When I first got there I had an issue getting into the app, but it was an easy transition to walk into the office and do a regular face to face. Everyone was extremely friendly, courteous and more than helpful. I have never had any issues with UHaul in all the years I have utilized their services, supplies or vehicles. This includes my most recent rental. Trailer was not at Pick Up location as scheduled. No alternate trailer available until next day. To avoid planned travel disruption I had to drive 100 miles round trip to another dealer to get replacement trailer. Lost 5 hours of loading time. It was not clear where to pull in with the rented trailer, so I double parked by the trailers. When I got out, I noticed the painted arrows on the parking lot, so I got back in the rig and drove toward the line of trucks at "equipment return". Someone eventually came out and said that I needed to go back to where I initially was and then back the trailer into a parking spot. Not a big deal - but it counted for several moments of confusion. I'm decent at backing up a trailer, and as I was backing up, someone came out to help with the final guidance. This guy was awesome - giving just as much feedback and help as was appropriate - and not too much. I imagine some renters might not be as comfortable backing up, so if that's you, I would ask the question - what is involved with returning the trailer. But basically, all and all, I was in and out with no issues.THOMASWARREN A.
I returned the vehicle with the appropriate amount of fuel. The person did not wait long enough for the gauge to stabilize. They charged me $9 for 2 gallons of gas. When I picked up the truck it had 3/4 tank of gas. The needle barely moved during the time I had it, but knowing I would be charged extra, I put gas in it before returning it. That brought the tank to over full. It would've been nice to be able to receive some type of discount for returning the truck with obviously MORE gas than I started with, thereby saving your employees from having to fill itWendy B.

The trailer they had chosen for me had lighting/electrical issues...so they quickly got another for me to use. All was good BUT when I got down to FL - and was trying to 'check in the trailer' the Equipment number on my paperwork did NOT match the 'new' trailer they gave me. So it took many more minutes of my time to get the U-haul guy to go back into 'software' and check in Correct trailer equipment number from pictures I took of the trailer - took pics before leaving NY also. The staff on duty was nice but very uninterested in helping. I also had reserved a 9' truck and had a confirmation number but when I arrived was informed "we haven't had those in a few days" was never given an option and had to ask and figure it out on my own. Ended up paying for a 10' truck that didn't fit into my shop like I originally planned with a smaller truck. Was not very pleased with the overall experience. There are no problems with the location. I had a concern about the check engine light being on when I started the van, but it was a good workhorse. I have an issue with the confirmation of the receipt. Apparently, when you click on it (to avoid a $20 fee) you already confirm the receipt. But there's nothing that tells you that! Please let us know in the future or be more clear about how that works. Thank you!Peter M.

There were only two people working and the place was ridiculously busy. People came in while there were 7 others in line and kept interrupting the associates that were working and they answered their questions instead of asking them to wait. I waited 45 minutes to literally turn my key in. They didn't come look at the equipment or even ask my name. If that was the case, I wish there was a clearly marked drop box or a sign inside that said if you are just returning, drop the key here. When i went back out to my car, I saw there was one around the side of the building, but it was blocked by a truck, so there is no way I could have seen it prior to going inside to wait. The actual store was great. The phone help and road side assistance was not. Dropped the truck key while moving stuff and called to see about getting another key. After almost 1 1/2 hrs on the phone being transferred from one person to another and back, getting no where I went directly to the store and they said no problem and got me another key, Easy as that. Was a little pissed that they just didn't tell me to do that in the first place, wouldn't of needed to Rent the truck for a extra day. Money I didn't want to spend but had no choicesJohn T.

I was one hour late with the trailer. not 2.5 hours as the contract states. Addtionally my pickup time was more like 5:40 as I had to return home to get my receiver that I forgot the first time I arrived at the store. i found the whole process of securing my truck through the phone app to be annoying and it did not save me anytime. I had to wait and find another person to verify my information. Then I still had to go inside and get the key. There were no lines inside I would have preferred going inside to begin with as the mobile app saved me no time. I will be calling corporate... as this experience was horrible- literally the worst! The truck smelled as if someone had pissed the seat and smoked an entire pack of cigarettes for six months in the cab. There was dried chocolate and soda all over the console and the windows and mirrors were covered with so much scum it was hard to see out of them. Secondly as if all that disgusting wasn't enough it was given to me completely empty was terrified I'd run out of gas in a strange location - and went immediately to add gas- do you know how much gas a truck like that takes?? I sure didn't so I filled it up so I wouldn't be a single chick stuck on side of road somewhere - u think I got credit for the 80$ in gas I had to put on the piss truck?!? Hella no! Really? Disgusting business practice- so unsafe inconsiderate and scam for sure 3. I couldn't get charged a flat rate like listed online bc I was coming back to same Location??? Instead they charged me per mile!!! Wtf really I brought I back to same Location so I should have to pay more than if I left it somewhere else across country??? Riddle me That craziness ?? Overall the storage place is nice and secure with the gated entry. There is light outside the units but no light inside making it hard to see. The area is clean and well maintained but there is a bad rat and mouse issue. The droppings were huge which lead me to believe it is rats. I found a dead small mouse outside my unit as well. They got into one of my bags that you heat up in the microwave and put on your shoulder. Apparently it had grains in there which they sniffed out. They tore it up and got grains everywhere, they made nests in my bedding and chewed through some cardboard boxes. There were several bedding comforters with rat pee and poop and grain where they were clearly sleeping. I'm having to get all my bedding cleaned and some have to be tossed because they chewed holes in it.Ebtisam E. | Overall Experience
Found some mice/rat droppings 3-4 months in and notified staff. Manager gave us his card and said they exterminate regularly and can’t control what people have in their storage unit. My experience was excellent other than that I just have one thing that would really really help people (that's why I didn't give five stars). Please please please please please please please I beg of you, do something about the fact that you highly overestimate how much can fit in a storage unit. People rely on your estimates for their move. They do not have their own experience with this. The same problem goes with the u-haul trucks. A storage unit for a one bedroom no way fits a one bedroom. Same with a U-Haul truck, as experienced with a separate apartment's contents by a family member. Even the one to two bedroom storage unit and the one to two bedroom U-haul truck do NOT fit all the contents of a one bedroom. My family member had to change U-Haul trucks twice. Even the moving company I used said that you guys were overly optimistic when it comes to thinking what fits. I am not sure that you realize the implications of this overestimation. If you cannot fit everything into a storage unit, you have to change storage units, which can be an extreme stressor. I had to try three different storage unit sizes. If there is a U-Haul truck that does not fit everything into it not everything can be moved and precious things have to be thrown out and repurchased. I am not sure if the person that owns the company has not moved or experienced this or what is going on. I would recommend sendng out surveys asking people what size fits or so if it is such a problem. I would recommend you do something about this. I don't know why this is done by your company. I don't see the benefit to your company. We are puzzled by this, because you are a very very wonderful company other than that. Your staff is kind and patient, your return policy is excellent, and you are more than willing to help out. In summary, your company is amazing and awesome and your customer service is absolutely excellent. I just went into my recommendations because I thought it would help you with your future customer service as well as your customers. Rented storage unit ahead of moving truck arrival. Tried to reach local office by phone to make arrangements for trailer for several days with no response. Nobody answers the phone at this location and staff seems untrained and uninterested. Several people were there in person complaining about truck rentals and inability to communicate with staff.
