RHONDA WThe check in process with the app was a total disaster. You should stop having customers use the app to check in until you can get it to work. The gentleman at the counter did a great job of checking me in. Drop off was also less than pleasant. I brought the van to the drop off area and nobody was there. I looked around outside and didn’t see anyone in the yard. I went inside, but nobody was there. I went back out and looked in the garage and saw a lady sitting there playing with her phone. She had seen me before but didn’t say anything. I asked her if there was someone to help. She said just leave it and you will get a receipt emailed to you. I took a few pictures to verify the location/condition/mileage and left. I still have not received any receipt

The person working was not welcoming and barked orders at me. There was no greeting when I arrived. Here are the only two thing she "said" to me: "Get out of the truck". "Leave the key on the seat".

There may have been some instructions posted, but when I arrived there was a truck in front of me and I wasn't clear on what I needed to do. I would have liked to have gotten a confirmation that everything was OK before I left.

Brian JThe GM of this establishment is so nice! I spaced one of the blankets at my old apartment. When I saw it I was so upset and I thought they were going to charge me for it immediately. I had it back to them within 30 minutes of dropping off the truck. The GM made a little joke that made me feel so much better. Great service!

Jim GFirst trailer was hooked up to truck and when I pulled it, it sounded like the tires were rubbing. On closer examination, found severe damage to left rear of trailer resulting in the aft axle not in line with forward axel by 10 degrees. Totally un-towable. Next trailer the lights did not work. Last trailer worked good. Here is the rub---- I drove all the way from Mississippi to drive a trailer full of belongings back. If the damaged trailer had been the only trailer to choose from, them I would not have had time looking around trying to get another trailer. Thank you for having several to choose from, but hope you fix that first trailer instead of renting it out to another person who may not notice. One bump and the vehicle may loose control of a trailer with non-aligned axles! The guy that serviced us is top notch. It was not his fault at all!

Monique BThe Employees are rude and unprofessional. I walked in at 10:30 for a 11:00 appointment after trying to call 3 times just to ask the ball size for the trailer. Nobody even in the place then made me stand there 10min before engaging with me and I quote “what do you need”. Left went and got my ball which I shouldn’t had to make a special trip came back and the rudeness continued to all patron’s.

JOHN MCustomer service called my phone after deciding to keep the truck for one more day since it was late for return even though I was willing to pay for it, her tone was nasty and disrespectful and even when I returned the truck to the location it didn't change and she never apologized.

Kristen HWhen we arrived to pick up our trailer, there was a line of 6 people ahead of us who had all been waiting 25 minutes or more, with no employees to be found anywhere. (This was at 4:30 in the afternoon, and the place is supposed to be open until 6:00pm). We waited another 10 minutes before anyone working there showed up. Then 2 guys working there showed up acting like we were inconveniencing them. Eventually we worked our way through the line of people and got our trailer.
Mark MScraping sounds from rear brakes as truck was driven. Gas was noted as 1/4 tank on take-out but was less... closer to 1/8th. Returned with more than 1/4 tank.

DENNIS HJust be aware that if you are only 5 feet tall, you will not be able to operate the cargo van - unless you bring a 4-5” thick back cushion to situate yourself closer to the gas and brake pedals. The seat itself does not move close enough. I wish I had known this before I scheduled the rental. Thankfully my husband was close and could meet me there to drive it. Also, it would be nice to be able to do the pre-checkin online through the website and not have to download the app. Even though deleting the app afterwards is a choice, I would rather not add another needless app to my already full phone if I don’t want to.

Branson C | First Impressionswe picked up our uhaul on June 1, loaded up in fort wayne, planned to drop off the stuff in castleton....BUT HAD NO WAY TO GET INTO STORAGE!!....we had to drive out to the old house and then BACK TO THE STORAGE PLACE the next day for an extra 90 miles AND GAS!!....So no, , we are not at all happy with our service and we hope uhaul will NOT CHARGE US THE EXTRA 90 MILES and reimburse us for the wasted gas....bad deal

My only complaint is that the lot that the units are on is littered with broken glass, lots of screws & bolts, & trash here & there. We’re lucky we didn’t get a flat tire from the debri lying around. Otherwise, service was good & staff was friendly.

