Hi, I am with a nonprofit organization, Biking for Books, and I had an event on the morning of 9/30 that required me to rent a UHAUL to ship necessary items for my event. My Uhaul contract number is 94326920. I made a call on the evening of 9/29 to make a reservation for a truck at the Overland, MO location. The reservationist on the phone knew that I needed the truck the entire day on 9/30 and also knew that I would only be able to return my rental on the evening of 9/30. When I got to the Overland location the manager told me that the reservationist on the call made a mistake and promised me a vehicle for the entire day of 9/30 when there were no vehicles available the whole day. By the time the manager realized this all other uhaul locations in the area had closed and I was forced to take the one rental available that evening; ship everything in the early morning of 9/30; making me late for my own event, so that I could bring it back by 8 a.m. I am extremely dissatisfied with the reservation process because I was promised something you could not deliver and that is unacceptable. I do not fault the manager, but the person booking the reservation on the phone. It is irresponsible to not provide the correct return times to your customers, it literally kept me away from my own event put on by a nonprofit organization that I founded. A young woman connected the trailer. Being unable to lift the tongue she used a device to help her. She was too short to reach the handle easily and lost control at one point scratching my bumper. She tried hard but is physically unable to use the apparatus.

We appreciate the Uhaul system and the coordination between equipment and supplies makes for great convenience at a reasonable price.

No one from the company can give me a specific itemized breakdown of what we were charged for. This seems extremely sketchy. I believe we were over charged for our monthly box rentals. Several charges went through during the course of our box rental that did not amount to any rates for charges we were quoted. I discussed this with both the St. Louis office and the main Uhaul customer service line. Neither could explain the charges. I was hoping when it was done we would recieve an itemized bill but did not. My online account was also no help in this. I would like to receive a list of exactly what we were charged for. I can't think of any business where you do not receive an itemized receipt on completion of sale. Due to this I would not recommend Uhaul box to others and would not reuse your services. This is unfortunate since your staff was friendly and helpful and we will be moving again this coming spring.- Julia Politte

My only issue with Uhaul was thinking that your renting close to your home and them calling saying you have to pick up 25 mins away because someone bumped your reservation, so we had to change what we got which I was not happy about in order to pick up near my house.Other than that ,everything else was good,they were very helpful.

The main issue we had is that the pick up location couldn't see the supplies we ordered such as pads and boxes and such. I assumed this would be ready for pick up and they would have the inventory. Wheny husband picked up the truck he didn't know what supplies I had ordered and they never gave us a few items which we paid for but never received. When we asked if we had can have a refund on items we didn't get we were told no since it's after the fact. I intend to call and get some of the items refunded via customer services. I highly suggest you figure this out in your systems if you are going to offer your customers the option to buy online otherwise don't even offer it

When we picked up the trailer we tested the lights and one of the break and turn lights was not working. The manager was helpful, tried to change the bulb, but when nothing worked he ultimately he gave us another trailer that worked very well for our trip

I rented a truck and went to the preferred pick up location and they told me that the truck I wanted was located at another location about five miles away. I was NEVER contacted by anyone that the pick up location was changed. They also put me in a much larger truck than I had contracted for (at the same price) which was difficult to maneuver. This experience completely soured me on UHaul and I will likely never use the service again as it appears you don't care at all for your customers.

The person that handled my order was fairly nice, but lacked in communication. She never remembered my own case and always had to look it up. I had to communicate with her about urgent pick ups and she also asked to put my box at my home in the street and the police came and said that I needed a permit or it needed to be picked up and gone immediately. I also ordered 2 boxes and 2 locks, and did not receive any locks. Not only that one of the latches on the boxes was broken. So i had to buy my own lock for one of the boxes, and i had a box that i couldn't even use because i had to have this box in my new location immediately. I called the person handling my order and she made sure that i was handled. Then my box was delivered LATE by 4 days and not only that but the person that delivered my box crushed the box into the side of my apartment building, damaged trees and I had constant calls from my landlord about removal of the box immediately. I was also threatened with charges of the tree damages. Overall this was the worst experience I have ever seen. I called the person from Uhaul that was handling my order, and I told her that the box needed to be removed from the property immediately and she said she would handle it and call me back and never called me back ever. I had multiple calls from my landlords of them complaining about the box. I am seriously so disappointed in Uhaul and I am seriously disappointed in the service I have recieved. Don't get me wrong the person that dropped off my box was very nice, but the late delivery and the damage of the trees was such a bigger mess than it needed to be. I surely hope that Uhaul does better quality control and works on their communication issues. This has been ridiculous and I surely will not be using Uhaul ever again.

The truck I rented had some type of alignment problem. As I was driving down the interstate the truck would drift on its own from side to side. I would have to constantly make steering adjustments to compensate for the trucks drifting. I'm sure if a cop had been behind me he would have pulled me over thinking I was drunk. The problem made it difficult to drive and very taxing on the driver.

