I online reserved a storage until a week before it would be needed. I reserved a 5' x 10' x 8' . When I went to the location I was told that until was no a viable and I would have to have one on the second floor. The representative helping me was told to go over and check to see if there was a lock on the room, but did not want to and said there was probably no lock on it and checked me out. Then next day when I go to put things in my room there was a lock on the door. I went across the street and was told I’d probably have to get a new locker and they did not have any in the size I requested so I would have to go to the next size up for more money if I wanted too. I was told I would be getting a month free for my troubles, seeing how that was the promotion I was given for getting a locker and a truck this is all just lip service. I then go to get into my locker and the key pad does not accept my key card. I then hav to go back across the street and get this corrected. This was by far the worst experience in customer service and knowledge I have ever felt with. I would never reckoned this place to anyone.Wendy W. | First Impressions

Staff in Las Vegas was excellent, the kids in Springfield, MO not so much. I don’t think they understand friendly, helpful customer service. Your reservation methods need much improvement. I moved 1400 miles with a reservation. When I arrived I was told nothing was available and that reservations only mean that it is reserved when it becomes available. Usually I give glowing recommendations when I do a survey. So this is a first… Let me first say that the staff I interacted with personally, face to face, were all amazing. Very helpful. Beyond them however, ugh. No one communicated with anyone else. I had cleaned out and terminated my lease for a locker but I was harassed for months about it. And no matter how many different people I spoke with over the phone, how many emails I send and replied to it didn’t stop. My attorney even got involved. It wasn’t until I had to look up their number to respond to yet another harassing message they left me, that I found all the bad reviews about them for exactly what they were doing to me. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I arrived in CA early so I tried to move up my delivery date. Could not do it online and the wait to speak with someone was 30+ minutes! So I gave up and waited. When the day finally came, they decided that they could not deliver to my community due to it being on a hill. They had my address for almost a month and waited until after I took the day off work and waited 2 hours before they decided to tell me! Then they asked if I wanted them to bring it on a small trailer. If that was an option why didn't they just do that to start with??? So they said if I would wait at home another hour it would be there. 2 hours later they delivered an empty box!? They had no clue I was waiting for my stuff. They finally found my box and delivered it a day later. I have yet to open all the boxes so I am hoping nothing is broken. During this experience I received at least 10 crazy phone calls from different offices wanting to know things like when they could pick up my emptied box AFTER they had already picked it up!? The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. If you use them understand it will not be a smooth experience. And be sure to add up all the little charges to see what it will really cost you. I will definitely try a different company next time. I have lost all faith in U-Haul.Greg N.

I was charged a extra month for service. After requesting a refund, i was charged again for another month instead of the refund. At this point I have received a one month refund and now awaiting the other month to be refunded. After five crew is more interested in hanging out with coworkers instead of helping their customers. When asked to send 3 pictures of where to place the U-boxes I was unable to access the website to do this. Sending pictures via text is much simpler. This caused a one day delay in delivery. Remember, those moving in only have cell phones and not all have smart phones.jim V.
Everything was above excellence except for one thing but it’s important. We are old. We were not warned that this was an upstairs unit with no elevator. If we had not hired mover help we would have killed ourselves. When I went in to the store Derrick was the one who continued to help me with the process. He showed me two options and from that I was able to make a good decision. I'm not a new customer, I have been a customer for over 2 years. I have been enrolled on autopay for that period and not had any problems. I recently changed cards and that is where the problems started. I called and spoke with an employee who updated my card info over the phone. I thought all was good at that point. Weeks later, I got a call from a lady saying my bill hadn't been paid? So I went to the center and physically updated the card with an employee. 3 days later, I get an email saying my bill hasn't been paid and I am getting a $20 late fee. I responded to the email, and didn't hear back until the young lady called me back and we updated the card again. TOO many furniture pads! Not enough room for my boxes and items....had to return more than half to the store upon packing. Customer service IN PERSON is great. They do a great job, yet at both Colorado and Missouri they are understaffed. Getting ahold of a location is IMPOSSIBLE! I tried to call the store on many occasions, never got through. Tried to chat online to get help, to no avail. Had to waste time going TO the location to schedule delivery and pick up and ask questions. Hours wasted holding for a phone call never answered- Love the U-Box option. You need to market this harder. the college option and quick move is awesome. Need to give more options for delivery fees and make them more accessible. Make the fee more affordable (MO was great, CO was three times higher!) The website ordering of my hitch was, OK. It did not correctly order the parts to be ready on the scheduled day. Nor, never sent a reminder of the installation date. To obtain my trailer hitch I had to make two trips to UHAUL. One trip on my scheduled day to find the wiring harness did not come in. I then had to leave and come back the next day, while the part was ordered. I finally spent more than four hours of my time over two days and more than 50 miles total driving to have my hitch delivered to the store and installed. The install took about an hour and a half. This was fine. The staff was very professional and courteous. No Purchase: At the store, I tried to buy a combination round lock priced at $14.95. However, the computer system was then adding an additional $3.00 plus, total cost over $18.00! Staff could not fix. I did not buy the lock from UHAUL.Brian S.

