If I never have to go to that location again it will be too soon !! Very unhappy with the online return process in this situation. The cell coverage there is awful & the photos take forever to load making this a very time consuming process.

I returned the rental at 5:30pm and they closed at 4pm. It’s shameful to charge people after after return. That makes no sense.

Me and my fiancé had to walk around with the light from our phones on just to find the little office trailer at the back of the gravel lot just to find the box location.

SEBRIA WILLIAMSWhen I booked this U-Haul location for my move I was really excited because it was only 1.5 miles away from my apartment. I understand the first Saturday of the month is extremely busy, but the experience I had was less than smooth. First of all, the parking is notorious. I arrived at my appt time (9am) but there was no room for me to park, so I left so I could be dropped off. I arrived back at 9:15 and waited an hour before I spoke to an associate. The associates were very nice, but I do not think they have been given the correct equipment for this location. The associate tried to check me out a truck and then a person came in the office and said he had just rented the truck online. I do not think this would have happened if the office had the appropriate internet connection. I was almost in tears at this point. The associates were very professional and calmed me down. It was frustrating because I made my reservation a week before and a day and a person who had not been standing in line with me for an hour was able to rent a truck immediately. I understand this location is in temporary but the processes need to be looked at for peak times. The truck was very clean though and I had no problems with it. I just do not know if I will be recommending this location to anyone else until it moved to the renovated location
Anna CathellFor what it is worth, this is not the location I was set to come to. So in my opinion they handled every new customer as best they could given the situation. They had people coming in from different locations that they were not even aware of while still trying to manage people who were already there and people who were commanding uhauls from their lot online. This was a hard situation for them to be in. It is business, but please get them some better systems and wifi. I think that both people in the office managed it well and so did the young men cleaning the trucks. It just could have overall been a better situation. That's not solely on them but on uhaul.
Kashonda GeigerI arrived within 20 minutes of my pickup start time and the store clerk informed me that my rental truck had been given to another customer due to their double booking policy. The clerk stated that rentals are cancelled after 10 minutes of the pickup time if the customer has not arrived. This critical information was never communicated in my rental order confirmation email, nor did i receive a follow-up phone call, text or email informing me that my rental had been cancelled and given to another customer shortly after my pickup time. To make matters worse, there were no available backup rentals at that location, so the store manager reserved a rental truck and appliance dolly for me at a different location 15 minutes away. When I arrived at the next location, the truck that was booked by the previous store manager, as well as the dolly, were not available. Despite being the only customer in the office, it took nearly 40 minutes from the time i began speaking with the clerk at the second location before I was finally given keys to a different truck and was also now without a much needed dolly. The clerk stated that my rental truck had a full tank of gas and explained the policy of returning the truck with an equivalent amount of gas. The cabin of my rental truck had an uncomfortably overwhelming smell of cigarettes, and upon turning the ignition I found the gas tank nearly empty with the low fuel light indicator illuminated, contrary to the clerk stating it had a full tank of gas. The experience of a cancelled first appointment without notification, a 40 minute check-out process at the second location, and the additional time required to put gas in an empty rental truck created a 1.5 hour delay. If I am ever in need of a rental truck in the future, U-haul will certainly be my last resort option.
palmer hitchensHorrible experience. Had reserved for a different location (and received confirmation) and day before, UHaul moved my location. Showed up at 9 AM (office opened at 9) for 9 AM reservation and had to wait OVER ONE HOUR to even talk with agent. Agent lacked professionalism. Then the first truck assigned had a horrible odor so had to get a different one. Also, I had reserved Moving Blankets but none were available (and I was still charged for them). Will never use UHaul again.
Shannon McfaydenA charge for not folding blankets was not communicated with me upon renting and was unaware. This should be notified for everyone. And they said there’s a sign INSIDE the truck? This type of charge needs to be alerted up front. Unacceptable. Even 1 blanket would be charged 25$. Stupid.

