John OcampoTruck was filthy, inside windshield was covered with something . They do not clean vehicles. The last time I rented a van and someone left weed in it , the smell was very strong. Today , before returning the truck I stopped to put gas in it . I only drove 40 miles , I put in 12.00 which was over 3 gallons , then I looked at the gauge and put in another 13.00 , so I refilled it with $25.00 , after returning it I was charged $37.00+ for gas ! By the time I saw the charge they were closed .

John JohnsonFirst off I could not get in my unit I got for my mom cause they changed the lock and the key was mysteriously missing!!!! Then when I did finally get in the unit my mom’s iMac was missing along with other things !!!! The manager claimed it was due to water damage but I specifically stated that I wanted EVERYTHING put back in unit so we could see the things ourselves but for some reasons this particular item was not there! But they managed to put other damage stuff back in the storage!! Just funny how this “iMac “ has water damage but no one can show me pictures or proof to this damage!!!!! She then told me to call the insurance carrier cause they have a list of all damages and when I called the insurance company has no idea what I was talking about!!!! I reported the iMac stolen and called the police since the item was at the price that it is I also stated I wanted to press charges!!!!! I am currently looking into how I can go about sueing because I can’t do an insurance claim without the damage “ pictures” !!!!! The way the general manager acted as if she knew that they took my mom iMac !!! Freaking thieves!!!!! THEY STEAL AT THIS LOCATION ESPECIALLY YOUR ITEMS THAT ARE HARD TO REPLACE!!!!!

Julian FerreiraGot to the location and went to check on my mother’s unit and all her stuff was stolen out of the unit! Had a brand new iMac in the unit and it was missing along with some of the clothes and other personal items! They claim that water damage happened but they put some of the things back in the storage with damage but not the “ iMac”!!!! Nobody can show me pictures of this so call damaged property! When they emailed me I specifically said PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN STORAGE INCLUDING ALL DAMAGES!!!! That way we can see the stuff for our self! Couldn’t get in the storage first off cause they changed the lock and all of a sudden nobody had the key to the lock so it had to be cut off!!!! When I asked for a list of the stuff they claimed they threw away the manager just stood there like a deer in headlights!!!! She knew that they stole the iMac and was scrambling!!!!

Lisa JonesUnfortunately, my first experience wasn't great. I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment, and 40 minutes later still hadn't handed my keys off to have my hitch installed. I asked if I could reschedule and they made that work. I appreciated that when I showed up to drop my car off the 2nd time, the same woman saw me in line and immediately greeted me and took my keys. Unfortunately, when I tried to call to ask about the status of my car several hours later there was no way to reach a live person or leave a message. That was frustrating. At the end of the experience, my hitch was installed as expected, and I was charged what I was quoted. I wish communication had been better. I would recommend this installation facility to others but with a warning about the communication issues.
Andrea HimmelsehrThe truck had dings and windshield problems that weren't documented. The interior of the truck was dirty but there was no trash on the floor or seats. The cargo section had chunks of a sandwich and other trash inside. When I spoke to the Uhaul rep on the phone he said that I could use one card to secure the rental and a second card to pay the remainder. That was not true according to the woman behind the counter. She required all of the payments to be done in one payment at the end of the rental. Now Uhaul has put a hold on the first card that might interfere with me using that money for many days. The hand truck I rented wasn't available. I was given an appliance hand truck. My first choice of pickup location wasn't available even days after making my reservation. At the last minute I was made to go to a different location. The truck's transmission sounded like it was about to die during acceleration. It had 143,000 miles. When I went to return the truck, the after hours app wasn't working properly. I entered my information, created an account and followed the instructions. Every time I went to the checkout by selecting an item it would say item not found. Please select an item to add to cart. It would never let me get to the page where I could do a proper checkout. I had to call the number. The app also did a time out too quickly. I was following the instructions as quickly as I could read them and get to the next step. Yet it would time out and force me to start the process again. There were MULTIPLE problems with this rental. I have rented many times from Uhaul. This was the third time that a truck or trailer wasn't clean at pickup. The rental before this one had water in one of the cup holders. I mean there was about one inch of water in it. It wasn't in a bottle. It was taking up the space in the cup holder. It also was missing the bottom right hand mirror. Which is crucial to see the road and the cars beside the truck. Wendy was the name of the lady on the telephone who helped me after the truck was returned. She was helpful. Do Better Uhaul.

