here are my issues: 1.) when renting on the website, there were things I declined and they showed up in my checkout. If i didn't catch them, i would have been charged 2.) i did request an appliance dolly. when i picked up the equipment, there was no appliance dolly available. I was told they are on a first come first serve basis. 3.) we picked the truck up in the morning. Loaded it and tried to depart in the afternoon. When we tried to leave, the battery on the truck was dead. I jumped the truck and saw that the cab light was on. Clearly, the light was on when we picked up the truck and we didn't notice it since it was daylight. 4.) my wife picked up the truck for me. When I started driving, I immediately could tell that the truck had a bad tirod end or steering gear. It was a nightmare to drive.This was not the only mechanical problem. After making a turn, the truck was slow to straighted out. This is usually a sign that the steering is out of alignment. I have worked on cars for years and I know what I am talking about. 5.) We returned the truck after hours. I then get a bill mailed to me that indicates a $20 charge for dropping the truck off after hours. I did not see that charge pointed out anywhere when I completed the request for the truck. 6.) I called the manager to discusss these issues. I did receive a call back. However, I was told that he took the truck for a ride and felt there were no issues. He did say that I may have had issues, but he didn't I have rented many times from Uhaul in the past and I can easily say that this was the worst experience I have ever had. I wish you good luck if you rent from these folks in Middletown, NJ.

David SokolerThe truck was missing the knob to open and close the driver's window. The driver's sun visor was broken and dropped down in front of my face at every bump. And the gas was not full. They just told me to bring it back at the same level. Do I tell the attendant to just fill it to 7/8 of a tank? It was returned full. I would be appreciative of a response to my comments. Thanks

Her customer service was top tier and yall need to hire more employees who have the patience and knowledge to deal with customers the way she does.

Nicholas WestThey didn’t come out to inspect the van with me. Just given a key and told to walk out to parking lot F. I said the van has a big sign in the window. I was told Just put the Winshield sign behind the seat. Zackary was pleasant and knowledgeable.. His co worker knew nothing was rude and brushed me off. The van was dirty and seat full of pet hair. In the background was loud head banging music , what seem to be coming from the shop. I have used this Uhaul location many times, but yesterday was a bad experience . Upon returning the truck with a full tank of gas, I had to pull around the front exit, to back into the appropriate rental returns , someone left a parked truck blocking the other side of the building. .

AARON ISAACSONThe associate behind the desk was not friendly or helpful. The men in the back were cursing. When I got in the truck it reeked of weed and cigarettes. The inside of the windshield was covered in a film making it hard to see out of. There wasn't any windshield washer fluid. Upon returning the truck, the same lazy associate was there and barely acknowledged my issues, did not apologize or seem to care. This was a very disappointing experience but I was on a tight time-line and could not go elsewhere.

Tara TraederThe trailer I rented was full of leaves. It would help if these leaves were cleared before I rented the trailer. I used the trailer to transport mattreeses and a box spring and the leaves got on the mattress. I returned the trailer with the leaves still in the trailer. Unfortunately the next renter will have the same problem.
michael torambeAlthough the manager of the location was helpful for the process, many questions that were important were incorrectly answered in regards to tolls and vehicle class among others and additional calls to the customer service number had to be made who provided the correct answers. Location managers should be trained in the product they are working with. As for the 15ft truck, it was picked up with many noted issues. There was tape all over the top of the windshield, paint chips, dings, huge dent on front bumper, I mean honestly I get it, it's a fleet moving truck, but Uhaul should have their one way vehicles in top notch condition. It was a bit of a turn off and put a bad taste in our mouths that it looked so poorly. It was apparent that the vehicle wasn't even checked by management or anyone there because the comment "I didn't know any of that" was said more than once. Uh, you should know the condition of your vehicles, especially one way ones! Nice people, but do better please.
Catherine FerreiraTruck was not where it was supposed to be. We had to search the property in the rain. It wasn’t packed with supplies I requested so I had to go back out and bout it at a store. Took 40 mins to pick up truck and had to call customer service multiple times since store wasn’t open
Kristina Knapp JackMy first time renting from Uhaul. It was such an easy transaction for me as a customer. Dominic was professional and courteous despite challenging situations. In a short period of time I could see was that it was a rainy day, system issues, busy day and time with trucks going in and out. Kudos and thank you to him.
EVA WEISSINGERI always thought that it was mandatory that each person who rented a trailer clean out the trailer before returning it. When I got this trailer, it had mud, pine needles, Styrofoam pieces and was filthy, but it was all U Haul had for my immediate need to pick up a couch and mattress from Costco. I needed a 6 x 12. Once I got home with my items, I had to get a towel and wipe off all of my boxes and mattress plastic cover to get the mud off. Xavier, (from U-Haul) said, "It is because it has been raining and we can't get people to clean out their trailers". How about this idea, If a trailer comes back with mud and trash in it, how about U-Haul clean it up before they rent it out?? I love U-Haul and will continue to go back, but it was pretty nasty using this trailer. And, I personally swept out most of the mud before I returned it. Glenn
Glenn JonesHave more competent staff members who are motivated to work. Only one employee working anytime I go and line is very long. I was given the wrong truck from the license plate I was texted prior to leaving Uhaul location. Luckily I caught the error. I picked the truck up at night. As an older female, I was not given any basic operating instructions. It was dark out and Cabin lights were off. I drove without noticing that I had to disengage Tow/haul button. Upon returning the truck the credit card system was not working properly causing a back up in customers waiting for service.

ROBERT RUSCILPicking up and dropping off could not have been any easier. In this regard, my experience was great! The truck itself had a couple of issues. The visor on the driver side was broken so it could not be latched/secured in place. The driver side review mirror was loose so it would not stay in the position I needed for it to be used.

Brendan BloomPlease make sure you have the equipment assigned. I tried to do online, but I had to go inside. The truck noted had been sold over a year ago. I tried to turn on the lights on the second truck and the dials pushed inside the dashboard. The third truck was fine. I didn't put enough gas in because I listened to 2nd truck instructions. That was on me. You can make sure that all controls work - Lights not working is unacceptable. I'd have been screwed if I didn't check them.
Tanya MooreThe overall experience was very poor. The reason is because the cargo van locked on me when I closed the door of the truck. I was forced to request roadside assistance and charged an exorbitant rate to have the truck unlocked. I request that this fee be waived because I was not informed of this possibility. Thank you

Craig KielyThere isn't anything needed to improve. I experienced great work and excellent communication. Dominic's (not sure of spelling) skill was only outperformed by his consideration while doing the task. He called a couple of times during the process to make sure I was ok with where to place the device in the car among other things. As a beginner in hauling a trailer he answered all of my questions and gave me great advice on where to get other things I needed that U Haul didn't have. Great work ethic and great customer service. Highly recommended.

ROBERT RUSCILThe local dealer told us they had 3 trailers but they were all for local usage. None for 1 way rental. We called the main u haul number and they arranged the 1 way at the same location.
