Being from out of state, I needed to rent a truck to move some belongings from my brother's estate after his recent passing. Rod and Colleen were wonderful. they explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood the terms of the agreement so that I could avoid additional charges if not necessary. Full disclosure, which I appreciate immensely in today's environment. I would highly recommend renting from this location and will again if needed.

On the following day, Tuesday I went back to the U-Haul office and was helped by Rod and he aldo took great care of me and again I felt like more than a customer. I do not know the name of the woman that also helped with the admin side. She was very pleasant andc knowledgeable. I want to thank the whole team for taking such good care of me. I also lost my lock key on the first day. But this wasn't a problem. Rob was more than willing to cut the lock off and help me out with a new one.

Todd PI was very frustrated with the online platform. I am a young adult and consider most online things to come easy however this process was ridiculous. It took us 30 minutes and that is after begging for assistance from the workers. They instructed us that they are not supposed to assist however they felt bad and saw how long this was taking. I will never do the online pick up method again, and only deal with in person pick up. Thank goodness for the workers there.

John WI ranted a truck around 12 pm on Sunday by walkin in person, for 1 day rent flat fee + miles, , I filed up a page of paperwork that was asking me about my personal information , and the employee made a copy of my driver’s license. . No paperwork was given back to me, just the key for the truck, and also I have been told that I can drop the key in windows opening designed for that purpose if office is closed. The truck was returned the same day at 5:30, I need it for only 5 hours, but I rented it for a day, the office was closed and I dropped the keys in the window opening as I was told. Two days later I noticed a change of $110 + , which seems ridiculously high, since the truck was returned the same day 5:30 pm ( I paid flat fee for a day rental)the key was dropped in the window opening, for which the employee apparently failed to tell me that there is $23 charge to return the key that way,. I questioned the charges , and the office female employee and the manager became defensive, they were trying to explain me that I am getting penalized for returning the truck after hours, and that the rental was for only 5 or 6 hours…. , and all of this is in a paperwork that I never received. I don’t understand why this office is trying to rips off the clients. …. Please avoid entering this location. My experience was not very poor. I am planning to escalate this complain.

gale w | Overall ExperienceThe mobile check in is terrible. Mobile check-in should make life easier and quicker and faster but it did exactly the opposite. I had to take my picture three times, I had to upload and validate my license at least two times. The process for mobile check is onerous, time consuming and ridiculous. It’s much easier just check in with the people on the desk. I will never do that again.

THOMAS AYoung man that was at the counter, did not seem to be very knowledgeable about the facility, or the business. When I got to my new storage, there’s a lock on there, and I went to talk to him about it, and he had no clue as to where to get the key to let me in my new storage. My Movers and I stood around for quite a while, the owner came by and was able to take the lock off so we could put my stuff in storage. It was a very frustrating situation because it was getting hot and no offense, but I was paying my movers by the hour other than that, I’m totally satisfied with the storage unit all my stuff seem to fit have a few things that I’ll be bringing over in the next week or so to put in. It’s all good and I thank you for your assistance.

Tod KThe customer service, communication, and respect from employees was excellent. However, I chose not to move into my assigned unit. Upon my arrival to climate controlled unit, I noticed it was 105 degrees inside. 105 degrees was not what I expected for a climate controlled area. After noticing the high temperature, I also checked the building next door which was at 100 degrees. I never moved into the unit and asked that my account be refunded and closed. I was refunded the $10.95 for insurance. The first month was free so I wasn’t charged for the first month. The next day I noticed I was still assigned to the unit and was set up to be charged $180 at the end of the month. I called U-Haul costumer service and was told that I needed to contact the facility in-order to have them close the account. I never officially moved into the unit. I called and was told that it was okay, and not to worry about it since it was a free first month. I would be moved out of the system at the end of the month. That comment just raised some questions on ethics in the facility. After standing my ground and being persistent, I was then officially “moved out” of the system. I would not recommend this location.

She informed me when i open my gate I would also experience the alarm for a min or so this triggered my anxiety, there are many factors why i changed my mind The location is a bit farther than expected will not work with what im needing to do, the alarm triggers my anxiety, this unit simply will not work for me. I returned the next day to speak with a manager and no success, i do not need or want that unit anymore and feel that i have that right to change my mind and receive a refund i was open to a penalty charge as well. I am taking this further with corporate and reviews online for the simple reason of not being able to cancel was absurd to me.

I had the first month covered at no cost because of the U-Haul commitment as I did a cross country move. That was great. The only rub was I had my storage unit used for about 9 days into the second month and it could not be prorated. Being charged for the whole month when it was only used for less than two weeks seemed a bit far out. I was told there was no way this could be done....thanks.

After their purchase, U-Haul over several years upgraded the lighting, the ventilation and the parking areas. They did not raise rates without notice and then offered options The areas were well lit and security visible. We found the staff agreeable and always open to suggestions and comments. The facility was clean and had moving and storage items available for rent or purchase if needed. This is one of the better storage centers in this part of town and I strongly recommend them.

The reason I would not recommend this facility is the fact that there are no elevators for 2nd floor units. Unless people are storing bags of cloths or pillows, the 2nd floor units are a real pain. Attempting to haul any piece of furniture up the flight of stairs is a major ordeal. Offering a cart at the top of the landing is nice but if you can't get the item to the top of the steps, the cart is pointless. How about offering a free appliance dolly for use getting bigger items up the stairs?

However my trailer was a full 8' wide and 33' long. I was really disappointed when I came to pull my trailer out when I found it had been broken into and my $1000 wight distributing hitch had been stolen, as well as a large mat, plastic and wooden blocking peices, and a sewage drainage line. The strange thing is the thieves didn't take all of the peices of the weight distributing hitch. So, they were very likely amateures taking advantage of a lapse of security. The lapse of security I was informed when I checked out was that the security gate had been giving problems. My concern is why wasn't more security put in place when the problem with the gate was discovered and occurring. ???? VERY disappointing.
