Michael MazurekThe customer service was terrible. I had booked my truck a month in advance. I was told I'd be picking it up at the collier location, no explanation that I would be potentially picking it up elsewhere. When I called the week of and tried to verify they were cagey at best about where I could pick it up. In my opinion knowing that the ft mysers locations has all the sizes in surplus and I was never going to be able to pick it up close to my home,waiting to the day of so I could not book something else. When I called and simple asked for a discount, he said I will give you 20 additional miles, that location was an additional 40 miles from the original and 67 from my home. He stated that my home location was of no concern to uhaulm well quite clearly. I mean what customer knowingly books a uhaul 1hour and 45 minutes from their hime not to mention he was only giving me 20 extra miles. I asked for a different size truck to make up the huge fucking waste of time or for a discount he said he could do nothing for me. I will never use uhaul again

I reserved a 20' had to enter my credit card info the secure the reservation but when I arrived I was told they didn't have that size so I had to downgrade to 10' truck. Even with the downgrade I paid the exact same I was quoted for a 20'. Not at all a very good experience.

She told us $20 and of course we believed her but then when we return the truck they charge $40 a day so either she’s not informed or she’s a liar and I guess it what it means you have to review your contract even though they tell you one thing and then Bilyeu another I don’t recommend this company.

Niels ThomsenThe first truck had the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON so I turned around, returned van and waited on second vehicle. The second truck was not clean and only had a half tank of gas. Not able to slide the driver seat back and recline makes the van uncomfortable to drive long distance. Also, if you place a governor on the vehicle speed, add cruise control.

Don Cooketruck was not very clean, the front bumper was caved in - and it smelled like cigarette smoke. They charged me $5 for the 2” ball hitch without telling me (I would’ve used my own) and the truck had 1/4 tank when I picked it up.
John HealeyFront desk was good, but yard crew was a bit disinterested. Had to ask for each dolly. Then had to ask for blankets. Got one bag of blankets, showed the guy the paper work which showed 36 blankets reserved, then got two more bags. Turned out that the bags don’t have 12 blankets in them, so ended up with only 16! This guy did not understand English! Fortunately, we will not need to use this location again.

The man behind the desk was able to get my reservation moved back to Fort Myers and saved me over an hour of driving. I am so thankful.

Timothy McGrathThis is the second time we've used this location in as many months and the personnel are efficient, friendly, and courteous. The checkout process is speedy and everything went smoothly. They hook the trailer up to your car or truck (to make sure it is done correctly) and then you drive on your way. Couldn't be easier. I believe this to be the main U-Haul location in Ft. Myers and would certainly go out of my way to find this location instead of hoping the local gas station had the trailer or truck you needed. We didn't need boxes and blankets but they have all that there too.

Made reservation and then changed the date of pod delivery. Email confirmation of revised dates and the app continued to display the old dates Uploaded photos of driveway for box placement and required multiple attempts Of GREATEST CONCERN - box pickup on Jan 4. Box delivery Feb 27 and in February the app and website lost all information. I log in and it says NO ACTIVE RESERVATIONS and NO PAST RESERVATIONS. Called customer service to confirm and information was " in the system ". Feb 26. One day before delivery did the website update with information and the reservation. This was after I spoke with scheduling on the delivery time window. The app experience is unacceptable! Just yesterday a person that is moving asked for my recommendation. My response has to be the people at Fort Myers were great. The UBox is great cost The app and website has problems

I had to lay on my back in the pouring rain and hock up the chains and wires because she hadn't a clue. I was completely drenched, my clothes soaked while on my way for a full day of packing up the garage to move. She may be a very nice person but clearly has been assigned a job she is incapable of doing.

When being attended to employee rudely interrupts you to help another customer that is being attended by another employee. By far the worst location. Ubox has been damaged for almost 2 years and personal information never updated. This whole team including management need some serious training.

I also think the amount of emails for me to RATE your company before I even got my truck rented or moved into the room bordered on harassing!! considering I deleted 12 of them in a mater of days and continued to recieve RATE YOUR EXPERIENCE prompts etc via emails & text until I did!!! I even got an email saying I was late on room payment for a wrong room size that should have been deleted from your system and my money refunded or exchanged for the one I actually DID need! I HOPE this is satisfying and you will Now leave me be on the emails & text now!!! I don't have time to play on the computer and prefer my face to face dealings to earn ratings Not an automated forced opinion!!! Thank you - would not rate for exorbitant pricing - sorry!! It's just too high for the 15 other states I've lived in.

