There was no clue I had a dolly and pads reserved. I got the dolly because I asked for but I forgot to get the pads and no one looked that. The lines need attention, every time we have to go out to open the lock or come back to ask for help we would need to enter the line again.

I don’t have an issue with this location. However, the 1st ave Starage in Seattle location I will NEVER entertain renting from again. I rented the truck for 9am and they were not open when I arrived. I had to call customer service who were absolutely wretched to deal with. They managed to get my reservation transferred over to this new location listed, but overall this was an awful experience trying to get a truck rented.

I forgot to mention to the agent when I dropped off the van, the turn signal indicator in the cab of the van is kinda wonky. The lights themselves seem to still work.

One-way flow through lot is not that clearly marked and was a bit of a maze. Otherwise the staff was outstanding and everything was easy and butter smooth.

The van we rented had been smoked in heavily, and clearly no attempt was made to clean the smell, I told the counter clerk that I thought that the windshield defroster was malfunctioning, as it seemed the windows were foggy, nope, just covered in second hand smoke. She indicated that she knew the van had been smoked in, and that she had “sprayed” the interior several times. Unfortunately, on my way out I witnessed an employee climb into said van to move it... with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

As directed, we filled the gas tank to 1/4 before returning. The gas gauge clearly said 1/4 at the gas station. When we returned the truck, nothing was said to us about the gas. I asked for a copy of the receipt (I don't always get the receipt because we have an account and the receipt is emailed to us). However, I needed to invoice immediately so waited for a receipt. I was charged an extra $35 as was told gas was not at 1/4. After some discussion about this and showing our gas receipt, we were told that it was under 1/4 and that was that. So, we said we would drive it 2 blocks and add more gas. However, we were not able to do that because they said the truck was already returned and they would have to "rent" it back out to us. After more discussion, Sean advised me that he would back out the $35 in addition to an incorrect charge of $7 for hardtruck rental, that he would do that and call me before closing time at 7:00 to confirm. I received a voice message some 45 minutes later. Sean advised me that he went out to the truck and saw that it was under 1/4 tank so could not refund me. I would never have left had I known he was not going to honor his statement. We frequently rent U-hauls, and in fact had rented one just the day before. We know the ropes when it comes to filling the tank and returning the truck. We always return the trucks clean and often even purchase additional boxes and other items in the store. I am more than displeased with the way we were treated and would appreciate a return phone call.

Would be helpful if the CS rep came out to the car to check it for damage, vs. making me do it and then come back. Seemed a bit like I was working there. But no big deal, they were very helpful and they seemed genuinely interested helping.

There is no assignated customer parking. Customers get yelled at because they have to guess where to park. I also was told the price to rent an AT trailer was $118 and was not told about the hidden fees. I ended up spending more than expected. The personal was friendly thought.

Problem was I got a call from U-Haul telling me that the only dropoff place to return the truck was this location. It was NOT the location i originally picked and this took me out of my way to drop it off. Very upset about this. I even asked if there was a place I could drop the truck off in Ballard, which there were plenty of empty spots for the truck and she still said no. Not happy

When I got there my app would not open my rental because the van info was not put in on my rental. I went inside to inquire about it and your employee Maria (the person inside ) carried her PERSONAL phone conversation with me standing there, (at least 3 mins) telling me to wait until she was done with her PERSONAL phone call, then said because I was EARLY for my rental I needed to wait for the van to return. I went outside and there was another van just sitting there , when I asked another employee about it, this young male then assisted with my Rental, Maria then came outside smoking a cigarette and said oh just link the van info in her rental so she can complete her rental ( to the young man helping me).The van I rented has an stained driver seat and malodorous smell. Overall, I will not return to this location.

The attendant did a great job.At the time of my pick up, the counter was busy and he was solo. He made everyone feel comfortable during the process of trying to get people out the door as quickly as possible.

The employees at rainier valley location are over worked and under appreciated. They did not have adequate staffing to serve all customers in a time sensitive manner. It was easy to tell how frustrated they were but they remained kind. As for corporate UHaul we were absolutely disgusted with the lack of customer service. We had numerous issues and none of them were resolved in a positive manner. A $50 stipend does not cover the FIVE HOURS the day before thanksgiving that we spent outside in the cold wisconsin weather fixing your mistake... on the day before thanksgiving. We had not been home in an entire year due to military service, and this completely ruined an entire day we had planned to spend with family. We have alerted our vast amount of military family contacts (a group containing thousands of military wives) of our story and not to use your service. We know we are not the only ones who are having such issues. While we were at the uhaul location we heard endless other customer complaints... none of which were the employees fault. Get better at making things right for your customers.

A door sensor would not shut off and because it was a warning we couldn't retrieve any mileage or MPG or tank levels. Very annoying and it made it difficult to replace the correct amount of gas. I don't blame U-Haul I blame Ford for a faulty product.

The individual who checked me out in the morning clearly did not want to be there that early in the morning and stated such. Also turned the truck in with fewer miles than projected. Still was charged for the full amount. Now I have to call them to get the funds back. I shouldn’t have to do that. There is a check in process for a reason.

Have more staff to help customers. The key to customer service is to be able to provide service. I feel bad for your employees every time I use your services because they're always backed up. You guys may see that you're busy because you're popular, but customers know a bad staffing scenario when they see it. You probably pay terrible, have terrible attrition, and short staff intentionally to make your CEO millions. Good job. I won't be using you guys again. At least I'm helping thin out the crowd for your overworked staff.

The Rainer Valley location was very helpful and nice. Every complication I faced they helped me out. Unfortunately the trailer I got was slightly defective, if I open the door it would get stuck. It was stuck to the point where I couldn’t pull it back down to close it. Other than that it was ok.

