The workers were very rude!!! Used a truck for 1 hour and went 17 miles and was charged $40!! This feels like false advertisement when they promote it for $19.99. Menards has truck rental for $25. And its really $25!! I will go there from now on.

The representative that helped us with the rental was rude. He seemed annoyed and frustrated that we weren't purchasing the extra protection. When we dropped the rental back off, we tried making conversation with him and he seemed annoyed by it.

The people working were just not very friendly. The guy that I rented from bordered on rude, especially concerning paying extra for insurance. I declined, and he repeatedly told me I'd have to pay 45000 right away if anything happened to the truck. I heard him the first time, enough already.

The owner and driver were not only unhelpful but they accused me of lying about what the driver had told both my father and me. When I attempted to show the owner the recording of our call and the voicemail that was left at my home to prove my claim, he was uninterested. They gave us an incorrect shipment date later then when we needed it by and they did nothing to remedy this. It made us more stressed and lended itself to more work than was needed. I would not reccomend a ubox through uhaul again.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The store was clean and organized. I do wish that the return bank was not blocked so that I could just unload my trailer under the canopy instead of having to back it into a parking spot, but my son with me and was able to easily back it into place for me.

Just appreciate how smoothly this went. I was originally going to pick up from another location (3 miles away) but I received a phone call exactly when I was told when I ordered stating that they didn't have one but this location did. Great communication in your organization.

Truck was clean but mechanically not well maintained. The truck pulled significantly to the left, and the brakes didn't work until almost completely depressed, then they caught so hard the truck responded like you had just slammed the brakes.

Additional people are needed for check out when multiple people are booked at the same time. Few damage marks on the truck that were not marked. Truck steering was very poor and nearly caused an accident. Fuel gauge recorded seems to be bumped up slightly before my use and after my use.

You need more service personal to process vehicle pick ups; The key drop needs to be better explained because I, as well as other people were looking for a box and not a slot in the glass panel. I originally tried to rent from the 4000 Alpine location near York creek apartments and there was no evidence of it visible from Alpine it self. Maybe put up a sign or something better.

Went to pick up my pick up, it had a flat tire, went inside told the service representative it was flat, they seemed stressed and mad and did not believe me and made it clear they were upset that they had to get up off their chair and check out a situation I had nothing to do with. So they ended up giving me a different pick up truck. Then once I returned the pick up I paid in cash everything was fine until i open my email and received TWO receipts stating my payments. One my actual payment in cash in store for the truck I used and second a charge to my credit card for the truck I never used that had a flat tire and was canceled. So I call customer service tell them that I have a receipt for a charge on my card that shouldn't be there and they tell me I have two wait 5 days to see what happens because they don't know. Even though I was told my card would not be charged.

Please ensure you have the proper mileage recorded. I had a 10' truck that was recorded for 14118 mi on the odometer, when it really had 61898 mi. Luckily, I took a picture of the odometer before I left the parking lot and avoided a $15000 fee.

I asked for an appliance dolly. Brother was there and he heard me ask for an appliance dolly NOT utility. Things fall broken scratched wasn't happy. When I went back to the place that I got the U-Haul and the dolly the woman says I see here your request for appliance dolly.the difference seen. made a $7 difference okay and she said sorry for the inconvenience. This morning I get a note from the U-Haul place telling me an appliance dolly was never requested it wasn't in my order we're sorry we're not responsible. If you do go to them check them carefully papers equipment everything I trusted him I won't again!

I paid an extra amount of money to have UHaul hook up the car tow trailer and secure the car. The woman hooking it up at UHaul was very rude, and told me I'd have to backup the truck with trailer attached to get out of the parking lot. I I asked her to please get it headed in the right direction, as I didn't think I could make the turn I frequently drive a 40 foot class A RV and tow a car on a tow dolly, so I know how this works..Even the Gen Manager could not get it out of the lot the way it was aimed when they hooked it up. He ended up jack knifing the trailer and scooching it side ways on the tires to get it turned around . Then after the trailer was turned around and attached to the truck, she proceeded to attach the straps.When I stopped after driving for 10 minute to check the straps, the front right strap was off the wheel! Very bad. It had never been latched down!! I put it back on and then when we stopped for gas later, the left one was off. I had to take the car off the trailer, lay out the straps (they did not lay them out, just slipped them over the tires), drove the car back on and secured the tires properly with the straps.I got no instructions how to use anything, no instruction manual for the truck or dolly, no mention that there was a towing trailer indicator light on the dash and how to use that, nothing about the "manual" override transmission (which we discovered 3 states later)and NO explanation of anything. Also the truck did NOT have cruise control, which was very inconvenient for a cross country trip. I am very unhappy with this U-Haul at Alpine Ave,2345 Alpine Ave NW Walker, MI 49504. Also I specifically said I wanted to return it to Glenwood UHaul in Eugene OR and they booked it into another one.

