Mike BThe trunk was dirty with confetti and a lot of dust. I took the broom myself and had to clean it up. For the first time I had no luck with the employee who was working today. He made a mistake when delivering the van, he made a mistake on my card and then when he realized that he had made a mistake with the vehicle, he immediately said that he didn't have van 10 because they were all reserved. As I noticed the way he was treating me, so in front of him I started the online reservation for the app where upon realizing he said that there had been a cancellation and started the documentation for the truck van 10 that I had requested from the beginning. Very rude without any professionalism and a person who doesn't wear the company's shirt. Without a doubt, it deserves to be analyzed as I left very disappointed with the terrible service I received today.

John Kthe agent at the desk had a horrible attitude. first he sad there are no trailers left, so we went to the Doheny branch. the nice agent at doheny said they don't have a trailer available and referred me back to san juan capistrano again. I told him "i am coming from there, they don't have any". hechecked and said they have a couple available and made a reservation for us. we went back, wasting almost an hour. same tall dark hair agent said we don't have any available again. I said we have a reservation, He said there is this guy that rent every day. I said does he have a reservation? he couldn't misinform us again and said "he must have cancel". then he reluctantly with a very rude attitude walked out and connect the trailer to our vehicle and left. This trailer was parked 3 inches front the trailer next to it and we could not get out. in any event, I am a businessman too and I know it is not right to treat cleant like this guy did.
HOMAYOUN DI would not recommend leaving the facility without reviewing charges. I left as I was told a receipt would be posted to my email account. It was posted and a fuel charge was added, I had put fuel back into the Cargo Van. After the event it is hard to argue the case!!!!

BRYAN WI have rented before it is has always been a bit rough around the edges. I picked up the truck and Esteban was my agent. He was not helpful in the least and I was, obviously, a distraction for him. I checked in and inquired about a larger truck which was available only 30 minutes before but E said that even if I had booked it online he would not have given it to me because he had people waiting. That was Okay as I had only inquired but I did find it a bit odd. He checked me in but seemed so distracted by his phone that I felt uncomfortable. I went out to the truck (without any assistance) only to find the truck totally out of gas. I had to go back inside and Esteban said "Sorry, none of the trucks have gas right now, when you come back just tell the agent". I explained that going asap to the gas station was not something I felt was reasonable could have cared less. I almost told him to take the truck and stick it up his ass, but truth be told we had a team planned and ready to go so i was stuck. I immediately went to the gas station and fueled up. We used the truck for several days but the AC did not work-it was broken and the drivers side door did not work so I got a error message every time I drove, which was very annoying. I went to drop off the truck today with Sean. I explained the issue and he was amazing. He took care of us (without me even asking) and understood our issue. Sean is the ONLY reason we will consider renting from this location again. Esteban desperately needs to be retrained or find another suitable job that has nothing to do with customer relations. I own a company Shower Toga and if one of my employees handled a transaction in this manner they would have been fired, not retrained, but fired. Sean is your only savings grace. If I rent again and walk in the door and Esteban is there I will cancel and leave. If Sean is there I will continue will my transaction knowing that someone within your establishment actually gives a dam.

Dorothy MWhen I first moved in I got a call stating that my unit was unlocked as was found by the cleaning person. I was told I needed to return to lock it. When I returned, it was locked and my suitcase had been stolen. When I tried to report it I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone, when I finally did a week later I was told "oh well, there's nothing we can do." The rudest people work at this location.

Andrew LAll worked very well for my cargo van reservation. I actually finished my work quicker than expected and returned it after only a few hours. .The van was clean with a rubber mat in the cargo area and I rented a bag of moving pads which protected some furniture well. It drove smoothly with excellent mirrors. At return an outside attendant did my checkin, my charges were reduced due to fewer miles than I had predicted, and I was quickly on my way home. It was a fine experience at San Juan Capistrano U Haul.

Garrett Llittle disappointed when i got my final bill and it was about double what i expected and i had put way more gas in it than I needed to. When i returned the truck the guy who i talked to was on a cell phone and never acknowledged me.

Jana hI used the app to complete check-out and it had a few issues, mostly due to network slowness/overload. When I completed the check-out process, the app told me to proceed inside and show the green icon on my screen to any U-Haul employee (and skip the line). The only person inside was competing a trailer rental for another customer. I showed him my screen as he was finishing the trailer rental, and I could see the truck key hanging on the wall directly behind him. Rather than simply handing me the keys and moving on, he said, "I'll be right back, I need to help this customer hook up his trailer." The employee then walked outside to hook up this other customer's trailer, and asked his coworker (who was already outside) to come back inside and hand me the keys to the truck. The other employee literally grabbed the keys off the wall, handed them to me, apologized, and said, "good luck with your move."