We love UHaul for the price and convenience, and the man who helped us was very nice and accommodating. However, the booking process was weird. We filled out credit card info, addresses and emails, which insurance coverage we wanted, etc ahead of time. Additionally, I completed the early check-in that was offered. Even still, we were expected to answer and fill out some of these details *again* when we got there, which kinda defeats the purpose and wastes time. I understand swiping a credit card or showing an ID, but why did I enter all that just to do it again?

Best Uhaul I've ever worked with, and I rent a trailer at least once a week

I rented a U-Haul so I could bring furniture from Mercer Island to Queen Anne (less than 10 miles). I was not informed that I could not pick up the van at one location (Rainier Ave) and not return it to another location. I paid up front for the vehicle then returned the U-Haul to another location in Interbay. After all, what is the point of renting a moving vehicle with an interconnected company if you can't rent in one location and leave it at another? If that were the case, it would make more sense to ask a friend, relative or neighbor for their pickup truck. Instead, I was charged over $200 for the less than 2 hours (after the original $60+ charge I had already paid for) for "dropping off at the wrong location" when I wasn't made aware of this being an issue on the front-end nor an additional service I was meant to pay for up-front. I was so exhausted (and my friends who helped me as well) driving an over-sized truck ( FYI- based on what I mentioned I would be moving, I could have only used a pick-up but was rented a huge truck unnecessarily) so I just payed the huge penalty in the moment to avoid any further hassle. I never complain about service nor experiences because honestly, life is too short. However, I am deeply disappointed in the communication, service and monetary penalties I received for what should have been a very simple utilization of your services.

The truck's driver door wasn't able to close even pull in very hard. The front desk cashier wasn't friendly. Even forgot to give me what I had ordered moving stuff, like furniture dollies. I had had to drive the truck all the way back to location where I picked up.

Even though I was fully checked in on line, the checkout procedure took almost 30 minutes. They were short handed I returned the truck after hours and followed the instructions, but the key drop that is shown online as prominent and bright orange, at this location is small, black, and hardly prominent. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find it and was not sure it was the right place. There is nothing that says, "after hours key drop."

The website failed to make it clear we had to return the truck to the same location. It was fine print somewhere and accepted our plan without a red flag. No one told us this upon rental either. Again it was fine print on the contract and I missed it. Upon returning the truck a couple miles away, again, no one told me it had to be the same exact location. As a result I was charged almost 300 dollars to drive a truck 30 miles in a couple hours. It was a collosal failure of management, customer service, and web mastering and I recommend this company to no one.

WA DOT inspected the trailer and said the trailer was not secured to the hitch by the UHaul employee which is why it detached. I could have gotten into a major accident on the freeway!!

The truck run properly, however I felt U-Haul care more about itself more than about my needs. The pick-up and drop off locations both changed 24 hours prior affecting my plan, the moving tool I ordered were not provided, the price show in the reservation only include the exact km from my address to U-Haul, I received no credit for extra fuel, but have to pay for extra miles ??? I found the website to be very misleading !!! Will not rent with U-haul again. It is clear that you are marketing a low-price, however the end price is much higher, very disappointing !!!

I rented a truck, I brought it back and 12 hours later someone called and said the truck was dirty and I was being charged a clean fee. I stated that I would come get and clean it. The guy said that he had rented again and he would clean when it came back in. Doesn't make sense. I rent from uhaul frequently and have never experienced this. I won't be using uhaul in the future and I'm not going to recommend anyone to use uhaul either

The trailer right tail light did not work for the blinker or the brake light. Sometimes the only lights on the trailer that worked were the tail lights. I didn't find out until I reached Portland OR. I had no way to signal changing lanes. In Albany Or. I stopped at a place that told me to call the 800 number. The response is in the record. No resolution was offered! I was lucky I didn't get pulled over or worse, have an accident. I guess my past experience as a CDL Trucker paid off, no thanks to U-Haul.

This location is better than others that I've had the displeasure of working with in California, but all locations are extremely slow. One person appears to work, one appears to ineffectually supervise, and one unfortunately eats. Please let your employees know that eating at the counter is highly unprofessional and simply gross.

Saturday morning staff was snowed under. Did the best they could, but were a person or two short. My pickup time was 9:30, so can't speak for earlier or later than that time. I received a very annoying call on my way to pick up my rental. It apparently came from a Seattle based Uhaul call center and they gave me the once over for not already being at the rental site. Very rude. I want to stress, thus call did not come from the local rental agency , but s call center. NUTS...

The running light did not work on the first trailer. And tried the second trail with one of there trucks and did not work either. and the third trailer did not work either, but then found out that the first trailer blow my running light fuse. I had to replace the fuse then the lights worked. Did not like it when the person there said he never saw any of the running light that worked on any of the trailers. and said do I need the lights to work, I said I was not going to drive 2100 miles without them working.

The facility was undergoing a major remodel of the "showroom" and rental counters. It was uncomfortably congested with materials that I'm sure had to be moved around a lot. A less congested business area. Would have reduced the sense of chaos and presented a more professional atmosphere.

This location is understaffed, and the people who are working are incompetent, slow, and rude. I waited almost 30 minutes for a truck rental pick up...and then was given a truck that was dirty and DANGEROUS! The windshield was disgustingly dirty inside, and out. And then the truck was OUT of windshield wiper fluid...which we didn't find out until we were driving 60 mph on the highway towards the sun and suddenly had ZERO visibility!!!!!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I scheduled my pickup for 7am and was not told that this time wasn't accepted until I arrived at the store at 7 am THE DAY I WAS MOVING. At that point, I was told I was scheduled at 3:45. Are you fucking kidding me? Fuck you, uhaul. I will never be using your services again. Try caring about your customers more than your bottom line.