DAVID RIOSIf I would have known that U-Box had metal options I would have chosen a metal box to ship my belongings. The wood boxes are a terrible option even for only shipping boxes. The residue from the plywood is just unbearable and made everything completely dirty. If I ever chose to ship using a U-Box again I would much rather have a metal box option. I didn't even know they existed!
NINJA TAYLORWhen I arrived I was given keys to a truck that when I walked up to it there was weeds, grass, and a ton of mud under this truck and I shrugged it off and got inside. Started it up and when I took off the brakes went to the floor and it barely stopped. DANGEROUS!!! ARE Y'ALL TRYING TO KILL YOUR CUSTOMERS? I WAS STOPPED BY 2 EMPLOYEES THAT SAID SIR THAT TRUCK WASNT SUPPOSE TO LEAVE THIS YARD??? OK THEN WHY DID YOU GIVE ME KEYS TO IT? WHAT IF I WAS IN A HURRY? AND TOOK OFF QUICKLY? I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! I THINK I SHOULD GET A REFUND JUST FOR THIS ALONE!

Once they knew I was there they were very helpful.

David WickListen to your customers and have some type of courtesy when situations arises, I checked out my trailer at 11am returned it at 1:30pm due to my truck breaking down i was never able to have the opportunity to even use the trailer a gentleman was courteous enough to help me get my truck off the road and then allowed me to hitch the trailer up to his truck so I could get it back just in case it was needed , I asked the manager on staff if I could get a credit until tomorrow when I could get my other truck and come back so I could get moved what needed to be moved and they said no. We were talking about $25 with tax which I reserved the truck for 6 hours and it’s evident I was unable to do my job, I’m just curious if I wasn’t a black man would I have gotten the same courtesy? I asked for a credit just for one day and wasn’t allowed that and for this I will never use U-Haul again for myself, my business or family and friends I will make sure everyone knows have U-Haul treats there customers over $25
Nathan BrownAt the pickup location the first keys to first start they gave me was parked in between two trucks and I couldn't get it out and it was raining. Had to go back in to get somebody to move the truck that was in front of it. After that started up and started driving it and the windshield wiper was missing on one side. Then went to get the car dolly and there was the strap for the tie down was missing not only that it was behind four other car dollies that we had to move around to get out. Then put that one on and get the one with straps get it hooked up and go inside to show him a picture of the fender world that was damaged. The manager was like oh you can't take that one that's it local one only. So how to change out the car dolly too. Then come down here to return it it says I get to return it in Rusk which is where I live at. The day of my return I get a text message that says I have to return in Jacksonville which is 18 miles away which put me over miles and I was charged for. Not only that I have images of the gas tank I put more gas in it than what was in it when I got the truck. Have photo documentation of both of them pick up and delivery gas gauges. So I'm extremely upset Not only was I charge for extra 3 gallons of gas but extra 8 Miles that only occurred because I had to drive to Jacksonville instead of my original drop off destination. David Osei Tutu | Overall ExperienceBelow average: I went to rent a storage unit Monday, Tuesday I hired movers to put my furniture inside the unit, however when the movers arrived at the storage unit there was a lock that needed to be removed due to it bring after hours we were forced to leave the furniture overnight. We looked for someone on site to assist no one found of course because they were closed. Not only did my unit have a lock on it my access key card doesn’t WORK. I called the following Morning Wednesday to advise the manager I need help with getting the lock off and possibly putting my stuff in storage due to the inconvenience I was caused. My transition should have been smooth but unfortunately it wasn’t so that left me out side at night and early in the morning with my newborn baby. After speaking to the manager she basically told I was out luck n should have looked for some one site or called her number on the keypad. As I informed her it was late, I had my newborn baby with me and trying to figure the best way to secure my furniture. I didn’t notice a number n if I had I wouldn’t trust that number would be valid since everything else was wrong. Wednesday morning I go to the site to fix the key card, after getting another card, I found out shortly that the new card didn’t work either. I stood at the storage unit for more than hour waiting on some one to come to remove the lock. The person that was supposed to come to remove the came 3 times and not once address me so I had no idea she even worked here until one of the movers told me So over all my experience was TRASHHHH
mckayia johnson | Overall ExperienceI cancelled my account due to moving out of town. Left town 12/31/22. Uhaul continued to take money out of my account until February. I cancelled the account and auto pay then. Uhaul continued to charge monthly fees and just sold the unit a week ago. I have a balance over 1k that should not be there. The whole entire experience was horrible. The Garland Uhaul center is very unorganized. When you call to talk to someone at the store they put you on hold and hang up on you. I had to call corporate to voice my concerns and even they could not get ahold of anyone there. I wouldn’t recommend my worse enemy to UHAUL. If this is how you all conduct business you should close down for sure. Poor customer service, poor organization, rude staff. Small spaces. Hard to get on and out of facility. And to top it all off nobody cares at all. As long as they are stealing money for the company it’s all good right.

