The guys who work outside with the trucks and handle the pick up/drop off were excellent. The van I used was also in great shape and clean. However, the customer service inside was practically nonexistent. When we first arrived to pick up the van, the lady inside changed our rental agreement after talking with us and what our plans were. Which resulted in me receiving a phone call during my wedding about the return of the van. The lady was extremely rude over the phone and made sure to explain to me that 24 hours is one day....I mean really? I told her that I understood that we would be responsible for a two day charge and never tried to argue the charge. I only tried to explain that the lady at the front had changed the return time. After giving her an approximate return time, I was practically hung up on. Again, there were no issues when returning the van to the guys outside.

I am sorry but this rating is not for king street. Uhaul will not allow you to rate the stores you were suppose to drop off at or their company in general. Policy of drop off not guaranteed cost me 2 hour trip vs 1 mile from house, in the mountains...cashier,NC store refused to accept knowing the trip to Otto, NC was 50 min one way. Until they allow drop offs where YOU choose I will no longer use U-Haul or recommend them.

Super easy when using the check-in process online. Upon return, we were meat in the lot and by the time we arrived home, had our adjusted receipt. I also like the access is easy from Mt. Pleasant.

The trucks are difficult to enter and exit for the physically challenged. The drivers seat does not adjust to comfortably accommodate a short driver. This survey should also ask what you did right. Your check in clerk Tanya is what you did well. She was pleasant and most thoughtful.

Rented a trailer from downtown Charleston SC. Office manager incredible nice and very professional. Guys out in the yard where just as nice. Hook up my trailer for me so I'll I had to do is drive off. Very good experience.

My review is late, but I've never been disappointed with U-Haul. The pricing on various size trucks and equipment Etc have always been vey fair. I highly recommend U-Haul. I just had to teach my son who picked up and dropped off the truck, not to go home first before dropping off/returning the truck, as the bill was higher than quoted. LOL

This location was fine in terms of the space, and the staff was incredibly helpful. It was very frustrating to come to this location because our pick up location was changed 3 times, and was not the original booking location. The staff here notified us the location in which we originally booked was no longer open for business, which was really frustrating.

I MUST say the two kind ladies who helped me pick up boxes the week prior to my move were beyond bragging over. They were funny, personable & helpful. The customer service gentleman I spoke with a couple times over the phone was honestly perfect. He was patient, kind & didn't mind in the slightest I needed to change my reservation. The day I picked up the truck the employee working was sadly not pleasant. Her customer service was abrupt & short. There wasn't a key for the storage where all the dolly's were kept, she asked me if I was okay with not having them after I paid. I politely stated that yes I did, “I'm moving over 1200 miles... I need them”. She proceeded to walk outside with a hammer and repeatedly smash the lock off. Then turned and looked at me stating “ can you just get it yourself?” I had to climb the fence and grab what I could reach. I ended up getting a dolly that wasn't for appliances, but simply accepted it to keep her calm. Then she gave me a store 4 wheel dolly in replacement for the actual one I had requested. Then before I turned back around to ask where the moving blankets were she was gone. At the drop off location I'm delighted to say I was met with two friendly employees who greeted me & also asked how my long drive was. Perhaps it was good service, but after 2 days of driving, it quietly made me feel special.

The Charleston folks were cheerful and extremely helpful; they had the equipment disconnected and inspected BEFORE I could get out of my car. During these politically charged times, your personnel reflected highly upon your team and organization. Thank you for their respect and cheerfulness.

When I dropped off the trailer, the two gentlemen were very nice and polite disconnected it and told me I was good to go. When I got home I realized that the electrical wires for the lights were still hanging out of the back of my car. They were not hitting the ground or being damaged but I believe they should've said “if you open your hatch we could put these back in for you”.

The guy that checked in the equipment was fast, efficient, and very cool. He was slammed with work, but got the UHaul return checked in and confirmation of receipt in about 1 minute. Great job!

The on line process is not easy. Not impressed but the staff helped me so grateful for that. The key return slot needs to be better marked. Hard to find at night. There is a sign on a window but the on line told me to look for a orange box that did not exist

The moving help is misrepresented on the website: The advertised fee for the movers do not provide packing of your items in boxes, or provide packing materials. It only covers moving your packed items from their original location into the U-Box. I needed someone to actually pack my items into boxes. Also, delivery of the U-box appears to be solely up to the destination U-Haul location. Specifying a preferred delivery date NOT acceptable to my destination U-Haul office. The delivery process was definitely NOT customer friendly, which was very frustrating!!

I think the fuel surcharge is a RIP off. I drove 29 miles, based on the truck mileage sensor it was getting 8 miles to the gallon so it should have used less than four gallons of gas. I put ten dollars in the tank which was five gallons. I get back to the facility and the guy charges me another $13 for fuel. Either you are charging scalpers prices for fuel or your trucks are getting two miles per gallon. I did find it interesting that the guy who checked me in said lots of people have been complaining about the fuel charges.

Good location and convenient. Felt secure and met my needs for the time. Not sure why, but all the staff seem to be miserable working there. Not friendly at all. Also, the recurring payment choice never worked, and each month I had to call and hope they would remove late fee.

This is the only place that I know of that charges twice as much than anyone else to store items in a flood plain, Of course there is no grace period for paying the rent, even if you can’t get to the storage area due to a flood. Just out of curiosity, if the storage area were flooded and stayed flooded for 6 months straight, would you still charge rent for those six months during which our items were under water? I will not be back and neither will anyone that I speak with.

There need to be trash cans more centrally located within the Uhaul storage area itself, the fact that we had to walk all the way around the entire building to get to the dumpster was extremely time consuming and ill-efficient. Clearly others feel the same way because there was constantly trash strewn through out the corridors. There is always a super long line in the customer service area and oftentimes associates who are unwilling and uninterested in helping whatsoever. On several occasions we had issues with Carol, who was not only demeaning, and apathetic but has the customer service ability of a dirty diaper. Sadly enough, she is the Manager or Owner!! As the highest on payroll she deserves a severe demotion and someone else needs to run that place. The only thing this place has going for it is its location and proximity to downtown. That and theres a young man who works there named TJ who is the diamond in the rough at that place. He works mostly outside, in the heat, helping to return and clean out the Uhauls. Our interaction with him was the only positive experience we can glean from patronizing with this Uhaul. He deserves a raise and a promotion for maintaining a positive attitude, being helpful, dilligent, willing to go above and beyond for the customer, all amidst clearly poor conditions and management that he has to work with. I hope his spirit doesnt get broken by the terrible attitudes of his colleagues and I hope UHAUL as a company regonizes his hard work and enacts stricter guidelines for the rude "managment" and "Customer service" agent you all have employed there.

Mike was the ONLY employee that I wanted to deal with - All others parked cars in front of the units(and in handicap)leaving no spaces although we asked them politely not to. This is why we left.