I talked to a young woman to let her know that you have the wrong email address. And I wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything going on that I should be concerned about. She was actually very rude and let me know that I was wasting her time. I asked her to remove my email address from the order, she insisted that someone had typed a letter wrong and it came to mine by mistake. But I keep getting emails from you. It's not good for me to have her receipt and a lot of her personal information. Please remove my email address from your contacts. Double check mileage on vehicles. The last two digits were transposed for the odometer when I picked up the vehicle, which I didn't pick up on, resulting in confusion when I returned it because I only drive 15 miles and because of the recorded milage was charged for 68. THANKFULLY, your staff was wonderful and understanding, and acknowledged the numbers were incorrect, so charged me the correct amount.

I was 7 hours late in returning a unit that I had rented for one week. It was a cargo van that I paid almost $1,000 for it's use, with mileage. It would have been nice to waive the extra one day charge for being 7 hours late. Other than that, the Ford Transit van is an amazing vehicle. Good choice, U-Haul.

The store attendant had me pull around to the back of the building and when I exited my vehicle I slipped on the ice which possibly fractured my hand. The attendant helped me off the ground but did not offer to write an incident report. I am very disappointed that I was not able to pickup the trailer in front of the building where the parking lot was clear.

Very poor customer service. When I picked up my truck the lady at desk said to another employee can you go out and check to make sure it starts, because it does not always start. It started that time. I picked truck up on Friday night. Sat am, it did not start. I was a half a clock from the Uhaul location I got it from, I went there for help. Ryan the manager could not help, said not one was there with him (when I clearly saw an employee there - one that was behind the desk an hour later when I came in). He said for help I had to call the 1-800 #. I did so, they did not at first know how long it would be for them to get there to attempt to start truck. I asked Ryan if I could get another truck free since the one I paid for is not working, he said no. did not really try to help AT ALL. DID not seem to care AT ALL. Since I am a single mom of three and I had only a few people to help me move I could not waste time and I had to pay for another truck to load while we were waiting for the (already loaded) first truck to get fixed. The guy that came to fix truck said it was not battery problem but starter so I could not turn off the truck until I returned it. When I was done with it, I went to return it. Had a 40 min wait in line, while I was in line the two people behind the desk told the customer they were waiting on that "our manager screwed up"(the lady worker said) then the skinny guy worker said "Ryan ryan thank a lot!" Talking about his manager where all could hear. I was next up and the man behind desk (skinny white dude who obviously did not want to be at work from the way he was talking to the other person working the counter) looked at the line behind me and asked who just had a purchase. A lady who had just walked in he told to step up and he helped her. I said wow, he said I will get you next. BUT INSTEAD of helping me after he helped her, he put his coat and sunglasses on and just left. While I was still waiting. The lady behind desk then helped me, she was nice, however could not help me as far as me paying for two vehicles and for the gas and insurance on both. The staff were very unprofessional in many ways and the truck awful delayed us and no way to make it up to us. Very sad as i have used this location in past and had no problems but these workers were NOT doing a good job to say the least. Alpine Ave location in Grand Rapids

I have an issue that it costs more to do a one way trip vs bringing the dolly back to the same location. I understand that a dolly doesn't accumulate miles. I just find it ridiculous that I had to pay $30 more to drop it off at a location closer to where I had to drop off the vehicle. I am not impressed.

We did not have our attention drawn to the damage specified on the contract that pre-dated our pick-up, even though it stated that we authorized it and were aware of the possibility of water damage. It would have been nice for the worker to tell us about this rather than just write it on the form for us to discover after the fact.

I know I didn't reserve a 17' truck, but when I got there, there was a 17' available, but the lady didn't want to check it in. The guy next to her said he would, but she said no. She has very poor customer service skills.

The customer should always be right. I work for a very well known company and as a sales rep in this company, I believe we always should treat our customers the way we would want to be treated. Normally I don't write reviews but this bothered me so much I had to. When we arrived to get our truck, my husband was given the keys and not shown which truck it was. It was almost like finding a needle in a hay stack PLUS it was a blizzard out. Finally someone came out back and led us to the truck. We were getting ready to take our truck back and backed out of our apartment driveway to find that the truck would not move. It was stuck in wet snow, but nothing so bad to where it should get stuck. Tons of cars were driving through perfectly fine, small cars at that. I'm wondering if our truck had bad tires. We sat in our other car with our 2 small children as we waited for a long time to hear from road side assistance. I was told because it got stuck it was our fault so we had to pay for towing. When a truck is stuck in very little snow but all other cars are not, it should NOT be the customers fault. A very sweet woman named Jeanette from road side in Arizona got us connected with the local towing service and told us our fee would be waived for towing and they would extend our contact seeing as it was the middle of the night at this point. Jeanette was so sweet and made our very terrible night so much better. The next morning we arrived and were told the towing fee would not be waived. At this point I had decided we would never do business with u haul again. However, Ryan the general manager was kind and took action by helping us follow a complaint to road side assistance. I hope and pray our towing fee is waived so we can at least have somewhat of a good feeling about u haul. At this point I probably wouldn't recommend u haul. However, if this situation is made right, I might. This was our first time using u haul and could be our last. Let's hope this is taken care of so maybe we can visit again.

