I had a scheduled appointment for my hitch. I called the night before to confirm the time and to see if could wait vs dropping it off since I live 1 1/2hrs away, they said no problem. That morning I came at my appointment time and they indicated 2-3 hrs total wait time and they would start on mine right away; since I was first in line. After spending 3 hrs at the coffee shop next door I came back and they hadn't even started it. Worse yes was that were working on another vehicle instead! I left without a hitch installed. I am beyond upset as I had to take 1/2 day off work & 3 hrs of drive time for nothing. Very poor customer service.

They did a good job and were very courteous. My appointment was at 9. They said 2 hours install time. I finally called at 1:30 and they told me they were so busy that they didn't have time to call me back. I picked my car up at 2, so they basically had it most of the day.

My main complaint about this location is that I can’t ever get through to them by phone. I have lived here 13 yrs and have rented from this location many times. They need to be staffed so they can answer the phone! This has been a long term problem.

While the staff were super friendly and to the best of their ability helped me, it all felt extremely disorganized. Last minute, U Haul switched me from one location to another, and then, I was given a truck with fuel issues. I wasn’t left broken down on the side of the highway because of them, but it did take me near 15 minutes to put 12 gallons of gas into the tank (because I was given a truck whose fuel level was “below a quarter;” it was almost on E). It’s not the biggest issue, but it was rather annoying when I’m paying the amount I am.

The staff put a hold on my daughter's credit card for $575. Told her they only accept one payment source. I called and asked, and the staff verified that's true but stated they have not taken any money, just put a hold on it. I asked if they will take the hold off so she can use her money if I pay the tab with my own credit card. They said yes. When she returned the truck I called and asked what the TOTAL was. They told me it was $936.95. I gave my card info. Paid the tab. He asked if I was coming to pick up my daughter, I said no, I'm in Florida, but once you take the hold off her money, she can call an Uber. He said ok. BUT THEY KEPT HER MONEY ANYWAY. SHE WALKED HOME IN SUBZERO WEATHER FOR MILES BECAUSE SHE HAD NO MONEY. I called and asked the manager why they suddenly are able to use more than one payment source, and he denied ever saying that. I had already explained to them that my daughter is schizophrenic, and I didn't want them taking advantage of her, but they did anyway. Taking advantage of the disabled is beyond reprehensible.

We did not receive our u-box until very late on our delivery date because the store did not have the staff to deliver it. We were not notified of this. We had to call repeatedly to figure this out.
Our u-box was delayed in transit and again, the coordination from uhaul left a lot to be desired. Overall, this was a very poor experience, logistically. For the the price, we expected the u-box to be dropped off on time and delivered on time.

We appreciate that the front desk staff did not want us to have to wait while they were helping other customers at their busy location; however, it was odd that they expected us to take their word for it that they would check in the equipment later and email us a receipt. We left without any actual proof that we had returned the equipment which felt risky as the consumer.

When I made the reservation I was supposed to pickup and drop off trailer in my hometown of Ennis, MT. A few days before my pickup day I receive a call from Uhaul saying I would have to pickup in Bozeman, MT, 55 miles out of my way. When I pickup trailer in Bozeman I told the clerk that I wanted to drop off in Ennis which he stated would cost 4 times as much. So I bring the unit back to Bozeman. Now I have driven an extra 165 miles!!! I will not use Uhaul in the future and if anyone asks my opinion of Uhaul I will tell them to look elsewhere.

Your Butte location is a nightmare. Ashley was hateful and wouldn't do her job and didn't know how to do her job. I've used uhaul many years and after my Butte experience I hope to never use it again. I'm 75 years old and disabled and needed a little help driving my car up the auto transport as I have no balance anymore. I had to find 3 men who were nearby to load and lock down my car. Ashley just stood and then went back to the store without securing my car. She also lied to me about why she had no auto transport for me. Do you really need an employee like her.

