The gentleman behind the counter at this location appeared to be having a bad day. I accidentally chose the wrong drop off time on the app. When I asked to extend to a 24hr rental, he became irritated, short and rude. He did provide me with the information I needed, was just less than friendly. Trailer was in acceptable shape and was hooked up appropriately by another staff member. Everything operated as it should and after hours drop off with the app worked as intended.

I note in particular the check out person helped with returning the truck with the right amount of gas by letting me know the miles/gallon and then helped calculate the miles I would drive so I knew roughly how many gallons to buy. 🙂

The van was dirty on the outside and it smelled like a smoker had been in it. It ran well and worked well for my purpose. I guess I thought it would be washed much like a rental car. I would use UHAUL again as the check in/check out process went well.

I hate that I have to rate the locations. They actually aren't the problem. My problem has been with customer service. The truck I rented broke down. I understand that breakdowns will happen, but the follow through was atrocious.
The breakdown resulted in the truck needing to be towed away. Fortunately, I had a family member following in my personal vehicle. So, we made the 186 mile drive home to wait for the truck to get repaired. It turned out that my items needed to be unloaded before any repairs could be made, so a different truck was arranged. This resulted in me needing to take 2 days of vacation to be there for the transfer and to be able to continue my move and the 186 mile drive back down to get the truck.
Since U-haul didn't have any drivers available, I had to pick up the replacement truck and drive it to where my broken truck was sitting. That wasn't a big deal, but when I got to the location to pick up the replacement truck, I was informed they didn't have one for me. So, my family member and I got to stand around for 1/2 hour waiting to find out if we made the trip for nothing. Finally, they released a truck to us.
When we got to the location of the broken truck, the crew hired by U-haul was there waiting for us, so we thought that was a good sign. Well, it took the crew of 5 an hour longer to transfer my items from one truck to the other (walking directly across the ramp between trucks) than it took the crew of 2 that I hired to load the truck and my crew had to navigate flights of stairs. Not only did it take them longer, but I had to help move the heaviest items, because the 5 guys couldn't do it on their own. Eventually, we were finally able to finish the move. With as late as things had gotten, we unloaded the truck the next morning. Which we did 2 hours quicker than the 5 person crew transferred my items. Granted, we weren't needing to pack and stack items, so that saved us some time, but there were 2 of instead of 5.
By the time we finished unloading, U-haul was already calling to see when I'd have the truck dropped off. I let them know it would be back within an hour. We actually had it back in about 1/2 hour.
The next day when I checked my bank account, I found out that I was billed for the extra days I had the truck due to their breakdown. I have reached out 3 times to try to get that resolved. When I reached out, I was informed that someone would be in contact with me within 3 business days. It's been almost 3 months since my initial attempt and I still haven't heard from them. Even after reaching out 2 more times and letting them know I was disappointed in the lack of follow-up.
It seems pretty obvious to me that customer satisfaction doesn't mean much to them. They were quick to collect money from me, but when they should be reimbursing money they ignore the customer.
It's very frustrating to be billed extra for their faulty equipment. The part that failed wasn't a routine maintenance type part, so I wouldn't have held the breakdown against them, if they had treated me fairly. At this point, I would never use U-haul, again.

I will not recommend U-Haul to a friend. I have used U-Haul for many many many years, and now I will go somewhere else. I made my reservation. I came there with my movers who are billing me by the hour and then I was unable to get my truck, because there was an E hold. I was told to call a phone number and was to expect a 20 minute wait which was closer to a 30 minute wait before someone came on the line and cleared me to go in and get my rental. This put me in a very bad position as my movers were then late getting my job done I had to pay more.
Also, when I first got to U-Haul, I found out they do not accept Apple Pay so I had to drive all the way back to Bloomington to get my credit card.

You can shove your equipment right up your ass. I was charged $17.00 for having the fuel level at 13/16 full. The needle was totally above 3/4. I filled the tank full in Kasson figuring I could have it at 7/8 when I arrived. FUCK YOU!!!!!!!

I rented a U-Haul big truck that matched the size of the storage u it ,one way rental , and was told I would get a FREE month of storage but when I went to claim my free month they told me that it needs to be “forward credit” and they can’t give me a “back credit”. The shift manager was excellent. We had a full truck load to store our home belongings. At first we had an inside room that said street level. When we realized it was not steer level he changed us to outside. He went above and beyond to help us. Wonderful service. I would highly recommend his customer care.

Your rates continue to increase, I moved out of my unit early and the rent was NOT prorated back to me. My payment was due in the 2nd of the month and when I went online to pay it on the 2nd you always showed me as past due?? Why are there no partial month refunds. Great for you to get paid double rent when someone moves out early!!

The storage unit was very well maintained and secure. However, the rental cost was ridiculous. It went up over !00% during the course of my rental. U Haul continues to out do their generosity every time I need them. Apple Valley MN has installed a hitch, wired lights for a trailer and now I’m renting space. The entire building is squeaky clean, the floors look like they are freshly swept and mopped. I have needed Uhaul for many services and I am so grateful for such a generous company I can rely on. We NEED more companies like Uhaul. But what is a company without its crew? Thank you so much to Apple Valley people for your kindness and attention.

I was quoted online a different price for storage and when I went to sign for it the price went up. The very rude male that waited on me said that there was nothing he could do for me. Then when I went to check out of storage and paid the upcharge rent for 3 days, they said they could do nothing for me again. Every time I went to storage the employees were all out smoking. Not helpful.

Very deceiving signage. We moved from a 10x10 to a 5x10 thinking the price was 89.95. Every sign in the store says 89.95 we sign the contract and found that we are being charged 119.95 it was quite upsetting to say the least. This was deception at its best. All but one of the staff were wearing their face masks under their noses. A face mask is virtually ineffective unless worn properly. Failure to wear the face masks properly is a sign of disrespect to the customers. It's also a violation of the law.

the first guy who offered to find a unit for me walked with me the two or so blocks to a unit that he and i could not find. This was disappointing service. When I cam back with things to store, another man said I would not want the unit that the ftist guy was trying to provide for me, since it was up some stairs or such. . The second guy selected a unit that was close to the entrance, and though it cost more, it was far more valuable.

Nothing was ever a problem and any little difficulty was corrected with professionalism and wonderful good nature by all members of staff. We stored our vehicle in their secure gated outdoor lot over the winter and needed access to it frequently. The lot was always clear and easy to get the vehicle in an out. The area was well lit . We have used this U-Haul for trailers in the past and have found the staff extremely friendly. We highly recommend this U-Haul.
