To improve your contact services. I have tried to contact the 770 Gray Hwy., Macon, GA Office three times via email and telephone and got no response. I was charged a fee of $335.68 for a 132 mi. roundtrip, to include the cost of a damage window I didn't damage. The truck was not checked by me or the person who rented the truck to me when I picked it up. I only transported a mattress, in which we only used the back door to put it in and take out. According to my bill, the damaged done was the window on the side of the truck. I only had the truck for approximately 3.5 hrs.(give or take a few minutes). I rented it at 3:36 PM and returned it at 7:05 PM. No one has contacted me to inquire or discuss the damage or the bill. This is wrong. I know that I did not break the window. If I had, I would be glad to pay for it. When I called I was calling to inform them that I had forgot to put gas I had used back into the truck and to inquire about how much more would it be. And to my surprise, when I receive my receipt via email, a charge of $335.68. Something is truly wrong with this transaction. Please look into this matter and give me a call, email, or something, Thank you!!!!

The trailer was ok, but the hitch seemed to have a problem. I made the trip just fine, but when i was re-hitching the trailer it would never seed. This may need to be looked at.

The clerks there were very rude, they had to finish there personal conversation before they would speak to me. I stop in front of them on the floor and said hi to them. When they decided to help me she never looked at me at all answer in of my question like she was a robot and the manager sat there taping her nails on the counter.

The Gray Hwy location was great - no complaints whatsoever. It was a clean, well-organized, quick, and smooth trip. Pick-up and drop-off were both a breeze. The main call center to schedule reservations over the phone is a nightmare though. I called because I was having a hard time on the website (it wouldn't let me add a hitch and light hookup to my trailer reservation). I called and was transferred 4 times, and I had to start from the beginning of what I needed each time (what went wrong, then going through year/make/model, what hitch I needed, how much it would cost, etc). That alone was frustrating. Finally the last person I talked to on that call said a rep from the hitch department would call me back to let me know if a hitch for my truck was available at my location (even though I told them the website said they had it in stock). 30 minutes pass, it's almost time for me to pick up my trailer at this point, and no one has called. So I decide to call the Gray Hwy location directly and ask. Like it said online, there were 9 in stock. The woman who answered my call was incredibly helpful (I can't remember her name, but I spoke with her on 10/17 between 9-10am, if that helps her get any positive recognition). She sorted out all of the issues I was having and notated my order for easy pick-up. I asked her to delay my reservation by 1 hour to make up for the time I spent calling/waiting on the call center, which she did. She let me know a member of the call center would call me to confirm the time. They never did. Long story short, the Gray Hwy location and it's employees are great, and the call center needs some serious work.

We reserved a U-Haul for 24 hours for certain pick up time and as life happens sometimes we were late picking it up we called to update the pickup time but they would not change it so we still had to pay for 24 hours but had to bring the vehicle back even though we didn't technically have it for 24 hours not cool U-Haul pretty shity actually!

I cannot say enough about the kindness, helpfulness, and service that we were provided. We were Hurricane Irma evacuees and needed a hitch and cargo carrier installed to haul gas cans to return home. On a Saturday with no appt. Lakeza located the hitch for us at another location and allowed us to pick it up and bring it back for a last minute installation. She remained overtime while Roderick installed the hitch and Tamarcus assembled the cargo carrier. This was a team effort. We are thankful for the kindness of these employees and overwhelmed by the Macon hospitality and caring.

The truck was infested with roaches. The roaches get in my stuff and now I have German Roaches in my new house. When I told the service attendants all I got was an oh well attitude. Pest control is going to cost around $250. I will never rent from uhaul again.

The reason I did not rate this location higher was not due to the personnel inside the store that actually helped me with the contract. It was due to the person who actually hooked the trailer up to my vehicle. The trailer hook up is meant to be hand tightened ONLY. This individual used a wrench to tighten it, which caused us trouble disconnecting it when we returned it after hours. The connection is meant to be tightened by hand ONLY. We had to use a wrench and then move our vehicle back and forth until it finally would disengage the connection on the trailer from our ball hitch. UHAUL needs to insure their personnel are properly trained in how to hook up trailers to customer's personal vehicles.