As we were leaving it was a gentleman that had been there a little longer then us, Well he was trying to exit the storage with his code, as he put the code in , no response the gate didn't open. I tried my code it didn't open. So we were stuck in the storage area for nearly an hr trying to get out. We called customer service they weren't really any help. The lady on the line, tried to call security no avail. So I came up with an idea of climbing over the gate with a ladder I had found, before the big door closed down. So eventually the gentleman climbed a ladder to get over the gate to access the entrance gate from the outside. It was a horrible experience given I have anxiety and panic attacks really bad.

They didn't take pictures and took it upon themselves to throw all my stuff away with no documentation as to what they threw away. They texted! Not even a phone call to come view it. NO ONE told us they had a time limit of three days to do that. They tried to sell me that story when I arrived. I had been out of town. You can NEVER GET a human on the phone at that location. Horrid manager. I will never rent here again and will let everyone know what happened to me.

Soncire Harrison | First ImpressionsThe following is my google review that I posted on August 3rd, 2023. On July 2nd, 2023, I received a text message of possible water damage to my storage unit. So, on July 3rd, I went to the U-Haul storage facility and an insurance adjuster was with me as we inspected my unit. The damaged items were thrown out and everything else was placed back in my unit. I was told by the insurance adjuster that the items that did not sustain damage would be moved to a different storage unit. On the bottom left corner of the storage unit inspection form, the adjuster wrote “pending Ubox”. On July 17th, I went back to the U-Haul storage facility because I had NOT received any updates. I spoke with Adam as well as Anna Zetina, the General Manager, about my unit. Anna scheduled my unit to be moved at the end of the month. That way it would be moved straight into the new facility. On July 27th, I received a call from Felicia telling me that the structure where my unit was located had collapsed and that if our items had not been moved, then they would be considered a total loss. However, Felicia said that my unit was moved but it didn’t have a Ubox number or location assigned to it. Felicia also said they had to go through more Uboxes in order to figure out who they belonged to. The next day, July 28th, I stopped by the U-Haul storage facility because there were documents I needed to retrieve. I was informed by Adam that the structure had collapsed about 3 days after the flood. There is no excuse for Anna Zetina nor her staff to have waited almost 3 weeks to inform me of what had happened to my personal property. Also, why did Anna Zetina, the General Manager, schedule me towards the end of the month to move my unit, knowing my unit was no longer there? If Anna is the manager overseeing the whole operation, how is it possible that she was unaware that the structure had collapsed. Why the lack of communication and the lack of transparency during this entire ordeal? On July 31st, I was told by Anna Zetina that none of the Uboxes belonged to me. I entrusted my personal property to your care but instead the U-haul storage manager and staff got rid of my personal possessions without my consent and without communicating any of this to me until weeks later. If the lack of honesty and communication from Anna Zetina was not enough, what is more appalling is her unapologetic and indifferent behavior regarding the disposal of my personal property. Instead of making amends for what they had done or offering a solution to make this right, she just tells me to call the insurance. There was zero initiative from her part to fix any of this. As of August 3rd, 2023 , I have yet to receive compensation for the damaged items from the flood. As of August 3rd, 2023, I have not received compensation from U-haul for the personal property that they disposed of, which had not sustained any water damage and was awaiting transfer to a new unit. As of August 3rd , 2023, I have not received a full refund for the storage rent that was paid for the following billing period 7/28/2023 through 8/27/2023 as well as a partial refund for the preceding billing period, since my personal property was disposed of at the beginning of July. UPDATE: -I received payment for the damaged items from the flood. -As of August 30th,2023, I have not received compensation from U-haul for the personal property that they disposed of, which had not sustained any water damage and was awaiting transfer to a new unit. -As of August 30th, 2023, I have not received a full refund for the storage rent that was paid for the following billing period 7/28/2023 through 8/27/2023 as well as a partial refund for the preceding billing period, since my personal property was disposed of at the beginning of July. -I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