This has by far been the worst experience of my life with U-Haul & I don’t plan to use any services in the future or recommend to anyone. There was absolutely no communication from U-Haul prior to my pick up date; no phone call, email, text, letter NOTHING.

Then you have to call around to locations to find a unit, but after 3 rings the call gets transferred to the national customer service. Then they tell you the location has an open unit. Then you go to location and there is no open units. Then you find a unit at a location but the website the Uhaul employee uses daily is not working.
Lawrence Solem | First ImpressionsAlthough the lady at the desk was VERY nice and calm, the manager was very frustrated. Apparently, the call center was renting out units and providing contracts for units that were not actually available (Due to Hurricane Ian). We were not able to get the 10X10X10 unit for $149.95/mo wit the free month for renting the truck thru the same location, we were contracted for but we were able to get an available 10X12X25 unit. What was aweful about the experience is that we not only had to pay $220 for the larger unit vs getting any compensation for the inconvenience, we also were not provided the free month for renting the vehicle as promised. At the time, I had been in the office for well over an hour trying to figure it all out while my husband and our friend had started to unload in the building where we were supposed to have our unit (climate controlled). Once I paid for the larger (non-climate controlled unit), we had to load the truck back up to then drive it and re-unload it. There is some VERY expensive furniture in the unit that should be in a climate controlled unit. Ultimately, the call centers should know what units are and are NOT available at any given location to avoid these types of issues in the future.

Three hours there for nothing really bad organisation. Non profetional staff not a clean place I will never recommend uhaul to no one 👎
Evelyn Santiago | Overall ExperienceOur unit had severe damage from the hurricane where are the roof caved in and flooded everything in my storage. The office staff was not helpful they wanted to argue that there was no water damage when it was apparent and all of the insulation was hanging down in the unit. Although my unit was paid until October 31st I had to move all of my damaged items out and find a place to dispose of them and then Salvage what I could into a different unit on October 28th. When I returned at 7:00 p.m. that night to get my last truck full of items I was locked out and could not get into the facility and I could not put a lock on my storage to protect what was left in there. I tried reaching management and they did not return my call to give me access which I did not understand since my unit was paid for through the end of the month so I should not have been locked out at the gate. When I return the following morning I discovered that someone entered my unit and stole a lot of items that were left there. The management said they are not responsible for that because they do not consider it breaking and entering since I did not put a lock on my unit. Ironic I wasn't able to get in to put a lock on my unit because I was locked out at 7:00 p.m. and the office notified me that they were not able to look up anything on the security cameras to find out who got into my unit because the cameras are not working on that part of the property. How convenient

They patiently answered all my questions and I was ultimately satisfied with the outcome. The reps were doing an excellent job even before the owners came out to check on things. (They had been in the back checking each unit and the grounds.) The owners were also on point, ensuring that everyone was satisfied.

It took an hour to figure out this situation and I had to pay my moving guys extra money to wait in the horrible heat to get another unit. I don’t know if my stuff is ruined or not. No one answers my calls)

Ido Rabinobitch | Overall ExperienceMy experience has not been the greatest at this location. Issues with my unit leaking. Had to physically move to another unit and a lot of my property was damaged. Found out a month later that even though I was moved to a new unit and given a receipt that I was not actually moved into the unit. My access for entry was deactivated. I tried working with Ashley on 9/7 who kept asking for a unit number and was not interested in trying to help solve my issue. She was more concerned with having to finish her test and online classes for U-Haul. Multiple attempts trying to reach out the manager listed on the door and never received a email or call back. After walking back and getting into my unit to show proof it belonged to me, I worked with Ms. Lawson who was very friendly and seemed interested in trying to solve my issue. She did have to get help from Adam Anderson and he approved one month free due to the error. But he also repeated that the month would be free a total of 6 times. (Making me feel as I should just not complain and be grateful). Overall this experience from the leak, damage and treatment of the unassigned unit, panic of not knowing if my property was still in my unit, having to prove it was my unit, being charged for the unit I moved out off and being treated like I was bothering Ashley because her test was more important than helping a customer, made me really loose faith in U-Haul and it's ability to treat their customers with care and respect. My hopes in providing this feedback is NOT to get anyone in "trouble", but to make your team embrace their responsibility and empower them to act as a good corporate citizen by continually improving the customer service experience. It takes one team member to step up and make changes and challenge their teammates to do better. These minimal changes may seem short term but each change can make a long lasting impact not just for customers experience but also for U-Haul sustainability!

