I believe that to be the problem of the Tucson location delivery system. It was due to a driver being out sick. There should be more than 1 driver to deliver.

Gary HorimotoCindy and Theresa both did phenomenal jobs. I hope the drivers are well-compensated. Cindy was driving the truck for pickup and unloaded my box. She was efficient, cheerful, communicative, polite, and helpful. I wish I'd thought to tip at the time. Theresa unloaded my box at the first location and did a great job. I was surprised to learn she was newer to the team, because she handled the loader very well. I was honestly expecting a worse experience because I'd never used U-Boxes before and figured there must be a drawback for the affordable rate. The only quirk I encountered was delivery times getting shifted around a bit (within the same day, not to a different day), but the flexibility of pick up and dropoff made it a non-issue for me.

I was then told my home was outside the delivery area and the only way to reasonably retrieve my box was with a 3rd party who I needed to pay $400 to. I did this, got my belongings but will NEVER use this service again. It was awful and took days and hours with customer service to even find my box. No refund offered, no discount, just a comment- "Oh ya, we move boxes without telling the owners sometimes" Wow.

Laxman VattamI booked U-Box container with at-home delivery for pick up long before my move, a week before my move I received a message that it won't be delivered to my home and I should instead bring all my stuff to Kent, WA (1 hour drive), this created a lot of stress, I had to find a truck and make several trips to the container facility. Even though the later experience was good (container delivery to my final destination), I lost trust in the service. Move is a stressful event with lots of logistics involved, so services that you depend on need to be reliable. Receiving a message that my U-Box can't be delivered to my home on a short notice is unacceptable. I will think twice if I trust U-Haul with my next move in the future.
Alexey AltoukhovBasically every step of this process for which UHaul was responsible was a catastrophic failure: 1) The initial box delivery was delayed by a few two days. Requests for info were either ignored or lies. On given a placating offer for a full-service delivery + loading Moving Help contractor (that I had to pay for), they did not relay this info to the contractor. Had to both fight the contractor for info and pull people from their workdays to load the box myself and make the schedule. Don't believe I ever got the refund. 2) No clear understanding of delivery timing. I heard my box would arrive on July 24, July 27, August 8, and end of September in a 24 hour span. 3) I got 4 emails in a 7-minute span about my box arriving at the wrong location. I hired a Moving Helper to accommodate the change. Moving Help arrives; and not only is the box not where they said it was, it wasn't ready to be picked up at the new location. The only good thing about this process was the Moving Helper in Providence, an independent contractor who had just as much trouble with UHaul as I did. U-Haul's price is cheaper, but so is their service. UHaul: you need to get your house in order. Everyone reading this: go elsewhere if you don't feel like getting screwed over.
Michael WilliamsI was supposed to access my Ubox on July 29th and the whole warehouse was closed. No one was there. We tried calling the manager’s number on the door and their phone was turned off. We tried calling the president’s number which was also on the door and the line was disconnected. We had to reschedule our access date and it was very frustrating. We rented a truck for the 29th and ended up wasting money because we didn’t need it anymore. On July 30th, the next day when we were rescheduled to access the Ubox, I tried calling four times to make sure they were actually open and no one ever answered. They ended up being open and the man inside got our box out and set it outside. Halfway through unpacking it, the man working left. He closed the warehouse during operating hours. We couldn’t tell him we were done with our box. This location was horrible.

Erma SimmonsEverything was easy and went smoothly. Great communication until my box reached the Santa Rosa side. I missed a notification voicemail; as a result, my delivery was cancelled. But I didn't receive any notification of cancellation. I waited half the day before calling to check in. Thankfully they were able to deliver the following day.
Brooke HansenThe communication about pickup / dropoff of boxes was extremely poor. We'd be given a time window, but they'd show up HOURS earlier than expected. During the first pickup of our stuff nobody showed up at all, nor did they call. We had to call multiple people the next day just to learn what happened and if anyone actually coming. We were flying out *that night*, so obviously we were extremely nervous we'd be leaving all of our stuff behind with no idea when it'd be picked up Our stuff was thankfully picked up before we left, but a couple hours later the manager called and assured us our boxes would be picked up soon... meaning she didn't know they had already been. And when I told her the boxes were already gone, she was extremely surprised and seemed unsure how that happened. So... again, not very confidence inspiring We were also told many times we'd receive automated texts when a truck was 30min away. That never happened. We only received one text, it wasn't automated, and it gave an incorrect time. Other times we'd get spammed the same text over and over confirming a future time window (which was wrong). Finally, when the boxes were dropped off at destination they auto-scheduled a pickup time for the next day without telling us. And when we called about it, the person seemed to think they were picking up full boxes, not empty ones. In the end, the boxes themselves were great, and our stuff arrived on time and safe. But the awful communication destroyed our confidence in the process, and I can't recommend this until it's fixed. Moving is stressful and complicated enough without having to interpret the messages sent by your moving company as if they're a magic 8 ball.
Josh BossieThe consideration of how long a person has lived in a home should be taken when determining how many containers needed. We had lived in our home for 37 years. So six containers was not sufficient for our move out of state. We thinned and downsized before the move as well. We still needed a 15 foot truck with a trailer for our Jeep. The truck only worked because we had to break down our outdoor furniture. Which is another thing people now own. Basically anything that could be disassembled was. Which was very time consuming. Also, our sectional has two parts and one part at almost eight ft long wouldn’t fit in the containers. No matter which way we put it. Food for thought. Overall things went a s smoothly as they could. ALL the U-Haul employees were amazing in ALL of our interactions. Thank you U-haul! I have told my realtors on both sides to recommend U-Haul.