No one listen to customer. I was supposed to return my truck at 7:00pm. I came to location at 6:51pm. After 15 minutes they started like we are closed. I was requesting them to just make sure your truck is in good condition and after that I will leave. And suddenly the guy locked the door and lady told us that she had to do 10 trucks before anything. This is the worst customer service. After arguments and when guy saw me taking picture of customer service number on window he finally came out and completed everything. Customer service is below 1 star

Maria and the other gentleman working on Sunday 9/24 are hero's in my book. They took an impossible situation and did the best they could. I may have waited in line for over an hour, and I may have had a 45 min drop off wait, but I never once was upset, or flustered by it. Maria was efficient with every customer she had, and kept an amazing positive attitude. She is pure gold and deserves to be paid, MUCH MUCH more than you're probably giving her. There was literally only 2 people working on an exceptionally busy day, they ran out of paper, were working in a construction zone, and had well over 100 reservations. I don't know why that location isn't given more support, but if you were to lose Maria, I don't think you could keep the lights on anymore.

The computer registration did not work, although it said it did. I got there and could not use the "24/7" service to "avoid the lines." I then had to wait in line for over a half hour. The lady at the (understaffed) desk said that the computer was not registering the van I rented as already having been rented out so she couldn't stop people from reserving vans that weren't in. There was one available, however, and I eventually got the job done. Another man had to wait in the same line after me simply for his receipt upon return of the vehicle. I overheard the woman tell him they would email it (therefore, he didn't have to wait in line at all), but he said he doesn't use computers. Then she said they have no printer paper and can't print his receipt (end of story - no "I'm sorry." No problem-solving whatsoever). Lastly, there were no signs regarding parking at the location so I was told to move my car off-site while I used the truck, which was another chunk of wasted time that could have been avoided.

Get more HELP! There should be no reason anyone should have to wait in a line 30 minutes to pick up equipment. But that is what happened. I had downloaded the app and attempted to change my contract into a self pickup, but the app doesn't allow that option without changing the entire contract, and I didn't want to loose my reservation, so hurry up and wait. Returning the equipment the next day, the wait line was three times as bad, and still only one person working the desk. I will say the woman that checked me out was a great multi-tasker, by helping two people at the same, but why should she? That shouldn't be necessary! Hard to keep good people that way, putting them in impossible situations

I booked a 20 foot truck from seattle to phoenix. The day before pickup The Seattle office called me and said that they didn't have the truck. I ended up having to get a 15 foot truck . I was very disappointed and it made the moving process much more difficult. I will not be recommending U-Haul or using U-Haul in the future. I will be using Penske.

Uhaul installed the lights hookup for towing a trailer on my vehicle. It wasn't working when I went to pick up my trailer and the staff was completely unhelpful. I ended up having to get a truck and wasted at least 2 hours. Very Frustrating. Please have more mechanics on staff on the weekends and have employees with knowledge about where to get problems fixed, if they can't help.

On a weekend you should definitely have more than one person at the counter. The computers were constantly breaking during the employees transactions. We waited probably 40 minutes to get the truck that we booked online. Pretty ridiculous when we all know weekends are busy - plan ahead so your customers can get in and out quickly. The space looks to be in the middle of a "remodel" with exposed wires and unfinished drywall surrounding merchandise. For $54 for 4 hours of renting, I think UHaul can afford to finish such a minor project...

The customer service reps were drowning with customers- you need to hire more reps and have a more efficient computer system. The reps were having computer issues and had to keep entering my information and were very apologetic. The customer rep was also the one moving trucks to make room for us to hitch our trailer and she was also the one hitching the trailer. Hire more staff. No wonder the customer reps get backed up with customers. The customer reps were great but this the responses I'm providing to you overall as a company and how its business practices with your employees. Also the location in W.S. as well as the location on MLK were so hot and there was no air circulating. It was an unusual extremely hot summer in Seattle and all the customers as well as your staff were sweating and notably uncomfortable. Luckily no one passed out from heat exhaustion.

I specificially requested a Northend location (not Snohomish like I got with my last u-haul just a few weeks ago). Instead I got the Rainier Valley at rush hour. -The service at 2515 Rainier Ave S is extremely poor! -When I came to pick up the vehicle, I watched (female, as an identifier only) employees chat amongst themselves for a few minutes and then treat me as if I was an interruption. -When I came to drop off, there was no one inside and two (again as an identifier, female) employees apparently taking a break outside. They just looked at me as they continued talking. Finally an employee came from assisting another customer across the lot, to help me. I found out he was supposed to be off the clock. -Finally, I was LESS THAN AN HOUR late and got the full charge, including insurance, for an extra day. (One of the employees stopped breaking long enough to charge me.) Some other locations give grace periods. -I HIGHLY SUGGEST going to a different location!

Rainier location seemed very understaffed and was an excellent example of inefficiency. Long wait times and confusing processes. Online check-in didn't work on my phone so I had to wait in a long line at least twice. Staff more people, especially during busy times and at the end of the month when people are moving. I was looking for vehicle to carry 19 1/2 feet boards. Boards. Because of composite of boards I needed them to lay flat. I was told 20 foot van should work. Well it did not. I tried to get it to work but no. I had to unload what I had. Come back for the monster 25 foot van. It worked but cost me more time and money.