We came with a self-checkin option and it still took us 30 minutes, because it turns out all of the equipment we paid for was missing from the truck, so we had to go up to the front and wait for them to get us the equipment. And secondly, the gas tank on the truck was empty! The dispatch form said that it was dispatched with a quarter tank, so clearly staffed didn't gas up the truck (to at least 1/4 tank) like they were supposed to. And they're trying to charge us for the extra quarter tank.

Also, the truck given to me was parked behind another truck, they couldn’t locate the keys to move the truck out the way. Lastly, this was my first time ever to go outside and locate the truck instead of an employee bringing it to me! Overall, very unprofessional employees .
Radi AlsaudiI received 3 different trucks, the 1st didn’t start - no fuel cap, the 2nd had a transmission issue and would not go over 20 miles , So Ziggy returned immediately and the 3rd truck that I finally just said “ Foget it, I’m not going back for a 4th truck” had a serious alignment issue, thank God I only had to do 10 miles or I would have had an accident… Also customer service was poor, so called gentleman had me go on that gravel pit lot and look for my truck all 3 times and never gave me any assistance placing the utility dolly on the truck… I’m 57 with cancer, that’s all I’m saying….. this by far was my worst experience ever, I was very disappointed!!!!

Alverta RobinsonI had a negative experience due to misunderstanding between the call center and the GM I had received a call from your 800 number asking me to come in and pick up my truck a day early due to the expected volume on Saturday. it was my first time ever receiving such a call, but I obliged. The gentleman who called me on Thursday from your call center stated that I would have 60 additional free miles no fee for the drop off etc.. Unfortunately, according to the manager, there were no notes on the account and she wouldn’t take the time to listen to what I’ve been told. in the end we were able to work through the matter after I call the 800 number and spoke with another agent who updated my record. The truck that I received also had a bad starter, which made me late and a very frustrating move.

We ended up getting the 15 ft truck and it was perfect. Her staff was friendly and Michael had us in and out, even with 2 people ahead of me. Great customer service!!

The location is in a lot with all kinds of rocks and the office is a trailer so i mean it speaks for itself. The man who assisted me the day of was very respectful and helpful though shoutout to him!

Thomas DrungellReps on site provided zero service. I checked in via the app and when I went to get the keys for my 25 hr rental they said they only rent vans for 4-6 hrs. Then when I said but I’ve already paid and checked in via the app, they said okay well just leave it I guess. Customer service was hands down the worst I’ve had in years. The site itself had no clear indication where the “office” was to even grab the keys. Great location from an accessibility standpoint but awful customer experience.

Was told by the manager that I was lying and would not be compensated for the additional charges for delaying my move. Truck also had old McDonald’s trash in it. Would not recommend at all.

Luke DavisThis location was an hour away from where I moved. When I asked to drop the truck at a Uhaul location 1 mile from where I moved I was told I would be charged double. Seriously not cool. Dalton Ave location was a huge gravel lot with no instructions on where to park the truck and no drop box for the keys. Just some writing with an arrow that said key drop on a trailer window with a ripped screen but no actual place to put keys.

MARK TREXLERThe process was fast and the vehicles were in good condition. I was disappointed that nobody reminded me about the gas, so I was surprised to see a $40 fee because I was a couple gallons light when nobody reminded me when I rented it to fill it up before I returned it.

Jenn McDanielI have been a loyal member for over two years with unit 813, and I never received any written notice that the facility was going to be demolished. I called about an inquiry for my bill, and then after dozens of attempts to reach out to them and never got a response, I then find out that I had two weeks to clear my unit. I no longer live in Charlotte so I had to spend over $600 to book a flight and a U-Haul to get all of my belongings when all of this could’ve been avoided if I had more of a notice. I will never use U-Haul again after this experience.

I submitted my move out request online which I have confirmation of. On site during my move out I explained I was moving out, met with the on-site manager, and even had the movers be introduced. I am unsure what more I needed to do and if there was a missing piece it should have been comminuted by a manager. I do have an email that management switched over which caused the issues but that should not be my issue. You are charging me for a fully vacant unit which is completely unfair and could have been easily mitigated.