They couldn't "find" the truck I had rented after drop off, and when I called to check on it they said they couldn't find it but would give me a call when they did. I never received a phone call only an invoice. The vehicle I used sounded like a moped engine and was extremely loud.

I was not greeted with a hello or any acknowledgement upon entering the facility eventhough a woman was sitting in the first desk reception area. This was my first time using this facility and I was unclear as to the normal procedure there. When I was finally serviced by the owner operator everything went as expected, equipment was in good condition, price was as advertised, and very reasonable. Drop off was fast and efficient. To recommend this to another business associate would be a risk based on the greeting only.

There were not only issues with this experience, but also with a previous rental at the same location. When picking up the truck yesterday, 11/25/2016, I was asked by the owner when I'd be returning the truck, he insisted that I have it back by 7pm since that's when they close. When I asked if I were to bring it back at 9pm (which was my requested time frame when booking the reservation online) if I'd be charged for another days rental, he said yes. When dropping the truck off, I expressed my displeasure of how it was handled, the lady working said it wasn't her fault because she wasn't the one who rented it and went on to say that the store is trying to pull away from 24 hour rentals and insuring people have them back by close. That is not only poor business and customer service, but also a disservice to customers who are paying for a full day (24hr rental) and only being able to use it for 10 hours. Not only will I never use U-haul in the future, I will also deter others from doing it as well. Especially the Alpine location. Both trucks had engine issues and when I said something about it both times I received the same answer, "that's weird, it just came out of the shop." Well apparently it needs to go back into the shop, or you may even want to find a new mechanic. I'm very, very displeased with this experience, as well as past experiences.

We rent u-haul trailers fairly often lately for our company. They are always very clean and well maintained. However, one of the 4 tail lights were out, so I would recommend checking in on that for future renters. Overall, we are always very pleased with the trailers. Keep up the great work!

I had so many issues starting with the woman that origanally did the reservation she suggested a 10 foot box van so i took her advice and then had issues with a light on the dash board with a code that came accross and it set us back 3 hours and still no help cause no one wanted to drive to me to look at the vehicle and i would like some of my money back it was a horrible experience and i relocated to quincy illinois and had to drive all the way there with the light and code being on i will not recommand uhaul to any one at this moment as i said id would appreciate it very much if i can get some of my money back... Providing a ball for renters to rent from you would be great. If someone has a ball at home, but forgets to bring it with them they shouldn't have to buy a $27 ball for their hitch. A $5 ball rental fee would be more convenient.

THE last 2 trucks i have had has had problems. this one the tires kinda draged and the gas was more to fill than it should have been. the gas was not on full like they said it was. the last one i got also had problems on city it shimeded like it had a bad tire or blown. on hyw it was fine. every truck i get from them seem like its been in a accoucdent or sreached up bad ornot working like it should. the first one i ever got was a dream perfect exset a little casmedice problems.the gas was right on the truck was nice to drive. i have spint over 180 on truck rental this year on diff size trucks. in the past i have goten your trucks at lest one a year and never had much of a problem.

When a customer enters a greeting would be nice and employees should be a bit more helpful and friendly. Being sarcastic and having an attitude isn't appreciated. If you are aware that the employees we talk with to do the reservations are lying to get the commission the company should stop that business practice. If you know you are busy during certain times please have adequate staffing to meet the demands. Will definitely go out of my way not to rent from this haul store and maybe even the whole company due to my first truck rental being unpleasant. I needed the truck so I went through with the process even though I wanted to walk out.

The store owner Ryan Miller was rude and condescending. From the moment I walked in he was not kind nor welcoming. When I said my name he literally responded with "ok?" I guess I should have known to tell him my last name? Regardless he was rude. The rudeness extended into when I was paying for my uhaul. He again acted like I should know their credit card machines excepted credit. All these things sound minor but coming from the owner of the store who's name and face is all over the place you would think being nice and friendly would be a requirement of the job and if that is too difficult then maybe a leadership position is not for you.

I have use UHaul a few times before and this was by far my best experience. Price was very reasonable and the time to get in and get out was very efficient. I drove the 17' for 70 miles and it only took $18 dollars to fill it where it was. Love the Full Gauge by the way. Keep up the good work..!!

Get some more help for your employees. We showed up and found NO ONE there to help us. When he did show up he was so over worked and literally running (this impressed us) to keep up. I'm pretty sure they gave me the wrong truck... The contract's gas gauge and mileage were very different than the truck. It took probably 10 minutes between leaving the counter and an employee pulling the truck around. When he did pull it around, he just waved, shouted that this was it, and walked away. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it was worse than my average experience with Uhaul.

Physically closing doors was difficult. Doors were out of alignment. Metal securing latch was hard to close didn`t lay flat. This limited what locks could fit through the remaining opening.
