I rented 1 15ft truck, 2 furniture dollies, 12 blankets, 1 hand truck a tow Dollie for my car., when I arrived there was no furniture dollies and car Dollie. The manager was very nice but couldn’t get the tow dolly until an hour later. I still didn’t get the furniture dollies. Also 2 days before I spoke with a representative of your company who suggested that I get the truck in one location and the tow dolly in another. I informed her that this was unacceptable. When I went to get my truck there were problems due to mistakes made by the home office so they couldn’t get me checked out as quickly as advertised. I do not blame the people at the St Claude location, they did their best but l do blame the office for the foul ups. I Would like a response thank uou

I use this location regularly for drop off. I've never seen the same person there twice. I realize you folks have a monopoly, but shouldn't that be reflected in the experience? Pay for talent. I would gladly pay 20% more for my one way trucks and trailers if it means the people are glad to help.

Your employees are FANTASTIC! Amazing customer service, extremely patient and wonderful attitudes. Pleasure to be around them. However, our van was filled with roaches of all sizes. It was HORRIBLE!

The return took longer than the actual move. The staff was rude, no communication at all. Between not even being acknowledged, the staff (including the manager) were oblivious to any concerns I had, much less their HORRIBLE customer service. I was overcharged, argued with, and finally had to ask if my presence was still needed before finally walking out. I would not recommend this location to anyone for any reason at any time. Sheer desperation would be the only reason to use this facility.

Everything was good. I made the reservation in person. It was quick and went smoothly. The pickup truck I ordered was clean & ready when I picked it up. The estimate was accurate. I returned it early, and the return process went smoothly too. I was quite apprehensive when I started this process, but I'd use this location again (even though it's across town from me).

When a customer makes a reservation for furniture dollies it is good business practice to actually have them on site. This happened after I made a reservation for the previous day but they were unable to fulfill my reservation because the “system was down”

Your policy regarding existing damage to vehicles and documenting it Prior to leaving is particularly screwed up when the truck is filled from head to toe with damages and blemishes that are not already marked with X's. I had to mark every location on the provider of the vehicle on the diagram on the sales receipt because the truck was scratched and damaged in so many places that it would have been impossible to document them all, as per your policy. And then I had to sign a receipt saying I agreed to knowledge of these existing damages on the vehicle and I am responsible for any new damage that may arise...which is insane because there's no way to know what damages were there before or after.

I was charged $703 for a minor chip in the paint. The rep in the front said I would get a phone call before any charges went through but no one called and the charge for 703 went through. I had to bike all the way across town and go back to the location where the rep originally told me that that's how much it costs to repair the damage and I was stuck with it. (It was a tiny scrape!) Then she went and checked a previous walk through and found out that this scratch had already been reported but they hadn't marked it or anything so I got charged for it. She reversed the fee and was helpful but it still hasn't posted to my bank and it's caused two other charges to bounce resulting in three $35 charges with my bank. On top of moving into a new place and paying all these deposits this has really been a disheartening and stressful experience and I can't give more than one star. The rep who fixed it was nice but this should never have happened in the first place.

Extremely long wait times & inefficient operation. Subjective & inaccurate fuel assessment upon return. Rental was given away to another customer before fuel discrepancy could be resolved, thus forcing an unsatisfactory resolution.

My experience was negative with the cashier. Cashier allowed a customer skip the line. I wanted in line about 45 minutes with reservation of a truck. A customer rudely and disresectfully asked to change her reservation of a truck about 5 times in front of customers who was being checked out. Cashier should have told the customer she has to wait in line. Most of the customer had reservation, she has to wait her turn. I hope that you will review the cameras in the store and see this condition. I did not want to get in confotation with your customer. I hope that this cashier will get better training.