The equipment was fine, but I am very frustrated with the communication regarding gas. I was warned multiple times that I would be charged at least $4 per gallon, and that I should fill up myself to avoid the higher gas price. Since I only drove ~10 miles and was coming close to being late for the return time, I was okay w/ paying the higher rate since I used such a small amount of gas. It turned out that i used ~1.25 gallons (I was charged $5 for gas), but I was horrified to see I was charged $30 for a "Fuel Fill-up Service Fee." This is pretty outrageous, especially since the gas needle had barely even moved. I don't understand why I was warned multiple times about the $4 gas when the real thing I should have been warned about was the $30 service fee!

This was hands-down the worst run and worst organized U-Haul locations I've ever been to. Considering it was Sunday morning in the summer, I can't even begin to guess why only 3 people were working here. There was only 1 person at the front desk, so the line was always 10 people deep and I waited in line for an hour!! Not only that, but the person out front managing the rental equipment and customer interactions was awful. He let another customer get in my truck and drive away. So that only added to the time I had to spend at the front desk as they had to change my whole order and find me a new truck. Lastly, I was really upset with the "mobile check-in" option. What's the point of a mobile check-in if I still have to go inside to talk to the person at the front desk? That completely wipes out the whole idea of a mobile check-in. It was so inefficient. I had to wait in line for an hour when your company promised me a mobile check-in experience that was better, faster and more efficient. By the time I actually got in my truck I was more than an hour behind schedule. I don't know if I'll ever use U-Haul again. This was such a horrible experience for me. I am really, really hoping to get my money back for this exchange. Is there anything you can do for me?

I have never visited a business and had a worse experience than I did today. I am shocked that this location is still in business and it should be an embarrassment to any senior management. I waited in line for over an hour and literally more people walked out of the line tired of waiting than people got served. Then the cashier and what seemed to be the only other employee seemed to disappear for 10 minutes because the cashier misplaced the keys from the night before. I have no idea why it took the cashier 15 minutes to check someone out who was only buying boxes. Perhaps if uhaul was not more concerned to nickle and dime its customers and actually staff the store, the experience would be better. One of the worst experiences I have ever had and I had to give you money… Never again!

The actual location was helpful, however the 1-800-GOUHaul custoer service personnel were very unhelpful! I called to confirm that the above referenced drop-off location had after hour services, and was told that they did not; adn was directed to a different location. Then upon arrival at 9:30 pm was not able to use the app to drop off my trailer. I called the general number again, and was then told that I needed to return to the above referenced. I would have recommended UHaul to friends/family for long distance moves until I had to deal with the general customer service. Their overall lack of knowledge and understanding of the process was very off-putting.

When I made my reservation online about 3 weeks before my move i was able to select 'in-town move' and select a separate pickup and drop off location. Both locations were in the city of Seattle so I didn't think anything of it. When i picked up my u-haul at the first location, the associate was texting on her phone the entire time and made no mention that there was anything wrong with my reservation. She didn't mention where the truck needed to be dropped off so I assumed it was at the 2nd location where I had selected during my reservation. Later that evening i dropped off the truck at the 2nd location, I handed the keys to an associate and explained that I had picked up the truck at location 1 and was dropping it off at location 2. The associate that I handed the keys to made no mention that anything was off. When I was about 40 minutes away from location 2, an associate called me stating that I needed to come pick up the truck and drop it off at location 1 otherwise I would be charged 7 times the amount of the rental. this was a huge issue because I was 40 minutes away, and an hour until both locations closed. i had to turn around, speed back to location 2 to pick up the truck and speed back to location 1 to drop the truck off before close so as not to be charged for an extra day. As you can imagine this is not an ideal situation after the stress of moving all day. I understand that it was in my contract that the truck was to be picked up and dropped off at location 1, BUT your website allowed me to make the reservation to pick up at location 1 and drop off at location 2 and BOTH associates failed to tell me that this is a glitch in your website. This is very misleading to the customer, had I known that 'in-town' meant pick up and drop off at the same location that would have been fine and I could have accommodated that instead of having to make unnecessary trips across town. I am not pleased with my experience.

The people were great. But you changed my pick up location from Issaquah (right next to my storage unit) to rainieer 25 minutes away, the opposite direction I was supposed to go. Crackhead siphoned the gas out of my truck so got a few blocks away and had to go back because it was on E. Then had to stop and get gas before loading truck at storage. Additionaly, was charged for extra 20 miles because UHAUL changed my pickup location 20 miles in the opposite direction. Drop off was equally a nightmare. Despite being told I had a two day rental, my contract said return by 9:30. On what planet is a 2 day rental 9:30 am to 9:30 am. That's only 24 hours. Pretty asinine. So despite busting ass to get the truck empty in time for return. I show up to return location and it doesn't open until noon. Never using uhaul again. This was ridiculous.

There were only two staff at this location for a very busy Sunday which UHaul was advertising as "Moving Day". Took me an HOUR to get through the line even after doing an online reservation and the express check-in. The staff seemed to completely not care about the line and the wait. We were told the wrong thing about the time span we had to load our U-Boxes. Our U-Boxes were shipped to a U-Haul location in that was over 100 miles from our house causing a delay in the arrival of our U-Boxes. It took over 15 phone calls to figure out when our U-Boxes were actually going to be delivered. The local locations were not able to pick up the empty U-Boxes for 5 extra days. The lack of communication between U-Haul Corporate, the locations and customers is appalling.

Zero customer service. I waited in line for 10 minutes with others with nobody behind counter. One staff left to do something but did not tell is she would be back. Staff talked to each other behind counter but not to customers. Did not receive greeting or thank you. Was confused on who was getting me truck and where to wait. I put 2 gallons of gas back in truck before returning and was still charged $17 which is more gas than should have been required to get back up to 3/8 tank. Was expecting about $4-8 max. Really disappointed that people don't have the motivation to do better by customer when they have the ability.

