Stop over charging. They made me rent a trailer for two days for 5 hours use. Said they where almost out. They has a dozen sorting there. Very unhappy.

Firstly, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to Marcel, Rhonda, and Mr. Blake, who were all instrumental during the pick-up of my rental. Marcel and Rhonda went above and beyond in ensuring that I received the truck needed for my move, demonstrating exceptional customer service and dedication. Mr. Blake's commitment to maintaining the equipment in pristine condition for renters like me did not go unnoticed. Their collective efforts significantly contributed to a positive ending to what was an arduous and frustrating start of the rental process. My experience was not without its challenges, particularly concerning the reservation and scheduling of one-way rentals. Despite making a reservation for a 26' truck well in advance (on March 11 for a March 23 pick-up), I encountered unnecessary stress due to the lack of clear communication and assurance regarding the availability of my requested vehicle. The disclaimer regarding pick-up locations did little to prepare me for the last-minute notification that my truck was not available at my preferred location. The alternative offered—a significant detour to another location—was impractical and could have severely disrupted my moving schedule. Thankfully, a solution presented itself when a 26' truck returned while I was discussing my predicament with Rhonda. Marcel's quick thinking and efficient handling of the situation allowed me to utilize this truck for my move, demonstrating remarkable professionalism and calm under pressure. This turn of events enabled me to complete my move as planned, returning the truck the next day without issue. While I am immensely grateful to the staff at U-Haul of Pompano Beach for their invaluable assistance, I urge the company to review and improve their processes for one-way rentals. Ensuring that vehicles are available as reserved, without last-minute changes, is crucial for maintaining customer trust and satisfaction. Christopher HeitmannYou can Ask if the use will be interstate long distance and then suggest a newer truck , I did state that I would be keeping it overnight and drive ing over two hundred miles, round trip .. The truck had almost 150,000 miles on it . The transmission felt like it was slipping when you start off and was struggling to get to 65mph . It was a lot of play in the steering wheel and the alignment seemed off . It was a torturous drive . Also all other times I rented from UHaul in the past and it has been many many times, the gas tank was full. This rental had a little over a quarter tank. So before I could even get in the interstate which is a half mile away from dealer I had to get gas then get gas as to ensure I had what I left with. Seems like a lot of work for the customer . It was also smelly inside , radio hardy worked . Not wifi friendly .

Christopher SilpotThis location was okay, however my entire rental experience for a motorcycle trailer was a disaster. Despite having made a reservation at the location on East Sample Road a month in advance, when I showed up to pick up the trailer, none were available. No prior notice from the store. I was then sent to the location in Pompano Beach which had a larger trailer (which I did not want, but was out of options at that point), with the guarantee that I would get a larger trailer for the same price as the smaller motorcycle trailer. This was confirmed by the Pompano store during my wait there. At my travel destination nearly 300 miles away, I received a phone call from UHaul wondering if I was bringing the trailer back. I said "No, I have it rented for four days." Confusion on the other end of the call. I returned the trailer today as scheduled and received an emailed receipt, which was wrong as they charged me for the price of a the bigger trailer. The total fees were double what was supposed to be charged. I have spoken with the representative who assured me it would be fixed by her manager and they would call me with confirmation. Nothing yet. This is the second time I have had difficulty renting trailers from the East Sample road location. That place is a complete disaster. Not only did I lose over 2 hours of my day on Thursday, the bigger trailer cost me significant more money in gas. Now, after return of the trailer, my bill is completely wrong. Not easy and simple as advertised. The Pompano location does have much better customer service and inventory. Just a shame I have to drive a much greater distance to go to that store, rather than the one that is very close to my home.
James GaineyI reserved a 10 footer truck on yesterday, it was the same truck from the day before, I refuse to take it cause they still hadn't had service for the tire maintenance problem. So they did give me a 15 footer for the same rate. But as the day went there was a problem with the a/c, so I called the store and spoke with the manager, when I returned he checked it out and resolved the issue for me, I was pleased of his satisfaction to the customer. But they really just need to inspect the trucks better.

Felipe WongThe reprehensive could not properly read a fuel gauge and wanted to over charge me for the return fuel reading on the vehicle. I returned the vehicle exactly the same amount of fuel I took it with. I know what the reading was. I put more fuel in the vehicle not to pay an extra for the fuel level. I over fueled the vehicle to satisfied the reading to end the issue with the employee. I got a different employee when I came back to do the return. Teach your employee how to read a fuel guage

WILLIAM HEWESThis is a almost new vehicle but showed poor cabin maintenance, looks more like truck with three times the miles on it. I drove off in the shade and dint notice the dirty windows, when driving in the sun, I had to pull over on the first gas station to wash all glass. then when loading, I discovered Roaches and had to fumigate. I mentioned this to the clerk when checking out and asked to speak to the manager, I was told Mercedes is not available, she tuck notes, said I would be contacted with a follow-up, none was received. This is a fairly new, large and clean franchise but the people that run it don't match up. The front staff while friendly should get instruction to be more professional. I'm a frequent U-Haul renter on different places and can judge a well run place the minute I check in, this place does not hit the mark. Not to be posted, it's more intended for owners and management to take a closer look at the shortcomings. I always use U-Haul when I need a rental and will continue to do so. Hans

Another customer comes up and she comes out and checks him in and I'm still waiting and when she finishes looks at me and ask could she check me in, tells me she has a customer inside, where ; l walk inside to look she was walking around, l rent from this store daily, some of these new employees need better training on customer service .

I was forced to rent a truck plus pay the gas, miles, insurance that i would not have paid if my trailer were available. The credit did not cover the costs that were due to the poor reservation system.

Consuelo NunezI was over charged for my mileage. I paid for 50 miles. And only did 12.5. Then on top of that. That i was charged they added gas which was of course i didn't stop to put gas in it cause i was local. Then on top the 85 for 50 miles they made me pay another $23 which in the end ended up being total $111. 00. I'm not sure if this is a private owned but definitely i was ripped off. I said 4 times I'm confused how I'm being charged this much. And the response was the computer did it. Finally i said just charge me what you want so i can get out of here. Totally a scam.

ron johnsoni had a problem with my new apt not being availble when promised and when i showed uo with my rental van full of my belingings i beceme stressed out and called the shop and 800 number. both the store and 800 gave me same identical suggestion... keep the van untill u move in because it would be cheaper then renting a storage unit and because of my age ( 63 ) currently undergoing chemotheaphy would save my body from acrually loading and unliading the contents. i was given a good price to just sit on van until the apt was ready. thank you
