone else looking to rent a uhaul. I would never recommend the uhual on 309 in Colmar, you will have a bad experience there.

Only one employee was working at the end of the day on a Friday. Took about 15 minutes before the employee assisted us. Truck was in very good condition, rental went smoothly. Very impressed by this location and once I was assisted it only took about 4 minutes to complete the process.

There's nowhere to leave a car parked while renting a truck or van for a few hours, so pickup and drop off requires another person. Everything else about the location is good.

My preferred pick up location was King of Prussia (KOP). U-Haul listed that location as open on Saturday. It was not. This created unnecessary stress when we went to pick up the truck and there was no one we could even talk to at the KOP location. Luckily the Glenside staff was great and very helpful.