Actually the person behind the counter was concerned & tried to help me, but... I reserved a storage unit at this location, only to be told they had no units available. My reservation was in the system, but they actually had no units open. I was sent to your West Seattle location, only to be told that the size unit I needed was a higher price than the one I asked for on Rainier. Also the unit was located on the 2nd floor, & there was NO ELEVATOR. I had just finished 2 months of physical therapy to learn to walk again, & now was told I had to carry my belongings up a flight of stairs. (I had no choice, this was the last U-haul location available.) In the future I plan to use a different company!

I called this location over 12 times over the course of 2 1/2 weeks, each time getting someone in the Phx call center. The agents left messages for the location to call, sometimes urgent ones, and I never received a call until I completed a survey similar to this. The coordination and commutation regarding the deliver of my Ubox was very unprofessional and resulted in losing me as a customer for further services and needs. Also, I was charged for a full month of storage for 5 days of storage because they could not deliver my Ubox prior to my rental renewal date. This charge was forced on me and I will dispute with management.

I rent Uhaul's almost 10 times a month and this officer in rainier valley always makes mistakes. Two Months ago, I drove away from the location just to find out my fuel was wrong so had to take a picture and call them. They said it was ok but they still charged me. Last week I rented from them a trailer and brought it back an hour late because of traffic. They wanted to charge me an extra $45 for it. Luckily my friend used to work at uhaul and called them and told them to put that in hold and told them the policy so they didn't charge me. Yesterday I rented a 15 foot truck. Fuel was wrong again. I told before leaving so a lady came out initialed the contract and put the right fuel. I go to move my stuff and realize that their dolley is loose and their blankets are also open. So I had to call them again so they don't charge me for it. I think a homeless person spent the night inside the truck because th blankets were used and there were cigarette butts inside the truck. I bring the truck back with more fuel than they gave me and now I get my contract and they charged me $22 for fuel. This is rediculous. I have rented over a 100 times with uhaul and with the exemption with maybe one other place a single time, the rainier valley uhaul is the worst and I have 3/4 bad experiences from them.

Very nice however this is the second location I had to go to because the truck originally ordered was not available. Very disappointed in how this was handled. I received a late phone call and all attempts to contact this location were forwarded to your customer. Ari (spelling} was not very helpful and I could not hear her, She would not answer my questions so I had to ask for a supervisor. I received a smaller truck, all you had available. It was so much farther away, cost so much more time and mileage and you caused us to inconvenience my customer, which matters the most. I understand things happen but its how you handle the problem that makes the difference. You've charged me all the extras for this replacement rental, can you tell me when I will receive my guarantee credit? I'm not happy with all the hoops I had to jump through to accommodate my customer. Had it not been for her I would have rescheduled with another company. Please let me know about the credit as soon as possible.

It was the end of the month, before school starts and they were inadequately staffed, the 2 employees that were working were incompetent, slow, and extremely unprofessional. The man working the equipment did not understand the mobile online express service and actually got upset with me about the cargo van that I was assigned via the express service because he had to move other vans out of the way...He shunned me inside to see the clerk to change the van. I "skipped the lines" like U-Haul advertises on the website and on in-store posters, but was told I still needed to wait! I waited an hour because the clerk did not want to pay attention to me after I told her I did express check out and the online prompt told me to "Pick up my keys". She said, "You still have to wait!" When I finally got to the front she initially could not find my reservation, but realized, "Oh, you're already checked out"...and throws keys at me. Their nonprofessional attitudes and lack of knowledge of the services U-Haul provides should be reason enough for them to be let go. If you want to improve service for the next customer, you should relieve the location of their current staff or shut the location down. I was not the only one in the line that day extremely dissatisfied. And according to previous reviews this is not uncommon service.

The cab interior was in good condition and quite clean but the rest of the truck wasn't so much. The exterior was quite dirty, the windshield so much so that I could hardly see out of it in daylight. Since I'm not used to driving GMC products it took a bit of time before I found the washer.

I had reserved a 20' truck a few weeks prior. Arrived the morning of my move and was told the truck that was meant for me had been damaged by the pervios renter. The uhaul employee called arpund to local stores to see if we could take one of theirs, no luck. Her options for us were to take a 15' truck to drive to Gig Harbor or Bainbridge Island, both over a hour away via ferry with toll. I had everything set up to move that day. Movers scheduled and family waiting on me. I took the 15' truck and bately squeezed my stuff into it. Wish i could have avoided that stress, there's enough that is already attached to moving.

On my contract, my fuel level was marked at just below full, but when I got in the truck it was at 3/4 full. I didn't say anything because I planned to full it all the way, which I did, but the fuel level stayed at 3/4 full. Nevertheless, I was charged the surcharge for not returning the tank at the same level. Your trucks have deficiencies that seen to make the company money, and I will switch my rental needs to another company.