It is terrible the manager and the workers they never answer the phone. . I have moved out on July 28, 2023 and you guys are still talking about I owe y’all $215.90 when I absolutely owe y’all nothing!!! If anything, UHaul owes me for the stolen merchandise out of my storage that I have yet been accommodated for nobody’s getting back with me, I’ve even talk to customer service and submitted a insurance claim but no return call no accommodations for my 4 stolen Michael Kors purse and my purple Hewlett-Packard laptop

ELIZABETH LENON | Overall ExperienceOn July 2nd a beam fell crushing several units including my own on the second floor. To add insult to injury the entire facility was flooded by a broken pipe. Uhual called and texted for me to come in and salvage my space. When I came they told me my unit was deemed by the fire department to be structurally unsound and unsafe. Telling me in person that no inspection would take place and my unit was going to be demolished. Days after I was in there, allegedly the ceiling collapsed. 5k won't be nearly enough to make up for the trauma, and loss of 10 years of my life I placed in that unit. Needless to say I'll never use Uhual for anything again and neither will anyone I know. I can't post what they've put me through here in detail, likely they'll delete it. But let's say this company should no longer be in business with how they manage customer service. No one cares at uhual. I'm told "you can't inspect the unit, nothing is salvagable". But Repwest states they were able to go through my items and do a full inspection. And because I didn't come for my belongings they were discarded. Either Uhual or Repwest is lying. If Uhual lied there was a chance I could have saved precious items with irreplaceable sentimental value or at least had closure. But instead had to take their word for it that everything was gone when it wasnt. If Repwest is lying, that means Uhual doesn't care what kind of shady companies they align with. Nor will they make things right. They'll toss their customers into harms way with a company that has no remorse about misleading grieving customers. The only blessing in the whole situation is that I wasn't killed by uhual's ceiling. No other company would that even be a thought. They barely make it safe for human passage. What makes anyone think their valuables will be? They are supposed to provide the most basic of security, safety, in exchange for my money. I upheld my end of the exchange, can't say the same for them. Say no to Uhual's tofu buildings. Use any other company.

We call the after hours number that was on the keypad and our calls kept getting forwarded. We also sent a text message no response so we had to park the U-Haul at the hotel went to go get something to eat. Came back 30 minutes later the U-Haul is gone someone stole that is unacceptable. Lawyer is involved for corporate will be called and you guys are getting sued.

They were helpful by supplying complementary UBoxes for temporary storage, but unbeknownst to me, my 2nd level storage was ruined also. The facility notified me that the structure where my other storage unit was located, had collapsed and they had thrown all of belongings in the trash. When asked why I was notified so late, a week after the fact, the facility staff informed me that had no idea why the notification was not sent out. I lost certain items that are irreplaceable, and when asking the staff when this occurrence took place, one of them laughed and smirked. The manager Ron Cunningham made sure I was refunded any money owed. He was the most helpful. I am currently attempting to contact the insurance adjuster, but my efforts have been in vein at this point. Several phone calls, two voicemails, and an email later, still no response from anyone.

After unit was totally cleared and swept out I informed the staff it was clear. I had to go through 3 more times of informing staff it was no longer needed. This was done the first week of November. By email I was informed I was late on Nov payment due 11/14 and was added a $15 late fee. Had to call again on the 17th to try and get this mess straightened out. So sad that people can’t do their job correctly.

