We reserved a truck with the anytime pick up . When we got there started looking for our truck that was “staged for pick up”. It wasn’t in the designated pick up area. We finally found it in the back parked with a truck behind it, in front of it, and one to each side making it impossible to take the truck out. I called customer service and waited about 30 minutes to talk to someone. They said I could either take a 10 ft truck (we rented a 20 and needed a 20ft truck) or 50 dollars. I had only taken one day off work and we needed the truck then so waiting wasn’t an option. They finally get ahold of someone from the location who was rude and told us it would be an hour before they got there to help. When they did get there and get the truck out the equipment that we ordered wasn’t in the back so she also had to get that for us. They didn’t extend our 24 hour reservation. The return time was still 24 hours after we should have be able to pick up the truck, not the time we actually got the truck. We won’t be using U-Haul again atleast not that location.

Don't sell someone safe move unless you plan on paying for damaged property!! I paid for 80'000.00 of insurance and they didn't pay a dime!

Well the system was down when I came to pickup my truck. So instead of taking a few mins to get it. It took 2 hrs to get the truck and another hr to get a trailer. But there were tryin there best and that's what I appreciate the most.

There is a lady there named Carol and I have been doing business for years there and she is rude every time that I come in. She was very rude to me today. I do business are because of the location but if I could do it elsewhere I certainly would. Carol is rude. She has been there for years and I can't believe you haul has not gotten rid of her. She totally ignored me when I came in and then she was smart with me and raised her voice with me and I didn't do anything to cause at. Rude Carol.

There was a lock on the back. I didn't know that until I got home with the truck. I called customer service and they said they'd have a manager call me back ASAP. No one ever called. I had to drive the truck back to the store to get the lock off. I lost 3 hours of moving time that day.

With my experience I walked in trying to rent a U-Haul with no reservations was told they had none available so I went on the app which is hard to understand why I can rent on the app but not in the office I was at that location for over an hour just to rent a U-Haul. My biggest frustration was a fact they had a truck that I could rent but I had to go through the motions to rent online instead of the person at the counter rent it out to me

When installing a hitch, make sure that the hitch and wiring work with a trailer before sending a customer out the door. I didn’t find out until the morning of my move that my hitch wiring wasn’t working. Set me back 4 hours and the problem wasn’t resolved. Also make sure that the ball mount works for the car before selling it to a customer. Again, I went in and bought a ball mount per their recommendation. Come to find morning of my move that it wouldn’t work.

Horrible experience. Van smelled like urine. Could barely stand it. Called uhaul and was told no one could help me other than the location I picked it up from and I’d have to call them. Tried. Non stop. No answer. According the google reviews (a 2.4 mind you) that location is famous for horrible customer service and not answering their phones. I rent frequently for work from another location and have never had trouble. I called the corporate number back and asked if I could at least return the truck to a closer location so I didn’t have to sit in the filth but I was told no. No one could extend me even that amount of customer service. I then was given a cell phone number to the local area manager, Jared. I tried calling him but he too did not answer and his voicemail was full. So I sent him a text. He did not even respond. Then I text him asking him to please respond and let me know if he got my text and he gave me a snarky reply that he was busy and would call me back later. He never even bothered to call me back. You have lost my business forever. I can deal with the disgusting van that you rented to me but the horrible customer service on multiple levels was completely unacceptable

I cannot rate the return location, because I never had a chance to return the truck. It broke down half way through my 700 mile move, and then again after arrival at my destination. Truck was towed to the return location after I unloaded it.

We were originally scheduled to pick our Uhaul up at the Life Storage location in Mount Pleasant, SC at 4:30. There was a sign that said someone would be back at 4:45. We, along with several other customers there to pick up a Uhaul, waited for 30 minutes or more and no one ever came back to the store. We then had to update our location and pick up a Uhaul at the King Street location, which added an additional 20 miles to the mileage that we had to pay for when the Life Storage location was only 2 miles from where we were moving from and to. It was extremely frustrating to have to pay for the extra miles and completely unprofessional of the employee(s) at the Life Storage location. The service at the King Street location was great, but at that point, it had already cut almost two hours into our moving time.

The wait is always really long. We have 9AM truck rental reservations, show up at 8:45, but never seem to get through the line before 10AM. It might be helpful to process those with reservations SEPARATELY from the walk ins and those their for boxes or propane.

Same excellent service at the King St location for the past 12 years. They make moving easy Very difficult to contact agents to resolve an issue with pickup location that is no longer in operation. The web site does not do what the recorded message states so calling was only option. Had to talk to one rep to change location then a different rep to schedule pick up Web site was not updated for actual locations and allowed me to select one that had clients sed with no notification from uhaul after it was booked and scheduled and booking number received. If i had not checked before the reservation date, i would have been out if luck. Poor systems integration and data updates that make the customer suffer.

