Irma MI rented a storage unit at this location, 2801 S 8th St. Rogers, AR. I advised them on February 28, 2024, I would be moving out of the storage unit on March 2, 2024. I was told I would have to pay for the entire month of March regardless of when I moved out. I was told U-Haul doesn't pro-rate their charges. As I advised U-Haul, I moved everything out on March 2nd. After loading everything up, I went to the front desk and asked if there was anything I needed to sign or do before I leave the facility. The two male employees said, "No, there's nothing more you need to do." Today, March 30, 2024, I was charged for storage that I notified them on February 28th that I was moving out on March 2nd. I have been calling the U-Haul store since 10:47am, no response from the business. I keep getting sent to customer service. Each person I have spoken with sends the store a message and calls them, no response. It is almost 2pm while I'm writing this review. This is a complete lack of professionalism and poor customer service. There is no reasonable excuse for not returning a customer's call in a reasonable time frame. I was never late on the monthly charge, but they can't respond and refund me the amount taken out of my checking account today. The last customer service person I spoke with told me my account has never been closed out. There is no attention to detail at this U-Haul business. This business has no concern for their customers.

CLIFFORD DRenting the truck and drop off became a nightmare. Pick up they couldn’t find me even though I reserved before hand. Then, later that day I got rerouted to drop off an hour away from the original drop off location. I called 3xs and talked to customer service and the transportation dept. I had to delay all storage and drop off times I had originally planned for (having 3 kids in care seats) I had to pay a babysitter for this 12 hour move to get there and 12 hours back. Very disappointed in the rental uhaul services and will not be using them in the future. The storage was the easiest part of the process.

Luke HThe alarm for the storage facility goes off all the time and when your unit is on the 3rd floor it is pretty loud and annoying. I don't recommend. If they don't figure out how to have a safe location without alarm constantly going off I will find somewhere else to store my stuff.

Justin wMy experience was mixed with regard to the staff. On arriving to pick up my rental the one person in the customer area was busy picking items from a list for another customer. There was no problem with that in my mind. However, this staff person totally ignored me, did not make eye contact, did not speak to me, did not acknowledge my presence in any way. This was very nearly cause for me to walk out. When, finally the rep was ready to help me their speech was barely audible. It was a very dissatisfying experience. On returning the equipment the rep was a different person, who was helpful, personable and quick to respond to my presence and made check-in a breeze. So, two very different people making for two very different experiences. Hmmm.

Eric DI rented 2 trailers and was told via phone call from uhaul the day before pickup, that both trailers with dolly and blankets would be available. Early next morning when got to this location, there was a line of people at 7:30 am and only 1 uhaul person. after 30 minutes waiting was told they only had 1 trailer, no dolly and and only a portion of the blankets. uhaul person was not considerate, and in sour mood. He said he could care less that reserved equipment was not where it was suppose to be. Real poor customer service. He said other trailer and maybe the dolly and blankets would be at another location on Airport Road in Bentonville. Took an additional 30 minutes of driving to 2nd location on airport road, trailer was ready along with dolly and rest of blankets. and uhaul person was helpful at 2nd locatiion.

Michael LGas was checked out to me marked at 3/8 of a tank when it was actually at 1/8 tank. I returned at 1/4 of a tank, showed an employee the picture I took of the tank at 1/8 shortly after leaving. I was assured that the fuel level would be changed so I wasn’t charged extra for fuel. Upon receiving my e-mailed receipt, I noticed I was charged for an additional 4 gallons of fuel. Would strongly caution anyone looking to rent from this site.
Alan PTanner is an exceptional professional. This is the second time I've used his location. He us exactly the type employee you want as a manager. As an ex-Professor at the University of Arkansas Business School. I can easily say Tanner should be promoted as soon as possible. If not I'm sure another Corporation will see his potential. I do not give out praise often. He is truly a superior Manger.

Eyal GI dropped off the trailer on Friday and truck on Saturday and was charged $80 for late fee on truck. Dropped off with Craig. The truck according to your software said it had 3/8 and I returned with a 1/4 tank and you clowns charged me a late fee. I imagine a large part of ruhaul revenue comes from circumstances like this. I had to stop on several occasions and the car dolly kept coming loose. I've used uhaul for all my moves for years and wont again. These are very shady business practices!!

The prices keep going up and nothing changes, that says greed!!! I found other people's trash in my units, top of walls is open space, and mice in 3 of 5 units. Elevator went out for 4 months and no refund for not being able to put stuff in or take thing out. Not worth the money to store here!!!

This was ABSOLUTELY not worth the price and they make it as difficult as possible to actually store your things, especially furniture. 10/10 would not recommend it to anyone. The only positive is that the facility is clean and well-lit.

Tanner and Robert and all the back of house staff saved our sanity if not our lives. They really take the edge off of one of the most difficult things in life. Keep in mind their transactions are time consuming so be patient but know it’s going to be a million times better with Uhaul’s 8th Street Rogers help!