Kristi NewlonI got charged for and tricked into double paying for a rental. Upon further review I seen I was charged for moving supplies and when I checked out the truck in person was never given the supplies. I was never told I was being sold supplies at all and the people that worked at the u haul were very rude and treated me with hostility and racism. I was treated like I wasn’t English speaking from the tone and English mocking way they spoke to me. I requested a refund for the amount of $88 and did not receive any refund nor an invoice . Also I was charged $250 on top of the $160 I already paid for a $19.95 truck rental for 2 days. I returned on time and in perfect shape with $75 extra I pumped into the gas tank. I took 6 pictures of the cleanliness of the truck in the app. The manager was on vacation stayed a rude and combative employee named Damian. A second employee (a female) called me immediately after I returned the truck yelling at me like there was a problem or as if to scold me for doing something wrong again in the most offensive tone and attitude. She demanded I give her the keys and was insinuating I have taken off with the keys. I kindly said I did as the app instructed and returned the keys into the lock box. She never returned my $88 for moving supplies she orderded with my card. I will file a police report if she doesn’t do it by tomorrow. I will Persue this matter further if I don’t speak with a representative and resolve this issue. Again I don’t want to get anybody in trouble or fired nor this case become public. I just need your company to do the right thing and stop the unfair business practices.

Tara BeatonThe overall rating would have been "Excellent," but for a couple of issues. The main stressor was a communication error for which I feel U-Haul failed to take responsibility. I received an email from U-Haul indicating a time window in which my packed U-Box would be picked up. However, a lady arrived 3 hours before the start of the window. When I had to turn her away because we were not finished packing, I called U-Haul to reschedule. I was treated like I was wrong for believing the text message from U-Haul. Getting it rescheduled was stressful for various reasons, including that my landlord had approval for placement of the Ubox for a very limited time and it couldn't he picked up until two days later. The other issue was that the screws on the door to the U-Box were loose and my partner had to tighten them. Also, bolts on the U-Box itself seemed loose, but we were unable to tighten those. Other than these issues, the process was very smooth and, generally, communication was great. I would recommend use of the U-Box to others.

Taylor BiggsI needed to have the boxes picked up the day after they were dropped off because of my landlords. I even hired some movers ($350) to make sure that I'd have all my stuff out in time. I put the request for next-day pickup in with the person dropping them off for unloading, and I saw the request get updated in the system, but nobody came the next day. Or the day after. Or the day after that. I kept calling, and nobody could tell me why the mistake happened in the first place, and then the new pickup dates kept getting rescheduled and pushed back. The wait times for calling into general customer service are also atrociously long, but you have to call so many times for u-box scheduling and pickup. I'd much rather be able to do most of this administrative stuff online.

Melike BacakI relocated from Virginia, the pick up staff was awesome, and every time I called for information it was there, unfortunately the only thing I would say it was the uhaul coordinator Angelique was very late on communication in calling and emailing me about the move , I even had to pay out of own pocket for movers help, which it costs it me $185.00 , my representative from Altair even send her a email with the details and no response back the only response she gave was that she need it an address to send the u boxes, by that time uhal had already delivered the u boxes and I was almost done bringing my belongings up into the new apartment, and I have not yet received communication about it,other than that everything else was great. As for me communication is very but very important to gain customer trust.

Hai LamMy appointment was scheduled for 8:30am for self check in but after I got to the location for pick up there was no car or no way to go to self check in. So, I had to call customer service and found out that I had to wait until 9am. I had to people helping me and paid per hour. Anyways, for me this is below average service.
Astedader AlemI had returned the pickup truck less than a day? I have paid/rented for full day. I got a call from uhaul office to bring back because it is rented for another person and he is waiting? How can is possible of over booking at the same time? Roadside assistance is worth less no immediate action. Call Waiting time can go an hour. If you're stuck on the road only God can help. Rip to uhaul.