I was pleased with the price and availability on short notice. Wish there was a little smaller sized truck but was surprisingly easy to drive for this 62 year old female. You could use a bit more parking space at the store and stay open until 6 or 7 pm would be less hectic to get back from moving.

The only problems we had were lack of the equipment we needed...we wanted a van, they are not available for one way rentals. We reserved the smallest possible truck but it wasn't returned on time so wasn't available either. The larger truck we were given came with higher operating costs and was just silly for the what we had to move. We had a 15' truck with 3' of contents - one layer deep. U-Haul needs to find a way to accommodate customers with smaller hauling needs. Good people at both locations but we had a miscommunication about the costs. We were told we would be charged less if we returned the truck early. Not true. A one way rental is a flat fee. Don't rush to get it back a day or two early.

Not sure what happened but we were charged twice for this rental - the first was correct and for approx $130. The second however was incorrect and ridiculous - $868. This amount is still on my card so apparently the receiving UHaul place hasn't figured out yet that they need to remove the charge, and then figure out what happened. I will reverse the charge from my card as soon as it clears. But this is terrible.

First off, I had to wait 30 minutes even using express checkout online because of a customer who was in front of me and one who was allowed to cut in front of me. I never understand why businesses have only one employee working especially during busy hours. Then I get my truck and notice after loading everything, there are literally ants everywhere in the cab, all along the seatbelt column which prevented me from wearing it until i stopped and bought some ant spray. And of course to top it off, the door latch on the back got stuck so I ended having to call roadside assistance to pry it loose which delayed my trip by an hour. By far my worst experience with U-haul.

Stated would NOT release tighten straps on front tires, which I was not strong enough to release, without a "charge". Stated would NOT pull down ramps on car transport without a "charge" - this I did do. I am 61.

Don't park the vehicle ON THE SIDEWALK to inspect. I am not going to stand out in the street to be run over to check for damage. For the size, pickup, it was really priced at about a larger moving truck.

I was very disappointed that I had to drive pass 2-3 U-hauls locations to get to my drop off location. Then told I was 50+ miles over my milage limit. Very deceiving & slick, way to get the miles up. The 26 foot truck was not available when promised. On my initial reservation it appeared that the truck would be available after 7:00 am. Two days before pick up it was changed by the corporate reservation system to 9:00 am. When I arrived at 8:30 am on Saturday morning it was not in. The office staff called the person who had the vehicle and tried to find out when she would be turning the vehicle in. I was told to come back around 11:00 am and I returned at 11:30 am to find that the truck was still not back. The office staff again called the person who had the truck. The truck was finally returned after 1:00 pm and I left the site around 1:20 pm. This staff tried their best but could not provide another vehicle. The office did reduce my fees by some $50. They were very polite to the lady that turned in the vehicle over a day late even though she was very rude. This delay cost me the help of people to load the truck, made the few remaining folks (my family) to work through the heat of the day, and arrive in Ludowici after 1:00 am Sunday morning. I have nothing but good things to say about the local staff in Macon but your central reservations need to do a lot better to serve its customers. Either a truck is available or it is not available. People work on schedules - this was the weekend I had to be out of my home in Macon - there was no other choice without paying an additional months rental. There was another 26 footer on site but was told it could only be used for local moving.