I rented this van using the app. The location had not prepped the van the night before. The van only has 5000 miles on it, but the cupholder area was sticky from previous use. The seats were covered in dog or cat hair. It was not cleaned well.
I have rented from this location many times. The trailers have been clean and other trucks have been clean. I used the app because the location is so busy, it generally means I am at the location for an hour.
When it was time to check out, the keys were not in the lock box and I had to wait on the location to open.
My frustration with this experience was equally disappointing with the app. It did not go through the process correctly. Even though I had no keys it still dispatched the van without opportunity to take pictures or note how dirty the interior was.

Everything was fine until I came back to return the equipment and the representative didn't even acknowledge me, just unhooked the trailer, slammed it on the ground and walked off. I had to go back inside to ask if there was anything I needed to do since representative still had not spoken or made eye contact with me.
If I wasn't a confident man, I would have been afraid for my safety. I sure will not send my wife or friends to this location.

The vehicle was obviously not full of gas when I picked it up. I drove a total of 16 miles and had to put in 6.7 gallons of gas. I told the attendant that did the check-in at time of return. He took the information including a copy of the gas receipt. He said the manager would contact me the next day regarding this. I still have not been contacted by any uhaul representative.

Was REQUIRED to pay for the $11 damage waiver, not permitted to waive it even though the system gives a choice. Was told it was now required at this location (but not company wide) due to other renter's damaging vehicles.
This is likely illegal, and an obvious way for this location to rip off customers and make additional easy money.
I have been a customer of this location and will NEVER rent here again.

Get your ducks in a row, you seem to have enough staff but nobody knows what to do. Two people helping me, one trying to find the key the other one telling me there isn't the equipment to rent and that I have to drive 150 miles to get it. In the end I got my vehicle and drove off, but spent 20 anxious minutes because the staff did not have a clue.

The only thing that I would recommend is to have more technicians close by in case of an issue. Had a tire blow out and was actually in a town that had about four different Uhaul dealers but none of them were able to help change the tire. So I had to wait for a service tech to come out and change the tire for me.

Evan GM is arrogant rude should not be a GM nor be customer service. He can get away with it because it's Bozeman no one wants to work. I've complained several times about him . Even the employee said he was a ass hole not very accommodating. I've gone to the jack rabbit location night and day . So nice helpful day and night difference. Sydney GM and other employees need a raise. I've given U-Haul close to a thousand renting your equipment. I've gotten into couple of verbal arguments with him . You're only as a good as your team .

There was a pigeon trapped inside the facility and there were feathers and bird droppings through out the facility. We had reserved a 10' truck that was not available when we arrived. We did receive a 15' truck at the same cost, but that did not offset the extra cost of gas. We had also prepaid for two small boxes and requested a hand dolly that did not make it to the reservation switch from a 10' to a 15' truck, so we had to pay for a more expensive appliance dolly. The truck had been swept out, but the front of the truck and windshield were covered in bugs. I tried to buy a cheaper lock, but the clerk talked us into a more expensive combo lock. We had trouble using it and one of the technicians at the shop helped us to get it closed. When we arrived at our destination we could not get it open. We had to call roadside assistance to come cut the lock off. It took them almost two hours to arrive from Denver. He was very helpful and nice and it only took him about 5 minutes to get it off.

My bad experience started after I set up my storage. It's the highest -priced storage facility in town, so you would think their online account system would be flawless. That's not the case. The price was way too high for the size of Unit. Only rented it because it was the only thing available within 30 miles. The closing time of 7pm made it very difficult to access with my work schedule, they never fixed the alarm system in the 3 months I rented. Even just asking them to unlock the sliding door took 15 minutes because I had to wait in line to talk to the only employee they had in the office.

The facility kept our things safe and dry and the staff is great, so 5 stars in that regard. But the move out experience was frustrating. We cleaned it, submitted our photos and move out request online. One week later the request was still pending and they had charged our account for the next month plus a late fee. I had to call to get it sorted out, which makes me not trust the online system.

