I did look online but when I got there, that size was gone, so I had to purchase a digger space for my RV. They are understand the man they help me in the office out in the yard. I just happened to find them in the office so I would recommend hiring more people.

Gabriella CIt took 1 hour to rent truck even though I had pre-reserved the day before giving all the information and payment over the phone. I waited about 5 minutes for the employee to open the gate from inside to allow us to get the truck. After I had the truck I was beeping the horn at least 10 minutes for him to open it. My wife that was waiting in the parking lot had to go in the building to ask them to open the gate. The employee was messing around with his phone with his back to the cameras at the gate. He acted like he totally forgot someone was back there. When we dropped off the truck they were closed 2 1/2 hours early.

larry vThey almost didn't rent me the trailer I booked because their stupid FOB said my lights were not working on my truck. I told them there was nothing wrong with my truck. They got another FOB and again tried to say it was my truck and that they wouldn't be able to rent me the trailer until I got my truck fixed. I finally was able to convince them to hook the trailer up. Guess what, it worked with no issues. Their stupid light tester FOB does not work on 2021 Sierra Denali. The process to rent the trailer is a bit ridiculous. They asked for ID (which is fine). When they handed my driver's license back they said I was going to receive a text from uhaul. It wanted me to take a selfie and a picture of my license. Why would I need to do this if they just verified my ID? Then I had to give them an emergency contact. I gave them my wife's name and number. They then needed to call her (she was waiting in the truck) to see if it was ok that I used her as an emergency contact. WTF?

michael gI had to wait forever to get checked in. Only to finally be checked in by a lady with a poor attitude who kept informing me that she was “not supposed to be working yet”. When I finally got to my truck it looked terrible. The breaks barely worked, the drivers seat was falling apart and in continuously and constantly dripped water from the door seal which was landing directly on my leg. Not being able to do anything about it , because I needed to drive safely, I arrived at my location with my pants soaked due to the drip. I will not be using U-Haul in the future.
Robert MI arrived 30 minutes early to pick up a 15 foot truck, only to see a note on the front door that they were in the back shoveling snow and to come them. Once they arrived back at the office they began to get me checked out. The girl at the counter was friendly but the manager came up to the counter and was rude and very short with both myself and her employee, finally got the key and went out to the parking lot to get the truck and it was not cleaned off, it was backed up to a very large snow bank so I couldn't walk around to check anything. Once I moved the truck away from the snow bank I was barely able to get it out of the parking space due to the snow, then I looked into the back of the truck and it was filthy and wet and not to mention the heat only work on halfway.

Overly intrusive process to approve the rental of a $100 asset. It’s clear U-Haul needs new leadership. Worst experience with a company in years.

DAVID RI have rented equipment from your company many times,I have never been more upset of the way I was treated by the lady behind the desk.l never had to do the check in on my phone by myself, all she could say is I can’t help you with the phone you have to do it yourself ,even at the end when I had to take pictures of the trailer to compare it to what I was renting the license plate did not match what was on the picture ,her comments was she didn’t know what to do said to type And again said the one thing I heard at least 10 time I CANNOT Help You With That . Never should a employee say to a customer I can’t help you with something but I heard it over 10 times, in the future will consider to rent from U haul I had a rental setup for next weekend but told the lady in that the way I was treated to cancel the trailer , I Will Never Go to the Romeo store for anything ever . I know nothing will ever come out of this.you have a big problem if this is how all your stores make your customers check in themselves on their own phone as your employees stands on the other side of counter saying I can’t help you with that

CODY RI rented a truck to move from storage to my new home (from U-Haul direct, not the facility). When they called to verify they said I will have to get the truck from a different location than where my storage unit is, but that’s not what it said when I made the reservation online through the app And then when I got the truck it had a little over a quarter tank. When I was done I put gas in it and took a picture, and dropped it off at the Wixom location which was closed. They said it was just under a quarter tank when I dropped it off and they charged me $60. I called and was told that it was just under a quarter tank and they couldn’t do anything. Even if that was accurate, $60 for 2/16 of a tank? The location on 31 mile rd in Romeo was very nice, but I won’t be renting from U-Haul again.