After renting the 20ft uhaul, we drove the vehicle maybe 30 mins away when a tire on the left side ripped apart and threw the treads all over the highway. The debris almost caused a wreck behind us and it was difficult to maintain control of the vehicle for a few moments. We were stuck at a gas station for several hours trying to request help from uhaul.com/help. No one would answer the customer service line or the roadside assistance line either. Luckily, the manager of this uhaul location happened to stop at the same gas station and saw us. Her name was Lakeza Singleton. She was very helpful and helped us get ahold of someone to fix the tire. The mechanic who helped us was fast and efficient. He is good at what he does. I think the two people listed above should be commended, and the person who inspected my uhaul beforehand should be fired. Uhaul should also not use re-tread tires on these vehicles. I know its cheaper, but its also dangerous. Re-treads are notorious for coming apart. Dont be cheap uhaul buy good tires, it could save a life

Location was professional and courteous. However, I received a message while on highway for my return trip. Message said I was late returning vehicle. I called Customer Service to explain I was not due back til midnight on June 15. Customer service informed me it was due back at noon. In looking at contract agent at location had entered 12:00 p.m. Instead of a.m. My call was dropped during my first contact. I called again and explained issue to another CSR who put me on hold to get a manager. About 10 minutes later, I don't believe I am exaggerating, a third CSR picked up phone so I explained the situation a third time. This CSR PUT ME ON HOLD while she conferred with traffic. After a further 5 minute wait she came back and informed me I would be charged an additional day. When I protested she advised me to talk to the manager at the location. I was very displeased with how your CSR's handled this situation. They should have authority for at least the $20 in this case to make the decision to make a customer satisfied. As it turned out the location did not charge the extra day. I wasted about 30 minutes and experienced much frustration. UHaul can do better.

The sales representative called me thirty minutes fifteen minutes before time for me to pick up my rental and said the truck was not available for the time I requested. I went to get clarification and she then stated she had one available because another customer was returning theirs early. She gave me a truck that should be serviced and was damaged badly.

My appliance dolly was not available at the pick up location. Inhale to drive to two other locations before I could start moving. It as me back am hour on move time. All of the staff at every location I visited was very kind and helpful however. I've also already called customer service about my issue and it is being resolved. I was just about right at half a tank of gas and I was still charged $12 for probably 1 squeeze of the gas handle to put it back to half. I spent 14 hrs driving spent about $200 already in gas and got charged another $12 for being just a smidget from half a tank. I won't use uhaul again

I rented this truck at the mercer location in macon ga, went to pick it up and it was not there was then rerouted to another location in macon ga. My original reservation was from 5/27-5/29 after arriving at the other location it was changed to one day so when I went to return I was charged an additional day. I will never use uhaul for my rental needs and I will make sure I do not refer uhaul to anyone else idea rather pay a few extra dollars to your competitors just to make sure I get exactly what I want.

I have a problem with customer service at the main office. I called with a complaint about my truck and they were suppose to give my message to a manager but that never happened. I don't have a problem with the actual store just the main customer service 1-800 number.

Staff was excellent! The truck I was loaned was very good across the board except for one area. The ramp would not push in smooth at all. It would take 3 to 5 minutes to wiggle it, and slide it into the truck. It took two men to get it to go in. This may not seem like a huge deal, but in the GA heat, and after the truck is loaded/unloaded the last thing you want to deal with is a ramp that gives you major problems. We made about three back and forth trips so there were several times when we had to deal with the ramp. I meant to get this review in sooner so we could catch it before the next customer went through the same ordeal. Thank you so much.....

master cylinder leaded due to stripped cap and loss of brake fluid; Roadside replaced cap & filled master cylinder Next morning discovered right rear tail lamp faulty- no turn signal or brake lamp functions. Poor inspection by dealer prior to trailer rental. Roadside requested change out trailer load and I refused as hired moving van and workers to unload trailer and load moving van. Impractical for me to drive across town, unload trailer and reload into another 6x12.

