My storage unit was filled with cockroaches and water bugs upon leaving. I moved in on April 24th, 2021 and moved out on June 15th 2021. My items were not even in storage for a full 60 days. We alerted the property due to the infestation. Now I am worried about having brought bugs into my new home and needing extermination services. In my opinion! I felt as if the pick up and return of the equipment/truck after hours could've went smoother with updated computers and software. My reason behind this is because my card was wrongfully charged twice do faulty equipment/software. Other than that uhaul is my go to for all moving, packaging, and storing/shipping needs. An error was made at the Uhaul location that the box originally was rented/shipped from (Cicero, IL). This caused a significant delay on our receiving end in Charlotte. However, Cindy at the Charlotte location was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to get my box to me. Her customer service was excellent.MICHELLE K.

The lady who checked me out was borderline rude, didn't answer questions, barely made eye contact, etc. The truck seemed very clean but it was so old that it was really hard to go above 40-45 miles per hour. I wouldn't rent from this location again unless I had to. I also found that despite my efforts to go to the location closest to me, the website KEPT directing me to this location. I wish I had pushed back. Also, they changed my reservation without anyone calling to explain why and sent way too many texts before I got there. The pickup process was very repetitive to the online information I'd already filled out, also having to call a 3rd party to verify my identity is a pointless step since the agent has a photocopy of my driver's license and my credit card information in front of them. General manager walked out of restroom on the phone with a personal call. Sanitation please! Clueless with a customer in front of me. Repeated interruption with personal text/calls. Absolutely horrible experience. Did mobile pick up, could not find the van, had to go in and speak to them, they had it parked in â€œhighway advertising â€œ far from the location. Then I walk all the way back and get an alert I need the key. Did not end up getting out of there until almost noon. Then get a text that it was supposed to be returned to the statesville location despite it being a one way that I requested. I call in and they say there is nothing they can do because that specific location owns the specific van they gave me. Had to drive an additional hour back and extra miles because of this, raising my rental cost from 70 something to 120!!! Got there to return it over and hour ago, super long time and an employee instructed me to just give them the keys. I just now got an alert if was returned, making it even more late! And I had to get an Uber home which will be an additional 30-50!!!!!!!!!!!Jessica F.

Unfortunately I've had to contact U-Haul more times than I can count. North Carolina never got back to me after several calls. Clearwater never bothered to call me back after several calls both of the aforementioned phone calls have messages left for the regional managers. I've had nothing but problems with this order we will not be using ubox again. We used ubox before from Ohio it was a great experience. This time to accommodate their schedule they drop the boxes off early which was fine , but I called to have them pick them up a week early so I could get them shipped down here sooner and they just let them sit in the warehouse and they never called to see if they could be picked up. When I called they said the reason they didn't ship them out was because I owed a balance which was not true as they had my credit card then I called back and I got a different story so lying to the customer didn't sit well with me. Additionally I could have taken the boxes on 5/7 which was not an option, I understand but I advised I would not be paying for the second month of storage as the delays are on the U-box end. I had asked them to pick the boxes up early so I could avoid that second month storage fee for all three boxes because I wanted the boxes on 57 which they said no obviously you can't do that because there needs to be a certain amount of time, which I understand so 11 day guarantee if you pick them up online April 26 like they did they should've been shipped by May 10 and I would've had them unpacked and repacked up on May 12. I called the Clearwater location several times to confirm soon they could get the boxes to me was on The 13th and they swore up and down that's the only time they can do then I get a rude call from Christina saying that I have to have Fox dropped off either on the 11th or 12th now the 13th is full. As a customer the way it was communicated and how it was handled it appears that I know I'm not important I was already on the schedule for the 13th but now you just overbooked and I got shuffled off that was a big frustration for me as I had movers there too unpack that day. Then dropping off early they did not bother to come back and get them I said I only wanted them at the house for a day because we had no driveway usage and said they wait until Sunday so they That in my driveway six days and I had to park in the road. I should not be charged at all for the second storage for any of those boxes as the scheduling all falls within did delays caused with Charlotte and Clearwater locations Often times when I would call either the North Carolina or the Florida local locations I would get rude staff responses sometimes I have pleasant ones though I was told yesterday that the person that picked up the boxes were talk to me about the storage issue and not paying the cost however they came and picked up the boxes and laughed again another disappointment and another broken promise by U-HaulBeth H.

Unfortunately, my experience was the worst. I had two different purposes to be there and both times were horrible. The staff do no care about Customer Service each time they attempted to charge me extra for something. The customer care line says they will inform the manager and to expect a call no one ever does. Its like they think resolving the problem with out confirmation is ok. In my time I communicated my actions for my move out date on the 17th. I still received a bill so I called CC told them I had moved as I had called the main line 3x already with on answer and still was charged w late fee. I was suppose to pick up truck at Concord location. No one called me and told me it was cancelled. I called and spoke with someone who made the new reservation at the Charlotte location and when I asked if I could drop the truck off at concord I was told yes, then when I mentioned that at Charlotte they told me no. It's not in the notes here you have to bring it back here. Yes I was angry and then the young person behind the computer screen refused to service me and I had to beg the manager for a truck. Manager did tell me I should have gotten 50 dollars off due to the cancellation of my reservation in the first place which I have not seen. I need to move again in two weeks and I really don't want to use haul again unless I get compensated in some way.MELANIE D.

I arrived a few minutes early and waited until the manager got there to open the store 10ish minutes late. Got my rental trailer hooked up myself and was on the road by 9:30. 2 hours I returned with the trailer that I rented for 6 hours. I was told I was outside of my time frame but she would only charge me for 1 day anyway. I said I'm not paying for a whole day I picked it up this morning for a 6 hour rental and it is 11:30 am you opened at "9:00" there is no way I am outside of my 6 hour time frame. I wish I could submit a review for 8009 Old Statesville U-Haul. The customer service was horrendous, I've never experienced anything like it. We reserved a truck for 12:00 on Saturday and chose to do the mobile option. We got there early and sat for 20 minutes trying to go through the mobile steps. During that time, they rented our truck out. We went to go inside for help but the main guy went to lunch and blah blah blah. I'm sitting here getting angry just thinking about it. Anyway, we ended up calling corporate and they sent us to Boxmeer Uhaul and it was a wonderful experience.bryan V.

It was simple and fast to RENT. UHaul took and accepted my money VERY quickly. I am at the convenient Drop off location and have been sent now 3 places for over 1.5 hours. UHaul does NOT want to take back the trailer before they close. I can NOT do any of this next day work say and have many things to do. supposedly had 24 hr access but we couldn't get into our unit. All of the doors were locked even tho my card worked. You need more than one person working the desk on weekends. It’s very expensive to rent a storage unit, and I feel as if the storage unit is not used an entire month there should be a pay differential. As customers we have to go back and make sure we did damage anything as well as clean it before returning the storage unit or truck. For example the unit I had was $104 a month with taxes, I turned my unit in maybe a week and a half earlier and just from doing my math if you all offered a pay differential I should had received at the most $40 back which like most people it could really be used. The GM at the location even gave me false information saying he could give me a price differential as well as the wrong instructions to check out the storage unit.Alexis D. | Overall Experience