They also didn't explain that i needed to sign into two different key pads in order to get into the facility. The next day I was given a different unit and when I went to that one there was so much trashed out furniture etc in front of it. So went back to front desk and was given another one and that one was not swept out but was decent. Tamara was very helpful and remedied the situation with discounts.

Upon arriving at my unit later the same day I rented it there was a lock on it and I was unable to get into my unit. I called the after hours number numerous times but nobody answered or even returned my call. Another couple showed up to get in their unit and was not told about entering their password into 2 machines either so I I formed them and they finally got into the building. I had to find another facility to put to rent because of the very poor service. I WILL BE GETTING MY MONEY BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! I WILL GIVE POOR RATINGS ON GOOGLE AND WILL CONTACT THE BBB IF I HAVE ISSUES WITH MY REFUND.

Only after we loaded the contents partially into the measly10-10-6 did we realize that the counter person had no idea how much the truck could hold when she stated that it was large enough. We should have been provided the 10*10*10 arranged for or we should have been given 2 10*10*6 for the price of the 10*10*10. I am 6 foot 5 inches tall and I cannot count the times I bashed my head on the sprinkle in the middle of the unit. That alone would warrant a 10*10*10.

I am extremely concerned with my items being infested and trying to find out what I can do. This is very disturbing. The hallway to get to my unit was not wide enough to take my sofa down much less try to get into the unit because of this I had to rent another unit. Not a great experience.

James M | Online Move InThe staff was fantastic and tried their best. However, the design of the facility is awful and embarrassing. There is ONE elevator. There is ONE entrance. There is ONE set of stairs. For a facility that size there should be at least two of each at opposite sides and/or corners. Especially when, like me, a customer is on the top split level and the one elevator is BROKEN and won't be fixed until the following day. Considering I had rented the unit that day because I HAD to be moved THAT day, three flights of stairs with only a hand truck (which then had to be pushed literally to the opposite side of the stairs) is unbelievably stupid design. Luckily the staff understood the insanity of what my move had become and got creative with two units on the ground floor. They provided me the units for the same price as my initial top split level unit. If I had not been under such a tight time frame, I would have taken my business elsewhere immediately. And I probably will next time I'm in town.

Temperature control isn’t great as it was 90 degrees inside and the poster reads “Kept between 45 and 80!”, we have temperature sensitive electronics so this is an issue if not addressed. Tried to switch to a unit on a lower floor but got to the door and found it was locked and had a red tag stating the last person hadn’t paid. Was told we would be switched back to our original unit but when we came back with our stuff two days later and opened the original unit, the alarm was set off because they had never switched us back. Overall just very frustrated.

I literally couldn't get to the door to unload my truck when I informed an employee of this I was told to "just get in where I could." I got a refund and went to another storage facility. MORRIS H | Online Move InI want to preface my negative remarks by noting that the check-in process at the start of my unit rental was actually very pleasant, all things considered. I saw first-hand the kind of rude and nasty treatment that poor customers can fling at employees, and I commend Skyler for handling a situation with an irate and vulgar customer with professionalism. That said, my experience trying to end my rental suggests to me that this facility has major problems, and I worry that Skyler, as the facility's manager, bears the responsibility. On May 31st, I emptied my unit and prepared to close out my rental. The line at the facility was very long that day, so I initiated the checkout through the U-Haul website. Part of this process called for the uploading of several photos (showing the empty, clean unit, the unit's number, the unit's latch, and so on), but unfortunately the website only allowed me to upload a single image. I picked the best photo available and uploaded that. When I called U-Haul to follow-up, I received an automated message telling me that my wait time would be longer than 60 minutes. With that in mind, I decided to trust in the online check-out process and assumed that my rental would be closed out within a few days. Instead, I started receiving reminders that an upcoming payment would be due. Anytime I tried to call the Rogers facility directly, I was redirected to U-Haul's national number. (I was later told by customer service reps and managers at other U-Haul facilities that the Rogers facility was likely redirecting all calls so as not to have to field calls themselves.) As before, my wait time was always extremely long -- 30 minutes at a minimum, and in one case, more than 2 hours. Every time I spoke to a customer service rep, I was told that my request to close out would be emailed to Skyler. In one case, a rep tried to reach Skyler by cell phone but received a message stating that Skyler's voicemail inbox was full. I eventually began receiving notices that late fees had been applied to my account, even though I had submitted my close-out request weeks before the end of my last pay period. Again, when I tried to reach the Rogers facility directly, I was redirected to the national customer service number and asked to wait for long periods of time to speak to a real person. Eventually a customer service rep gave me Skyler's cell phone number, which he said I had the OK to call or text. I experienced the same "this voicemail inbox is full and not accepting messages" recording; when I tried the number later in the day, I was redirected to that message quickly, suggesting the person on the other end was actively and purposefully rejecting my call. No one responded to my texts. Eventually I was able to find a time to make the 35-minute drive up to Rogers and caught the facility at a slow period. There was no one working the customer service desk at 2:30 p.m. that day, but I decided to wait; eventually, a woman who was either physically impaired or under the influence of unknown substances asked me if she could help me, and was able to close out my account and waive all remaining fees. In the end, this facility let an empty unit remain unlocked for almost two weeks, because its management is no longer answering phone calls, checking voicemails or emails, or responding to customers. If Skyler Zaage is still working at this facility, she is seemingly no longer keeping up with things. It may be that she is overwhelmed--I'm sure that it's hard to find and keep a full staff these days--but it's affecting customers. I have no desire to rent a unit or a truck from this facility anytime soon, and I will actively steer family and friends away from going there.