The computer information did not match the reality of availability. Both times I unloaded and moved many boxes to both occupied spaces, and had to move/reload. 3. The whole experience was bad so I canceled my reservation and asked to be refunded all money and did not rent the space. You really need to have phones in the units to communicate with the staff up front. It was very difficult to exit the gates and navigate around the congested footprint of the facility every time the units were not available. The whole experience was beyond frustrating .

When they arrived, they were greeted by the rudest and most condescending agent ever. She lied that our reservation was not there, so we had to show proof. She insulted my mother and called her names. She then acted like she could not find any other details of our reservation and forced us to produce written proof. She failed to explain anything about how to find our storage facility and was rude again when asked. The moving help ultimately had to guide my parents around the facility and help my parents find the unit. I am extremely disappointed in this customer service and she truly seemed to hate helping customers. Had I not already made these reservations and requested moving help, I would have told my parents to leave immediately. I question that my belongings are safe with staff like her in charge. I wish my mom had caught her name, but she was working on January 11th at 7am. I have never left a bad review but her behavior needs to be addressed.

Also i move out of my storage unit and had to move all my things back to ohio from Florida and they took $200 from me and refused to give it back even tho i was moved out. Which also put me in a bad place in traveling. I was stuck in georgia for like 3 hours. They gave me a flawed truck i had to fix the wipers several times on the truck til eventually it couldnt be fixed anymore and i had to pay to replace it. Which also took from my gas money. On top of all of this the gas tank was not on full at time of pick up and the owner/manager of the location was very rude and very non understanding.

CS told me that everything was changed and we were good to go. They verbally confirmed that the old unit was no-longer on my account and the new unit size was reserved since they only had one left at this location. Zola discovered that CS reserved the new unit size but also activated my other unit. Zola was able to quickly fix the CS error and made moving in easy. The location is super packed with equipment but it is obvious they work hard at keeping the area clear for loading, unloading and maneuvering your vehicle and equipment in and out of the location.

When I first rented two units you had a couple: Manager and his wife who were wonderful and great people and very helpful, same as a very nice Cuban Lady. Then you remodeled and changed management, this time the manager, Jeff was OK, but the guy at the counter, a tall white guy had a very bad atitude, and treated me as if he was above, I don't know his name but most of the people that was at the Colonial Blvd facility under Jeff had that kind of attitude, and also look horrible (white trashy). Then you changed again for a new manager, I was told Jeff was moved to a brand new facility, I hope he has better hiring practice. Under this present management, the air conditioning is kept too high, it must be around mid 80s, very hot and I had lots of clothing and home lingerie there and in rainy season can get mildew. Thus I decided to move it to a different company which is even a little cheaper and have great maintenance. During my moving, I had to rent several times trucks, because I had lot of stuff and wanted to organize it neatly at the new place. Upon returning one of the trucks, stressed & tired as I was, I was received by a black guy outside to receive the truck under a tent, it was a very large truck and I was afraid of hitting one of the tents legs, I was only 6-7 feet from it and I told him my concern. He answered so nastily that the young man who was my moving helper said to me: "that guy sounded like he wanted to eat you alive, like an angry dog barking at you". So I did my best and brought the truck under the tent, and then went to get my own car to load a few things that I had in the truck & wanted to take home, yet...I was so distressed that upon making a turn on the street corner I went over the curb and the side of my right hand side of the car was hit and fell out broken irreparairably. I showed the manager later & he said he couldn't do anything about it because it was just outside of your premises, this accident is going to cost me approx. $500 or more, out of my own pocket because I cannot afford my insurance to go higer. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THAT BLACK GUY RECEIVING THE TRUCK COULD HAVE HAD THE COURTESY OF DRIVING THE CAR A FEW FEET UNDER THE TENT, OUT OF COURTESY FOR A LADY IN DISTRESS, AND AN OLD CUSTOMER, OR BE POLITE AND NICE TALKING SO HE WOULD NOT GET ME SO DISTRESSED. Also, at the counters there is only person assisting customers and prospect customers and sometimes not even one, we have to wait until that person comes from outside, and waste our precious time, specially when we are paying helpers per hour and also renting the truck per hours. Oh, and again, after returning the last truck a white man around (25-32 years of age) in charge of receiving the trucks, had exactly the same attitude yelling/barking at me as I was there waiting to bring the car towards the tent. and to put the icing on the cake: the shock I got when I rented the last time a truck is that I thought I had paid for a whole day (24 hours) and the guy told me it was only for 6 hours, because he had it reserved after those 6 hrs. for someone else, and I had already lost an hour waiting to be assisted and done the paperwork! So you make 2 days truck rental pay out of one truck in 24 hrs? !!! That is not proper and it should be reported to BBB. Which I might do if I do not get a retribution from you. For all the reasons above, I will not recommend your service to any of my connections. My recommendation is that you scan well the people you hire, have enough employees to cover the services you offer, I see the girls at the counter do not last long because is too much work for one person to handle, and the guys are very nasty and do not present themselves with a professional look for the job they perform. Like I said above: the managers are ok, and except for 2 clean cut young boys, one Latin and one American, the rest are frankly gross! I complained to the manager