KATHY T | Overall ExperienceTo begin with, the person at the desk questioned us why we are using their Uhaul instead of the one 20 min away. Why does this matter? Then she needed 3 phone numbers of people who would pick up the phone (and she made sure by calling each one). Our Uhaul had a myriad of dents, scrapes, and scratches on it (it did have 170,000 miles on it) and Uhaul told us we had to document this with words and pictures before we could leave. Only a few of these dents were already acknowledged by Xs on the Uhaul and so we had to do Uhauls work for them and describe each dent and ding so they didn't charge us for something we didn't do. This took 35 minutes!!! The Uhaul felt like it was going to break down at any time. This whole experience made me never want to use Uhaul again.

Salah KYour process for renting a vehicle is not customer friendly at all. The check out process which involves the customer basically having to document the condition of the vehicle from physical damage to cleanliness prior to driving away takes way to long. I was made to think I would be responsible for anything wrong with the vehicle that was not noted. When I asked for the uhaul rep to go out and walk around the vehicle with me I was told it was up to me to do this. The young lady that checked me out for the rental van definitely needs to have someone work with her on her people skills. I choose Uhaul because I’ve rented vehicles before, never had any issues like I experienced yesterday. If this is a corporate direction I would recommend reviewing the whole process moving forward.
alan kThe girl working the desk was nice, but the rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures she needs to follow to the T are mind blowing and baffling. The local management imposing the strictest of ridiculous policies will drive away business when followed by their employees. We had a 1300 appointment. We were probably 10-15 minutes late, and by the time she made us read every policy, go through two safety briefings, two light checks, called my emergency point of contact to verify that my wife was my EPOC, we couldn’t leave the premises until 1415. We lost a whole hour of our rental which she said she could not change, due to the stupid local policies. I would never recommend this uhaul location to anyone other that my worst enemy. Luckily I have one that lives near this location, so I will send him over. I’ve never been so upset over what should have been a simple 10 -15 minute transaction. I do not blame the counter worker. She seemed like she was afraid to lose her job if she did not do exactly as she was taught. It was insane.

KIMBERLY AAWFUL! Had an RV stored for 8 years, used Uhaul to store our home when we moved. Picked up RV and the Catylitic converter was stolen, the house manager (Stephanie) was less than helpful, had to contact corporate. A month later we emptied our 3 storage units and one of them were leaking and ruined several boxes of antique games and important personal items that were stored off of the ground. Again, Stephanie was oblivious to our property damage and not willing to correct the problem. I would NEVER use this place again. Save yourself the hassle with this place.

Andrew D | Online Move InUpon return, attendant asked for me to back the trailer into a spot close to the office. In front of me was a gate (leading to the spot where I picked it up and expected to leave it), and in front of the park I f spots were rental trucks. It was an extremely difficult spot to back the trailer into, and I am reasonably proficient at backing a trailer. Otherwise, the trailer was in reasonable shape. The connector was spliced with three wire nuts, but functioned for my trip.
Nestor DGive better instructions. I was told there would be a gate code in the app and there wasn’t. I had to wait and walk through checkout with uhaul to notate the return because it didn’t provide a code. I was given the wrong location to pick up my trailer and had to go back to the office to ask where it was. Not a good experience at all.
Michele KU-haul is a difficult company to do business with. Originally I had purchased a camper that was stored at the facility. I wanted to just take over the storage agreement as I was in Texas and the camper was in Michigan. The staff informed me the only way I could do that would be for both parties to come in person and show IDs. Something that was not possible since I was in Texas. They had no problem signing me up for a NEW site, but I had to move the camper, again something I couldn't do from 1,300 miles away. I had to arrange with the seller to go and move the camper that he had already sold. Then when I needed to gain access for a shipping company to come move the camper, the staff would/could not give me the access code and directed me to the app. After countless hours trying to figure that out, I tried the website on my computer where I realized I had to 'associate' my rental agreement with my account even though the login was under the same email where they send my invoices every month. Also several times I tried to call the local office (during business hours) I wound up getting the central call center people who are basically useless for this type of scenario. Then when I tried to cancel, I had to upload photos of my 'cleaned out storage unit' - kind of impossible because I was never at the site and I didn't have a storage unit at all. I finally figured out how to cancel the contract. You have way too many arbitrary rules that don't make sense and cause unneeded frustration for you customers. Make it easy to do business with your company, not difficult. Based on my experience, I would never do business with this facility/corperation again.