The staff at this location was helpful and doing the best they could in a bad situation. I ordered a 15 inch truck for 9 am. I got to the location right at 9 am. Then, I sat in line for 45 minutes while one poor girl behind the counter dealt with disgruntled customer after disgruned customer due to trucks not being available when we all had reserved them (despite the guarantee that a truck would be available at the reserved time and location). When I got to the register (at 9:45), there was only a 10 inch truck available. I was thrilled to get something. Everything seemed good (although I had spent an hour of my 5 hour reservation waiting in line to get a truck). I was on my way to my destination when I received four missed calls and a voicemail. I had to bring the truck back for whatever reason. I called the location and spoke with the woman who checked me out. She said I needed to return, she needed the truck. I should not have returned (and next time, I won't!) Apparently, the woman behind me in line was rude and through a fit and made the woman call me those four times. When I got back to the location, this rude woman who was originally behind me in line had her arms crossed (but, of course, her tantrum worked... she got the truck). I was told they would switch my truck out. I needed something 10 inches or more as I had to move multiple pieces of furniture and a mattress and box spring. I was told there was nothing available (again, after I had made a reservation in advance and was guaranteed the reservation would be fulfilled). The only thing available was a cargo van. That would have to do as I had to be out of my house that day. I had to wait 4.25 hours after my original reserved pick up time just to get a smaller truck than I had reserved. I'm not sure where the problem lies here, but something has to be fixed. This location is not the problem. The employees at this location is not the problem. They were doing the best they could with a screwed up situation. But, there is a problem here. A big problem. I would venture to guess that it is the scheduling and double booking of trucks that is the problem. something needs some serious work. And please, don't misunderstand when I say I would not recommend this location to a friend. It is not the location I wouldn't recommend, its uhaul in general.

Overall the young man went above and beyond to help make sure my needs were meet i wish i remembered his name. The young lady at the desk wasnt as welcoming and i felt like she could work on her csr skills. By me working as a csr myself i didnt feel valued until the young man stepped in and help her understand what i needed. He should get a raise or be a csr.

Steps should be simpler when using the self-check out/in. Pictures shouldn't be necessary, and if so, not multiple ones. Also the driving care insurance ($14.99) should be optional or reimbursed if rental is turned in early & with no damages to report.

Had appt to pick up van at 9A. Staff was late opening. Several delays and it seemed the van was not even checked after last usage. The cargo van needed maintenance and tires checked. There were dashboard warning lights coming on , one indicating low tires. Not sure what the other one was. Staff filled one and said the light went off, it didn't. Ticket said gas tank was full, it was not. Customer had to point it out. Customer also had to point out damage that was not on inspection ticket. Took an hour to get out of there. :(

Clerk: the computer system is too hard, took her soda and cookies, and literally walked out of the office leaving the truck clerk to deal with all the customers. The most WORST customer service!

Customer service at its best, when we picked up and returned. The staff was very professional. I will be using this locatuon (St. Claude) or Tulane Ave (near Broad) in the future. If these locations are NOT available I will NOT be using U-Haul. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: The manager, Norma Martinez 1019 Central Ave. Metairie, LA at location were very rude when picked up the truck and when we returned it. When we pulled up to return the truck and got out the car, she walked out the door and locked it. I thought maybe she was going somewhere 9n the premises, instead she got in her car and was driving off, when I wave to her and she said very rudely, "I be back." Otherwise she was pulling off without acknowwledi g our presence and/or saying anything.

empower employee's to handle problems.. the past two times I've rented equipment from this location and had a problem.. always told to talk to manager, who isn't available the majority of times I need to speak to him. perhaps the manager should NOT list his non working cell number on a business card. as well as return calls if he is the only one allowed to make decisions. Stop arguing with customers and listen.. shouldn't take 20 to 30 minutes to get you to shut up, listen and understand the problem before taking another 30 minutes to tell me I have to come back to see a manager. Employees should not interject in a discussion that does not involve them nor buck up like your going to hit me when I tell you to stop interjecting into my conversation. if employee had done their job when I rented the truck.. Wouldn't have had a problem. (clean truck with full tank of fuel and taken time to go over paperwork) if employee had done their job when i left the truck with a note that it was 3/4 full on pick up/return not full and had called before JUST CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD.. We wouldn't have had a problem. (also showed on my receipt and pick up walk thru as 3/4 tank) If the person at Uhail had taken time to listen to me when I called to straighten out the problem or at least got someone to return a call in a reasonable time.. we wouldn't have had a problem. (btw.. local store blamed national customer svc) If the employees at the store would have listened to me instead repeating themselves it wouldn't have taken 20 to 30 minutes to get them to understand I rented a truck on 3/4 tank fuel I returned truck with 3/4 tank fuel BUT WAS CHARGE TO FILL THE TANK FULL ON MY CREDIT CARD.. that's theft. That's a problem that should NOT have to wait on the manager to decide to come in or call in. Was i angry.. you betcha.... I had to drive to the store and argue with employees (at one point feeling threatened by 2nd employee) after calling to the store didn't help.. I lost 90 minutes of my day to get back my own money they shouldn't have taken in the first place. So Dear Uhaul, if you expect as customer to return a truck on full.. it must be on full when you rent it to me...or.. you should at least look t your own paperwork to see that it was marked 3/4 tank. dear uhaul, You have paperwork from the trucks previous rental customer showing it wasn't returned FULL.. and IF you had filled the trucks tank.. You would have had a receipt showing it for you record keeping and billing statements. dear Uhaul, if your employees act like they are going to get violent on a customer who is angry that uhaul stole their money by over charging them.. you should expect fall out. Dear Uhaul, customer service needs improvement.

