We dropped of our trailer at the Brighton, Ma location as we booked it. We received an invoice for an additional $532.23 saying we dropped it off in Montreal, Canada!!!! WTH !!! I had to dispute the charges on my credit card ad getting thru to uhaual is impossible!!!!

One of the customer representatives (male with Asian face) was so unhelpful and had no clue about his job. The worst part is that he was training a new girl. I had to go home and call u-haul in order to reserve what I needed and then go back to the store for pick up.

The person did not know what she was doing, took long, told me to bring back the trailer and it was closed. I spent all morning trying to call no answer, and finally the invoice is wrong I was charged for banks which I did not take or ask for.

Drôle de pratique de louer une voiture avec un réservoir qui ne soit pas plein à 100% et exiger d'amener la voiture avec le même niveau d'essence. Comment imaginez-vous que les gens qui connaissent pas la voiture calculent ce niveau avec précision ? Surtout quand il s'agit de longs trajets ? Évidemment, j'ai laissé plus d'essence qu'il y avait au début. C'est impossible de calculer à un litre près. Au retour on a refusé de me rembourser cette différence. Ou bien vous louez vos camionnettes avec le réservoir plein à 100% comme c'est plus facile pour tout le monde et comment font toutes les compagnies de location, ou bien vous rembourser la différence. C'est mon avis.

I would normally put excellent but today the person who served me on my reservation, was quite rude and it isn't the first time I've seen him acting up with black people! There are certain things that were clearly obvious while he was serving me and I know for a fact he doesn't act like this with his own kind! Either get rid of the racist or lose my business period! I believe Uhaul employees are nice people until you meet this guy! The racism is plastered and painted all over his face. I hope my feedback is taken seriously and the employee is reprimanded. This is where a lot of us avoid coming because of this certain individual! The attitude and triple checks on black ppl really need to stop from this guy it's sickening.

Le témoin de gaz n'est pas fiable et laisse les clients mettre plus de gaz qu'ils ont consommé car le témoin monte pas . L'agent m'a obligé de prendre 50 km et ma facture ça même si j'avais besoin de beaucoup moin et le kilométrage parcouru avec est de 30km . Donc jai paye beaucoup plus qu'il fallait 😕

Booked, reserved, checked in online, yet still waited almost 30 minutes before I got to the person in the counter - maybe something can be improve in this area - there was a line up that formed behind us - other than that, all is OK 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Customer service by one clerk was awful. There was a mixup with equipment and I rented a dolly that got given to another client. I am reasonable, so just asked the clerk if there was a solution. He said no, that he had other clients. Usually when you rent a dolly for the day, it's because you need it! I asked if there was any way he could contact the other Uhaul on near St Jacques. He gave me the number to call. The St Jacques one didn't answer. I asked him again, is there no way he can call/ reserve one from his system. He said no and left us to go sit in the back. Another clerk came out and upon hearing the situation, went on his computer to reserve a dolly on the St Jacques location. It took not even 2 minutes. I don't mind the mix up, and the three other guys working there were super helpful and apologetic, but the lack of care to find a solution by this one guy didn't make this location seem very professional. It delayed us 1 hour and made us spend extra mileage, which I am calling customer service about. All in all, the Uhaul equipment was good, but the lack of care for customers after they paid for their rental is why I wouldn't recommend.

The truck had issues with the automatic box, which forced the motor to turn excessively high, even with the truck empty and in a leveled street. The odometer was in miles/h and not in km/h as should be in Canada; it can sound as a simple thing, but it forced me to be twice concerned while driving the big truck and not being confused by the odometer reading. I understand that this is not your fault, but you, as an important truck rental company, could put some pressure on our government in order to reach an agreement with the US as to standardize border-crossing trucks to the Canadian (international ISO) standards. This is the first time since I've been renting with you that I had a complaint about the truck I drove. Normally they are in good shape.

Hello, You can't even imagine how I moved without dolly. You had to put them in the truck, how could you forget this important thing? I hurt my back because of your negligence, because I didn't have dolly. Then you just refund the 3 items that you had forgotten. Without even an apology. Then do you want me to say thank you?!

Fill the d@mn fuel tanks FULL !!! That way is eau to return-it at the same level..... you fill until the nozzle declips. Instead of asking the gas station attendant put 8 liters, try 3 more, maybe 1 and I think it'll be ok.... instead of greed !!!

I arrived and there was a 15 min wait as nobody was there. I wasn't given the furniture pads I requested but was ultimately billed for them. Requested a refund when I got back and was told the manager wasn't in and it couldn't be done. Have requested a refund by email and heard nothing back.

Have more than one person working at 7am when multiple people are coming in for their reservations. I had a reservation for 7am but because there was only one employee to process 5 reservations, I only actually stepped foot in the U-haul by 7:45am. Being that we were on a tight schedule, this is unacceptable to me.