Brenda GThis was not my first experience at this location. The young girl told me I had to do a walk around so I did I looked at the Van. It was so dirty that I couldn’t see if there was any thing wrong with a Van The young girl at the counter told me to go punch in the numbers to get my key on the box outside. I didn’t know what she was talking about. So she came outside and showed me I said honey that is not punching in the numbers that is a a Tumblr, which you have to turn in each one to get the number to get your key out just She was very helpful at that point, so I got the key went and started the van and took off. It was on empty beeping. It was so on empty. She said this should’ve been reported when I did the walk around. Not only did I have to take the van to the car wash but I also put $20 worth of gas in it I return the van lot sooner than I thought instead of dropping it through the door because they were still open I went in and I placed the key on the desk. She said there was a sign on there where she was at. I called out numerous times nobody answered. I wasn’t going to throw the key through the door and walk away so I just left the key on the counter. She called me a little while later and asked me if that was my key and I said yes she said, didn’t you see the note on my desk I said no My experiences time was not as pleasant as in the past, the other girl sitting at the desk when I told her that I couldn’t find the box. I didn’t know what she was talking about, rolled her eyes, and was very unprofessional. I’m sorry to have to report all this, but this was the first time that I had to go take the van, get it put gas in it and wash it because it was so dirty The two ladies at the desk need to get up, and sometimes hand feed the customer the information by taking them outside and showing them
Francine SCargo van was given to me with near empty tank. Low fuel indicator came on shortly after driving a few miles. Before leaving the store I alerted the employee the contract was marked with having 3/4 tank but was near empty. She didn't consider the starting mileage would also be incorrect and to check it. This place passes the responsibility of checking the starting mileage onto the customer. I didn't check the starting mileage as it wasn't written in the contract, so they forced me to pay for 50 miles I didn't use because they took the word of the previous customer regarding the ending mileage, which that customer apparently didn't provide accurately. I suggest they confirm the starting/ending mileage and make sure it is accurate before giving to the customer and not provide a vehicle with a near empty tank.

Theresa TStephanie was horrible. Her customer service was fake and passive aggressive. She gave me attitude when I asked a question based off of false information she gave me because she didn't take the time look at my account before answering the question. I had asked if there were any specials. She said you get a free lock with your rental. I had already purchased a lock online and asked her if I get a refund for that one. She said, "how did you buy a lock online if you did the rental process online?" In her sparky way and before i could answer, she changed the subject and continued what she was doing. I made her answer me again about the refund and she said i had to call a number that she never gave to me. I tried to clarify, so i have to call a number for a refund just to being the lock back in store. Still am not sure on that one since she kept changing the subject. Then at some point told me that I don't get the free lock because I reserved instead of rented. When I asked questions, she answered them yes or no. For example, I asked if both my fiance and I could access the facility since he was also added to the account. She said no and went as far as to explain, you only get one access card. Once I went to check my unit that had a lock already on it because it was not available, I asked her again because I saw there was an option for an access code. She still told me the same answer until I pressed it and then she told me that I could pay a 1 time fee of $5 to get rid of the card and have an access code. I told her to her face, that's something you tell customers when we ask that specific question in the first place. That was not the only example of how she handled us. The I saw she was a store manager and had been there for 10 years. Not sure how she made it that far. I came to this place because it's close to home but I will be searching for a place further away just because of this girl. I've never dealt with someone so lazy at their job and I go to taco bell probably 5 times a week (exaggeration) and deal with teenagers. I was so dumb founded by the way she spoke to me and would shut me down in her passive aggressive way, I just stared at her until it registered and then would make her come back to my initial concern. Also, once we were assigned a new unit, there was a brand new lock, in fact in the unit.