Sirs: I originally rented two Dolly’s and 1 dozen pads from U-Haul in Macon GA. I returned 1 Dolly (I did not use it at all) and 6 pads because I did not need them. The pads were never taken out of the bag they were in. When I got my final bill I was charged for 6 pads saying they were missing. I again left the pads and 1 dolly at the Macon Store. According to the Store clerk I should have been credited $15.00 for the cart and she forgot to mention the ½ dozen pads I brought back. She stated herself in a note she gave me that she was not able to adjust the final price and asked that it be adjusted on the other end. I changed my destination to Alderson WV and it was there that I dropped the ½ dozen pads that I had and the one cart I had. Instead of being credited to my account with the $15.00 she said I should get and of course the pads I didn’t use I was charged. Mind you I am not complaining. My experience with U-Haul has always been great as it was this time. Everything got confused when I took things back. I am asking that you refund me the $12.00 that was charged to me for the “missing” pads, the $15.00 for the cart I did not use and $12.00 for the pads I originally left at the Macon Store. Train the staff about the customer service and maintenance. The car dolly tie downs/ hinges were all rusty and were unable to unhook the cars front tires. Had to spray WD-40 to literally unlock those rusty tie downs.

While the specific location in Macon was perfectly fine, my overall U-Haul experience was very poor. This since to stem more from the fragmented way the company is run with each location being under a different marketing group, etc. I originally made a reservation a week in advance for a 17' truck to be picked up in Conyers, GA, in the morning and to be dropped off in Macon, GA. This reservation was made for the cost savings it afforded. I was contacted two days before the move to be told that I would not be able to pick up at the location I wanted, I would have to use a 20' truck, not 17' since those apparently do not make one way trips, and the truck would not be available till noon. This would not work at all for me, so I had to cancel that reservation and scramble to a new reservation and change my plans on how I was going to pick up the truck, who was going to drop me off, etc. I ended up picking up a 17' truck in Macon, which I would then make a round trip with. The main issue with this is the cost. A one way trip was listed as a flat rate price for the first 90 or so miles, which was plenty for my needs for a one way trip. However, if you are going to be bringing a truck back to the original location you pay a flat fee of $29.99 for a 17' truck, plus you pay $0.99 a mile. This pricing change increased my bill by over $50! And the main reason for this is that the website were I made the reservation said nothing about a 17' truck not being able to make a one way trip, nor did it alert me when I made the reservation that I wouldn't be able to pick it up till the afternoon. I talked with a number of customer service representatives from U-Haul, and no one was able to provide any sort of help or discount to make up for the hassle I had to go through. I have moved numerous times in the past and have always used U-Haul without even looking at other companies, however this experience has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will be sure to check with Budget (which is right down the street from where I picked up my truck) or Penske rental trucks before I consider U-Haul again.

I had to go find somebody to help me. When I found them the customer service was horrible. The representative didn't speak or even say "how may I help you?" He just looked at me. After setting up the service he said that he would bring the truck around to do an inspection. Being that I have rented with Uhaul before I know that the representative and customer do this together, Well he brought the truck around, walked past me did not say anything and went inside the building, I thought maybe he went to go get something that he needed so I waited. Maybe 10 minutes later I walk inside and he is setting up services for other people who had just came in. He asks if I had done the walk around yet. I told him no I was waiting on him. He proceeds to tell me I can do it without him so I did just that. The equipment and everything was good but the customer service was horrible.

The latch was worn and loose. I had to stop and repeatedly secure the doors which opened 4 times. I was lucky that I did not loose any of my property. And lucky that nothing flew out of the trailer which could have been a potential safety hazard to other drivers and a liability to UHAUL corporation. Get it fixed!!!!!

Rented a small truck. Got to moving site there was no ramp or dolly inside truck. I called customer service main # associated with this store. Representative told me it was nothing she could personally but she would forward my complaint to the manager at this location and to expect a call for resolution. I never received a call from anyone from the Gray Hwy, Macon GA store but was charged full price. Four employees standing around talking, and 1 customer in store, upon arrival and didn't inspect truck before customer drive off is unacceptable.

The U-haul they gave me was filled with roaches. One employee (not the manager) told me that all he could do was blow it out because they didn't have another one in the size I reserved. I finally got a chance to speak with the manager and he helped me by giving me another size u-haul. After all this in now 4 hours behind schedule which made me have to change other appointments. They also need more than one person assisting customers in the front of the store Hrvatski this is a popular and very busy location.