It started when I needed a small storage unit. Priced as advertised on the wall and in flyers differ. One employee gave me a coupon for one month free and the other said it was not valid unless I had driven a rental truck. One employee assigned me a small unit after another and several were with belongings of customers that were held up because of lack of payment. Eventually she gave me a slightly bigger unit. I had already paid for the smaller unit and understood it to be your policy that if a smaller unit (the one the client wanted) is unavailable then the next one up is given at the lower price. A month later when I get a bill it is $30 higher than expected. I go ask several times in person and I am always told that the supervisor will take care of lowering my bill, that I just need to swing by when she is in. Eventually I coincide with her but she says, in a short manner, that she will not adjust anything and that the higher fee was to remain. As soon as I could I emptied the unit and cancelled my contract. You understaff the facility too, whenever one goes the line is short but customer care takes forever.

I chose to get a uhaul to get the storage offer. After my long trip I stopped by to drop it off and unload my things. They sold my storage, didn't have me on file and gave me a 5x5 instead for a packed 6x12 trailer and a filled suburban. I had to extend my trailer time and pay 80 for a different storage mentioned by the staff. So now I've paid more than double what I was contracted.

Here's the small thing first. You might want to update and revise your wording on office hours and access hours. I was under the impression that after checking into my unit that I had until 10pm access my unit. While moving my things into my units(argh!) I was told I needed to be out by 7pm... I was moving cross country and got there at 5:30pm. Here's the big one. I reserved one of your biggest units since I had a lot of stuff. I called 2 or 3 hours ahead of arrival to make sure everything was in order and was assured by the lady everything was and the unit was ready. When I got there I was told that my reserved big unit was not available like I was assured and have paperwork on. It was to be on first floor as well so my 75 year old father didn't have to take stairs. I was offered 2 smaller units that barely allowed my furniture to fit nicely and not pretty much everything is just thrown in these two units because of size constraints and time allowed. My plan for the big unit was to make everything accessable to me when needed, it is not. Why have reservations for your units if you can't honor them? Again I called to confirm 2-3 hours before my arrival and was assured that it was there waiting for me! I would have looked elsewhere, but couldn't take the time to do so on account of the time I arrived, returning back from Seattle, and that the trailer was due back in Laurel the next day. The two guys that were helping me we're fine even though I was quite frankly very angry at this situation. They did try to help as much as possible. I could rattle on and on over this, I will end with I am great disappointed with u-haul and its failure to honor its word. I expect more from the people here in MT.

The staff here are young guys which is fine. Not sure if it’s because they are very busy. But just not overly kind or friendly. We have 3 units in Pleasanton CA where we live. It’s spotless And has a courteous staff. 2 weeks into having this unit I received a phone call from a young man there letting me know he had let a patron inadvertently cut our lock off thinking it was his unit I could not understand why it wasn’t one of the workers there. His response to me was mistakes happen. Then tells me keys are hung up on the wall for the new lock. I asked him to please put them in the safe and that I would have. A friend come pick them up. Completely inconvenient. Happy to be done with this unit.

Helpful staff. Uncomplicated return of truck. Very nice offering free storage for a month, but tried to force me to buy a lock for the storage unit when I had my own lock. Did back down in the end.

EMILY at the Bozeman office was awesome! The national folks COMPLETELY screwed things up, and never bothered to contact us. So she was left to clean up their mess. & she did so professionally.

Thi s facility is not open all night. One side of it has a door that needs a staff to unlock. It happens at 7 am. It's okay, they are very helpful.

I'd like to speak with the manager regarding my access to the UBox last week. Due to staff being on vacation, I was not able to access my box when I needed to even though giving over 24hrs notice.

I needed to schedule a U-Box delivery from New York to Bozeman. The staff at Bozeman U-Haul helped me arrange everything at both ends and everything worked out perfectly. An excellent experience!!!

Said my card was was declined when it wasn't. Would not proceed with move. Discover told me they put in wrong expiration 5 times. After this was fixed my movers had been waiting 2 hrs Stressful!

The staff was useless when my key snapped off in the U-haul lock I was required to use. They refused to cut the lock, and told me to call a locksmith. I had to buy a grinder to cut it off. Thanks!

The storage unit rental for my son did not come without challenges. I feel once the store manager, Jesse, understood my frustrations he was very helpful. I appreciate what he did for me in closing.