Ok so I have not rented a Trailer or a truck in years. I took a shot at renting a large open trailer just before Moving day in Montréal. I called at 7 pm and a super polite , helpful young lady took my info and told me of where and what time A SINGLE TRAILER that suited my purpose was available. I arrived at 6:15 am, store opened at 7 …. They actually opened at 7am sharp! Two professional attendants at the cash, having pre- checked in using the online process , HAD me out the door at 7:07 am. There was a lineup of 20 plus people when I walked out the office as it was June 30! The pro helped me , actually did everything and I was out of the yard by 7:15 am. WOW DURING POST COVID I have come to expect all kinds of trouble, but not at this u -haul. Super efficient and polite. Upon my return later that same day as I backed the trailer into its slot in the yard I was surprised to see a check in person with his phone or tablet or whatever greet me by name as I was getting out of my truck. Talk about good old fashioned service!! He inspected the trailer , unhitched it, asked if I was satisfied and happy … he actually seemed to care and if he was 25 yrs old I would be surprised. Again I was clear and out of the parking lot with an emailed invoice to me within 20 min of driving into the lot. It was such a great pleasure and at 63 yrs old , having grown up where the customer was important, I was taken aback by the positive attitude, customer is important feeling I got from ; U-Haul de Montréal-Ouest - déménagement et entreposage 8101 Boul Montreal-Toronto Rte Montreal, QC H4X1N1 So I hardly ever do reviews BUT this local in Mtl just blew me away with their efficiency and attitude. I wish all businesses dealing with the challenges of employe retention these days still managed to input to their employees the importance of the customer. From The young woman on the telephone who took my order and helped me make the reservation, to the people on the front line who actually hooked up the trailer , to the people in The back shop who prepared the clean trailer with correct air pressure in all 4 tires , to the young fellow who checked me out and finally to the Manager who put together team …… THANK YOU FOR GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO DO A GOOD JOB. Simple but so so rare these days .

Don't imply reserved locations are final when you can change them. Extremely poor and not caring customer service and overcharging me on fuel when I returned the truck with more fuel. Shady practices all around, I was shocked to learn how bad this company is.

We picked up our truck on a busy day so there was a bit of a line up and delay with getting the truck that morning, however, the staff did everything they could to work as quickly as possible. Le personnel est très compétent. Cependant nous avions réservé un cargo trailer et la personne avant nous ne l'ayant pas ramené nous avons était très très gêné pour faire notre déménagement et avons dû louer une seconde journée un trailer à cause de ça. UHaul devrait pénaliser bien plus les gens qui ne ramènent pas à l'heure leur trailer car cela peut gravement handicapé les personnes l'ayant réservé ensuite. Nous ne louerons pas de nouveau chez UHaul et ne recommanderons pas non plus UHaul car nous ne voulons pas que cette situation arrive à quiconque.

My problem is not with the location. They were friendly and helpful, but there's no way to rate my experience with the services without rating the location. My problem is with uhaul's general service. First the quote I got when reserving was nowhere near the actual price: $90 vs $150. Second my reservation got moved from one location to another which was quite far. I did not get notified prior to showing up to the location where I had made the reservation. This made me lose about 4 hours of my life just driving in the city, made moving way more stressful than needed, and inconvenienced friends helping me more than was planned. You need to improve your services both on the quotes and communication. I also do not understand how your system can allow making a reservation and then moving it far. I made a reservation for a specific spot, and if you can't meet that part of the deal I'd rather cancel and find another solution than spend my time driving around instead of actually moving. On top of that not communicating with me the move is terrible. I even called customer service the day prior to picking up the truck to confirm everything was good and the person on the phone didn't mention the location change. All in all experience was very poor, I will go out of my way to find an alternative to uhaul next time I move and recommend others do the same.

Le personnel a été courtois, poli et les lieux sont beaux, propres et sécuraires. Cependant je suis extrêmement insatisfait du système de réservations. J'ai réservé un entrepôt 7pi x 14pi il y a 5 semaines et j'ai obtenu confirmation. Le jour d'emménager, on me dit que tout ce qu'il reste est un 5pi x 5pi. Il n'y a même pas la moitié de mes choses qui peut fitter à l'intérieur et ça me met évidemment dans le trouble. On ne m'a offert aucun autre dédommagement autre que de mettre mon nom sur une liste au cas où quelque chose se libérerait éventuellement...

Evaluation based upon procedure and not upon the service. Service was excellent. Rental Process is cumbersome and too long especially if one's movers are waiting for the registration to be completed since the movers are being paid by the hour. This is not the fault of the staff but of the procedure. Perhaps most of the information can be gathered during reservation. (Booking)

Your website indicated that our unit was sufficient for our 3.5 appartment. It was absolutely not sufficient and when I inquired about renting another space i was told there were none available. As it is we have had to split the apartment storage which is not the best solution! The staff knowing this problem did not suggest any other solutions, offer to call up other locations for us, or make any accommodations. In addition the sign in procedure is very strange, using one keypad to log in and then another to open the door to the rental spaces. I'm not sure I could manage that trick again and it didn't even work the first time I tried it.