Since I got there after they closed, it's difficult to give a review. I have one suggestion, and it comes from having used U-Haul many times before the advent of smart phones. It would have been better to get some forewarning about the online-drop-off process (that it takes 20 minutes, and that you'll need your phone all charged up at the end of a long trip). It went fine once I went back to the gas station to add more fuel to charge my phone while idling in the U-Haul truck... : )

I showed up to U-Haul moving and storage off of Rainier to drop off my rental truck right around the time I was scheduled to drop it off at. I believe I was scheduled at 9:15 and I pulled into the lot at 9:20 after hitting a little bit of traffic. The return station lane was being impeded by two stalled U-Haul trucks so after waiting a while for them to move I pulled my truck into an open space in the lot. When I was walking to the front office a man in a not very welcoming tone asked me why I parked the truck where I did and then I pointed out that there were two trucks blocking the lane to return my truck. This whole process of explaining and parking took about ten minutes. After he did a brief inspection of the truck he told me I was done and I went on my way. I got back into my car and left the lot thinking that everything was fine. Later that day though I checked my bank account and I had a $60 charge on my account that wasn't my original account. Well it turns out that I was charged a late fee for pulling into a lot where I couldn't park my truck initially and getting dinged $60 for being 5 minutes late. When I called the store to try and talk to someone I was told a manager would call me and nobody ever did. I then called back later the night and was transferred to customer service and am now waiting to hear from a customer service representative in the next few days. I understand that there is a designated time to be back but being charged $60 for 5 minutes over the time that I was supposed to be there is infuriating. Not to mention the customer service from the beginning to the end was terrible. I have used U-Haul once or twice a year for the last 15 years but this experience may make it my last.

The lady who checked me out was rude. She also made a mistake and put my return date for not enough days. When I went back to get it changed all she did was email someone and say I would get an email with the new approved return date. I never received an email. So I spent about 40 min calling around to get the date changed. Also when I went to go return my uhaul, the place on my receipt did not have space for my uhaul so I was forced to drive to another location.

The lady at the front counter (bigger blonde with glasses) was super rude. She didn't even walk me around the truck to check, she just handed me a clip board and told me what to do. The truck was under my significant other's name and reserved under his name, yet I had to pay for it since he wasn't there. She was so rude at explaining policy. Never using this uhaul again and making sure anyone in the south end of seattle never does either. I can't believe how poor your customer service is and how expensive this poor service ended up. Waste of money.

What you need to do is simple. You have a virtual monopoly. Charge more, staff more. Otherwise someone will take your spot. Variable pricing for different geographies? When I first entered the parking park, I was greeted by an woman screaming at myself and other customers to not park in their lot. Apparently that is more efficient than posting signs telling customers to park on the street, or simply asking nicely to park elsewhere. Part of her unprofessional and condescending rant included "This is Seattle!" I'm not sure what she was getting at... lots of private businesses in Seattle either have customer parking or, in a non confrontational manner tell their customers where to park. Needless to say I would not recommend this location due to their unprofessional staff - what kind of a business screams at people attempting to enter their store to give them money? On a positive note, the manager of the store is very nice and the rental truck was great.

My reservation was at 7am in a Saturday morning. I arrived just at 7am, and find two others waiting. The office wasn't yet open. More customers arrived. The office finally opened at 8:55 am. Only one agent was there to handle them at least 10-12 customers. When I returned the vehicle I was offered a $50 credit but barely an apology by the manager. An operation of this size should ensure there are at least 2-3 reliable people scheduled each weekend in case someone can't show up, clearly the case in this instance. There was one wonderful yard employee named earl, who called the manager but said he wasn't trained to check people out. Poor management all around. It really wrecked havoc with my moving schedule and plans of others.

The worst Uhaul experience and overall retail experience I have ever had. Only 1 person was working and turned out she was the GM. Took me an hour to checkin and to wait in line to find out my truck size was not ready. She didn't appologize or seem to even care. My movers were paid to wait around while this was such a pain.

Engine cover in cab not clamped down after engine in Seattle servicing according to roadside assistance at destination - 200 degree temperature poured into cab the entire 600 mile trip with NO return phone calls from U-Haul about the complaint logged 15 miles into trip - (1451387). Worthless customer service experience all the way around. I refuse to pay this bill awaiting a call from Milton Newman the 'manager'.

This location was very impressive. What's less impressive is two things; t 1. this survey; rating the location has nothing to do with my satisfaction with the rental experience, and 2. I didn't have a good pickup experience, but, for all my trouble, it's being made right and for that I'm appreciative. As brief as I can explain it, here's what happened... 1. Scheduled to pickup a 6x12 covered trailer in Woodinville, WA at 10:00a (15 min drive one way). 2. Got a text message at 7:45a the morning of the pickup that I would now be pickup up in Lake Stevens WA at 12:30p (45 min drive one way). 3. No trailer at Lake Stevens; customer late in returning. Bethany was very helpful and called around to find me a trailer, which she located on Rainier Ave. S. in Seattle (50 min drive from Lk. Stevens to Seattle). 4. Finally able to pick up trailer from the Rainier Ave. S. location (30 min drive to home). For my trouble I was provided the trailer for $100 plus a $50 rebate on top of that. This is fair compensation and I appreciate the team for making things as right as possible under the circumstances. Those I interacted with along the way were helpful and sympathetic and represented U-Haul well. I do understand that there is much out of your control, but your policies helped to make a rotten experience much less painful. I feel like I've only gotten more dissatisfied which could have been completely avoided. I went to pick up the van. The lady confirmed I reserved a silly. I asked if everything was set and then when I go to my storage there was no silly. I called, I was told one of two managers would call me back. No one did. I decided to drive back then back again to my storage which took an extra 14 miles I believe plus extra in has I had to reimburse. So move was completed. I tried to call back twice the following day and again yesterday. First time the ladies computer crashed, the next I was to recieve a call from a manager within an hour, the last the person apologized for the previous person's telling me a call within an hour. Everytime I called the people were very polite. Maybe someone will call me today. It was very inconvieniant to have to go back. No one ever calls me back and I am just trying to have a manager call me back. I feel like someone should have called me back initially. People not following through with what they say they are going to do is not good in my opinion. Can't control that though. I don't think I'll use uhaul again if this isnt resolved.

