Charged extra for cleaning an open utility trailer. When I received it, it was mud splattered and had hay in the bed. Probably my fault for not mentioning it at the time, but I left the trailer the same way I received it and I was charged a cleaning fee.

I reserved a storage unit (via phone) for Sunday, November 5th. I was informed by the representative that I would be able to receive my storage unit if I arrived to storage by 5:00 PM. I arrived at 4:58 PM and employee told me that he had already closed out his drawers and was not able to check anything in or out. Employee told me to come back in the morning to speak to supervisor. I had to contact uhaul customer services to change reservation date. I had to keep truck, dolly for an additional day and could not store my belongings.

They check in people were beyond rude. It was a huge issue that I wanted to check the truck before signing off on the truck inspection. It was implied that I was unintelligent because I assumed the card I used to make my reservation would automatically be used to pay for my reservation. Also the tank was only half full - not a bit above half full as indicated on the form - and I was so uncomfortable with the way I was treated I did not even want to go inside to identify the discrepancy. I will never use this uhaul location again.

I really liked the self check in process... very easy to use. When I arrived at the Uhaul location I did have one question and Colleen was on hand to assist me. Colleen was incredibly friendly and helpful! She also assisted me when I returned the truck. Colleen is such a huge asset to your operation in Depew NY! The return process was just as easy as the pickup, and I think it was my interactions with Colleen that really made it so wonderful. She was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and had me on my way in no time at all!

Trucks check engine light came on after about 10 minutes of driving. Had to call roadside assistance, was directed to a different UHAUL location where truck was checked and given the ok to continue on. Both locations very helpful. No further issue with truck until last day. Check engine light came on again. Able to complete trip with no issues.

The rep that first assisted us on site was very brash, insisting they didn't have the truck we reserved and wouldn't have one available for hours despite my reservation. After a few minutes of debate his coworker pointed out our truck was in fact, available. Maybe review with your reps the importance of politeness and smiling when servicing a customer. He was just rude.

I rented a 5x9 open trailer. It said 5x9. When I went to use it, it was only 50" across. Either the trailer was mislabeled, or it the 5' was measuring something other than the bed size. The manager just shrugged.

The girl who answered the phone was friendly, patient and knowledgeable as she explained the different options to me. The rude unhappy miserable kid with the spacers in his ears was RUDE, condescending and a terrible lazy employee. You should be ashamed of how he treats your customers. He is a smug punk. Upon returning the van, he was exactly the same jerk as the night before. When I told him he had no right to treat us this way. He said yeah, I just got bitched at by someone else. No apology or defending his behavior. I expected better from uhaul which is a known and respected company.

dont tell people they have a reservation for vehicle and confirm it with email then when they show up to get it tell them that you dont have the vehicle they reserved and they have to go to another location if they want that vehicle especially when you charge by the mile to make someone have to put additional miliage on just to get and return vehicle.

I indicated a different location for pick up and went there at the scheduled time. When I arrived, the proprietor did not have a reservation for me, so he called customer service. The customer service agent informed us the pick up location had been moved here, which is 8 miles away. She said I had been texted that info, which I had not, and she also implied that I shouldn't complain about driving farther since some people drive 60 miles to pick up a truck. (She was not winning any customer service awards that day.) So we drove to this location. They had the reservation and the truck ready, and the agent here confirmed that no one had contacted me by text or email about the location change. She said her location or the regional office should have contacted me but did not. When I asked why they didn't just move the truck to the location where my pick up was scheduled, she said they don't do that. (What's the point of letting the customer choose the closest pick up location if it will just be changed later?) She apologized and credited me a quarter tank of gas. We ended up being late meeting our moving help, which was moving time we paid for, and I was late returning to work. UHaul needs to have more respect for their customers' time. Find a way to automate the location change notification process and provide that notice well in advance of the pick up time. Or better yet, just be honest at the time of the reservation instead of pulling this location bait and switch. If you tell me I have to drive 8 miles, I won't mind as long as I can plan for it.

When making the reservation a drop off location is established. My previous two reservation the drop off location way changed after the paperwork was completed. It is difficult to change plans at the last minute.

