My truck rental was to be picked up in D.D.O (west island of Montreal), I also checked in on line the day before (Friday Sept. 10, 2021) and paid in full with my credit card. I was woken up on Saturday Sept 11, 2021 - at 8:19 AM by a U-Haul agent and was told that the truck would not be there for pick up on Sunday Sept 12, 2021 and I would have to arrange to pick up at a location that was impossible for me to get to (Jean-Talon) -(almost downtown Montreal). Your associate at 514-684-3273 (west island) told me that she personally would call back within 30 minutes, give me time to get organized and also agreed to provide me with an extra day with the 15' truck at no extra charge to me so long as I could pick up at Jean Talon. She never called me back to make any arrangements which was totally unprofessional and left me as a customer chasing U-HAUL. I had to call U-Haul and was put on hold several times, lines disconnected 2x and in total I waited almost 2 hours and still no service! I had to ask a French speaking friend to attempt to call and speak to the French speaking U-Haul line, and she seemed to get through within 10 minutes. The agent offered a 10' or 20' truck for me to pick up at Laval and also did not include my collision damage when I received an updated order confirmation by email at 10:009 A.M, in which case I had to call back U-Haul and try to have this added on the order again, and then I was told after several attempts that when I picked up the truck to speak to the agent at the U-Haul Depot counter in Laval, and have the counter agent add it back on to the order as customer service line could not help with this. In total, I waited over 3 hours on the phone to get service and get all issues sorted. I had no choice but to agree for 10' truck as I was not comfortable with the offering of a 20' truck as my rental was a one-way trip over 230km. Once I picked up at your Laval location, the counter agent was friendly, helpful but, did not ensure my proper telephone number to receive texts. He told me I'd receive a text for online & returns, and this is when I asked him about the telephone number and it was not my cellular, it was my home landline. This was his only mistake, as he told me that he could not fix the phone number on the invoice as the bill was already done. Other than this error, he was helpful and courteous. Then, I went to return the truck on Sunday Sept 12 -evening around 5 P.M. , and the lady at the U-Haul in Carp, Ontario - left early and all doors, gates were locked. She told me on (Monday) Sept 13 that she texted me a code to open the locked gate along with her cell number and if I had any issues about the return to text or call her directly... but I clearly did not receive the text as U-Haul in Laval did not put my cell number in correctly for me to receive any texts, so I had to return the truck back Monday morning before 9 A.M, which the truck was still on time for the 24-hour return. Now, I am left having to go back to the West Island of Montreal and rent another truck or trailer due to the fact that I did not get the entire move into a 10' truck as I had to leave items behind. Had I received the 15' truck that I originally ordered and prepaid and checked in on line, I would not have to make arrangements for another move. This was a pretty poor and horrible 1st time experience by U-Haul to leave an out-of-town customer scrambling and having to fix U-Hauls chain of mistakes!theresa O.

The truck was in poor shape. The steering was sloppy. The steering wheel had to be turned to the left in order for the vehicle to just move straight. If wheel was turned to indicate going straight the truck would be turning right. VERY DANGEROUS!!! Also more attention to detail would have been expected. After leaving my keys by accident in car after completing the drop off , the clerk told me I would be charge to open the door . He then tried open with a crow bar and said he won't charge me if he opens it but would call me by end of the day . At the end of the day he called me to tell me opened it but I had to come and pay him 20$ cash . It could not be paid by credit card as he didn't want to show it to his boss . I didn't go . He called me at the end of the day to tell Me he was still waiting for the cash . I told him I called u haul directly and I was told there was no such charge . He hung up on my face . I made a reservation for a 20 foot truck but when it was given to me it had a flat tire. The location did not have a replacement so I had no choice but to accept a 15 foot truck which forced me to use my 2 SUVs to transport thethings I could not fit in the truck. The truck had no battery. It stopped in the middle of the day with 42 degrees and I had to bring a mechanic with a booster and returned the truck to uhaul but what pisses me off is that after complaining and tried to call the manager he did give any concern and hang up on me and I was sent a receipt for the whole amount. That was so disappointing since I believed UHaul is a respected company but unfortunately it was really a bad experience and I will make sure not to recommend to any of my friends or connections.Antoine N.

The system is built in a strange way. My appointment was from eight to four. When I came at 3.40 pm to return the truck, and I was not able to fill the car with gasoline as it was (I spent about 4 liters). Therefore, I asked the employee that I would pay for these liters. But the surprise was that the price of 4 liters is 70 dollars before the tax. So I went to fill the car with gasoline and put in twice the amount. When I got back, surprisingly, I was 5 minutes past 4, so I had to pay double the bill. For example, the insurance became $30 instead of 15, knowing that it is a daily insurance. The service was excellent and the staff friendly but I spent over 30min in line and then over an hour waiting for your system to take a payment and register the account even though I had called earlier to reserve. This is my 3rd poor experience with U-Haul because of its systems problems. If you can't get that resolved you will loose a LOT of clients. The storage itself is very well maintained and very easy to access with a truck. However the service is very poor. We reserved a storage to have the free month but when we called to change the date, the agent over the phone told us the reservation was never done. We went back to speak to the same agent, he was able to give us the free month storage. We paid for the lock and we walked all th way to the back to see the locker and put the lock. It was raining a lot that day. When we got to the locker, we realized that the locker was locked so we had to walk all the way back in the rain to let the agent know. It was almost 7pm (closing time). If we wouldn’t have checked before closing time, we would’ve not been able to ask him to open the lock to access our locker. If the employee knew that he had to remove a lock before we could access the locker, why didn’t he advise us? J'hésitais à envoyer mes biens à l'entreposage par crainte de dommages ou vol. Mais vos installation sont rassurantes et c'est pourquoi j'y suis resté aussi longtemps. J'aurais une suggestion a vous faire au sujet des alarmes qui se font entendre quelque fois. Les clients ne se servent pas de leur carte d'accès de la bonne façon. Ils ne signifient pas leur présence, alors quand ils ouvrent leur unité, l'alarme se déclenche. Vous devriez leur expliquer un peu mieux le fonctionnement de la carte. Overall very good experience. It is very practical to be able to park inside!! Clean, spacious, new. Many trucks and trailers available for rent at same location. Recycling/exchanging area is a great, original idea!! Improvements needed: More chariots would be appreciated; most families need more than one when moving in, so when we arrived, no charriots were available for about 20 minutes. There is only one lift, so there was a small line-up: not too bad though, because the lift is quite large. Entering and exiting process is somewhat confusing - there is a risk of making the alarm go off or getting locked out if not operated properly: this needs to be improved (too much risk of false alarms and other errors). Recycling/exchanging area was closed, and we could not find any instructions on how to use it, either on site or on the web.Magdalena D. | Online Move In

Je suis donc allée en personne et encore là ,les employés se crissaient de moi ben raide. je demande pour 2 lockers 10' x 10' .... pas de souci, le gars m'arrange ça .. je repars eb me dirant "bon enfin," et aujourd'hui en lisant mon contrat, je me rends compte qu'il ne m'a réservé que 1 locker .... sérieux !!!!!!!!! J'ai rappelé, ça fait maintenant 20 minutes que je suis en ligne et ce n'est pas réglé...