The employees were great, but I lay the blame at the U-Haul system for my extremely frustrating experience. U-Haul: Don't change the pickup location and time at the last minute!!! The actual location was way out-of-the-way from the pickup location (and the time) I originally booked and U-Haul confirmed. And this last-minute change--the day before--in pickup location (several miles away) and time turned a previously previously smooth booking and scheduling process into a chaotic nightmare. It was only because of the wonderfully patient and diligent woman at the front desk who located a different truck within the time-frame we needed that we were finally able to leave the lot with a truck and within the time we originally requested.

This location was ok, but the entire experience was horrible. I ordered my trailer online for 8am pick up about 3 miles from my house. The night before I was notified I had to go to a location 7 miles away and could get the trailer at 5:30pm. I was leaving at noon, so that was unacceptable. They found a trailer about 10 miles away at 9:00am, but it took forever from the time I got there to get out. The trailer didn't have ramp and the door barely worked. Also, the express checkout I did online did not speed up anything. U-Haul was one of the worst experiences I ever had. Also, everyone at the store was having similarly bad experience due to online ordering.

It might help to hire a third person or a fourth because at 9:00 this morning eight people waiting in line. Even though the two workers were going as fast as possible, it took time to complete paper work and answering questions. There were several customers behind me who were really upset because they had movers waiting. My pickup time was 9:00am. I arrived at 9:01, but because of three people ahead of me, I did not get my rental until 9:28. However, as I said earlier, the two workers remained polite and worked as fast as possible.

I doubt it will ever make a difference, but in my life have I never seen a more sorry-ass operation than this location. There was one older white lady with tattoos that finally decided to get some stuff done and she was great. The rest of the workers were completely disinterested in doing any kind of work. There was a fat black chick that literally took 15min pushing flat boxes from one end of the store to the other, for no apparent reason. A guy was buying propane, or trying to, and she basically ignored, him, lack of interest, motivation, I don't know... guy almost freaked out. Us customers were laughing, and a lady said this is how it was every time she went there. Good lord, somebody check this place out and fix it!

I was wrongly charged for an additional fee for putting gas into a van I had returned with the correct amount of gas in it. No one has tried to return my call after I called to complain about this charge that suddenly showed up on my credit card. When I came in to rent the van, the location was short staffed and didn't do a walk around the vehicle with me because they had so many people waiting inside. No information was really given, especially about dropping off after hours. No security seemed to be on location where we left our car and we saw two people come out from a couple of the vans and ran off when we spotted them. Did not feel like a place we should have left our car. Wish I used the Renton location like I have in the past, I've never had any problems with them.

When I visited on Saturday morning, the store was staffed by only 2 people, despite this obviously being a busy time for such a business. I was fortunate to be at the front of the 12-15 person line, to pick up my U-box and a rental truck to tow it. Despite the fact that I had made the reservation a week in advance, and the store staff had clearly been aware of my reservation(they knew my name as soon as I told them I was there to pick up a U-box), the U-box had not even been put on a trailer when I arrived. This caused a 15 minute delay to not only me, but everyone else in line as well. Because they only had 2 people working, no one was available to help any other customers. The management at this location failed at every turn to provide a good experience for their customers. I will not use this location or recommend it to anyone.

Very frustrating and unprofessional! I had reserved a 26 feet size truck as I had a big moving day coming up. I called on the pick up day to make sure everything is all set and I was told I am good to go. However, when I got there , I was told the 26 feet truck is not available. What an awesome management Uhaul! I hope you are tracking my feedback so it can be addressed. Just because I was told only this facility has 26 feet , I drove 25 miles each way to get it and I didn't get it when I got there. The rest is sheer frustration as I had to manage with a smaller one which caused me to do double rounds of moving and disrupted my moving schedule upside down. Uhaul are you listening ? After having checked in online for a pickup at 8:00, I arrived at this location at 7:45. At that time, there was a line of 5, and at least 5 more came after me while we waited. Unfortunately, the location was staffed with only 2 employees, and we were told they had to serve whoever shows up in order, which meant that all of us waited for 45 minutes while they moved pallets for another customer. When I attempted to see if I could get a truck from another location, I was told there were none. The employees there were doing their best, but should never had been put in the position that they were (given that reservations are made online).

Not specific to this site but it is difficult to return a vehicle when with a specific amount of fuel when it is not full. When I returned the vehicle I went inside to turn in my paper work to wait for 20 minutes to be told I need to submit it to the person out side who I walked past 20 minutes earlier, that watched me pull in. I was than instructed I needed to move the vehicle to a nother location to be processed while they proceeded to help the person that came in after me. The icing on the cake was they charged me a cleaning fee when I had just spent 30 minutes cleaning the vehicle. I took photos, bit fill enough of my time has been waisted by people that obviously don't care about return business

I came to return the van Sunday morning around 9:30am, waited by the van as the sign said for 1/2 hour, and nobody even acknowledged me. There was 1 employee walking around, but wouldn't even look my way, so I finally just left. I rented the Van at noon, on 6/9, had it back by 9:30 on 6/11, but they charged me for 3 days because according to the paperwork, the didn't check it in until 1:55pm on 6/11. It was parked directly in front of the door, so somebody would have had to move it well before then. Super bad service, and really annoying.

The reservation process over the phone was nice and easy. The checkout process in-store however was painfully slow. I rented an open trailer and purchased some boxes and packing material. My daughter and I were being helped by someone at the register but the computer system was having issues processing our transaction. Only after our order was deleted and readded several times did it process. Trailer was clean and functioned well.