The bag on the side of the truck and dolly take up much needed room! !! I pay for a 17ft truck and I don't get the full 17 ft because of the stuff on the side of the truck! ! I had to leave my lawn mower behind and all I needed was that space I'm not very happy! !! Costing me more time and money. I just think it's not even needed I'd rather forget that stuff that's there than anything I own.

Trailer looked old and decrepit...most dangerous trailer I ever towed in my life.when I first seen trailer I asked if anyone ever inspected it and the store mngr Eileen told me yes it was just yesterday.well when she hooked it up tail light had to be fixed.trailer jumped and shutterded without car on it thought it was just from sitting...well with car on it 20xs worse.when I returned trailer to Depew location the tech that returns the trailers told me they get complaints all the time about this picticular trailer with license plate number...Oklahoma 560R2..but store mngr wont take off the rode...after speaking with mngr a week after initial call with her and her promise to get back to me...right!!(she promised to call me in couple days after they can look at it)...she said there was nothing wrong with it....yep just like I thought she would say but had to give benifet of the doubt...anyways I wouldn't recommend renting from this location with this serious dangerous equipment on the road...how in the world they legally can have this trailer on the road is beyond me..maybe it is ehy its registered in Oklahoma I would say...will follow up with dot for explanation on this!

I rented a 6x12 cargo trailer to use while moving from old house to our new house. The trailer was easy to load and was bigger than you may think. We were able to get more stuff in one load than anticipated. The covered cargo came in handy when it started to rain so we could continue our move during the rain. The young ladies at the store were more than helpful getting my truck hooked up to the trailer and even lent me a plug for the lights because mine wasn't working correctly. All in alla great experience and I would recommend U-Haul for anyone looking to move...

Rented a 6'x12' trailer, picked it up at 4:30PM on Friday and dropped it back by 7:30PM, U Haul employee was out smoking and helped me unhitch trailer, told me I was all set. That was until a few days later, I reviewed my credit card and found they charged me for another day. Looked back through no-reply emails to see that the trailer wasn't checked in until 9:30AM Sunday! Tried to call and only get customer service out of state, told them the issue and was assured manager would respond, gave it 24hr and nothing. Called again and was giving another number to file a customer objection, was told will be review in 3 day, I asked for service manager, was transferred, line rang until it disconnected me. All they had to do was call me back and give me refund from their mistake. Know I have to call and be transferred and dropped and shuffled to chase down my money. Beware next time you deal with U Haul that they don't over charge for fake services and time frames.

I tried to pick up the rental truck using my phone. As I was getting in the truck, a attendant told me this particular truck was already rented. I tried to explain to him that I was checking in on my phone and this was the truck I was given. He told me I had to go inside to the counter. 25 minutes later I finally had another truck. The electronic check in is not very good. Very aggravating.

Things went quick as usual, with one little snafu that was handled easily. Contract said tank was full....got down the road, noticed = 3/4 full. Did not have time to go back..so I phoned and a gentleman named "Fin" took care of it. Filled tank to 3/4 to return and all was well when return handler went to computer.......so it wasn't an issue. Job well done.

Problem was not with the locations. Problem was with UHaul's infrastructure. UHaul said I had a free month of storage rental, didn't tell me that it would only work at very specific locations and only if I was willing to drive an extra 20 miles. I called all the locations nearby and no storage space was available. Why was I promised this if it wasn't even available? At one Lockport NY location, oddly enough only open for 3 hours on a SATURDAY WHEN PEOPLE ARE MOVING, I tried to call ahead and every time I called I was placed on hold. After sitting on hold for 5 minutes, I hang up and waited 15 minutes, and the smart ass on the phone responds, "I appreciate the call back, but I still need you to hold." Due to this confusion, I'm out an additional almost 200 dollars because of UHaul fine print. I know I'll call and they'll point to the fine print. It should never have come to this, UHaul, when I make the reservation, UHaul knows my start and end point, they have digital tracking on all of their storage units. They know what's available, yet I was still promised a free storage unit with my $600+ rental, and they couldn't provide it anywhere near where I said I was going.