They charged us $30 for refueling fee PLUS $14 for gas. We brought it back with the fuel gauge EXACTLY where we took it out!

This location is the worst - literally every time I’m forced to go there people are rude and they don’t give a damn about the customers. Zero customer satisfaction, and I even Pre-checked in I tried to do my pickup out of West Ashley but that location was closed. (Please update the U-haul system)

The U-Haul staff was some of the rudest and most inattentive I've ever experienced. I waited 10 minutes while the main checking agent had a personal conversation, and then she was on her phone while talking to me. Then you present your unbelievable 30% full gas tank and an upcharge if it's brought back under 25%. It appears that your company is run by evil accountants that have no idea how to run an actual business that is built on integrity. Will never be renting from you again if I can help it.

I signed up for a 2 day rental, as I had dropped it off at 4:30 on the day i rented it, i expected to just be charged for one day. Instead the check in claims i dropped it off at 12:38 on the second day. As such i was charged the full rate. If this was your policy then it should have been disclosed up front

Everything is done so well, I honestly can't think of any way to make improvement. Of course, equipment maintenance will never be perfect in the real world. Just to let you know, the particular trailer I rented needs the door lubricated. It goes up and down with some difficulty.

The return area and the store front are not well planned. The whole footprint of this location could be better designed for returning vehicles. Inside the store is also a bit odd, since you walk in and have to immediately go left, then right and right again to enter the selling part of the store. Overall, I thought the staff did a good job. I brought back 12 crates in a pouring rain and was left almost to my own devices to get them in the store. There was no good place to do this. It would have been nice to have a covered area and it would have been nice to have received a little help. I can also understand that the employees were having to be out in the rain to both handover and accept retuning vehicles. There were several coming in and out and the one car port area(no sides) was not very good in the absolute downpour. Poor facility design!

I rented a truck, but actually need a trailer. When my stepfather went back and had a light connection installed the installer made a error and caused battery to drain. Instead of fixing the issue they became defensive and hostile to my step father. I paid to have a light connection for a trailer, but when the installer made a error that made the car not start and have to be jumped they were combative and not helpful. I will NEVER use U-Haul again. Unexcusible.

I walked past her giving another customer help; she could easily have said "I will be right with you sir" , but instead allowed me to walk into the store where I was headed to a coworker, then, with my back turned to her, she called me back out of store to help me.

I reserved a 10’ truck at this location in April but was told a couple days before pick up that they didn’t have the size I reserved. They gave me a 20’ truck that was way too big for my needs. It was difficult to drive and cost me more in gas. I don’t believe I will rent from uhaul again.

My truck was 25 minutes late. The uhaul employee was rude and non communicative. She handed my my paper and did not show me to my truck. The appliance dolly and mattress bag I ordered weren’t in the truck. Lastly, the trucks steering alignment is so off it’s borderline dangerous to drive.

The system took over 20 minutes to send me a text message for reviewing the truck and upon return took 45 minutes to get logged on so that I could return the truck. When I initially logged on, the rental was not even listed under my account. Very slow automated process for pickup and return using phone. Very dissatisfied with uhaul operating system.

Be honest, don't try to scam people into using services that are more expensive than implied and most importantly, don't last minute change a drop off location that requires an hour and a half drive as opposed to the 10 minute drive that I originally allotted my schedule for.

The original location Life Storage in Mt. Pleasant was unexpectedly closed when I arrived for pick up, thankfully this location was open and customer service was able to transfer my reservation. They did not inform corporate they were going to be closed, according to customer service, and left many customers high and dry.

The size of the truck is deceiving. You advertise your trucks based on the length of the box and over cab section, not the true usable space of the box itself. My 15’ truck was only 12’ of usable space. Also you do not give a choice when using a truck with a dolly inside purposefully placed at the end of the truck taking up valuable space. Cutting the little tab would have cost me $7. That is a cheap and untrustworthy way of squeezing money out of people. I couldn’t use the full length of that side today because of that dolly. It makes me want to cancel my larger reservation in two weeks and not use uhaul again.

Employees should double check everything is there and working before sending a truck off with a customer. After loading up the truck with all of our belongings and locking the padlock, we drove to our destination only to get there, ready to move in and the keys provided on the key ring would not open the padlock on the back of the truck. I called the u haul location where we rented it from and sat on hold for a while. We had a small window in which we could move in at our new apartment because someone else had to move in and use the loading dock/service elevator after us. We had to drive the moving truck all the way back to u haul so they could get a key and unlock it, then drive all the way back to the new apartment. The employees showed no remorse.

Mike was the ONLY employee that I wanted to deal with - All others parked cars in front of the units(and in handicap)leaving no spaces although we asked them politely not to. This is why we left.