So I had to reserve a different unit in Roger's, but still had to drive back to springdale to drop off the truck which put me over the milage. The woman on the phone was not very helpful and seemed very inconvenienced that I even called for help. Other than that everything else was fine.

James H | Overall ExperienceHi I have a couple of issues with the referenced storage contract. First: We arrived at the UHaul on 8th Street in Rogers, AR on May28. Our plan was to unload the furnishing from the UHaul truck that we had rented into the storage unit that we had reserved in Rogers. Upon arrival, we discovered that the elevator did not work. Our unit was on the 2nd floor. As you can imagine, the task of moving furnishings from the truck to storage was increased exponentially. When my wife and I – who are both in our mid sixties – originally decided to help our daughter, we knew it would be a hard job, but we felt sure we were up to it. Had we known we would be required to: Load carts, Move loaded carts inside, Unload carts, Carry items one-by-one up two flights of stairs, Load carts again, Move loaded carts to storage unit, Unload carts again – we no doubt would have found a storage facility with working elevators. I’m not one to ask for something like this but it would seem that some compensation is in order. As we will be moving the furnishings from storage to our daughter’s apartment, I respectfully and humbly request that you consider something in the way of moving labor. Second: Also upon arrival at the 8th Street UHaul storage, we asked if we could possibly get a larger unit. The lady at the desk (sorry, did not get her name) suggested that we get 2 units because she believed that the wider and less deep units that she suggested were easier to get things in and out of. That made sense to me but I specifically told her that I didn’t want to be charged for 2 units – otherwise I would just get one unit that equaled the size of the 2 units that she suggested. We would just deal with the more difficult access of the one unit. SHE ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD ONLY BE CHARGED AS IF IT WAS ONE UNIT. Now I see that I will be billed for 2 units. I would appreciate it if the agreement that was made would be honored. Thank you.

When I arrived at the location on Thursday morning, Skyler was dealing with an angry customer whose attitude and language became more and more disrespectful and inappropriate over the course of several minutes. When I attempted to intervene by asking the customer to adjust his tone, he began berating me with vulgarities and threats. Skyler maintained composure through all of this, eventually asking the customer to leave, which he did. I was impressed with Skyler's professionalism and level-headedness during this entire encounter.

Someone should also go around the parking lot to clean, very littered. Inside wasn't terrible but could use sweeping a bit more often.

The first 3 months i got charged late fees because whoever did the billing didn't know how to set up auto draft. Finally got that figured out. As I was cleaning out my storage building and terminating my contract staff was unwilling to listen. I told them I was moving out and the guy at the desk said clean out your room and we will come check you out. I cleaned out my room and called on the intercom, that guy asked me 3 times if I had cleaned out my room then said they didn't need to check me out and I had to go back up front. Train these people please!

Would be nice if what you were getting was made clear at the onset of the process, not when we checked in that day. We were also unaware (until check-in) that we would be having to go up to the second floor with all of our things. That wasn't fun. However, on your behalf, there were carts to use and the elevator was big enough for 4 carts at a time, so that was nice. In hind sight, we would have much preferred to know that we were getting a unit on the ground floor, or at least had the opportunity to request one. So while everyone was nice, the facilities were clean and well lit, the carts were provided...having direct access (without going through sliding glass doors and up/down elevators for every trip) would have made it much better for us.

We finally got moved in to a new house and got our storage unit cleared out, but there was a hiccup when I called to cancel our storage unit, and we were billed for another month, plus a late fee. I came in and talked to someone and the issue was cleared up immediately, and I didn’t have to pay anything extra. Working with U-Haul has been the easiest and most convenient part of my move across country. I wish everything could be this easy and convenient. Thank you!

We were not able to acomplish what we needed to do when we were putting things in the storage and then months later when were trying to move out we had issues with the elevator and no one was able to give us a time frame of when it was going to be fixed. We lost plenty of time getting things out through the stairs Instead. I won't use their services in the future because I dont really know what to expect.

Just not that great of an experience.
