This was by far the BEST customer service I have ever experienced!! I was moving cross-country, and also went on an international trip just before my items were supposed to be dropped off at my new home. The amazing folks at U-Haul were so courteous and had a solution for every curveball or schedule change I threw their way. I would like to give a special shout out to Carlos (not sure of his last name) at the Research Blvd location-- he went above and beyond to help me with my move and I am going to be a lifelong U-Haul customer because of it. Additionally, U-Box prices were 1/3 the cost of a PODS service for me. This was extremely affordable, the customer care was out of this WORLD awesome, and of all my items, only one dish broke (and that was from my own packing blunder). I've been telling everyone I know about U-Boxes because, seriously, BEST THING EVER!!! Thank you so much for giving me the most stress-free moving experience! Your team rocks!

Manager/Owner very helpful and nice. The staff appeared over whelmed and the lines were very long. I believe they need extra help. The Katy Texas location on Katy Fwy is always chaotic as well. I think training and adequate staffing for the weekends is needed.

Reserved van, two furniture dollies, utility dolly, and 12 pads. They were unable to provide the furniture dollies as they were out and were only able to provide 6 pads. Fortunately I was able to make due with the shortfall but if I had really needed all the items that I had reserved the day prior, and had a confirmation for, I would have been very upset. Though Susan was very cordial in explaining the situation. She made the experience a good one. Thanks!

There was only 1 service representative when the location opened so there was a significant wait, (28 minutes for me) to get a vehicle. I had reserved a truck with 12 moving pads, the rental truck only had 6 pads. When I returned the truck, I tried to get the service representative to credit my account. He never did and later charged me for a 2 day rental when I was 31 minutes late on the return.

Quoted price was $0.40/mile, was billed for $1.09/mile and told there was nothing that could change about that. Rental was also changed last minute due to another location being unable to accommodate, forcing me to rent a larger truck with a coincidentally larger rental fee. No attempt was made to honor the $50 refund for last minute changes to my reservation.

The District Manager was holding a Meeting with the Staff right in the Showroom near the Computer where the Rep. was assisting us. He was speaking so loudly that I could barely hear the Rep. and had to ask him to repeat several times. Also, the Rep. was paying more attention to the Meeting than to us, the CUSTOMER!!!

Reservations and plans don’t mean anything to U-Haul. I don’t want to waste any more time on U-Haul describing my experience, but needless to say they dropped the ball in every single possible way they could and offered nothing to fix it, but instead had the attitude of ‘there’s nothing we can do’. U-Haul was the cheapest of the moving pods/boxes and you definitely get what you pay for (incompetence).

The person taking my original call was just wrong. I asked about a specific location and that a truck would be the waiting. She had the wrong location and promised a truck would be there. So I showed up to the location I wanted and there was no truck and the wrong location, which didn't have a truck either. I had to drive the opposite direction 10 minutes to get. So the girl on the phone gave me the wrong location and made bad promises. Not a way to start a long busy day for me.

UHual needs to supply gloves to their employees, if they dont already. These guys are roughing up their hands all day long. I've rented from this same location multiple times and the guys are never wearing gloves.

Manager had an attitude with the drop off . He doesn’t need to show me that he has problem with it being dropped off because he is backed at the store . I had already been to four uhaul places that don’t except travel tailer exports. I did what uhaul 1-800 number told me to do.

Every step of my U-Box move was delayed and didn't meet any of the guaranteed dates. I rate it a 2 because I eventually got my stuff and it wasn't damaged. If you are on any kind of fixed schedule just know they don't really care and there's nothing you can do about it, things happen when they decide and you have no recourse. I make a dozen calls to various support lines trying to track and get new ETAs when they failed to meet deadlines they set and guarenteed me.

Chris Bretton was rude and difficult to deal with. There were several problems we experienced, I would like someone to call me to discuss these issues. 1. Our items were moved from one facility to another without our knowledge or consent. 2. We had confirmed reservations with Uhaul, but when we got there, the reservation somehow got lost or misplaced. Chris said they had no units avail, comparable to what we requested. When we finally got our things delivered items were broken and scratched pretty bad. Also the driver put the uboxes on the trailer so we could not get one of them open and spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to get the issue resolved, Last but not least, the driver put the ramp on the back so we could unload but failed to attach with the pins in causing my daughter to fall injuring herself pretty bad. You need to do a better job taking care of your customers!

The return process / experience was very bad. No response to the intercom. Called the location's number and was told I need to download and app or talk to 800 folks. Didn't want to DL the app so waited over 20 minutes for 800 folks. By the time they talked with me, I was on my way home. Had to turn around and go to the location (again) to use their site to "turn in" the trailer and shoot pictures. I'm unsure why I had to have the trailer in by 9:45PM but this was insane. Very poor process and communication.

