Did not actually have storage unit even though I had a reservation number and had to go to another city just to find a storage unit and was charged extra money for not being about to drop Uhaul off because it was full of items that should have been put in storage. Rep refused to take my storage unit reservation number because he stated all the units were full.JAMIL S.

I was offered a 4x8 trailer that was over 30 years old for a 1500-plus mile trip to New Mexico. I shared my reservations with the attendant and he did not offer any alternative. After picking up some things for the trip placed in the trailer, drove less than 10 miles, and found multiple things broken because the trailer had no suspension. I attempted to exchange the old trailer for a newer model but was told there were none available and was charged the day rate of $14.95 plus tax even though I had the trailer less than 24-hours. I would advise that you stay away from this dealer.Jimmy S.

They rented me a Uhaul where they knew the seat-belt indicator was broken, so I had to listen to chiming for 20 mins each time I started the thing. Also the truck was Garbage in that it did not want to shift gears, so I had to listen to that fun noise as well. The best thing I can say is that the AC workedMARK W.

I didn't have a problem with this location and the workers per se, but the experience of attempting to put my household items in storage and being turned away due to lack of space availability was very dismaying. The worker on duty attempted to help. The location was okay.Michael M.

I used some of my rent money to for our house to move , I returned the uhaul on full and I did not get my deposit back so now me and my family have to find a way to make that money up to pay our rent uhaul it a scam and it hurts people in need instead of helping themWILLIAM W.

It wasn't necessarily the store. I made arrangements to pick up the truck 3 mikes from my house. I was emailed Saturday that my pick up and drop off place had changed from athens to Decatur due to the truck having issues. I called and was passsed around for over 2 hours. When I finally got to speak with someone about the additional mileage I was going to be charged for, she was the rudest person I believe I have ever talked to. I didn't change the venue y'all did due to equipment issues. The distance from where I was to pick up and drop the truck off was a total of almost 30 miles. My total usage was 71 miles. 30 if that was having to go to the new dealership. I just didn't think I should have had to oh that mileage due to an issue with a truckTara J.

When we moved out the extra key to the lock was not returned. I feel if I had to buy the lock so they could keep a key it should at least be returned when I move out. The staff was friendly and very efficient. I can't imagine that they could improve the experience at all. I was amazed that they got my trailer outfitted so quickly and had everything together. Much quicker and nicer than other UHaul locations I've patronizedLEO F.
Personnel in two different locations were extremely helpful, friendly, professional. My only complaint was the 800 phone number and website. If I called the local number, I got the national number, which overall was frustrating and ultimately not useful. Sometimes I was able to do what I needed on the website, but not always. Personnel training is top-notch. Techno stuff needs work, but would definitely recommend the two locations in Decatur, AL.JAMIE K.

I only have one concern about the van that I used. I cheked and double checked to make sure that all the doors were locked before leaving. Yet, at my destination the rear cargo door was unlocked. And then on my return journey in spite of double checking the doors, I was motioned to by a passing car and when I stopped to check the van, I found the back cargo door slightly ajar. I secured it and continued my trip. Thankfully, when I arrived at my final destination all the doors were still securely lock.ANITA R.

I basically had to call from her store and have a rep locate me a truck at her store. she could of at anytime stepped in and helped me, no customers in the store, but she didnt. Generally speaking the staff was EXCELLENT, however, I did have one bad experience with a female worker concerning an error in billing. She could not give me an answer to the issue and said "she couldn't help me" in a less than desirable tone and demeanor. She also said that she would have the manager call me for further clarification and help that she could not provide but I was never contacted. Taylor was always helpful through email and the in-person staff was always accommodating, helpful and friendly. One bad experience was all that I had.john e. | Overall Experience

The absolute worst experience. They computer system was a mess, long wait to get the truck. They said I could drop it off the truck after hours with no extra charge. When I dropped it off the website to check it back in tried to add a bunch of extra charges for just that. When I said that I did not agree with the charges they said they would contact me in 72 hours. Three days latter nothing, they already had my upfront payment so I did not worry about it, they did not contact me in 72 hours so that upfront payment should have been the final bill. TWO WEEKS LATTER they with NO notice or contact they pulled out a payment from my card. Now looking through my account it looks like the upfront payment never went through. Just how much of a mess is your company for the prepayment that showed up on my account to just disappear to show up TWO WEEKS later with not notification and for a different amount though the new amount is less however that happened. And three days after I turned in the truck they sent me a text to ask if I had returned it because they could not find it. How does it take THREE days to figure out one of your trucks are missing, (it was probably not missing they probably just did not update their computer that it was returned, as this was the issue that happened when I came in to pick it up), and instead of trying to figure out where they messed up first they decided to ask the customer if they know where the truck they turned in three days ago is. My experience felt like they had no organization and that no one was completing all the steps to return/rent the trucks out to people, and the website to pick/return the truck is an absolute dumpster fire with no consistency or quality control. The computers had gone down that day (which had caused the delay in me being able to pick up the truck) so I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and hope that most of this mess was do to the reboot of their system not going well. As someone who works a lot with computer I know how much of nightmarish mess it can be when systems goes down/ get out of sync/ crash. But also as someone who works with computers and spends a lot of time working on usability and testing, it is unacceptable to have website/computer systems that are that much of a mess. Though that issue is more with U-Haul itself then the actual location. The interactions with employs while in the store, while not anything great, was also not terrible. Over all, next time I move (may that be as far into the future as possible) I will be trying a different company to hopefully not repeat such a mess.Kaden B.

I was over charged and had to pay an extra day because the customer service that help me didn’t a activate my card for my 24 hour access. I called the after hours number to report in on why I had to keep the trailer and extra day because I couldn’t get in my unit. They told me I wouldn’t be charged because they was at fault but then the next day I was charged $80 extra bucks on my card I had to go into the office not once but twice to have them move empty trailers out of the way where they parked them in front of my unit. I was suppose to be about to get my uhaul at 2 am but wasn’t able to pick it up until 9 am. Throwing off all my schedule for them move. The whole thing using uhaul has been a nightmare Next time I will pay extra to get an istorage and Ryder truck. I was very disappointed on uhaul. When you went into the office or store on 6th ave. The customer service was very poor. I stood in the store over 15 mins with no one to be found and they was all seen out back smoking. This store needs new management or employees. Quite a bit more than I'm used to paying! Could NEVER get a hold of anyone by phone! Always on hold. Billing is bizarre...account online shows NO balance due but then assessed a late for not paying! "There was no balance due the 21st. You didn't have a balance until the 22nd. But you didn't pay it so there's a late fee." Well if NO balance is on account why would I pay? If there's a balance DUE the 22nd, then it should show that online from the 23rd of previous month until date due! Seriously?!