Elaine was very efficient, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though the lady we had talked to on the phone from the call center gave us the completely wrong price quote and lied about the accessories she said came with what we were renting. This was frustrating when we arrived, Elaine had to deal with rexplaining everything and then showing us the accessories we had to buy and the large price hike in our rental. The people at the call center need to be properly informed so the location workers don't have to deal with angrey customers. Elaine did a great job of helping us and turning out UHaul experience to a more positive one even with there o Lu being two workers that day. That location was understaffed. You need more workers like her and you should take better care of your workers.

The only inconvenience was that we reserved the 4x8 trailer to be picked up at the Transit location (right around the corner from home). When we received the reminder email, we had to pick it up in West Seneca. Upon trailer hookup in WS, the wiring wasn't working so we had to take our vehicle back to Transit where we had the hitch installed and then return to WS to pick up the trailer. The hitch mechanic at Transit location assured us that the wiring was perfect and let us rent a 4x8 that they just got in, saving us the trip back to WS. We were extremely happy with the trailer.

To improve for the next customer, I will begin by suggesting you actually look for the truck you have (somehow) misplaced before calling two days after the truck is due. If for some reason this is not a reasonable suggestion, consider actually calling the aforementioned next customer when you have found the truck instead of quietly and shamefully emailing the receipt, leaving the next customer wondering just what the hell is going on until they check their email. I admit comping the gas was a nice touch, but I would have sooner paid the $12 and had this never happen in the first place.

I reserved the truck online the night before with a deposit. When picking up, I was told to swipe my primary and secondary credit cards multiple times to no avail. Finally, they voided out my original reservation and had to start over, including swiping my credit cards multiple times. Explanation was computer issues. The day of my rental the customer service lady was very nice and very detailed in helping me. I needed a truck for a full week and possiblely a day or two longer. She told be no problem. I was sechulded to bring the rental back Thursday morning at 8:45am as agreed to in are contract. On Wensday afternoon aprox. 200pm. I called and stated i needed the truck for one more day. I was told no! The reason was the truck was scheduled to go to auction. The UHaul store offerd for me to bring that one back and swap trucks. I live 45 minute's away from that store. After speaking to the manger they did nothing to help fix their screw up! If the truck was scheduled to go to auction i should have never got it nor was i ever told anything of it. I do not appreciate the store manager behavior In the way she spoke of the matter. I will never use nor recommend that store nor location to anyone! Their customer service needs a overhaul

The experience was fine. What I don't understand is asking how long you intend to use it. If the rental is good for 24 hrs. why conflate the agreement by saying that you may be charged if your estimate is inaccurate as to when you'll be done. I had to call to be sure I wouldn't be charged for going over and actually had to haggle a bit. I said 4hrs, but moving is an imperfect science. A few buddies don't show, or you realize you need an additional trip, and so much for the four hour estimate I gave that I felt I was then being held to. It doesn't make sense. It should be 24 hours and no questions asked. I had no idea my estimate was important. Additionally, I filled the gas tank until the pump clicked, not allowing any more, yet I was charged for not being above the full line. The pump would only allow what it would allow, yet $8 as a charge for not returning it full. That's an issue. Overall, the location is good. Those are more just policy issues.

I marked the above as the equipment clean and well maintained but it could have been better. The windshield wipers were poor. Second there was loud wind noise/whistle whenever the vehicle was traveling 30 mph or more. I have always been very happy to rent from U-Haul, approx 20 times in the past year. Additionally, I called to change my reservation to a smaller truck, was told I was all set. After standing in line for a half hour to be told I was getting the bigger truck and they didn't know anything about changing my reservation to a 20ft from a 26ft. Was 2 miles over allotted mileage and got charged because there was another business with the same address (6161 Transit Rd) about 6 miles away that my GPS took me to, but apparently was listed as a different town even though they are close by. So got charged for 2 miles over, but nothing my way for filling the truck, not even a "Thank you." Least they could've done was negate the whopping $1 mileage overage. when i came in to rent the truck the girl behind the counter was professional but detached. She was helping with inventory and asked me to wait, then kept answering questions that were not directed to her, having side conversations - which were business oriented, but I didnt know when she was talking to me or someone else. It was very annoying.