Worse customer service in the business! They didn't do a walk around, the van was park so close to another truck I had to get in from the passengers side. When I brought back the truck I had to request to do a walk around to make sure I won't get charge for something I didn't do. The employees at this location are lazy and rude. Will I ever go to this location again, no way , will I ever rent from uhaul again. I really don't know. This was a horrible experience from start to finish.

The Air conditioning was not working on the truck. The U-Haul service rep could use some training on communication with customers. He was hard to understand. Also when he pulled the truck up the rep just walked off and did not tie off with me. I had to go back in the office to find out that I was good to go.

More preparation on what to expect before leaving the lot with your vehicle. I did not expect to have to take pictures, or have a passport/other form of verification available, to be taking pictures of my license, checking the mileage, etc. I was under the I impressions that I would arrive, sign-in to my u-haul account, find my vehicle and leave, so I left the lot later than I expected. I recommend more a briefing because I would have arrived 10-15 minutes earlier.

The staff seemed unsure about how to properly load a tow dolly onto the 10' truck we rented. We were towing a car 1100 miles to CO. After the tow dolly was set up, then they tested the signals on the tow dolly only then finding an issue. What it turned out to be is that the truck itself had an issue with the electric connection for the tow dolly's turn signals. We were then given a choice to go to another location to have our truck serviced or unload our packed truck for another truck that was tested. We chose the latter, but it put us on the road two hours later. Additionally, it appeared that the staff did not know how to load the car properly as there was a lot of confusion about how the straps were locked down. That did not invite a lot of confidence. When we arrived in CO a couple of nights ago, one of the straps that goes over the right tire was completely off! The U-haul people in Craig told us that the car was not secured properly. They asked if we were shown how to tighten the straps and that we were to retighten them after 50 miles. Were were not shown this or given the instruction to retighten. I would ask that all reps at this location be properly trained in loading a tow dolly. I am very lucky we did not lose our car and hurt someone.

I have used this location many times, usually it is decent. On this particular rental it was a horrible experience. The wait was terrible, many people around and only one person doing leasing. The person hooking me up seemed new and untrained. They did not ask me to check the lights after hookup, I did that myself later when I thought about it. About 60 miles down the road, the trailer came off the hitch and I thought I was going to have a wreck trying to get it to stop. I had to deal with that on the side of the road, getting the tongue back up on the ball. One safety chain and the safety brake chain had fallen loose at some point, probably when it came off the ball. I did not have the advantage of the trailer brakes to slow the trailer down so it was fishtailing like crazy. I got it all hooked back up and got back on the road. When I returned it I asked to see the picture they had taken of my hookup, they showed it to me and I could see that the nut on the tongue had not been tightened down, there were no threads showing. I will always double check the hookup from now on. My two lasting concerns are that the trailer brakes didn't work to assist me in stopping it after it came loose. My feeling is that the trailers are not inspected and maintained.

The pickup location on Research in Austin: I reserved a truck and trailer for the following weekend. Was the only customer in the store the entire time. The woman who helped me went into much detail about bringing the loaded U-Haul and my Mazda truck back on the departure day and they would connect the trailer to make sure it was done correctly. When I got there the next weekend with the loaded U-Haul they did not know what I was talking about. Same woman said there was no trailer reserved and it would be $500 more. It would have been $500 more whether paid the weekend before or on the departure day either way. I'm not bothered about that. I'm glad a trailer was available at all. But it did cost over an hour headstart on a 1000-mile drive. The woman pointed to someone else's name on the reservation I handed her and said she wasn't the one who had set it up. I called her by first name and said you are indeed the person who helped me with this last weekend. I don't know how that could have been missed for as long as we discussed it. How else would I have known to show up expecting a trailer? I would recommend the location yes, but I would say absolutely check 2-3-4 times before you leave that your reservation has everything that was discussed. I don't see how with undivided attention, with all of my questions, and her recommendations about returning for the trailer that it was missed. They did indeed help me on an interim visit between the reservation and moving days with questions about packing materials. That was greatly appreciated since I had never moved very large framed artwork before.

Please check the mileage meter before taking it. They entered the wrong mileage and charged me for that. How I knew- I know the actual distance very well. It's not even 2 mile and I took the plan for 10 mile and they charged me for extra 20 mile. They are cheaters

The site I was originally scheduled to pick up from was 10208 N FM 620. There was no UHaul equipment at this site - NOTHING! And they had no idea how I had been given that information even though I had ordered, paid for and checked in online. Luckily we were able to locate the trailer we needed at the Hwy 183 location. I was lucky that this location had the trailer that I needed. But UHaul gets a big FAIL for this!!!

There was a bit of lack of communication. When my UBox arrived it needed a padlock which I was not told about. I had to go out and buy one although I was on a schedule to pack up my apartment. Also, arranging a time for drop off would be better than waiting on a call the day you’re supposed to move. Or at least text messages or emails confirming your day and time. When moving you are on a schedule and not knowing or risking your container not showing up would cause a lot of issues.