Roger JI made a reservation to pick up at Costa Mesa location and the the u-haul rep was distracted and input wrong information, that cause me to went back and move to pick up vehicle in San Juan trying to avoid SURPRISES at the time of pickup due to mistake. Anyhow I asked to cancel CM and move to SJC pick up . He never cancel the first reservation and I ending up paying lot of money driving more miles with total amount over 400 dollars plus gas for simple trip to Bakersfield with small 10 ft. Van . Really costly . Simply prohibited excessive expense that leave me out of money in my budget. . And the wrong experience due to one of the employees mistakes .
felipe gI had rented unit 1281 for many years and went in on Saturday 12/30/23 to try and add an 5x5 unit. The two people working had zero interest in helping. Showed me one unit on a map and did not offer to show it to me in the facility. Then they said it was reserved. I asked if any others might come available near the #1281 that I already had. They said they did not know. Zero effort. I went to another local facility and rented a larger unit and came back on 12/31/23 to move out of #1281. When moving out a lady with a smaller unit saw me moving and wanted to rent the #1281 that I was exiting. She wanted a rack that I had. We tried to sort that out with the worker there but he said he could not do that. I had to move out and then someone who was not there needed to inspect the unit and then she could rent it. I removed the rack and turned the unit over to your staff. Not sure if the lady was able to rent the unit. Really, really bad service. No effort to get up and sell the units so I took my business elsewhere. I really enjoyed the facility though but never the assistance from the staff.

The guarantee promised a $50 payment if the vehicle wasn't available at pick up and the associate that I dealt with refused when I asked for it. U-HAUL has been a nightmare during both move ins. I'd never recommend it.

I knew I would be there after 7 and tried to check in online several times but the link would not work. I spent most of the trip from Phoenix in the phone with uhaul and no body could help this. I was supposed to be given a code to get in but nobody called me. I brought the truck and trailer there the next day, my time to be checked in was 0800 but because I couldn’t get access the night before it took until 1000 to unload and I was charged for an extra day rental. Pretty mad about that. Anyway. The two people working in the office were really nice.

Your policies are inconsistent, and restrooms are disgusting. What a tremendous amount of money spent for such a crappy experience. Also, I fell out of the back of the UHaul at your facility, the handles are so thin it slipped through my hand, none of your employees could be bothered to check to see if I was hurt. And there were multiple employees around when it occurred. 0/10, would never recommend this location.

The gentleman at the call center was very helpful and turned this over to a general manager to handle by 7/19 or 7/20. The employees weren’t very helpful when my husband and son went to load stuff into storage one gentleman just sat in the middle it helping anyone and the staff member who helped them was in no hurry to help them. Both my husband son got very frustrated and even had to tell him so. I run a busy grocery store and customer service is what keeps are doors open and they lack all customer service support this is the place in San Juan Capistrano.

Unfortunately all that was available when I arrived was two units adjacent to each other equivalent to that size. Unfortunately, I had big furniture and it wouldn’t fit through the door. Subsequently I had to leave the furniture out. I checked with your office to see if there was another available unit but your staff said there were none. I had to move only due to the storage situation. I even asked to be wait listed but unfortunately u do t have that. I actually love your place. I am going to keep checking back as I think you are the best storage in town. Hours, staff, cleanliness, card system, location! No wonder you are full! This place is a 10! Sorry I had to leave but no where to put my furniture!

The entrance where you drive up is an exit to the property and marked as such. Had to find a park on the crowded street and walk into the store to get directions. Getting the size room I originally requested worked out, though I felt concern upon first arriving and finding that my reservation was not intact from the phone call and notes I had made for myself in booking the room.

It was my friends and you didn’t have any reason or approval from her to do that. $295. I was on the contract and it was my responsibility not hers in any way. She has defriended me and it’s all your fault for not crediting her card back and not coming to me for the additional charges. It wasn’t even 30 days that you charged her card. I was the lessee for the van not her. Ridiculous and I will never recommend UHaul to any of my friends. Plus your $19.99 a day rental. Is so far from that with all the other things that also expected to pay in advance.

I had one of your 20' trucks with a ramp. There was another uhaul truck with a trailer and a few more vehicles trying to unload. I eventually had to back in on a diagonal blocking handicapped space. It's a total clusterf*ck. Bright spot: new guy Josh. Still sort of training but great attitude. Willing to try anything to make it work for the customer. He'll probably lose that attitude as time goes by but he's awesome right now. I dread the day I try to get my stuff back out again.

I tried calling and it was faster to walk over to the counter. The contact button on the call box didn't contact me to anyone. It is a busy facility and other patrons aren't as mindful of parking so that others still have access (ergo, I showed up to unload my car only to see two trucks parked on diagonals and blocking the walkways with full carts - over and hour later and they were still there - I had to come back the next day). That all being said, it is clean, the moving carts are super helpful and feel new, and the location is convenient to my home and the freeway.

They didn’t have decency to show me exactly which truck was mine and I got in two wrong trucks and went back inside twice to clarify which truck is mine. I had a 3:30 pick up and they never even let me know the truck was running late. I even called and waited on hold for 20 mins since there is no direct line to the store and verified the truck would be ready. It was an hour late and they also tried saying my reservation isn’t supposed to be until 6 even after I verified with two staff my pick up time. Unacceptable. I will not use uhaul again.