Not related to this location - did not receive notice that our pickup had changed locations until I called to confirm our reservation because I noticed an error in the reservation. Had several conversations with Uhaul the day before - the last person I spoke with was relatively snarky and rude although the representatives I spoke with prior to her were fine. Had I not called about the error I identified, I would not have known until the morning of that the truck I needed had been switched to a different location. Not great when combined with the snarky person on the phone.

I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful; especially, Kenny Kramer, the manager of the location. When I rented the truck there was a computer problem and ultimately led me to being charged twice. This has been frustrating and stressful not to mention extremely inconvenient. Kenny has helped try and get it straightened out. I am still waiting on reimbursement from Uhaul so I'm unhappy with corporate not with this location.

Tell the truth about the rental cost. The $19.95 per day shown on your trucks is misleading. You know as well as I do that there are additional 69 cent per mile added to the rental. Your advertising should read $19.95 per day plus 69 cents per mile. Figure doesn't include taxes and other fees. I paid $61 for four hours which I thought would be closer to the $19.95. Not good, although the customer service team was great. Quit misleading.

Send customers to the location nearest them and not try to send them miles away just to increase the bill. I ended up paying 46 plus dollars for a one hour trip when there were 4 locations close to me. My trip was in my area but drvimg 15 miles away sent my bill up I could have hired a mover for 35 dollars

Advise them when the pick up date of the containers has been delayed which could potentially delay the delivery of the boxes. I was told (after being transferred nearly 35 times in the course of 15 phone calls to Customer Service - NO JOKE) that containers typically don't take the full estimated delivery time. A phone call advising me of that from the Page location would have been really nice. And letting me know the new estimated arrival date. I had movers scheduled and people need to know these changes to make plans. Shane at the Page location was great to work with but the other girl I dealt with there dropped the ball in changing the number of containers I had reserved. Uhaul's main Customer Service area is a joke. Long, long hold times (no matter when you call) and I cannot even tell you how many times I was transferred (half the time to the incorrect area!!) or disconnected when someone picked up only to have to call back and wait again. The Customer Service area made this whole moving out of state experience a nightmare. Truly a nightmare. The lack of ownership that the assocoates take is ridiculous. Thenjoy the change to the shipping dates of the containers about gave me a mini heart attack. My items got here safely and before the guaranteed date, but the experience to plan it all will make me NOT recommend Uhaul storage containers!!

My bill was higher than my online quote they had to refund me almost $100 to my debit card. When I picked up my truck the power lock and power door lock on one side would not work. I spoke to the manager about this and he suggested it might be a fuse blow. I now have to pay Nissan $109 just to look at my vehicle to tell me which fuse is blown. I also got home and notice that my ball and pin was not in the car or attached. I had to drive back to UHaul and explain that it's not there although the manager was very apologetic, I still have one more issue. Driving home I notice a click sound every time I make a right turn. I going back there today to see if they will fix my problem.

When I stopped in to drop the trailer off, David Skinker seemed more interested in talking with a friend than directing me on where to go. He then instructed me to park the trailer where I could find a spot, offering no real direction. In fact, I had no one to guide me into a spot. I'm sure that you are aware that backing a trailer into a spot, without any help, is not the easiest thing to do. After I was finished, he came out to unhook it. Then, went back to talking with a friend. About 20 minutes later, I received and additional bill for an "extra day". I pulled the trailer off the Kingshighway lot and had it back at the Page lot right at 24 hours. But, I guess I should have compensated for the time I stood around waiting at Kingshighway and Page. Needless to say, I will not be using your services during my move this Winter, or ever.

I had a horrible experience but it was not the stores fault. I reserved a uhaul online for Saturday 5/27 originally right by my house. Had a call center lady call me and tell me the only uhaul place I can pick the uhaul from was in overland 30 minutes away from me. Come to find out that she lied to me there we're 10 uhaul available at the place where I originally was going to pick up at. I told the store what happened and they took care of EVERYTHING! This lady I talked to should be FIRED! Because it should have cost me 130$ if it wasn't for this store being so understanding about what happened! This all excellent people!

When I rented the trailer I was told that it would accommodate a queen size mattress and box spring. When in reality the trailers rear door will not even allow a full size box spring to be loaded, even diagonally. It was not feasible at the time to look for another trailer so I had to lash the box spring to the roof of my vehicle in order to get it home. Hight, width and diagonal measurements of the cargo door placed in the trailer description on the Web page would be very helpful to many people such as myself.