On top of that we had a truck to return and couldn’t get it back fast enough because of the unit delay. We got 2 phone calls in regards to the truck, because UHAUL over was booked. It was horrrrrriiiiiibbbbllleeeeee. Yesterday was sooooo long and upsetting. Had to shut our restaurant down in Beaumont. Drove all of our equipment and furniture here. Just to have to pick and chose what to keep because UHAUL over booked.

The workers…wow nonchalant is an understatement. Not to mention the attitudes of ALL the workers suck. The only pleasant one was the manager. Moving in online was not convenient. I was told my lock would be in my unit and it wasn’t. When returning the truck the black girl at the counter gave ME an attitude for following the return instructions online. IF YALL HAVE DIFFERENT RETURN INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID ON THE WEBSITE.

It was a terrible experience at the beginning and because of that I didn’t want to pay 172 for 8 days of storage rental. I was told that I need to pay it all except for a late fee or I wouldn’t be able to retrieve my items. I need better service here but I would never recommend this a UHaul. They put my life in danger by knowingly giving me a truck that was down for repair for it’s brakes. Do not go to this location. On top of this the storage facility was very messy.

First issue my lock was change and like I said no one knew what happened, so they gave me another lock. Second issue I was told led once I got an email asking me to give feedback on my move out (which was a surprise to me). So I called and the lady told me that I moved out and into another locker which was not true so another issue with someone. Again nobody knows what happened smh. So they moved me back into the original locker and then they go up on the locker like it was my fault. They just went up the same month this happened. I have never been late and some months I even paid early I guess the only thing I did wrong was paying my Locker fee on time smh. To this day no one has contact me about this issue. I’m really disappointed with the service I’ve received. On the other hand The assistant manager did do what he could.

When I moved out there was a unoccupied vehicle in front of the ramp and I could not access my unit. The office staff advised that it’s normal for homeless people to sleep in their storage units and vehicles and that they couldn’t do anything about it! I was out an hour with my movers (I’m paying them by the hour) before the homeless guy returned to his vehicle and moved it. Do not rent here!!!

Customer service call center is also terrible to i called to make a payment on my storage unit the worker stated she processed my payment well turns around she didn't and I had to pay late fees. I have nothing nice to say about a crooked evil money hunger company.

There were uhaul customers with moving trucks in the driving lane at the facility I was in blocking the exit. I was unable to get out of the facility and they refused to move. I tried to call the customer service team at the specific office I was at and they apparently do not have a direct line so I was talking to some at uhaul “corporate” that was 100% unhelpful. He was trying to get ahold of the workers on site, but was unsuccessful. We stayed on the phone for over 30 minutes in silence while he “waited”. I was unable to find another exit for me and my daughter. She was starving, had a dirty diaper, and was screaming during the entire time because what it thought was going to be a few minutes was an hour. Completely unacceptable.

It states the facility is open 24 hours, but that’s only if the keys are available for your unit and not off property with the manager. I was never given an explanation as to why the manager Vanessa had my unit keys in her possession off duty. Very unprofessional place of business and poor customer service. I took off work to move, hired movers, and got a I haul to move just to be told to wait until Monday because the manager was out due to a family emergency. I understand things happen, but what I don’t understand is why my unit key wasn’t there? Why she took it with her? I went to the facility three times and all three times they were not there. Why did she not return them? Why couldn’t staff remove lock? Why did I have to wait to retrieve my belongings?

Their are no lights in the unit, so I used my phone light. My phone ended up falling and breaking the screen. If there was ample light, I wouldn't have had to use my phone, and the screen wouldn't have cracked ($200 break). When moving in, there were several loaded trailers sitting in the lanes to park in. Made it very difficult to park the 20 foot truck I rented. Why did those trailers not have a storage? They were just sitting in the way. I won't be back to this storage or rent trucks here ever again. Very bad experience all around.

We paid 5 people to help load and unload for nothing. We tried calling the General Manager but she wouldn’t answer, according to her, her phone was uncharged. We only needed the storage unit for 2 weeks but had to pay for a month. The GM did let us have the truck all day today and a free lock.

I was harassed if I was late on my payment even a couple of days even though I had the storage unit for over a year. Every time I went to the storage unit in person I was greeted by the worst customer service known to man with angry attitude workers it’s just disgusting. Uhaul is around more and may be more convenient but that shouldn’t be a reason to treat customers terrible.
