Your automated transportation system that sends messages to clients tho . . . that is a whole new problem. The message that you can be refunded $500 if you pick up a preloaded trailer, comes across as a scam. And the message that states you can pick up the truck the evening prior to your scheduled date at no additional charges, didn't work either -- in fact it became rather ugly on my part, as I believed I could, came in with another individual to do so and was told it wasn't on the orders. Then it pushed my blood pressure up and attitude as well. Even tho your service rep in store continued to be as courteous as possible. I was almost home and your service rep called back and said it was an error on the part of transportation and I could pick it up -- I wasn't driving another 30 minutes back to get it at that point until the next morning.

MARK GMy only complain is that the computer system is really bad. We tried to get a single, large rental, but only small ones were available. The result was we rented two small ones and when we emptied one, we couldn't end payment for the empty one because of the system. Also, despite trying for months, autopay never worked. I had to manually pay every time.

Unable to adjust side mirrors and had difficulty in checking the vehicles following. Especially passenger side mirror didn’t help much as unable to adjust as needed. Vehicle produces so much noise while driving and very slow pickup. And there is a delay in breaks response, if I apply breaks here it stops after 10-15 seconds. And the vehicle in not smooth to drive.

Tina H | First ImpressionsI visited the store and made my reservation. Two weeks before the check-in date, I received a cancellation notice in my email. This happened, because the manager keyed in the wrong date for my arrival. I called, and the assistant manager, Robyn, I think, was supposed to have set it up correctly. I called on Wednesday two days before to reserve a box truck, and when I called, they could not find my unit storage rental! I had a nine minute conversation with a young man, who reserved a storage room for me again, luckily, there was one to be had. Also reserved a truck for me. I called on Thursday and asked if I could move the reservation up a day. Only to find that they could not find a reservation again. So a lost reservation, two employees confirmed that I had a reservation, and then when I made that phone call on Thursday, I found it. There was no reservation again. When my son went to pick up the truck on Thursday afternoon, they couldn’t find the reservation. When he arrived at the storage facility in Lake St. Louis, they could not find a reservation, and I had to reserve one on the spot again. This was just a terrible experience, had they not had extra units available, I would’ve been in a very difficult situation. On top of that, no one that I spoke to seemed very concerned that these reservations were confirmed, verbally, and not actually made.

Even after three years all of our goods were clean and dust free, and in good working condition. We have several paintings that still look like new, have no cracked paint, warping, yellowing of paper, or mold growth. Upon inspection of boxes, there are no signs of insects, or mildew. Sarah W | Overall ExperienceThanks so much! In the midst of a lot of stress and unpredictable challenges, your helpful and flexible staff was a godsend. I don’t live in the area anymore and I’m disabled (not dying anytime soon, but I can’t travel long distances by myself and my endurance is limited). On extremely short notice I had to find a way to retrieve things from my deceased parents’ home and a place to store them, or forfeit them for good. I’m blessed that friends in the area could help, and that they went to your facility for the space. In the 2.5 years since the rental was established, I and a rotating cast of friends have been in and out. I also had to switch out the billing to go from my friend’s card, to mine. When that card expired and I missed a payment, your staff was patient. When the flooding occurred, I was notified promptly. On that note, while nothing of mine was damaged, I WOULD have been upset if it had. Of course you anticipated customers that were affected would be justifiably upset, but your response was unlike almost any other business I have to deal with—you owned it. As far as I could tell, there was no delay notifying customers while you consulted with attorneys to craft a script of word salad full of excuses and devoid of responsibility. Staff simply emailed and called, knowing they were going to get an earful from some people. That kind of moral fortitude is rare these days, and it absolutely makes a difference, especially in the lives of people like me. With far fewer functional hours a day to take care of responsibilities, health, and needs, it an be difficult to carve out any time to relax and enjoy life, even when everything goes as planned. When unexpected events come, a friendly voice, kindness, honesty, and helpful attitude makes a HUGE difference. I’m highly confident that you've taken steps to avoid future floods, and would recommend your facility to friends. If you didn’t have the space just tell me and I would have looked elsewhere.. Moving is stressful enough without games like this. Thankfully, I was able to quickly find a true 10x15 space with a nearby competitor and route our delivery there. I know U-haul doesn’t care about the lost business because you are obviously full up, but my family will never use you again and I will tell this story often. You are not the only provider any more and need to treat your customers better. Also, the place I ended up moving into was 15 degrees cooler, cleaner and less hectic. Turn down the A/C!

When the U-box department at the Spanish Lake location failed to deliver my U-boxes or even call me to tell me they weren't coming (less than 24 hours before movers were supposed to come) I anxiously called the Lake St Louis U-Haul and explained to Tara what my situation was. She was amazing and just took care of everything. She got me a truck and two storage units set up for the very next day in about 15 minutes. Cool as a cucumberand just sweet as pie. There should be more people like her at U-Haul because she knows exactly what customer service is all about! I had a really good experience and I would definitely recommend this location!

It was modern , so clean, convient to get in and out and all types of supplies on hand to purchase plus staff always helpful if needed. Only one critique at the Uhaul in Florida they had a spot to return old boxes to to give to others but this one did not? However, I am still looking into if Uhaul is a public company and will buy stock!. A very smart well-run company !