Using a Corporate Certificate should be input as Prepaid and not a hold put on my credit card. This was a donation from U-Haul for the Nonprofit and I was the volunteer picking up the van. It would have nice to just put it as Prepaid and then charge my card if it was any overages. Other than that everything went smoothly and I felt proud riding in a U-Haul van. Megan assisted us. Upon returning the truck she came to our car to hand us the wallet my fiance' left in the cup holder. She was very expressive about "thanking her" because she found it. My fiance' even gave her a tip. As we were leaving the lot, he had the intuiton to check his wallet, which is a 2 fold wallet (impossible for a single bill to fall out without all of it coming out). He was missing a $100 bill out of 2 hundreds and 4, $20 bills. When we questioned Megan she became suspiciously nervous, blaming the other passenger of the truck when the wallet had been in my fiance' eyesight until the truck was turned in. As she noticed that we knew that the money was in the wallet when we arrived Megan insisted that we left her recheck the truck. We sat in the car, and I watched as she walked over to the truck which had been pulled forward and went into her clothing and IMMEDIATE CAME BACK WITH THE $100 BILL! AND THE ONLY THING HER ASSOCIATE HAD TO SAY TO MY FIANCE WAS "WELL YOU GOT THE MONEY BACK DIDN'T YOU?" Megans eyes started watering and she could barely light her cigarette from shaking and when I looked at her she walked off to make a phone call and starting crying when we said we were calling corporate. THIEVES AND CROOKS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF THEIR HORRIBLE ETHICS. Everyone knew she stole the money and no one even simply apologized!!

First, they made my reservation for "in town" after I told them I would be driving 200 miles away and dropping off. So they quoted me for a 250 mile in town trip, for a truck that was not available for one way use. I later found out not only did I need to go to a bigger truck for 1 way use, I also had to pay 2 days rental and insurance even though I had the truck for less than 24 hours. When I attempted to drop off the truck, it was discovered that they had charged me for a utility dolly that I did not request nor receive, and they had incorrectly noted the level of the fuel gauge. They had also sold me extra packing materials, which they assured me I could return if I didn't use. I was not able to return the unopened package because they did not give me a receipt. Horrible experience and it's truly a shame how incompetent they were.

Experience was fantastic. While I was doing the paperwork, a female employee took my truck keys, hooked up my trailer and brought it up front. She got the hitch out of the rear, and the light adapter plug out of glovebox and had everything ready before I had paperwork done. New experience for me no one has done that in the past.

I had to drive the truck for 9 hrs at night and something was bad out of balance on wheels or something. At the speeds of 60 to 70 it would all shake so bad that my side view mirror, which was shook loose because of this problem would shake so violently that it was not only almost unuseable, but made all headlights coming around me all night seem like strobe lights....There was about three inches of play in the steering wheel.. I cleaned it up, gassed it up and dropped it off at the Gadsden AL location. I was going to just drop off and not complain about my experience with it, until the person running the center was so rude with me. So then I told him about my experience and he simply passed the blame to the service center...

My experience with renting with U-Haul was excellent. Convenient, fair price, worked well for my job. The only negative comment I might have: though I didn't have any problems with the truck I rented, (and it was very clean and comfortable), the engine sounded and felt like it was about to die. (I can't say that the truck felt well-maintained.) But otherwise, I was very happy.

I'm 62 years old and moved into my first apartment at 20 years old. We used U-Haul then and have continued to use them for over 40 years. U-Haul trucks are clean, dependable and there is a size to fit every need. The staff are always professional, friendly and so helpful. My experience was one I NEVER want to experience again. The problem is not with either the pick up or drop off location. It's with the online service and the ones who decides where to send you to pick up and drop off. !. When I chose the location I wanted to pick up the truck and reserved the truck, I was NOT informed in any way, that the truck I was reserving was NOT at the location I chose. Had I NOT called when I was leaving my home to confirm that I was traveling, I wouldn't have known there was no truck for me. The person I called at the 1-800-xxx-xxxx told me that I would have to go to a different place for pick up. According to her, is was just a few miles. I ended up going almost 100 miles one way, which could have been shortened to about 76 miles. Had I been sent to Bethalto or Alton, IL instead of Breese, I could have saved time and gas. It put me about 11/2 hours behind schedule. THEN...on the drop portion, I was set up to deliver at a place on Dorsett in St. Louis, after putting in the area where I was needing to unload. This was right at 7.5 miles from where I unloaded. When I was enroute to drop off the truck, TWO BLOCKS from the address I had put in as where I was done, there was the HUGE U-HAUL station on Page. So I called again, and was able to drop the truck off there. Your location program, or whatever it is you use to determine where to pick up and deliver leaves MUCH to be desired. I will definitely do more research about locations before I leave my fate in U-HAULS clutches. I might even look for a different company.

I gave a below average because I was charged for an extra mile that I did not use and I made them aware of the mileage difference before I even drove off! It was only .69 but if you keep charging each customer .69 over daily, I can only imagine how much more revenue that's creating for the company!