The tire pressure was low. We went to the desk to tell the guy and he just said "oh well all the vans have that light on" and refused to even checked the tires for air. Not to mention we stood in line for 20 minutes while two people were at the desk, but only one was actually working. Then we were there another 40 minutes trying to call the general manager, whose phone number on the card is not even his phone number anymore. Finally another guy came in from his lunch break (yes, we were there is whole lunch break!), with no fuss said he would checked the tire pressure and low and behold, the tires needed air! The young man working the desk should be fired as he just assumed we were complaining because "they just want a free van." Awful service and I will never return to this location.

The 26 foot U-Haul that we rented had a hole in the passengers top corner. I asked for another 24 or 26 foot truck and none were available. Then I asked if I could increase the insurance from $14 to the $50 policy, and was told no because he would have to cancel the contract and write a new one. I really did not have the time or energy to make the gentleman do that. When I returned to my warehouse I called the customer service number listed on the web site to see if I could get the additional insurance. I was told no and that I should bring the vehicle back if I was that unhappy! I asked the customer service rep. if U-haul was in the business of renting damaged equipment. She said no. I have rented 7 u haul trucks since January 2017 and never experienced any thing like this. I usually go to the 6210 Chef Menteur location and they are very nice and helpful. Perhaps the associates at the St. Claude location and the customer service rep can spend some time with the manager at the Chef Menteur store and see how it should be done.

Hopefully someone will actually see this. Please just be helpful to me and act like I an actual human being. The whole staff was in a foul mood.

The rep behind the counter was new and had a hard time getting me my storage unit, we unloaded and waited for the manager to arrive at close to help get us a unit (over an hour) and when he finally showed up he was helpful in getting us our unit; the guy just needed to be trained better.

Scheduled a trailer hitch installation and when I arrived they didn't have anyone scheduled that day who was capable of an installation. He directed me to the 1-800 number which was equally as useless. I was transferred 4 times and the final person just gave me the number to another local Uhaul. Terrible experience with U Haul. Hope I never have to use Uhaul for anything in the future.

Despite the fact that this is the 2nd time I have booked a uhaul through this specific location, the manager at this location treated me like a criminal when he found out I was paying in cash. Even though the Uhaul screen said I only needed to deposit $100 if I would be to pay in cash, he wouldn't let me have the truck for less than $200. It was offensive and embarrassing and I will not be using Uhaul to book trucks if they continue to employ people with no customer service skills.

The van was infested with roaches. It was disgusting. When I returned the van and the staff knew it was infested with roaches and said the bug bombed the van but were not sure they were dead before they sent it back out. The staff were nice about it, but they should have offered to do something.

I actually used two drop off locations: Tulane Ave in New Orleans (where I dropped off to auto-transport first), and St Claude Ave, also in New Orleans (where I dropped off the truck a few days later). Both locations provided a sub-par customer experience. At Tulane Ave, I arrived outside and was greeted by a man who nonchalantly instructed me on where to park the auto-transport. After doing so, he took it upon himself to physically assist in unstrapping and unhooking the wheels and car from the trailer, unlatched the trailer from the van, and guided me as I drove my car off of the trailer. After doing so, he told me I would need to pay an additional $50 for his assistance. He indicated that his intent was to help me as a cost-free courtesy because of the ease in doing so, however his manager noticed that he was assisting, and per company policy intended apply the additional charge. I verbally noted to the man that I was not previously told about this charge, or given the option to decline his assistance. He shrugged his shoulders and told me to speak to the manager. I then went inside to complete the drop off and speak to the manager. Initially, the manager maintained that we would be charged, but stated the fee was $20, rather than $50. I then explained the breakdown in communication that had transpired outside, and he agreed to waive the charge for my drop off, which he did. He then completed my drop off, provided a receipt and I left. A few days later, I received a text message, directing me to drop off the truck at the St Claude location. When I arrived, I was initially told by a young lady and the manager that their location was not anticipating my drop off, and that I should return to the Tulane Ave location to do so. I explained the text message, and they agreed to take the truck. The young lady obtained my paperwork from me and inspected the truck. When she reentered the building, she indicated to me and the manager that the truck was missing a dolly. I explained that I received the truck with no dolly, was never told about a dolly of any sort, and was not aware that one should have been included. Initially, she and the manager told me that they would have to charge me $75 or $80 for the missing dolly, and that I would have to follow up on my own with the pickup location for a reimbursement at a later time. I told them I was not paying the additional fee for the dolly. The manager began speaking to my father who was with me, instead of me, which he continued to do for the remainder of my time there, and indicated to my father that he would reduce the fee to a minimum of $5. I should not that this reservation was in my own name and paid for using my own debit card, and I was the person to initiate the conversation with the manager and provide the young lady with my paperwork. After listening to the manager, my father agreed to pay the $5 charge (which I would not have agreed to, had he not done so), but when the young lady came back into

