This location was fine, but my overall experience with UHaul was terrible. I came to this location because the original location I reserved with, did not have a truck for me point also when I called to customer service to get a refund on the guaranteed truck, it was not any kind of a good experience. I will not be using U-Haul again.

david sI ordered equipment whicch was not available - multiple dollies and hand trucks. Don't rent ghem if you don't have them. That place is pretty busy and should just invest inore.

raymond cDoor lock on the passenger door did not work (could not insert the key into the lock). Should be fixed. Initial gas amount was 1/4 tank - should be more fuel so don't have to go to the gas station right away.

john fThe Man In Charge told me everything was okay and I let him know about the rearview mirror and I put gas in the vehicle to make sure there was enough gas not to be charged $10 a gallon and when I got home I got to fix $56 charge on my credit card saying that it wasn't filled properly to enough quarter tank, and I just came from the gas station and he did not inspect the truck with me to inform me that I was low on gas and then went and continued to, work by himself he was the only one there and when I called back and tried to discuss it with them they were extremely rude an unhelpful and said we will charge your card and that is that and you're lucky we didn't charge you for the mirror cuz we don't know if you broke it from Las Vegas or it was that way and they called me boss man and my man in the vernacular they use to a customer was very rude and also the manager all three of them were very unprofessional verbally and argumentatively, even the manager and she mentioned that we're going to charge you on your card regardless there's nothing we can do about it we just work here I would never go there again and I will give them a bad review. I am in hospitality, and when I return things rental items or I'm getting rental items return I always inspect them and tell the renter that this is wrong or that is wrong and you might want to do this to save yourself some money if they was damaged or unsatisfactory items return it's not a common courtesy in good business thank you very much have a wonderful evening and thank you for the review, I'm glad I could let U-Haul know that that location in Santa Monica needs to be better managed and more professional, if there's an issue with a vehicle it should be promptly brought to the renters attention so they can Rectify it and to have better service and repeat customers Thank you very much.
francis vWe were not disclosed that the van did not come with air-conditioning, therefore was a very uncomfortable day in the desert with elderly. We want a refund. I also informed Walter the manager that I was going to use the van for 250 miles, but the summary said only 150 which lets me to think that I am going to get overcharged for the miles above 150.

Megan EThere was 1 person working. It took over 30 minutes to get my vehicle with a reservation that I pre-checked in for. The one employee was trying to help several customers at once. It was not his fault. The customer in front of me was very diffficukt to deal with. The check in process failed. My info had to be treated as a walk in, and had to be Rey keyed twice. The actual vehicle was fair. Upon return, I was not aware of the check in process. Once I asked, I went back to the vehicle to take the required pictures, the vehicle would not start, nor would the dash light up so that I could see the odometer. Luckily, I had taken a picture while I was waiting for the other rerun vehicles to be moved so that I could pull my rental up. There were so many returns in the lot, that we could not pull forward. There were more rentals coming in behind that had to wait on a very busy street to turn in. My son was behind me in my truck. He pulled into a parking spot to wait for me to check in. When we were ready to go, we couldn’t leave because there were so many returns blocking the lot. I had to direct incoming rentals to assist in allowing myself and 1 other customer to exit the lot in the opposite direction posted. I have rented here before with no issues. It seemed extremely under staffed yesterday. Thanks

Fred MGeneral Manager was insanely rude and kept swearing and I was there with my child. Absolutely disgusted by his behavior.
Michael HI would make one recommendation - the person handing over the keys to the rental truck should do a walk around of the truck with the renter. When we got to our destination we noted a lock on the back to open the truck, but we had no key. They forgot to take it off and my husband had to drive back to have it removed. Other than that - service was very good.

Sarah BI asked for 12 blankets, they were not in the trailer. When I went to load the trailer, it had a padlock on it. Fortunately my brother-in-law is in the scrap metal business and has every kind of metal cutting device know to man so it only took a few seconds to cut the padlock. The right turn signal didn't work and neither did the left brake light.

Venice SYou can talk to the lady that you have working at the counter and ask her to be nice. The phone rang while I was checking out and she was rude to the person who was calling, I found it odd that she also put it on speaker so everyone could hear the conversation, and another employee chimed in from the opposite side of the counter. So lame of both employees! Smh…
Richard DYour App sucks! Should be much easier to use, particularly when returning. Considering I ordered online, it to an exceedingly long time to actually get the vehicle. All of the things I had to do at the location, could have been done online and there should be a "grab and go" option (similar to car rentals). Also, the return process was not well explained, or intuitive, on the app. I was a much better process before the inclusion of technology.

evan cI had a 9’ cargo van, I used it to pick up a 72” dining table weighing less than 100 lbs. the cargo van averaged 7.9 MPG and had less than 5K miles. Total scam, will advocate against the Santa Monica location as they’re ripping off local residents.
Predrag SRental 15 foot truck was worn out and tired.Truck was clean but the AC only worked on high speed. Wiper blades were completely worn out and useless in unusual wet LA weather. This was a safety concern.The facility and staff were first rate. Would highly recommend this location.

Pavel K1) Parking Sucks 2) Takes wayyyyyyy to long to get the vehicle, even if you already completed the check in online prior 3) There were a shitload of scuffs and scratches on my vehicle not marked by x's already, which makes me think y'all were slacking but would have had NO problem forcing those charges on me if i hadnt already gotten the waiver. Idk, maybe you guys need a second real location in santa monica to lighten the load of this location.