I would like to request a refund of my rental. The inside of the trailer wreaked of a sour smell and there was dried mud all over the floor. I asked the employee why, and he indicated they sometimes have issues with homeless people getting inside. I had no choice but to take the trailer since there were no other trailers available, and I was committed to moving that day. The employees should be cleaning these between uses when they are returned in this fashion, or if homeless people are getting inside of them. It is unacceptable to be renting them out in this condition. I had to lay down a tarp so my furniture did not get dirty. The location seemed under staffed and very busy, and the employee that helped me was nice, but this was still not okay to be renting them in this condition. Can you please refund my rental?

The folks did not check the fuel when the truck was brought in and they marked it full. Had I not taken note of the fuel before I left I believe I would have incurred a much higher fuel charge. This should be done by the staff prior to check out...no relying on a guest. As an aside, some else checking back in as I was departing claimed the fuel was overcharged. This does not seem to be isolated to one incident.

The fuel charge is ridiculous; it wasn't explained to me and it isn't on their site either. The fuel level was lower than 1/4 and I told them, however, when I returned another employee checked the vehicle and charged me "fuel charge" because the fuel level was slightly lower than 1/4. I actually had bought 2.5 gallons and drove only 3.5 miles, and in my eyes, the fuel level was slightly lower than 1/4 but higher than when I rented the vehicle. I wanted to complain to the main desk but there was a long line and I was in hurry so I left.

PLEASE make sure the equipment is well maintained. It was clean for sure, but the wheels on the trailer were sketchy at best. Not sure the last time the wheel bearings were repacked, and the lug nuts and rims were pitted and rusty. Trailer blew a tire and nearly flipped, the roadside assistance guy said the tire was very old. Not too happy about being forced to use very old and dangerous equipment.

This location was very busy as it was the first week of the month, and it appeared to only have 2 reps working both the counter and pulling trucks around. Get more staff during those peak moving times. The rep were doing a great job considering the amount of people waiting.

Everything was fine except there was some confusion with my order. The location and truck I requested was incorrect. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fully move because I was given a van instead of a truck and it was at a completely different location. Besides that everyone was incredibly helpful and the van was immaculate.

Arrived at the station to receive my truck only to find nobody there to give my key and the front door locked. I was forced to order a truck past closing and it attempted to charge me for the unused truck. It doesn't get one star because customer support has seemed to clear the first charge. I still didn't get the boxes I originally needed and it took far more hack pain and time to move out.

Was overcharged by over $100 at location, was emailed receipt, so did not know until I got home. Called customer service, who were unable to enter the note into the system, but needed a note to talk with the GM at the location. However, they said if I called the location, I would just be sent to customer service. Terrible. Went to location. They reversed the $100, but charged me for three gallons of gas. I drove a total of 9 miles, in a van which gets 18mpg. How could I possibly use 3 gallons of gas? Didn't seem worth arguing after the already terrible experience. Enjoy your $12.50.

Here's a quick story. I recently rented and returned a U-Haul truck after driving it 17 miles. Due to time constraints, I had to drop the truck off without refueling it. I rationalized this because I had been told that I would have to pay $4.25 per gallon, and since I only drove it 17 miles, I assumed that the truck would require around two gallons. Instead, they put in 5 gallons (~$20) and charged me the $30 refuel fee that was never communicated to me. Yes, I now see that there is a disclaimer printed on the back. But when I asked about the refuel fees to an employee, they only mentioned the $4.25 per gallon. So what can you do to improve for the next customer? I would recommend telling people about that fee, especially since you give customers trucks with 5/16ths of a tank and charge the fee if it's returned below 4/16ths.

This was an absolute DISASTER. Shayla was the worst person to deal with. How she is a GM, I HAVE NO IDEA. My problems are: 1.) she is terribly unresponsive. Promises to call back or follow up and does not. 2.) She did not follow up with my apartment complex like she said she would which led to me finding out the day before move in that they would not allow the Ubox. I ended up getting an exception but needed same day drop off and pick up which did not happen. 3.) The day of the move, I had a 2.5 hour window to have the Uhaul truck (I HAD TO RENT). My boxes were promised to be brought down first thing in the morning, so that I would be able to be at my complex by 12:30. I showed up at 9 AM, and the boxes are nowhere to be found. They LITERALLY cannot find my boxes. At noon they tell me it is at a different facility where I have to drive to. I do not get everything loaded until 1 PM leaving me 90 minutes to drive to Seattle and unload everything. Obviously this did not happen, and caused soooooo many more issues. 4.) In the end, no apologies, no follow, nothing. I spent $200 on Uboxes, $90 on delivery of them, $150 for a permit to park them, and $100 for a truck. I also had to drive 35 miles to where everything was stored. I would have had a $100 move, but elected to "make it easier" with Uboxes and got bones for $440 additional and extra time

The express check-out I signed up for wasn't observed, they were short-staffed. The 15ft truck had a faulty transmission (wouldn't shift out of second gear) so it ran hard and used excessive gasoline. Also a dolly was in the truck that I did not order.

The sale associate that help me with my reserved rental was great, he went well out his way. But when I first arrive I ask the manager did he have any trailer available to rent he told me no. Even though when I arrive he was hitching up this gentleman truck and their was at least 8 trail sitting there. Then proceed to tell me that all their trailer we reserved for the day. I asked if he could check any other stores near by and he said no because they were all not open yet. So I called the Uhaul 1800 number and the customer service told yes they had a trail and reserved one for me. I truly hope this manager did not treat me like this because I was African American, but did fill like this. His excuse to the other sale associate that help me was I didn't know you had a reservation, the only problem with that response was that I didn't have one when I walk in the store. I only got one after he told me he had no trailers because they were ALL reserved. This is my neighborhood Uhaul that I been going to for a long time and this hurts to be treated this way. I was renting this trail to move something for a fundraiser I was doing for my churches Children Ministry. No one should have to good through this.