Decided to move, go to same place for a unit, says to do online, that process could be a bit more clear, apparently I “reserved “ the unit rather that “booked “ it and when I went to get the lock, she said the unit was gone. Had to reapply for different unit and got a smaller one that I wanted. Ended up booking 2 more units, having to call your 1-800 # each time to verify the reservation went through, because the online process wasn’t clear and because I was unable to reach the person in the office at my location to verify. Lastly, I’m renting 4 units/spots totaling about $700. Per month to store my stuff, that’s a lot of money each month and there is no option for a multi unit discount. Customer satisfaction over gouging profits would be a better business motto. I will seek out other storage facilities in the future.

Donald P | First ImpressionsGive instructions that don't set you up for failure. Was charged for parking incorrectly, however the gate was closed at drop off time and had no where else to park it. I asked the "owner" for the code when i got the truck, she said it will be open. I got there and was stuck for so long that i was approached by a mob of people who were making accusations about me that had nothing to do with me. I was put in danger because of the misinformation. I could have been shot for the accusations, luckily i had enough evidence in my phone, which they snatched from me and went through and also checked my whole uhaul, took my car keys checked my car, followed me back home, then to work today.

Michael CYour trailer rental process is way too involved. Example 1) When I call, sometimes I get corporate and sometimes I get the location I’m attempting to rent from… that interaction is lengthy, usually requesting a credit card and looking up all of my information and setting up the rental. 2) I get an email and have to enter all kinds of information including taking pictures of the front and back of my drivers license. 3) I get to the location. They asked me for my credit card for a second time and asked me way too many questions. They check my vehicle lights before I attach the trailer and a second time after the trailer is attached. When I return the trailer they have me sign paperwork, check the trailer and aske me a bunch more questions. Way Way too much.

When I was told it was Stephanie just threatening to destroy my credit..she is less than pleasant I should take you to court just to change your ridiculous online sign up policy.. my ID and a selfie....not impossible. Seems anyone could get screwed here.. regardless I fixed my end but Stephanie was so bad ill never give e you my business again

Jacob GTruck pickup and drop off was slow and cumbersome, app would t work so I had to check in with a clerk. Truck was beat up, brakes weren’t to satisfaction for such a large truck. Pulled truck to left (hard) when stopping, washer solvent wouldn’t work, had to drive through dirty windshield, could not clean, alignment was bad, truck pulled to right, headliner falling down in cab, so many squeaks and rattles in cab I couldn’t have a conversation. No way you could drive this truck across the country.

Roy RTruck that I rented had a very hard pull to the right every time that you hit the brakes. In addition, even though I indicated during my reservation (several times) that I did not need a hand truck or moving blankets, there was one in the truck. It had green ties to the side and if I broke them I would be charged. They made it difficult to load longer stuff on that side and took up real estate that I could have used to pack more stuff. If I indicated I did not want these items, then they should not be in the truck. It just seems like an upsell gimmick.

Not only that but they keep raising the rates every year. I am paying $15 more per month now, then I was three years ago. Nothing has changed in the facility to warrant the $15 increase per month. I moved out!

Website states the storage unit will maintain 65-85 degrees all year, while moving in to Unit A14, we have noticed it is very cold inside and our belongings are not being kept warm. This needs to be be corrected ASAP to ensure our belongings such as TVs and electronics are kept in proper condition. Thanks.

We then found out it was not covered as we were promised. I went back to the office and she was rude. She said there was nothing she could do and I could not make a complaint. She said she could make a compliant, but all will happen is “they” will review my phone call and discuss is with the person who gave me incorrect information. She could’ve cared less about my problem. I told her I gave a spot at another location for $55 per month because I was told this space was covered, so I was willing to pay the extra $30 per month. She told me I could either cancel the contract or take the spot, that the only options I had. I had no choice at this point to take the spot because we’d already lost our other spot. I am very disappointed. We’ve always used U-Haul in the past and never had a bad experience like this. I will not use Uhaul again, and I plan on looking for another spot somewhere else.