There was a wait when we arrived but suddenly after one guy came in there were 4 or 5 others. The guy that was helping us was moved over to help a problem and we were in limbo. I originally rented the 5x7 utility trailer with ramp but for some reason couldn't get the lights to work on it, so I had to rent the smaller box truck to pick up a refrigerator which they said would stand up in because it's height was 6'2 (not including the sliding door... )had to lay the refrigerator down and now I have to wait 48 hours before I can turn my refrigerator on. I reserved 2 furniture dolly's. The girl that checked me out said to go outside while she gets the truck. She pulled up with the truck and said here you go and started to walk off. I asked if the dolly's were in the back of the truck and she said oops, I forgot. She left for 5 minutes then came back with only one. She said that's all they had and that I needed to go back inside to get a refund for the dolly I didn't receive. I stood there for five minutes while she attempted to process a refund. It turns out that she did not know how to do it and ask the manager that was hiding in his office how to do it through an intercom system. She still didn't know how to do it and finally I said, just give me a regular dolly, I need to go. She did and I left.Jerry T.

The address and GPS directions took me to the new location, however no one was there. It was not at all eveident that I needed to go across the street! I spent over 15-20 mins trying to figure out what was going on and finally called customer service and after another 10 minutes, was finally given the key I would not recommend the mobile app to pick up the rental van.Joanne R.
I was upgraded from a van to a 17' truck because there were no vans available without any issues. The truck was clean but seemed to need some attention in the maintenance department, it struggled to accelerate and shift gears, I was glad that I only needed it for a very short in town move and not for a long highway move.Terra O.

Stop scanning driver's license data. I submitted two photo IDs (DL & military) and credit card. There is absolutely no need to scan my license to covertly learn my personal medical information such as: eye and hair color, weight/height, gender and possibly my thumb print. I returned the trailer last night and could nOT get your AP to load for return. I called your center and the lady told me to call you all this morning at 9 am. I did that and never got anyone to answer. I feel i do NOT owe the $20 when I tried to take care of it professionally and didnt get any response in return. What a scam! I have used your equipment several times of the years, and this is what it has become. What has ever happened o true customer service. The questions here do not cover my concern. I am thankful that I emptied out before this happened, but there are trucks parked up against the units where I was and only enough room for a person to get through. Just days before this I moved large furniture out of there and would not have been able to the day I closed. The other part is U-Haul in general is the slowest truck rental and storage I have ever used, I have used U-Haul a lot in the past few years. While staff are very friendly, you think doing everything online will get you in and out.....nope I’m at a minimum there for at least 40 minutes for any transaction. I tested this theory by renting a U-Haul truck from a local gas station. I was in and out in 5 min. At the actual U-Haul stores and I am have been to in multiple states, anywhere from 40 minutes to almost 3 hours....Edmond C. | Overall Experience

Question 6 above asks if I would recommend storing with U-Haul to a friend. "Yes" and "No" are the only two answers. My answer would technically be "maybe." Staff were cold, disinterested, and less than friendly. Staff was not forthcoming with information and had no interest in selling a lock to me. I had to supply three sets of ID and list three personal contacts before being allowed to rent a space for two months, even though I was paying in advance. The price for the unit was extremely high - $156.00 per month for a space barely the size of a one-car garage is ludicrous. In fact, we emptied this space at U-Haul because we were finally able to obtain a much less expensive storage space elsewhere in town (Covid had many businesses shut down at the time I initially rented). Overall, my experience with U-Haul is average. The space was clean, accessible, available, maintained, lit, odorless and functional. The facility itself evokes no ill-comment from me.