Check in & getting off to moving was great. But when we started packing into the van realized this would not meet my needs - not enough space & so I tried to call the location to see if a larger truck was available but no answer after 3 calls & holding for at least 20 minutes. Being unable to try to resolve my delima I had to make 2 trips in my move costing me twice as much as expected. I was also told incorrectly where the gas tank was located & when I got ready to fill the replacement gas could not find the tank. Gas tank was by driver door thanks for assistance at the gas pump by customers locating the tank. These are all things I should not have to encounter when renting a van or truck. Someone should be on the phones to assist customers in need.

I showed up for my reservation to be told they do not have it or have any trucks. Then sent to a larger uhaul location on I35 and was told they can't help me because my reservation was not with them. Go back to the original location to be told they can't give me the truck I reserved because there is not one in town. And I can't get a smaller truck because they are reserved. Why did I even make a reservation. I would give a 0 if I could. Extremely frustrating.

Impersonal. Difficult. Time-consuming. Technology didn't work. Customer service was like lipstick on a pig. Truck leaked into cab when it rained which was alot on my trip. Water pouring onto to dashboard switches. I loathed the entire process. On-line app didn't work when I picked the equipment up. And, it didn't work when I returned the equipment at my destination. And, I still don't have the final paperwork I was promised by the young man who took the keys from my hand. This was a much different experience from all my other moves in the past with U-haul. This is a company run amok in my opinion. God help us all.

I want to start out by saying that the employee who I directly worked with was not the issue. The issues were as follows: A) I reserved a cargo van and was given a cargo truck because that is all you guys had on site. B) Apparently there was only one of the size I requested available but it was almost completely out of gas. We were told that as long as we brought it back with a quarter tank of gas we would get the gas credit. That's great, but I still had to go and put gas in before I could even do anything else. C) While instructing my friend as to where an easily accessible gas station was another employee rudely interrupted us and rudely told us we would not make it that far and need to got to another one instead. My biggest problem with this whole experience is the fact that you would even rent out a unit that might not make it a mile down the road before running out of gas, not only is that a safety issue but it is poor customer service practices.

For some reason, at this location, the employees always seem stressed and irritable. This results in customers taking on the emotional burden of their struggles. I have done business at this location for years, and it is always the same. The employees are different each time, so it must be a management issue. My experience at other uhaul locations has been more positive.

There were two holds on my bank card for $200 each on consecutive days, both picking up and returning the van. I was told my bank was the problem. My credit union says no and holds are initiated at store. Customer at Uhaul said my bank was lying. The general manager did not return call. Employees were rude and came toward me when I went there to get answer.i rented before without issues but not this time. Poor follow up. Stull mo answer and still hold on my account.

Employees told me there was not charge for miles driven if you stayed under 30 miles. They were wrong and I was charged for the 21 miles I drove. Very misleading.

Equipment was clean however the brakes on the trailer would lock up and I was on a highway and almost lost control twice. I’ve towed a travel trailer and a U-Haul previously and never had this issue. I did inform the employee at this location.

There were 3 employees when I walked in at around noon. The person who helped me was drunk and I could literally smell alcohol. He was trying hard to help me but there isn't much he could do because he was drunk. I asked him for a printed receipt with all the details because I had to submit it to my employer for reimbursement, but they couldn't get it done. Eventually I walked out because I was in rush and now I will just submit the document I received from pickup location.

I was told (in email--have proof) that I would be called to schedule a delivery time for my U-Box. I was not. On Monday, I was charged $79.00 for one month rental at your facility on Research. I had to contact 1-800 UHaul myself to schedule move. I was told by 1-800 UHaul that someone from Research would contact me. Again, NO ONE from Research has contacted me. But, today I get a Zero Balance contract. Thanks for nothing.

We pulled up at 8 and did the app. Out truck number was no where to be found. We hit can not find truck it gave us a number to a manager, we left a message he NEVER called us back it'd 10:22pm never got a call. I finally got out in the potting rain and used the key in the lock box to five trucks till I finally got lucky. Very bad experience.

Move boxes and low price labels. I was bleeding from nearly tripping over sharp price tags. The lady who hooked up car hauler did not attach it correctly and the car load pulled off violently. Maybe training issue.

Get more male workers to help the Sales ladies to hitch up the Uhaul trailers. The Sales lady that hitched up the 6x12 trailer needed help to hitch it up because it was too heavy and between my wife and I we assisted her. Therefore, please get some male help for these ladies. Thank you.

I got charged twice when I rented the vehicle. The customer rep also didn't think through when I needed to return the truck and needed to go through the booking process twice when I told her I needed the truck for more than 24 hours. Seems like a system glitch that should be corrected.

The customer service at this location was terrible, this store seemed to focus so much on the pecuniary value of business rather than on maintaining customers’ satisfaction. Would not recommend this location to anyone as even the Store Manager needs to be retrained on how to speak to customers

my only recommendation would be to fix the drainage issues around the back open storage area, gutters may help alot in reducing waterflow. in front of my rental space the gravel was quite washed away
