The location wasn’t an issue but U-Haul itself was. I reserved online only to be told to pick up at another location and they raised the price by $200+. Not ok. Deceitful practices.

Mid conversation he even told me to shut up at one point. That he is basically having a bad day he's gonna take it out of everyone else . Very bad customer service at drop off only. I was given a truck but the truck could not be found on the lot. In another 15 minutes I was given a different truck. Then they could not switch the paperwork because the computer was not operating properly.

WENDELL OIENFirst y'all closed my storage unit early accidentally and I had to drive out to the office before their early closing time to make sure our unit wasn't lost. Then, a month after I did the online move out over the mobile app, this location charged me around $150 in rental and late fees for not paying to rent the unit the next month. I had to call and be connected to customer service to explain I moved out and completed the process over a month prior. They then had to put me on hold while we waited almost 30 min for the location's office to answer their phone, which they didn't even answer on the first call. This office is extremely flawed. Needs entirely new management, possibly employees too unless there can be better oversight.

I serve a foodbank distribution organization and see a number of U-Haul trucks at the pick-up location. The only thing better than U-Haul looks like free, donated trucks and volunteers. Thanks U-Haul.
WENDELL OIENNo suggestions for improvement - the installation went off without a hitch. Wait, it involved installing my hitch, strike that. Perfect installation and completed ahead of schedule. That morning, they confirmed with me in the morning with enough time that, had I forgotten the appointment, I would still have been on time. Pricing is reasonable and being able to order the hitch and schedule the installation in a single step is hugely convenient.

Brent WalmsleyI was a before hours pickup customer 1. The van was staged trapped between parked cars. 2. The directions led me to the wrong van making me search the yard for the correct one 3. The van was basically empty upon pickup 4. The directions to the drop box was false, the lock was on the back of the van and not by the door I will never come back and I urge customer service to provide me my refund of $69 and change due to the inconvenience resulting in my being late for scheduled activities that day.

Then another renter next to us told us that she had stuff stolen from her locker by the manager of the facility and was pressing police charges. It made me feel like my stuff wasn't secure, then the team assumed I was done because my locker was temporarily empty and they closed my account so I had to waste the gas coming to restart the contract and get our locker back.

It wasn’t sanitized or even aired out Stunk like cigarettes and cigars it was gross. It was on 5 miles til empty. Had to follow a big rig to a gas station. Stanley PerryI usually don’t leave reviews but our experience for our move was awful and made 10 times more stressful because of u-haul. This location never had our boxes out on time. We have waited over an hour EACH time we requested them out (they asked us what time we need them) and no one seems to take accountability for this. When we did ask why they weren’t out on time they had no sense of urgency to get them out. One employee told us that we could have the boxes delivered to our house (no additional cost beyond the delivery fee). We call the next day to schedule, another employee tells us that the “final destination” was changed to the u-haul location, so we would have to pay movers (through the companies they contract with). No one told us this. We asked for other options since it was them who lacked to communicate this to us and we didn’t anticipate on spending hundreds move to get these boxes out. To which they said “if you have a truck it will be free”. We don’t own a truck, so of course they try to sell us on renting more of their equipment and renting one of their trucks. The reason we wanted the boxes dropped off to our house was because we don’t have time to go to u-haul, pick up the boxes, drop them off at our house, then go back to u-haul to drop them off. We already had so many things going on due to the move. Numerous times when we explained the situation to all the u-haul employees they didn’t care and seemed to be passive aggressive when talking to us. Everyone here is incompetent and flat out rude. DON’T rent from here or this Long Beach location.

Jose OrellanaEnsure the vehicle is properly maintained and checked before renting. The tire pressure light starting blinking while I was driving on the 91 freeway. I started to panic a little but decided to get off the fwy and head to another uhaul so the vehicle could be checked. The staff member put air in both rear tires. I continued on to my destination but there was message on the dashboard that read both rear left and right tires were at 74 and to monitor system. I called roadside assistance and the guy met me at my destination to check the tires. When I returned the vehicle to the location I told staff member, Roberto Fernandez about the tire pressure light but he told me no sensor came on when he turned on the car. I understand that but as a paying customer I shouldn’t have to be stressed about a vehicle that I am paying to rent. Mr. Fernandez did offer me a credit but in the future, it would be nice if this location could ensure their vehicles are ready to be rented, by checking tire pressure, hoses, etc.
Jessica GuinnThe location was fine. The uhaul app was the issue. I was doing pick up before the location opened. While at the location the app kept saying I was not there and it took over an hour of waiting in the parking lot to finally be able to pick up the truck. It was a dreadful experience. Also, for the drop off location, the app was only giving me drop off location options 50 miles south of where I was moving to. Thankfully I was able to get someone on the phone who got me a drop off location within a few miles of where I moved to. Never had issues with Uhaul before, I doubt I will use Uhaul again.

Well i sure did do something about it I moved at that same day. Would have REP retrained better on customer service. I bought a shed n moved out that same day! used your uhual truck only because it was convenient but that will be the last service I acquire from you moving forward. Answer rude to another individual! I spent over 2k there and this is how your staff responds to me.

I had to Drive more than 30 miles to retrieve that van, although I reserved it AT LONG BEACH a month in advance. Then I had to retrieve the car carrier trailer at another location 10 more miles away.

It skips right over explaining how you actually open the sliding door; in the video it just magically opens. I had to go back into the office and wait in line to find out I have to step on the foot pedal at the same time as I pull the latch in order to release it. Otherwise, the move in was pretty smooth.

Manager seemed to just tell staff answers and not want to talk on phone. Other than that clean storage and no issues with the unit. It might be helpful to have donation places on file for when people decide to move out of their storage... Habitat for humanity is one that will pick up at a storage place.

I ended up buying two locks because I was unaware I would need a lock for the storage unit. So when i bought a lock to lock the truck overnight, I bought the non circular type. Some communication or suggestions during the rental process about which lock to pick would be helpful in the future.