My experience renting from U-Haul has been a nightmare. In error I was charged for an extra day, and I have been fighting this charge for over a month and a half, though everyone I have talked to has agreed that I should get refunded for this mistake. I keep being told that my refund will arrive, but I am still waiting. Staff has been rude and dismissive, and no one will give me a straight answer about when I will get my money back. I will never work with U-Haul again, and am going to tell all of my network how difficult the company has made this process.

I've rented several times from this location with great service and vehicles were in nice shape. However this equipment was by far the worst I've ever had. The cab interior was extremely dirty. Ashes in the ash tray, dashboard covered in a layer of dirt and dust, windows steaked and dirty. Exterior of the vehicle had a numerous amount of dents, scratches and damage. Drivers side mirror was broken and half was missing. We had a rear tire blow out and I had know idea until a passing vehicle honked and motioned to me that the tire was flat. No warning lights for tire pressure changes. The tire was shredded. The tech who came to replace the tire said it appeared the vehicle had all the original tires. The vehicle was old and tired. To me it appeared that they were dumping the worst vehicle they had onto the U Haul shop on the other end of this one way rental, and I was the transporter.

The Manager was very rude and unprofessional. I was trying to extend my rental and they couldn't even give me and accurate rental quote. So I decided to return it and then my total was $100 more then it should've been. The young lady couldn't even explain the charges to me. She wasn't rude about anything she was just poorly trained by management. So, After 15 minutes of going back and forth she finally understood I was being overcharged. Customer service was very little help as-well. Needless to say I'll never go back to that location for service.

The communication overall was awful. I reserved a truck 11 days before I needed it only to be told it was given away because I arrived an hour late. The manager was very dismissive and rude and knowing I was frustrated basically ignored me. He said he tried to text and call me but I never received either - no missed calls or texts - so he must have misdialed but refused to admit that. Afrer raising his voice at me in front of customers he eventually decided to offer me a $50 credit toward another reservation that he didn't honor. He said he would try to find me another truck later in the day but had it not been for a new employee who was so understanding and apologetic who eventually helped me get a truck about 3-4 hours later I doubt I would have gotten one that day. I only needed the truck for a few hours for a short local move. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location if you can. Also, the service is so slow and there just seems to be no sense of urgency, like we're bothering them by being there.

Awful! The truck had so many scratches and dents there wasn't enough room to mark all the X's. I did not even think to check the tires. They were going to charge $79 for two missing furniture pads that would normally cost $8 each to purchase. I was able to return them and not get charged. I was surprised to find a charge on my credit card today for an extra $226 to replace two tires for approximately 20 miles in town use, even after the insurance discount. What should have been about $100 (29 for truck, insurance, dolly and pads) turned into $336. What a scam and racket this place is. For that price I could have just hired professional movers and saved my time, energy and stress level. No way to prove that the tires did not get damaged on my time so I would recommend that even if you get insurance better check EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. I would recommend professionals or a different moving company. This uhaul is not the only source out there.

I have used this location many times and never experienced the poor service I received this morning. Your employee was sleeping on the counter with his head down. I said "good morning" to which I received NO REPLY as he played with his pen or the computer. Finally he said he had upset stomach and asked me what I wanted and I told him I had a reservation. When he pulled the vehicle around it did NOT have a ramp as it stated on your website which I could not use. When I told him I needed a ramp he was 'exasperated' at having to switch the truck. I was so frustrated I told him to forget it and left. I'm sick of poor rotten service almost everywhere you go these days. It's sad. I hope this was an isolated incident because the staff at this location are typically very nice and helpful.

Infested with rats and mice. Dead rat in the unit the day I moved in which was cleaned out and moved out early b/c of another dead mouse. My stuff was covered with droppings.

Had to throw away stuff b/c mice peed chewed through it some was moldy. Was told it was climate controlled there was an elevator, but it was hot musty we had to carry things up narrow stairs.

There was vermin urine and waste all over a large portion of our boxes and destroyed expensive mattresses, couches, chairs and other furniture. We’ll never use or suggest Public Storage again.