First, the bad - reserved getting a hitch installed (in Colorado Springs, an hour away from our home) and then a 4x8 small trailer to take some personal items for our move approx 2 weeks out of our leaving Colorado. Then get a call the day before my hitch installation and they have to reschedule due to no hitch onsite. This happens on a Monday one week before we leave. Then we get a call the next day saying still no hitch and we must reschedule again. This time for Friday. But they agree to install part of the hitch assembly they do have on Wednesday and I drive 2 hours to get that done. Then we get a call saying our trailer is not available and no trailer available for the time we need on the entire front range. Time to panic. I called UHaul myself and find a bigger trailer (5x8) avail in Aurora, Co and reserve it for a Saturday after the rest of the hitch gets installed on Friday. Aurora is a 2-2.5 hour drive one way but at least it's available for Saturday. Thursday get a call from Colorado Springs and the hitch didn't show up scheduled to install now on Friday. Guaranteed it would show up Friday aftn so resked for hitch install at 7AM Saturday and then drive to Aurora to get trailer. Now Aurora calls and says the trailer is not available but they have one for me in Salida, an approx 3 hour drive up in the mtns from Aurora UHaul. Desperate at this point, I agree to go get it. Now for the good parts. The installation person in Colorado Springs installs the rest of the hitch EARLY Saturday morning and discounts the hitch install a little for my inconvenience. Good customer service although imagine my nervousness during the entire experience. The movers will be at my house Monday 8AM promptly and I needed this installation and trailer rental to go smoothly ahead of the moving truck showing up. I then drive up in the mountains to Salida to get the trailer and the people there could not have been nicer along with a TRAILER available for me. No discount or compensation for my inconvenience but I'm not expecting anything from UHaul. I finally get to my home Saturday aftn with a hitch and a trailer despite UHaul's causing me major inconvenience and headaches. The move proceeds smoothly and UHaul's location in Florida goes smoothly and professionally. No, I cannot recommend UHaul for your moving needs as it relates to Colorado locations. They could care less about having the customer change their schedule multiple times and drive untold hundreds of miles to get their services. No letter of apology, minor compensation for my inconvenience and major miles driven and time taken away from my move to get their services. Florida UHaul experience went well and I CAN AND DO recommend their location for their professionalism and organization.

Why in the world would I go to St Francis when my unit is here and I live in Cape Coral? The lines inside the store were horrendous! OMG...you seriously need more staff members. Your facility is GROSSLY UNDERSTAFFED. And to try and contact someone by phone????? Good luck! I moved out of the location on July 2nd, 5 days before my move out was due, and verified it with 2 staff members. Apparently was not closed out in your system and at 1 am in the morning, 10 days later, was charged a late fee and full months rent! Was attempting to load a very heavy item into a 4x8 trailer myself....not a single staff member of your facility offered to help me. A staff member from another facility just happened to arrive and saw me struggling and asked to load it for me. The only good note that I have is that most, but not all, of your staff members were friendly. Alexis was able to resolve my move out issue and corrected the error. Kudos to her! Thank you very much!