I'd an urgent issue present itself, and they were most understanding of my need to take phone calls. It was very refreshing. Absolutely a 10/10! The head of the Castleton, Indiana branch (on 86th street), Hailey, maybe, was completely delightful to work with, and her (clearly new) employee, who's name cannot recall, was attentive and considerate.

So, I made a Police Report w/IPD, to investigate this situation. I told the front office about this MATTER. So, I had to remove my vehicle from the premises, because I was notified that all items stored outside would have to be removed before the expiration date. So, I was really upset about that incident. I only had the storage for 3 months and they told me they would no longer store boats and RVs because of renovations. A huge disappointment for me, it’s difficult to have to find a place to store a boat when I thought I had already had a place.

Only 2 out of multiple people I’ve interacted with there (manager and a guy named Nate) had a positive attitude. Everyone else made me feel very unwelcome and like I was inconveniencing them.

I moved all of my things out and they continue to charge me for the storage unit when it was empty for 2 weeks prior to my move out date. I am still getting letters saying I owe money that I do not owe anything?? Seriously I would never use or recommend U-Haul again to anyone unless they change some things and clean up the junkyard. I was disappointed in the level of service and poor conditions for my valuable furniture. I am a very fair person and I only say the facts because I don’t like to say bad things about anyone or anything, but this experience was one of my worst thus so far as moving is already enough stressful enough and adding poor service and conditions just makes it even more stressful. juanda p | First ImpressionsI get robbed on my trailer 2 TIMES!!!! I call managers, customer service and no one help me out. They take out a lot of stuff from the trailer. I was paying for security and i dont receive NONE OF THAT. I was really mad at the service, the employees see me at the office and dont help me out at all with the situation. I do two police reports and still not getting a compensation for all that inget robbed on the trailer. They said that they dont have footage for that days... i was really angry. I do not recommend this for anyone and im never gonna use this storage AGAIN. CASTLETON INDIANA

Had I known that it was going to be that disgusting I would have rented somewhere else. In all the years I've been using U-Haul this was by far the worse filth I've ever seen.

The unit I was reassigned would not align with the lock part so I couldn’t use the lock I purchased, in the correct spot. Customer service is horrible everytime. Doesn’t matter if I come in for boxes or something else.. there’s no greeting. They ignore you even when they are not with a customer. They NEVER answer the phone. Interactions are very boring and monotone. A very unhappy staff. Will not be using this facility again.

Even if there’s a short wait (when they are not with customers) nobody says they’ll be with you in a moment or even acknowledges you’re standing there. The transactions at the counter are always very monotone and awkward. Yesterday I was there because I had a reservation for a storage unit. The unit I was assigned was half open and still had items in there. I was assigned a new unit and luckily that one was empty. No apology at the counter. Just a new sheet of paper with my new unit number. The staff is worse than the workers at the post office. I come to this location often and once I am done using my storage unit, I’m most likely going elsewhere.

RONNIE M | First ImpressionsTold that my access was 24/7( Posted on the gate). Get up their after hours in freezing weather and had no access. My vehicle was inside so I had to leave there walking. You haul customer service( While I was freezing) Would not Grant my access until they somehow contacted the general manager of the u-haul location where my vehicle was. Otherwise I was going to have to wait until 5:00 a.m. when he came in. This turned in to about a 2 hour ordeal when I was finally granted a pass cold that would let me into the storage. The passcode that I originally created would not work at all. I had to walk all night just to stay warm until this FINALLY happened!

There had to be moved before I could access my trailer. What made me cancel the space was when my trailer was vandalized and locks cut. No trust in the level of security here or respect for people’s property.
