Just thoroughly check all the rentals going out and being returned. The personnel do not really ask if there were issues, and I don’t think they would care if something was reported. I think some other system needs to be in place to help avoid problem vehicles.

Everything is via an app now. I don't know why y'all bother to have employees at the desk since they don't do anything. They had 3 staff members at the counter who couldn't be bothered to help with anything because it's all online. Check-in? App. ID? App. Vehicle inspection? App. Return? App. It really is U-"on your own". Just have a robot dispense the keys next time

I reserved a van at one location, received a confirmation the day before on the location, and when I travel to the location (which took me 50 minute) there was no van to be found. I called to get assistance and I was told to cross town to a different location another hour away.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with this location - I am honestly sad I don't need to store anything anymore because they were so great to work with. Every single member of the team was helpful, friendly and proactive in making sure I was taken care of. This "above-and-beyond" level of service was especially appreciated as I am currently living halfway across the country. I would recommend this location to anyone in the DMV who needs storage and if I need a storage unit again I will be coming back here. Thank you!!!!

The location is packed!!! The trucks are packed bumper to bumper. There is no way to inspect the equipment thoroughly, and that might cause now problems for me because later on when I drive off the truck shows some damage!!!

The checkout process on the website is terrible. The directions on the website do not match the ongoing, real time process. Had to re-enter the same data multiple times. Would be much easier and quicker if an employee participated in the process.

The after hours return lane was clogged with trucks and inaccessible. Need to have some signage directing afterhours returns to PULL ALL THE WAY FORWARD into a lane. I had to thread the needle pulling in to the lot from the exit, or would have had to park on the street or across they street.

The process for getting a van was not smooth, I had to go back and forth from the parking lot to the customer service station several time because of the van being blocked in and then the process to assess the vans condition not functioning properly.

The truck was not checked well, the oil was so low I had to turn around after driving for 10 mins, delayed our drive by over an hour. I also reserved a van and when I got there they said I had to take a truck, I wish they would have told me that over the phone when they confirmed the reservation.

We can start off with attending the customer instead of having them scan a code on the wall. I was there for an hour and a half and the last 30 minutes they want to help me and do their job then they give me a truck that didn’t even have a motor cap on it so the hour drive that I had made to go to the unload, the truck was smoking and oil splattered everywhere then to wait four hours just to get another truck worse experience I’ve ever had with you guys never again

While the vehicle was clean and operated well, the furniture pads were another matter. Upon unpacking the pads, both myself and my wife developed a significant rash on our arms and chest. We immediately desisted use of the pads and simply moved them to the side with gloves on to avoid touching them more. When I went to return the vehicle the garage attendant asked if I could fold the furniture pads and I declined noting the rash that we received. He said "Oh yeah, I never touch those things because they give me a rash all the time". This poses a significant health hazard to more vulnerable populations and all furniture pads at this location are either compromised or else should be removed. I will not be going back.

Uhauls mobile pickup process is fucking absurd. Provide 3 contacts for references, work contact, passport, redundant picture taking. My bank doesn’t even ask for that much information and a normal rental car company sure as hell doesn’t. I will NEVER rent again rent a moving truck from U-Haul so long as these absurd policies remain in effect.

The manager and one of the female workers were amazing! They were extremely helpful. The app and the check in process through the internet was awful. It took 45 mins to check in. These two ladies helped a lot. At one point the check in couldn’t verify my location (though all my location services were on) and asked for the bar code of the location. Neither of them knew about this and the barcode we found on the door didn’t work. It is very frustrating and I think I will try to rent through Home Depot from now on. The trucks aren’t maintained well and I could tell the manager and the women helping me didn’t like the guys who serviced the trucks. Uhaul wants to be digital but their app and check in process is awful.

The mobile pickup process is a chore and takes too long. As a customer, I want to drop vehicles and go. Not spend an extra 10 minutes taking photos. It feels like the customer is working for U-Hail. Let the staff do that return process.

The app has issues. I had to go in and talk to the guys to get the truck ID because the screen changed and I couldn't get back to the information and was really not happy about it. The reservation got very close to being canceled because I was 30 min late to arrive and I spent 30 min in the parking lot trying to get through the app. i was also charged for a Dolly that I didn't get and for a pack of packing blankets that I had to just take from the shed because no one was around, which didn't feel right... overall I wasn't thrilled with my experience..

The staff at this location was unfriendly and unhelpful. When I arrived to pick up my truck, they looked at me like that was something they’d never heard before. When I asked about furniture pads and a dolly, the guys working the lot pointed at a shed without saying a word. I was very disappointed at how unhelpful they were.

I had a very full truck of supplies to move to an event. I had a lot of paper material ruined in "mom's attic' from a leak. Around 25 books and 500 single sheet hand outs were ruined. Luckily we had enough which is why I'm not seeking to file any loss complaint. However, the truck I used should be inspected for leaks on the roof. Thanks.

Very friendly staff. It is not clear that check-in should be done on the phone. A bigger and more clear would have been helpful. I lost 30 mins on a day that was stressful enough. Also, because another customer was faster with the check-in and got the vehicle that was reserved for me. It took the customer rep a bit to understand why the system wouldn't let her check out the car.

The staff is amazing - they jump in the help and they know their fleet. The location is convenient, even if there's no parking (it's within a 10m walk of Metro, though). They always have a decent selection of trucks. but... Improve the app - for the love of all that's holy! It couldn't find the location, it couldn't scan the QR code, it put me 20 minutes behind schedule. I am so grateful to the team at the desk for their help!

When you reserve a Uhaul you fill out all this information either on the app or on the website. EVERYTIME I go, the app doesn't work. EVERYTIME, I have to wait at the counter and refill out all the information. The service is incredibly slow and not helpful. EVERYTIME there is major body damage to the Uhauls.

In addition to the 10-foot truck, I pre-ordered furniture pads, a furniture dolly, and handtruck. None were in the truck when I checked, and then I was informed that there were none of any of these available. I understand inventory can be tough to manage, but I could have at least been notified before I picked the truck up.

The staff was short. I waited 40 minutes in line after my reservation. The woman employee vented to me. I didn't care. I just wanted my rental. The guys outside are rough and spoke poorly about a customer who left and wanted to ensure they would get a refund for whatever reason. Poor customer service.

Took well over an hour for online check in to work, and then when we finally got the uhaul there was less than 1/4 tank of gas in it. They didn’t have either of the Dollies I rented and I still got charged for it.

They didn't have a dolly for me to rent. That made my move more labor intensive. I ordered 2 medium boxes, the didn't put them in the truck, didn't tell me I had to pick them up my self. I didn't get them. Some confusion on who gets the boxes.

Uhaul has a great, modern customer service business model. Their online platform let's you easily start/stop a storage rental and do a self check out of boxes in the store. Amazing. Saved me a bunch of time. When I needed personal help I I quickly got to speak with a helpful person in the store.

I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! The paying customer. Based on this experience I'll never use U-Haul services in DC.

It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.

Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff. It was concerning as we don’t know what it was and whether it causes a health risk. The office staff were unhelpful and just said - we should have gotten insurance. Unacceptable!
