The truck was shaking, a maintenance code was on it and it had 1/4 gas for a one-way out of town instead of full tank. There are no truck stop near the Uhaul. I had difficult time getting gas.

Any other time they had the truck in front and we would go over it together. There was no damages, however if there was one was I gonna get the blame. So I was concerned because they have always check it with me before I took the truck.

Jason PitsingerI reserved a 15ft truck for 7:30pm Saturday 11/18/23 on Monday 11/13/23. When I got there, I did the check-in process through the website since the location was closed for the day. I found my truck and then when I was instructed to get the key from the lock box, there weren't any keys in it. The person I was chatting with on the website stopped answering my questions so I called customer service. She talked me through opening all of the lock boxes and there was only a key for a 10ft truck, that would be too small for my needs. I told her I would come back the next morning at 9am when they opened to get the key. She put in for a $50 guarantee for me because of the trouble I ran into. I ended up being at the lot for an hour. The next day I went in and got the key, asked about the $50 guarantee. The employee working said that he already extended my rental until 7:30 am Monday, hoping to avoid having to give me the $50. I said, well I reserved the truck for 24 hours and now I'm not getting that so it should be extended no matter what. He said I would need to talk to the manager. When I returned the truck on Monday morning, I spoke with the manager who said that she personally put the keys in the lock box and someone else must have rented the truck before I got there and there was nothing she could do about it. I don't understand how I reserve a truck 5 days in advance and then when I get there someone else must have rented it first? How is that? Also, she said, well my employee came up her to get the key for you at 9:30pm. I was there from 7:30pm until 8:30pm talking to customer service. They never mentioned someone bringing a key, nobody called me to say someone was bringing a key and why should I have waited another hour for a key that was supposed to be available to me at 7:30pm. This is just horrible customer service all around. The manager didn't even say she was sorry for the mix up or anything. Just very matter of fact told me she put the key in the lock box personally and that there was nothing she could do for me.

THERESE KECHLER | Overall ExperienceDrove a Pickup from there for 24 miles total, they tell you to fill the truck back up when you are finished, I don't believe they had the previous driver fill it all the way. It took 5 gallons of gas which is less than 5 miles per gallon and most of the mileage was highway at 55mph.. really disappointed.

David CurlPlease note that the truck was clean when we picked it up. But, while driving it to my residence, the check engine light came on and I called the store immediately. They suggested that I call UHaul roadside assistance. I did this and was told that light will come on when truck needs maintenance ( tune ups, oil changes, etc). I should not be worried and could safely operate the truck. I did and had no problems. My only comment is that this is unnerving to customers and tends to make people nervous about operating a truck with the check engine light on. Everyone involved was helpful , but I would suggest a different approach to maintenance so that customers don't get these kind of suprises. Thank you. To follow up on this issue, I drove to Pittsburgh and back to OHio in this truck. During the return trip to Ohio, the light went away. I told the drop off location about this.

Also, maybe extend the time the light stays on as when in the unit, I needed to go out repeatedly to walk the hallway to get the sensor to turn the light back on. Other than that, I found the staff and facility both wonderful. Will gladly recommend to others.

Ashley did not honor this at her location even though the website allowed me to choose this location with the promotion. It cornered me into having to borrow money from a family member as my funding availability was too low to afford it myself. If a certain location is not honoring certain promotions the website should reflect that. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had with storage units. She thought she was doing me a favor my giving me the rental for U-Haul an extra day but I had already spoken to customer service about that because the system went down and I wasn’t able to access my truck return nor my storage unit online. It was a system wide outage. Had I not needed to be at this location due to the size of storage I needed I’d have taken a storage unit at a different location.

However, I signed up online for a storage unit as well as the U-Haul rental and there was a promotion for first month free for storage. She would not honor that promotion even though the website allowed me to choose that location for storage with first month rent for free. I ended up having to borrow money in order to pay for the storage unit because I had no time to reschedule at a different location and the austintown location is closest to my house which is why I choose that location in the first place.

DAVID CURRIE | Overall ExperienceLady at the call center in Texas wasn’t real helpful, I realize I was close on time but was wanting a 15ft truck for 4 hours early on the Sat the 2nd and she could only find one at 3 o’clock. Young man at local office in Austintown phone rang and rang on Friday and when he answered put me on hold for 6 minutes and never came back. I called back again to ask my questions he was very vague. The next day come to find out the truck had been returned at 7am so we waited all day til 3 to find this out! Employees are not helpful!

There was possibly a phone call but with all the spam calls received I don't answer calls that are not identified and no voice mail message was left. The truck was very clean and we were offered a discount to return it to another facility a few miles from our new home.

Did I mention they also have furniture dollies of varying sizes to help carry your things in the heated parking garage at no charge? Love it!
